Medical aspirants – NEET is all set to be rolled out from 2013. This
means that now there will be common entrance test for admission to all
UG programmes and that will be called NEET or National
Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. This exam will be conducted by CBSE.
(Source: Times of India)

As of now, there are some 17 entrance tests held to fill more than
30,000 seats in around 271 medical colleges. Now with NEET, there will
be a single entrance examination for all these colleges offering MBBS
courses. Basically this will cover all the medical colleges coming under
the ambit of Medical Council of India (MCI). 138 of these colleges are
run by governments while 133 come under private management.

The ministry has also set a coordination committee to address any
issue related to admission process, reservations, regional language as
medium for conduct of NEET etc. Another important change is that the
qualifying criterion has been changed from percentage of absolute marks
to percentile to ensure that no seat remains unfilled. This was done to
address the concerns that some seats might go unfilled with the
introduction of common entrance. The MCI has also revised the syllabus
for the entrance exam.

What do yo think about the new entrance test? Will be reduce the stress among students?

Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET): The Common Engineering Entrance Examination:

The Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India is all set to go ahead with its plan to conduct a common engineering entrance examination from 2013, but the first nation-wide test may only cover technical institutions funded by the Centre.

IIT-JEE
and AIEEE — for long the gateways to India’s top engineering colleges
including the IITs and NITs— is all set to be replaced by a brand new
test to be called as ISEET - Indian Science Engineering Eligibility
Test. As reported by The Indian Express on January 31, the new exam
modeled on lines of the international test - ‘SAT’ comes into force
starting 2013. The introduction of this test is expected to help do away
with multiple entrance examinations and thereby reduce the stress
levels of students.

ISEET Exam Date (Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test):

The
ISEET is going to be effective for admissions into the IITs and NITs
for Admission year 2013 and therefore is expected to be conducted in
either March or April 2013.

ISEET Test Pattern (Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test):
ISEET will have two papers on the same day:
ISEET Main:

Duration of ISEET Main – 3 hours

Paper-Test Pattern of ISEET Main – Areas Tested at ISEET:

Reading Comprehension & Critical Thinking and Logical Reasoning

Weightage to ISEET Main: 30% minimum

ISEET Advance:

    Duration of ISEET Advance3 hours.

Paper-Test Pattern of ISEET Main – Areas Tested at ISEET:

Problem Solving Ability in Basic Science Subjects

Weightage for ISEET Advance: 30% minimum

    The
two tests ISEET Main and ISEET Advance together will indicate a
candidate’s scholastic level and aptitude for science and engineering.

The Selection Process from ISEET (Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test):

A
student’s performance in the Class 12 Board exam will be considered,
with the weightage not less than 40 per cent of the total score. The
combined weight for ISEET Main and ISEET Advance will not be more than
60 per cent; however, the weightage given to Board scores can go up to
100 per cent.

Each
state government or institute will be able to decide the specific
weightage it gives to Board, ISEET Main and ISEET Advance exam/test
scores. A committee headed by Dr T Ramasami, secretary in the Department
of Science & Technology, has demonstrated with the help of the
Indian Statistical Institute that school scores across various Boards
can be normalized through a statistical process.

Parameters for Selection thru ISEET

Percentage weight at ISEET

Weigthage of Board Examination minimum

40%

HRD Ministry’s Proposal on ISEET:

HRD
Ministry's proposed move to conduct the Indian Science Engineering
Eligibility Test (ISEET) from 2013, as a successor to the Indian
Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) and All India
Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) has stirred up apprehensions amongst
the experts and certain State Governments. However, a final decision is
likely to be taken in the forthcoming conference of State Education
Ministers which is likely to take place on February 22, 2012.

Number of Students Expected to Take the ISEET:

Currently
published figures for the students taking IIT-JEE are approximately
4.25 lac and those taking AIEEE are in the range of about 12 lacs.
Assuming that there is a complete overlap between the students who take
IIT-JEE as well as AIEEE – the expected minimum number of ISEET takers
will be 12 lacs for the year 2013. The number of takers of ISEET can of
course increase given that the board examinations now constitute 40% of
the weightage for selection into the ISEET affiliated technical
institutions and colleges. Additionally the number of students taking
the ISEET will rise once again when the State Level Engineering Tests
are replaced with ISEET.

ISEET Conducting Body: Who will conduct, Manage and Set the ISEET test paper?

The
ISEET is expected to be managed and conducted by the CBSE board of
examinations at a central level. It is also proposed by the government
that the setting of the ISEET papers both ISEET main and ISEET advance
be handed over to IITs.

Colleges & Institutions accepting ISEET Scores:

All
national level institutions – IITs, NITs, IISER and IIITs to begin with
are slated to accept the ISEET scores for admissions along with the
School Board Examination Marks.

Just a few minutes back my mom came to me and asked whether I would sleep or not.But I replied her that there is lot work for me on the net you go and take a nap.She agreed and went away.As I started blogging I experienced some kind of abnormal thing going on around in my room. When I came out of my room I got a flashing light into my eyes.It is nothing but the scorching sun.Today in Andhra Pradesh the temperatures are hiking to the sky.At present the temperature is about 40 degree centigrade. Many people were dying due to the heat stroke.Even my father faced its attack.but he recovered soon as we were all there to help him.But what about the poor people ? Who will take care of them.Coming to the point, today the situation is in great danger.Trees are being cut indiscriminately.Female babies were being killed ruthlessly. There should be a need to stop such violence.

The main reason to write this post is that today the world is facing a severe threat called global warming. It is a huge monster which is eating up the earth and heating its inner core. The harmful gases which resides in our atmosphere are also helping this monster to eat our earth.Generally those gases are released into the atmosphere by us, the HUMANS. So we are helping this monster to eat away the earth.

We should not do such injustice to our mother earth. We should protect our earth from the monster.

The readers who were reading this thinks that it is also a some type
of message. But this is not a message this is an order by the
god.Everyone knew this order but we will forget about that order. It is
natural for every human to forget. But this order should not be forget by
us.There is a small video clip about the problems of global warming

I think we should protect our earth. The following points are some of the preventive measures of global warming :-

Go for an e bill instead of an paper bill.

Wash your hands ( by not using the soap or other) near plants or trees so that they receive water.

Create awareness programs among the people because most of them are unaware of global warming.

Use social network sites for promoting awareness.

Create valuable messages and quotes to bring change in the hearts of the people.

Create blogs for promoting the awareness programs.

Reduce the use of fuel.Use bicycles instead of power vehicles for medium distances.

Maintain ecological balance by planting trees. A CHILD --- A TREE . Work on this concept.

Do not dig the soil too much.Because digging the soil to maximum extent leads to the imbalance of underground water levels.

    10. The main important thing please follow the above measures
So please my dear friends and readers Help our MOTHER EARTH AND SAVE OUR NEXT GENERATION'S FUTURE.
Today Facebook is the number 1 social networking site. Many of the members who use it are of the age group between 15 to 50 years. The most interesting thing is that the old people are also preferring to chat on facebook. It has become a part in our daily life.Today many people think that facebook is causing an immense harm to the society as well as to the interpersonal relationships. But it is not correct .According to my view any social networking sites that are playing key role in our life must be used in a harmless way.Today these sites are helping many disabled persons to carry out their treatment by providing them sufficient funds. Many good organizations use facebook or others to help the poor and needy people.

But there are some disadvantages in them. Many people use it as a net to capture young women and teenage girls. Some people might hack others accounts and publish abusive posts in the name of others. This brings a bad name to the particular user.So we should be aware of that. Some people are also getting addicted to it very much. This is leading to the disturbances in their married life and imbalances in the student's life.Recently a women being severely addicted to facebook left her child without givinng food. That resulted in the death of the child.

So I believe that we should encourage these sites to a certain limit. They are laid just for our entertainment but they are not the only life.So please my dear people , please control this virtual disease.

Support THE LITTLE GANESHA on account of this.

NOTICE

This is in fact the first such app found on Android and it comes in the guise of the popular Madden NFL 12 game.

Kaspersky's Mobile security researcher Denis Maslennikov has found
a malicious application that affects Android smartphones. The app is
actually an Internet Relay Chat bot that runs automated tasks over the
internet. This is in fact the first such app found on Android and it
comes in the guise of the popular Madden NFL 12 game.

When an Android smartphone user downloads and installs the popular
game or application from lesser-known third party app stores, the IRC
bot quietly gets installed in the device.
Maslennikov explains that after the app is installed, the malware,
disguised as Madden NFL 12, aims to take complete control of the device.
Once the malware gets root (administrator level) access, the IRC bot
gets installed along with an SMS
Trojan. The root access allows the attacker to control the smartphone
remotely and send an SMS to a premium rate number and thereby increase
cost for the user.
All this is in the background and the user has no clue of what is
happening to the credit balance. The premium rate numbers are usually
international numbers, hence SMSes to these numbers cost a lot.
The IRC bot connects to any random remote IRC server with a random
nickname. Once connected, the IRC bot becomes capable of receiving shell
commands to perform specific functions on the device. In this entire
attack, the malicious app needs to gain root access to perform nefarious
tasks. If your device is not rooted, or if it is rooted through proper
methods, there is nothing to worry about.
As always, users are recommended to download apps only from reputed
and verified app stores such as Android Market, Amazon App Store and
Getjar. Applications from an unknown location can prove to be dangerous.
Needless to say, this premise depends on one thing — if the phone is
rooted and that with an outdated code. Unless you are an advanced user
we recommend not rooting the smartphone© 2010-2012 The Little Ganesha® All Rights Reserved.
Samsung has released white versions of several of the company’s
mobile devices lately. While the back of the various devices would be
white, the front bezel around the screen typically remained black — that
is, until now. It would appear that Samsung has been working on a
white bezel to integrate into the company’s future milky-colored
devices; a white Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus have emerged
in Vietnam and feature truly all white design. The specs of the Tab 10.1
and Tab 7.0 Plus remain unchanged, reports claim. No pricing or
availability details have been announced.© 2010-2012 The Little Ganesha® All Rights Reserved. Subscribe in a reader

Sankranti

1/The Myrtles Plantation-St. Francisville, Louisiana
The Myrtles Plantation is an antebellum plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the plantation is a bed and breakfast, and it offers historical and mystery tours.
Built in 1796 by General David Bradford, this stately old home on Myrtles Plantation is said to be haunted be several restless ghosts. Some researchers say as many as ten murders have been committed there, but others, such as Troy Taylor and David Wisehart, have only been able to confirm one murder at Myrtles. There are three ghosts that are seen over and over inside of the hotel. The first is a French woman that seems to wander from room to room in search of something. No one knows what it is that she is in search for. The second ghost sighting that is seen on a regular basis includes a ghost at the grand piano that practices one chord over and over again and the third ghost that is frequently seen, is a young girl who is only appears before the onset of a thunderstorm.
There are many other stories that go along with the plantation and the guests that have visited the hotel. Of course, these stories come with some level of skepticism but there have been documented pictures and videos of the ghosts that are said to haunt the hotel. If you are brave enough, you could simply book a night at the hotel, hope for a thunderstorm and do some investigating of your own!Via ghosteyes
2/The Tower of London- England

The massive White Tower is a typical example of Norman military architecture, whose influence was felt throughout the kingdom. It was built on the Thames by William the Conqueror to protect London and assert his power. The Tower of London – an imposing fortress with many layers of history, which has become one of the symbols of royalty – was built around the White Tower.During her long and illustrious 900 years, The Tower of London has developed a reputation as being one of the most haunted places in Britain.
Thomas A. Becket is “the first reported sighting of a ghost at the Tower of London.”During the construction on the Inner Curtain Wall, Thomas appeared apparently unhappy about the construction, and it is said he reduced the wall to rubble with a strike of his cross. Henry III’s grandfather was responsible for the death of Thomas Becket, so Henry III wasted no time building a chapel in the Tower of London, naming it for the archbishop. This must have pleased Thomas’ ghost because there were no further interruptions during the construction of the wall.
The Bloody Tower was the scene of the infamous disappearance of the two princes; Edward V (12) and Richard Duke of York (10), who are thought to have been murdered in 1483 on the probable command of the Duke of Gloucestershire, who was to be crowned Richard the III.According to one story, guards in the late 15th century, who were passing the Bloody Tower, spotted the shadows of two small figures gliding down the stairs still wearing the white night shirts they had on the night they disappeared. They stood silently, hand in hand, before fading back into the stones of the Bloody Tower. These figures were identified as the ghosts of the two princes. In 1674 workmen found a chest that contained the skeletons of two young children, they were thought to be the remains of the princess, and were given a royal burial not long afterwards. The story of the little princes is still to this day a heartbreaking story. They are “among the most poignant ghosts” in the Tower of London.View more
The most haunted area of the ship is the engine room where a 17-year-old sailor was crushed to death trying to escape a fire. Knocking and banging on the pipes around the door has been heard and recorded by numerous people. In what is now the front desk area of the hotel, visitors have seen the ghost of a “lady in white.”Those that have observed the ghosts of the Queen Mary often come in contact with male spirits. These spirits are said to wear various types of suits that resemble those that were common during the 1930s. These spirits are typically only seen in the area of the ship that once accommodated those that traveled first class. In another area of the immense ship, a female spirit has been observed.
There is one location on the ship that is considered to be exceptionally haunted. This is the location identified as ”Room B340″. According to the history of the ship, a terrible and violent murder occurred in the room. As a result, it is believed that the room has a heightened level of paranormal based activity. There are many spirits that are believed to haunt this ship. The greatest mystery lies in sheer amount of ghosts that are believed to be a part of the ”Gray Ghost”.

The Waverly Hills Sanatorium (or Sanitarium) is a closed sanatorium located in southwestern Louisville/Jefferson County, Kentucky. It opened in 1910 as a two-story hospital to accommodate 40 to 50 tuberculosis patients.
Waverly Hills Sanatorium like any other haunted hospital has a gruesome past and lots of horrifying stories. Waverly Hills is situated in south western Louisville-Jefferson County, Kentucky, it opened in 1910. The hospital was opened due to the outbreak of Tuberculosis in Jefferson County the hospital was just a small two story wooden building just enough to treat 50 patients. With increasing repairs needing to be done to the wooden buildings its was decided that a more durable and permanent building should be built. The new building was opened in March 1924.
The most known story about Waverly Hills is that of Room 502. A nurse, Mary Hillenburg, was found hanged in the door way of Room 502 in the year 1928, it is thought it was suicide as she had recently discovered she was pregnant out with wedlock. There is a story that Mary Hillenburg was impregnated by a doctor of Waverly Hills who was actually married. He tried an abortion which killed Mary Hillenburg in the process and to cover his back he made it look like a suicide.
Another nurse later took her own life in 1932 by throwing her self out of the window of the room that she worked in, Room 502. There are no reports of why she would have committed suicide but there was a rumour that someone did in fact push her. There are also reports that people have seen shadows move across the floor and walls in Room 502, so was this nurse pushed to her death by a ghostly spirit?Read more
6/The Whaley House-San Diego, California

In the 1960s, The Whaley House was designated as an official Haunted House by the United States Commerce Department. The only other official haunted house in California is theWinchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA. According to the Travel Channel’s show America’s Most Haunted, out of all the haunted houses in the United States, the Whaley House is the number one most haunted. The Whaley House grounds was reportedly haunted even before the house was built and the family moved in. The first ghost to be reported was the ghost of James “Yankee Jim” Robinson who was hanged in 1852. He was hanged on the property that was the site of a gallows before Thomas Whaley purchased the property and built the house. According to the San Diego Union, after the Whaley family moved in, they heard the sound of heavy footsteps moving around the house and concluded that these footsteps were made by “Yankee Jim”. Years later, many visitors to the house said that they saw the ghost of Thomas Whaley. A former keeper of the house mentioned that a little girl waved to a man who was standing in the parlor, but others did not see the man.
Moreover, four members of the Whaley family died in the house, including Anna Whaley. The ghost of Anna Whaley has been reported by visitors in the garden or in the rooms located downstairs. Furthermore, some visitors claimed that they have seen an apparition of a woman in the courtroom, but the description of her did not fit any of the Whaleys. In the 1960s, psychic, Sybil Leek, felt a presence of a girl. She was described as the great grand-daughter of Thomas Whaley, Marion Reynolds, who ingested ant poison. She is known to grab people’s arms. Not only is the Whaley House a home for the family even after they had died, it is also a home for their dog. A spirit of a dog was captured; the apparition of the dog was caught running into the dining room in the house. The Whaley family used to own a terrier named Dolly Varden. The dog died of natural causes and is said to lick the bare legs of women and is mostly seen by children.
For 300 years it has been the seat of the Townshend family. This Norfolk Manor House is said to have been haunted for over 300 hundred years. The Brown Lady being the most prominent ghost at the Manor. In 1936 using a magnesium flare a picture of the Brown Lady was taken by Captain Provand and Indra shira as they were taking photographs of the interior of the house for Country Life magazine.
There has been many sightings and documentation of the spectre of The Brown Lady through out the years. A Captain Frederick Marryat who was an author of sea novels is said to have shot the ghost and the bullet passed straight through the apparition and was imbedded in a door.
In 1926 Lady Townshend was staying at the manor with her son and his friend. The two boys saw The Brown Lady they took it as another guest at the manor it was only later they realised they had greeted a ghost on the staircase when they recognised her in a portrait that was dated from 1600’s in one of the bed chambers.
The famous picture on the staircase taken in 1936 of The Brown Lady was investigated by experts and it was deemed there had been no trickery involved.Read more
There have been several stories about ghosts of former Presidents revisiting the White House. However, the most common and popular is that of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln’s Ghost, or to others as The White House Ghost, is said to have haunted the White House since his death. It is widely believed that when he was president, Lincoln might have known of his assassination before he died. Lyndon B. Johnson is supposed to have spoken with the ghost of Mr. Lincoln. Johnson, standing in the second floor room that had been Lincoln’s office (Lincoln had used the Oval Office as a library), asked “You had a war, you had a Civil Rights movement, you had protesters and critics, what can I do?” And the story goes, the response was “Don’t go to the theater.” This story is a humorous yarn originated by an anonymous humorist on the staff of Bob Hope.
This particular structure was originally opened in the year of 1827. In its earliest days, this haunted building was used as a refuge for individuals that were not well off financially. Many have referred to it during this time as a “Poor Farm” based on this fact.
In the 1950s it became the Old County Home & Infirmary, and then in the 1990s was transformed into a set of shops and later an antiques mall. When the property owners, vendors and shoppers began to notice strange occurrences, a paranormal group was called into investigate and Rolling Hills’ spooky reputation was born. The Stanley Hotel is a 138-room neo-Georgian hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. Located within sight of the Rocky Mountain National Park, the Stanley offers panoramic views of the Rockies. Many believe the Stanley Hotel is haunted, having reported a number of cases of ghostly activity, primarily in the ballroom. Kitchen staff have reported to have heard a party going on in the ballroom, only to find it empty. People in the lobby have allegedly heard someone playing the ballroom’s piano; employees investigating the music supposedly find nobody sitting at the piano. Employees believe that particular ghost is of Freelan O. Stanley’s wife, who used to be a piano player. In one guest room, people claim to have seen a man standing over the bed before running into the closet. This same apparition is allegedly responsible for stealing guests’ jewelry, watches, and luggage. Others reported to have seen ghosts in their rooms in the middle of the night, simply standing in their room before disappearing.

"Things have been sorted out. The management has assured us that they would pay a part of due allowances by 20th of this month, a part of rest by 20th February and clear our dues by March," AS Bhinder, President of Indian Commercial Pilot's Association -- an association of erstwhile Indian Airlines pilots, said.

The pilots would resume their duties, he added.
Protesting non-payment of their salary and allowances, a section of Air India pilots went on a "no-pay-no-work" agitation from midnight on Friday.
A total of 52 flights, 44 from Delhi and eight from Mumbai, were cancelled causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers.
Top ICPA leaders--President Bhinder and General Secretary Rishabh Kapur--had two rounds of discussion with Air India CMD Rohit Nandan and top officials till late tonight.
They pointed out that the payment of productivity-linked incentive (PLI) and flying allowances have been pending since last August, sources said.
The flying allowances constitute 80% of the pay package. The airline management today paid the pilots their due salary of November 2011.
While most of the long-haul international flights to destinations like London, New York, Toronto, Tokyo and Chicago operated as scheduled, flights to or from Kabul, Kathmandu, Muscat and Abu Dhabi remained cancelled.
Confusion prevailed at the IGI Airport here with a large number of passengers queueing up at Air India counters to find out the status of their flights as several domestic flights were delayed and some others combined.
Sympathising with the pilots, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said "the employees have a problem, they have not been paid for one-two months. Allowances have not been paid for quite a few months now. We understand their problem but Air India's finances are in a bad condition. Their accounts were frozen yesterday (Friday)."
Singh said he would meet finance minister Pranab Mukherjee next week over the Air India issue.
"By the end of next week, may be we will be able to pay...I won't say all the allowances and salaries will be paid but most of it should be paid," he said, adding Air India had a long term financial problem.
Most of the flights cancelled were operated by Airbus A-320s, whereas operations by turbo-prop ATRs, Canadian Regional Jets and the long-haul Boeings continued as usual, airline sources said.
The agitating pilots reported for duty but said they were under stress due to the financial problems they were facing and therefore unable to undertake flight duties, airline sources said.
The ICPA, which has not given a call for the agitation, appealed to the agitators to return to work.
Australia's Shaun Marsh, left, walks back to the pavilion after being
caught for 11 runs of the bowling of Umesh Yadav. Umesh took three
Australian wickets on the second day of the third Test match, at the
WACA in Perth on Saturday.

12.10 Vinay Kumar continues the attack and Hussey on strike. Vinay
Kumar strikes with the first ball of the new over. Hussey cuts the ball
hard and the ball went straight to Sehwag at the point. It is the first
wicket for Vinay Kumar. Australia 339 for 7 with Hussey's dismissal.

Now Australia moves to 337 for 6. Siddle pushes the ball from Yadav to
the leg-side and takes two runs and he moves on to 30. Yadav bowls a
fuller length delivery to Siddle. Siddle plays a defensive shot. At the
end of 67 overs it is 339 for 6.

Yadav brought into the attack.

Just a few minutes, I will be right back for live coverage.

12.00 Dhoni brings in Vinay Kumar into the attack. Siddle is on
strike. Siddle edges the ball through the vacant slip cordon for a four.
Australia moves to 330 for 6. Siddle whips the next ball on the on-side
and takes three runs and he is looking dangerous now at the crease.
India has to rethink its strategies to take his wicket. A loud shout for LBW turned down by umpire Aleem Dar

11.55 It is Zaheer from the other end. Dhoni depends on the more
crafty bowler in the Indian side. Hussey pushes the ball to the point
and takes a quick single and moves on to 13. Australia leads India by
164 runs. Can India restrict the lead to 200? Zaheer comes round the
wicket for change of the angle. Siddle pushes the ball on the leg-side
and takes a single and moves to 18. Beautiful delivery from Zaheer.
Zaheer angles in the ball to Hussey and hits him on the stomach. At the
end of 65 overs it is 326 for 6 with Hussey on 13 and Siddle on 18.

11.50 Ishant continues and Siddle on strike. Beautifully bowled
delivery. Siddle nudges the ball forward and gets an inside edge which
misses the stumps and races to the boundary. Australia moves to 320 for 6
with Siddle on 13 and Hussey on 12. Siddle whips the ball on the
leg-side and it is another four. Siddle looking dangerous. He moves
quickly to 17. Australia 324 for 6 at the end of 64 overs.

11.45 Zaheer Khan continues and starts with a short delivery to
Siddle. Beautiful shot from Siddle and he takes two runs and Australia
moves to 313 for 6. Another beautiful shot from Siddle and this time he
takes three runs and Australia moves to 316 for 6.

11.40 Ishant continues and Hussey on strike. Hussey guides the
ball to the fine-leg for a boundary. Australia leads India by 150 runs.
At the end of the 62nd over Australia is on 311 for 6 with Hussey on 12
and Siddle on 4.

Ujwal Deole says "With four wickets, there is some semblance
of respite for Indian cricket fans. Indian economy is down for quite
long, the Indian team is the only thing they can hang on to!"

Peter Siddle comes in next with Zaheer and Ishant on fire. Siddle plays a
good shot and the ball races to the boundary. Siddle off the mark with
the four and it's 307 for 6.

11.35 Zaheer continues and he takes the wicket of Brad Haddin with
the first ball of the over. Once again a beautiful delivery which
pitches up and swings and Haddin just edges the ball to the keeper
Dhoni. Another wicket from Zaheer and it's 303 for 6. Can India bounce
back from this position?

11.30 Ishant continues the attack from the other end with Hussey
on strike. Ishant bowls a bouncer to Hussey. And Australia leads India
by 140 runs. Ishant probes Hussey outside the off-stump in this over.
Hussey drives through the mid-on and takes a couple and it's 303 for 5.
Hussey moves to 8. The ball just falls short of Dravid in the third

11.05 Ishant continues and Warner on strike. Warner smashes
the ball but it went high up in the air and Umesh Yadav completes the
catch. Wonderful innings comes to an end. Good catch by the young man.

10.35 The umpires and fielders are back in the field. Indians are
in a huddle. Will the Indians regroup together and restrict Australia
within 350 or so? But they have to take the wicket of Warner early.

Welcome back to the live updates. (post-lunch session)

So see you after lunch i.e. at 10.30 a.m. Australia leads India by 95 runs.

It is lunch.
The Indians had a mixed session on the field. If Kohli have taken the
sitter it would have been a perfect lunch for the Indians. Umesh struck
three telling blows before lunch and Australia from 149 for no loss (Day
1) moved to 256 for three. Indians bowled very well today particularly
Zaheer khan and Umesh Yadav.

9.55 Umesh continues and it will be last over before lunch.
Warner on strike. Warner whips the ball to the fine-leg and takes a
single and moves to 155. Australia 254 for three. Well stopped by Sehwag
in the gully and Clarke takes a single and Australia to 255 for three.

fifth ball of 49th over. Australia moves to 256 for three. And it
remains at 256 for three.

9.50 Vinay Kumar continues and Warner on strike. Vinay angles the
ball in to Warner and an half-hearted appeal from the bowler. Warner
whips the ball the fine-leg and takes comfortable two and moves on to
153. Australia 252 for three. Warner cuts the next ball to Tendulkar and
a single is taken comfortably and he moves to 154 and it is 253 for
three. Clarke to face the last ball of 48th over and plays defensively
to mid-off fielder.

9.45 Umesh to continue and Warner (146) on strike. Umesh coming
round the wickets to Warner. Warner taps the ball on the leg-side and
takes two quick runs. It is excellent running by the Australians. He
moves to 148. What an extra-drive from Warner and he takes three
runs. These three runs brings the 150 for Warner and what an innings
from this man. Clarke is off the mark with the two. At the end of 47 overs it is 250 for three (Warner on 151, Clarke 2)

9.41 Vinay Kumar continues with Warner on strike. A wide
delivery. Warner pushes the ball to long-off and takea a single. This
brings Clarke on strike. Dhoni sets an attacking field for Clarke. It is
time that Yadav and Zaheer bowl in tandem. Beautiful delivery from
Vinay which misses the stumps by inches and it is 243 for three.

Michael Clarke comes in. Umesh Yadav who is on song bowls a beautiful
delivery to him and Clarke pats the ball the mid-on fielder.

9.35 Umesh continues the attack. Ricky Ponting on strike.
Attacking field by Dhoni. Ponting plays a very good shot through the
point and gets his first four of the innings which takes him to 7 and
Australia to 242 for 2. Beautiful delivery from Umesh. A fuller length
ball and Ponting plays carefully. Umesh strikes once again and it is
now Ponting. The ball just scrapes through his defence and Ponting is
comprehensive bowled. Umesh is on song. Australia 242 for 3. Umesh has
taken all the wickets that has fallen in the morning. One wonders why
Dhoni has not given the ball to him to share with Zaheer.

9.30 Vinay Kumar continues. Warner plays the first ball of the
next over to the mid-wicket and takes a comfortable two runs. Beaufitul
delivery from Vinay and Warner pushes the ball to the long-off and takes
a single. Now crowd eagerly awaits as Ponting takes strike. He is off
the mark straightway with a comfortable three. and Australia moves to
236 for 2. Warner plays the ball on the on-side for another couple and
it is 238 for 2. (Warner 145 and Ponting 3)

The former Australian captain Ricky Ponting comes to the crease.

9.27 Umesh to continue and Warner on strike. Warner strikes the
first ball of Umesh over to mid-off and takes a comfortable single and
moves to 140. Will Warner hit his double century? Lucky four runs for
Marsh as the ball misses the stumps by inches and the ball races to the
boundary. Umesh gets his second wicket of the morning and Marsh is
gone. Laxman in the slips takes a good catch and India takes their
second wicket and it is 230 for 2. Marsh poor form in the series
continues....

9.25 Vinay Kumar continues and Warner on strike. Warner takes an
easy single of the first ball and moves to 139. It is 225 for one for
Australia. At the 3end of 42 overs Australia remains at 225 for one and
good over from Vinay Kumar.

9.20 Umesh Yadav continues and Marsh on strike. Marsh glides the
ball through the on-side for his first boundary. Australia moves to 222
for 1 (double Nelson). Umesh now comes over the wicket for Marsh. Interesting indeed. This is the highest score for Marsh (5) in this series. Another
bad delivery and Marsh guides the ball on the on-side and takes a
couple of runs to move on to 7. Australia 224 for one.

9.10 Dhoni brings in Vinay Kumar with Warner on strike. Kohli
fields the next ball at point. Vinay brings the ball in to Warner and
the ball skids through and hits Warner and the physio is on the field to
assist him. Warner is ready after getting treatment in his elbow.
Warner smashes the next ball for three runs and Australia moves to 217
for 1. It brings Marsh, the local boy, on strike. Marsh is off the mark
and Australia moves to 218 for 1. (Warner 138, Marsh 1).

It is Shaun Marsh at no.3. He is not in good form. Will this break
brings the Indians back in the game. A good over from Umesh Yadav as he
gets a wicket. It is 214 for 1.

9.05 Will the drinks break bring fortunes for India? It is Umesh
Yadav and Warner on strike. Warner smashes the short pitched delivery
through the point for a boundary. Warner taps the next ball to the point
for a single and he moves to 135 and Cowan on 74. Australia 214 for no
loss. At last it is a breakthrough for India and Cowan goes. Umesh
Yadav brings the ball in and Cowan tries to play it on the offside but
gets an inside edge and the ball goes through to hit the stumps. It is
214 for 1.

8.58 Cowan plays the first ball of Sehwag's over for a boundary.
Cowan moves to 73. Sehwag appeals and umpire is unmoved. Cowan cuts the
next ball to deep point and takes a single. Short pitched ball and
Warner plays the ball and takes a single. Australia 209 for no loss and
it is drinks. In the 15 overs of the morning session, Australia scores
60 runs. Australians are up by 48 runs.

8.55 Umesh Yadav replaces Zaheer Khan. Warner on strike. He
smashes the ball over the covers and takes a comfortable three. Umesh
pitches the ball up and Warner goes through with his shot. It is really
bad bowling from Umesh. Cowan pulls the next ball to the boundary and
Australian on song. Australia reaches 200 runs in just 36.2 overs. It is
202 for no loss. Warner on 129 and Cowan on 68. Cowan takes a single
off the next ball and once again Warner on strike. At the end of 37
overs Australia moves to 203 for no loss (Cowan 69 and Warner 129)

8.50 Sehwag continues and Cowan on strike. Cowan punches the ball and takes a couple. The throw is not good enough and the ball bounces awkwardly in front of Dhoni and Cowan survives. A good over from Sehwag only two runs and it is 195 for no loss.

8.45 Zaheer the best bowler in the Indian attack continues. What
a nightmare for the bowler, Kohli drops a sitter. The ball just angling
in and takes the outside edge and Kohli a good fielder drops a sitter.
Warner survives. Zaheer bowling beautifully bears the brunt. Indian
agony continues..... Warner drives firmly straight to Gambhir at covers.
An eventful over from Zaheer and Australia remains at 193 for no loss.

8.43 Dhoni brings Sehwag into the attack. Interesting change. Are
Indians really missing Ashwin or Ojha? Cowan plays a shot to fine leg
and takes a couple of runs and he moves on to 58 and Australia to 189
for no loss. Widish delivery and Cowan cuts the ball through the point
for a boundary. It is indeed a bad ball bowling outside the off stump
giving width for the batsman. At the end of 34 overs it is 193 for no
loss with Cowan on 62 and Warner on 126.

8.40 With the way Australians are batting, Dhoni has to rethink
his strategies. Zaheer continues and Cowan on strike. Outside edge and
doesn't carry to Sehwag at gully. Wonderful delivery from Zaheer. Zaheer
induces Cowan to play the shot and the ball misses the outside edge.
Next ball Cowan glances the ball to the fine leg and takes a single.
Australia 187 for no loss. Well bowled by Zaheer and a very good over.

8.35 Ishant continues and Wwarner plays the ball on the off-side
and Gambhir stops the ball by diving to his left. Ishant bowls a probing
length to Cowan in this over. Cowan whips the ball off his hips and
Vinay Kumar fields and a single is taken which moves Australia to 182
for no loss. . Warners just smashes the ball over the mid-wicket for
another boundary. Australia moves to 186 for no loss with Warner on 126
and Cowan on 55.

8.30 Zaheer continues. Cowan and Warner are playing contrasting
cricket. Cowan plays a waiting game and Warner just smashes the bowler
all around the park. Cowan runs the next ball to the third-man and takes
a couple to move on to 53 and it is 180 for no loss. Next ball is a
beauty from Zaheer which just misses the outside edge of Cowan. Cowan
takes a single of the last ball of 31 overs. Australia 181 for no loss
(Cowan 54 and Warner 122).

8.25 Ishant to continue and Warner on strike. Ishant now coming around the wickets. Warner smashes the first ball of over to the mid-off boundary for a beautiful six. It is his third six of the innings. Warners
plays the next ball to the mid-on and takes a quick single and moves on
to 122. For Cowan Ishant comes over the wicket and angles the ball away
from the left-hander. Cowan plays a defensive shot and it is a
mis-field in the covers and he easily takes a single and moves on 51.
Ishant finishes the over with a beautiful delivery to Warner. The ball
just misses the bat and through to Dhoni. Australia remains at 178 for
no loss.

8.20 Zaheer continues and Cowan on strike. Zaheer bowls a probing length to Cowan. Cowan plays a shot through point and reaches his half-century. It is the second fifty of Cowan's career. Just two runs of the over and it is 170 for no loss.

8.15 It is Warner on strike and Ishant continues. Good delivery
to start the over from Ishant. Good delivery, good leave and good carry
to the keeper Dhoni. Indians are bowling much better this morning but
they have to bowl in the right areas to get wickets. Warner smashes the
next ball through the mid-off boundary for a four. An interesting statistics Australia has scored more than 500 runs without losing a wicket since Sydney Test match. At the end of 28 overs it is 168 for no loss with Warner on 115 and Cowan on 48.

8.10 Zaheer continues and Warner goes through with the shot and
it beats the point fielder to reach the bounday. Warner scores his first
boundary of the morning and moves to 108. Warner pushes the next ball
to Umesh Yadav at mid-off. Warner times his shot to the leg side and
takes three runs comfortably and Australia leads India by three runs.
Cowan plays a defensive shot and still on 48. Zaheer ends the over and
it is 164 for no loss.

8.08 Warner on 104 and Cowan on 46. Ishant from the other end
just angles the first ball of the over across Cowan and Dhoni collects
it. Cowan once again leaves the ball alone outside the off-stump. An
outswinger to the left-hander. Indian bowlers has to attack on the first
session. Cowan just taps the ball to the square leg and Zaheer fields.
Cowan takes couple of runs and moves on to 48. Australia moves to 157
for no loss.

8.05 Zaheer Khan bowls a beautiful delivery which hits the
outside edge of Cowan and runs away through the slips for the first four
of the morning. Australia moves to 154 for no loss. Cowan just taps
Zaheer on the on-side for a single. Zaheer just angles the ball into
Warner and he just plays it safely to the point fielder. Australia
remains at 155 for no loss.

8.00 Ishant starts the proceedings with Cowan on strike.
Australia trails by just 12 runs. Beautiful delivery from Ishant just
hitting the bat and first run taken of the morning and Cowan moves to
41. and it is 150 for Australia. Australia remains 150 for no loss.

The plays starts with the players are in the ground.

An interesting tweet from Manikantan Menon is "Are we still alive".

We will wait and see. The game starts exactly at 8.00 a.m. IST.

A PTI report quoted Lara as saying on Indian captain Dhoni
“I think he deserves a chance. He had success in the World Cup, the T20
World Cup, and the 50 over games. I think given his achievements so
far, he deserves another chance and everyone should come out and support
him.”

Will it be a repeat of Melbourne and Sydney or be different. Millions of
Indian fans expect a turnaround by this beleaguered side. Can the
Indian bowlers led by Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma skittle out
Australia early and try to make a match of it. Or will it be the same
old story of Australia decimating India as happened in Melbourne and
Sydney. India having lost 6 matches abroad including four in England will have to make a match out of this.

An interesting statistics. Australia has scored more than 700 runs
losing only a wicket right from the Sydney Test till Day one of Perth Test.

Premjit Lakshminarayan says "Is this a T-20 game ? M.S why wait till
2013 ? What about the golden oldies retirement plans. Rohit Sharma -
wait for only few more years please."

Let us have a look of what happened on Day one as a slideshow.

Australia takes the first day's honours convincingly
having bowled out India for a meagre 161. In reply, David Warner makes a

At least 10 people were killed when a stampede broke
out in Hussain Tekri near Jaora town in the district on the occasion of
Chellum, a Muslim religious observation that comes after Moharram.

The
stamped broke out when a huge crowd gathered at Hussain Tekri’s main
entry to take part in Chehllum were pushed backward by the police to
regulate their entry after midnight.

“Six women and
four men were killed in the incident,” Additional Superintendent of
Police (ASP) Rajesh Vyas said, adding they were crushed under the weight
of many persons present at the spot.

While bodies of
10 persons were found at one place, two others were traced slightly
away from the place where the incident took place.

However, police suspect that they might have succumbed due to severe cold.

Usually,
persons suffering from mental illness visit the place with a belief
that the visit to the sacred place will cure them of their problems.

Ratlam

What is Laser Race?

LaseRace is a timed event.
The lower the time, the better your score. The object is to navigate
the Maze without breaking a beam. However, if you do, that’s OK. You are
simply penalized with time being added to your score.

Ripley’s LaseRaces challenge you to expertly navigate your way through dozens of lasers without hitting a single one.

How Does it Work?

You enter the mysterious maze and as you cross the starting point and the room ahead of you is filled with brilliant green lasers radiating from the walls.
Expertly navigate through the web of lasers, going over and under lasers as quickly as possible to reach the end of the Maze.
As you navigate beyond the final laser beam, you press a stop button which completes your challenge and determines your time/score.
