For most readers, this is not news: Sarah Palin endorsed Doug Hoffman candidate in New York’s 23rd district congressional race. What is also not news to many is that Hoffman is not GOP, but in the Conservative party. Many believe this is an effort to send a message to a conservative base for Palin’s 2012 that she is conservative first, GOP second.

Massachusetts’ Public Option Foreshadows National Health Care Debate

For a while now, I have been drawing comparisons to Massachusetts and its one-party rule and the federal government with same party one-party rule. Now, one of the hot-button topics on the American public’s plate has been healthcare, and whether to reform, overhaul, or leave it alone. During my research, I came across an article written almost 2 weeks back that took a look a healthcare in another state, compared to Massachusetts, and the author’s problems with the healthcare issues in Massachusetts. Please note this author (Wendy Button) has written for Boston Mayor Menino, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and our very own president, Barack Obama.

For a while now, I’ve been annoyed by the unemployment figures. How could we be hovering around the same numbers, and yet be losing jobs EVERY month. I had started to piece together some research, and information on this subject, and someone else was able to do a better job of it, AND WITH PICTURES!!!

To me, it appears he is sticking his finger in the air, and waiting to find out what the polls say. If they go his way, then he’ll push. If they’re divided, then he’ll stall. If they’re against him, he’ll claim that was what he wanted, and go in that direction. Or is it something else? In his rough-and-tumble upbringing in Chicago-style politics, is this just a set-up for a bigger play? Either way, it is expending WAY too much citizen energy and expense. He needs to step up and do what he was hired to do: LEAD.

Honesty in the “Healthcare Debate”?

Can’t we all try to act like adults here? Seriously. We are talking about an issue that affects nearly all Americans in some way. Either they are without healthcare (who knows what that figure is), don’t feel like paying for it, hate the high premiums, work in the system, are confused by the bureaucracy, or supply some element of the system with a service or product that might be affected by changes. In any case, this is an important topic.

The MPRI is now a recognized party. Congrats!

This morning, the Rhode Island Board of Elections confirmed that the Moderate Party of Rhode Island (MPRI) has presented in excess of 23,589 certified signatures of registered voters in Rhode Island, qualifying the MPRI to become a recognized political party for the 2010 elections. The MPRI can now operate as a peer alongside the Democratic and Republican parties in Rhode Island.

The MPRI is on the verge of making a difference in Rhode Island politics.

The MPRI is well on its way to being recognized as a legitimate 3rd party option in RI. Their moderate and responsible stance will stand to attract unenrolled independents as well as disenchanted members of both of the two large parties in the state.
