It's been a while since I written here. Just came back here to keep this active since I just happen to read about someone I cared a lot about.

Couldn't believe it has been 10 years since I last written in here. Are there nothing significant to talk about over the 10 years? Definitely there were! And is so much that I couldn't imagine 10 years just past by just in a blink of eye and here I am feeling that I am restart all over again. Still can't fully wrap my mind that I'm already not in Hong Kong, I think I left my half my heart there. At the same time now my heart is already somewhere, I'm still trying get myself together.

Probably will spend sometime to write about how I am now or recently, for now, I'm just trying to feel my new life is getting to, and my heart is full again back to somewhere near to people I love and being able to have time and attention for them.

It's been quite a while since the start of my first ever Summer break in Hong Kong, life has never been this good so far~! So much free time for myself, although I'm working in an advertising agency as an intern. This summer has been filled with so much music too~

I've seen Kenan performed here in Hong Kong as per my previous post, I attended the Hong Kong's electone festivals. For the past 2 Saturdays I even attend live band gig events~! My first experiences of these in HK, quite awesome I would say =D

For last week 4/8/12 @ Fringe Club I went to this event called Goodnight Moon live party, bands that performed:

I enjoyed really much, it's my first time seeing live bands since I lived in Hong Kong for almost 1 year. Trail have a great vocalist~ songs are good too. Band Band are always so good to make the whole party practically go crazy and start having fun =D Love them!! G La G La kinda alternative for me but non of the less, is cool~ have some new idea for their performance, I heard someone that was nearby where I was standing actually said they're really good~ I didn't get to catch Atomic Bubbles as I'm always need to be in time to catch the MTR and my friend too, to catch the bus to go home~

Ha, my favorite band in this one is A Roller Control, their style is disco electro or disco punk, dance music from the 80s, perhaps is because of that, as someone that was born in the 80s, I love this kinda songs too, simple and just gets you moving with it =D They do not have a proper album yet I think, I wish they do, I really love some of their songs, especially Story Of The Fly, Sandmann and Waiting~ I love Sandmann's tune a lot!!! LUV!! But I don't understand what's the song is about....is in German.... T_T

Frankly I'm not very familiar with this band, but someone I know from A Roller Control was once a member in The Yours, and I come across the release party from the Goodnight Moon live party, they gave out the pamplets of the album release party, so there I go, I went with a friend (she left pretty soon) so I was alone for quite a long time~ but it was really enjoyable anyway =) Their songs are nice, I'm currently very addicted to Over.

I just came back from Harbour City just now. Reason? I was there to watch Kenan's performance =) He's here as guest performer for Electone Festivals tomorrow.

To those who's not sure who Kenan is, his full name is Kenan Loui Widjaja, from Indonesia. He was the winner of Yamaha Electone Concours and Asia Pacific Electone Festivals in 2008.
He also performed with his group of friends call Young Boys in Idonesia Got Talent.

It's been so long I have last seen any electone performances since I came here. It was great and nice meeting Kenan, he's such a nice guy =)

Good feeling is good

It's been a while I last felt this way. The feeling of being here, the feeling of really exist, not surreal. It's weird, after so many months being right here in this land of Hong Kong, I never really felt I'm actually here. Vague, I know. Do not ask why, cause, I don't know.

I went to a sharing session at Culture Club today, a few presenters shared a song that they are "all over" and their presentation should be as long as the duration of the song too. It was good, brings back some good old memories of my favorite kind of songs too, the good old days, and I do still listen to those songs even now, I guess the time in me never changed. I like the environment, really, although I'm never really belong in the crowd, but somehow I felt, I belong more to those kind of crowd. Cozy place, everyone drinking, chatting.

Sometimes I just felt, I have put myself into a time and space I don't belong to but somehow after a while now, I felt, even I'm to return to where I was, I have no regrets. But I won't be the same as before anymore even so if it's to happen. Maybe I should just get myself around this "part of the world" more, to regain my sanity.

Anyway, after the event, I left rather early, although I have someone I know there, but he was too busy with people he know and it was raining, so I left before the rain got any heavier. True enough, it pour like cats and dogs when I reach the ever famous Central Mid levels escalators. This longest outdoor escalator connects some western and central district of HK island. We can take an escalator up but walk our way down.

I walked alone, enjoying it really, that kind of feeling, I'm not sure why, but seems I told myself something and I gave myself a smile and just walk all the way down this long stairways.

That is kinda the line that kept appearing in the book I just finished reading.

This semester I admit, I read lesser, reason being I only go down to the main campus like 2 days a week and one of the day I don't even have time to have lunch break, class all day.

So last week I actually pick up a lot of books and today I pick up a few books too when I went down to return my dvds and I happen to already finish reading one of the books.

It's "Company" by Samuel Beckett, it's the longest prose he written apparently.

Quite interesting one, as he kinda says to someone who wanted to make this into a play that we when we are born, we started to die.

It only took me like an hour to read this book, but some parts touched me, as I go on, my mind...I think back in time....now I feel....oddd....calm but sad. Well, is ok, good one, try to read this book if you have a chance, short but interesting.

Apparently this book is in CityU library since August 1984!
It was published in 1980, anyway it is, it is older than I am!
States there it cost UK dollar 1.50~ haha how I wish books are priced that way too now.

Rainy day~

It's been a while since I last blogged. It's now week 6 i think in a new semester for me in CityU and everything just got on track quite ok, last week was a horror week =P And that of today is Thursday which suppose to be my off day but I normally go for a sit in class. Well anyhow, is a relax day for me, to get some things done in the morning, and get my mind some off time too.

Well, haven't been going out much for month to be exact now, had a muscle torn at my left leg joint near the groin area and made me quite unable to walk much for weeks. Got stuck out in the cold when I try to go somewhere, when I walked out, the temperature outside literally frozen my injured muscle that I'll be in so much pain and all I can do is just stay at the same spot until the pain goes away and I'll be able to walk again, and that normally takes an hour or so.

LOL, never felt walking was so much of an effort before. Learnt from this now. It's getting better, just still slight pain, thanks to the medicines Jing brought me from Malaysia, things are going good. I think I'll be on the streets again in a week or 2, whee! Going mad already cause stay indoor too long! Only went to TVB to watch the International Chinese Singing Competition last Saturday, that felt like release from jail~!

Today is not cold actually, just 20 degrees celcius, but the rain made the environment so humid and annoying~ had to on my heater anyhow. Feel so lazy to even walk out to class later, but I will! Today's class is my energy enhancing class!

Shall talk more next time, when I have the mood to sit down and write again~

North Point : Street Markets

I wanted to go out on my own for some adventures for a while already, but I just couldn't get my butt off this chair. So finally this morning I woke up and I tell myself I will go out!

Where to? Somehow, I love to go to street markets at Hong Kong, especially those with a lot of things to look at (or buy) and cheap.

Actually there's one near my area, which located at Pei Ho, Sham Shui Po (SSP), but recently I have been to SSP for so many times, for meals and dessert, so I decided to go elsewhere. I looked up on net for some other street markets available and I found Chung Yeung Street Market which is located at North Point. So off I go, MTR my way to North Point.

I took the long way to escape the crowd. I decided to go to North point by Yau Tong interchange, when I reach north point, as I was walking, someone tapped on my shoulders... when I looked up, was my lecturer, Nadim! Hong Kong's really small huh!

Actually the last time I went to North Point, I had egglets, at King's Road.

But this time around I exited the MTR station by the A2 exit, and I look for road sign boards. I found out there's another street market there~ Marble Road Street Market~!!

There's actually a lot of things to buy there, and cheap.

I got myself

a pair of jeans (hkd39)

3 pairs of socks (hkd10 for 3)

a turtle neck long sleeve tee (hkd49)

1 roll of musical notes designs wallpaper (hkd5)

That is in total HKD103 = about RM42~

I was like omg! That's one street market! And I haven't found the one I wanted to visit!

So I kept walking, on the way finding that, I actually went into another shop and bought another checkered shirt for hkd20~ that is like RM8

So there goes RM50!

Can you believe it? RM50 you can get a pair of jeans and 2 tops already? and 3 pairs of socks?

So I continue walking, and I found King's Road playground, more like a park. So I went in and sat a while. Packed my stuffs into my backpack and wore my jacket. Drank some water and check my map.

The Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department. Super random findings really!

As I continue searching for Chun Yeung St. Market, I realized I was walking towards the wrong direction, so I turned back, but I decided to walk with another road parallel to where I have been walking, turns out, it was King's Road, lol~

I walk along that road and I saw a shop clearance, I almost wanted to buy the pair of Nike shoes there, HKD200 only~ but in the end I didn't. And then I saw McD, I decided to go in and have my really late lunch and the per usual McChicken burger + small coke + small fries (HKD18) as other sets of value meals here are all quite expensive, the cheapest value set would be Nuggets or Fillet O Fish, HKD20 per set. Anyhow I went for a burger instead as it'll be more filling~

Oh ya, before I went into McD, I actually went into this Salvation Army family stores which sells a lot of 2nd hand stuffs and then make it as donation. They even have used clothes tagged as "TVB"! I wonder, is those like, from the dramas or what =P

And after the McD late lunch, I finally found Chun Yeung St. Market.

As I read from the net, it was call as Little Shanghai long time ago as you can get many goods here.

I find it very interesting as it is a street market where both sides have shops and stalls but there's tram track in the middle, so occasionally, you see trams passing by, and ringing the bell "ding ding" =D

And so from this Street market, I got myself some vege and tomatoes (3 for hkd10 - 2 kind of vege and some tomatoes) and also some prawns for hkd10 too~! That is like RM8 can get myself some ingredients for 2 dishes already~

It's almost 6 when I left Chun Yeung street and headed towards MTR station again, and then only I realized, both street markets are just side by side haha~ divided by a flyover~ no wonder I can't see it! And guess what? As I pass by Marble St market again, I got myself a pair of new sneakers for HKD99 (RM40) which consider quite expensive already, since I can get much cheaper at Fa Yuen St, but the design is nice so I bought it. So there, almost top to toes with RM100~ =P

By the incoming of new shoes, means old ones have to go, this time...2 go off, bye bye

Got back to hostel about 7pm~ had a great dumpling dinner cooked by my tutor Cherry!

Time and space...

It's been 2 months since I arrived in Hong Kong.

I would say I have already settled down. I felt I have already kind of blend in to the pace of life her or at least are quite comfortable with it.

Studies are alright, but I wished I could be stronger and ignore those unnecessary stress and focus I should do. I'm trying to.

Someone told me I looked like I have slowly regain my energy, regain a life.

I do really hope and feel so too.

I don't know how to explain how surreal it is and how grateful I am just to be in this place.

Although I don't get the fresh air I used to get back in Malaysia, but I am gaining more energy.

Slowly seeing more things around here too.

People, places, and all sort of things.

Actually 2 months is short, but why do I felt super long...

Perhaps I have done a lot compare to what how I was in my routine-ish days...?

I guess, and I hope so.

First week at SCM

It's a few weeks late, but I just got my laptop like last week and got things sorted out. So now I have some time to post up some stuffs~

My first week at School Of Creative Media (SCM), City University of Hong Kong, was an O-Week~
As in orientation week. We each are given 2 white cube box and have to do something about it.

I have group up with 3 other people and come up with this,

Hehe, it was fun setting up this small little installation art~ People are suppose to destroy the installation and rebuild it again, to bring out the message, to destroy something is easy and preserving is actually easy as well if you put a heart into it.

SCM is located inside this new building call Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre or we call it CMC. This is an awesome building design by Daniel Libeskind.

I have been learning electone for 3 years+++
I guess I have very much improved in the sense of playing especially my pedalling skills.
Now my left leg is even more lively then my right leg, it was the other way round years ago~
Thanks to pedal training, haha!

Let see, since last year, I have managed to play a few harder songs, although they're not perfectly played but I'm still happy I manage to play them!
Years ago I would say those songs are just unplayable for me =P

Memphis Belle

I never like much of battle/war movies much actually.
But yesterday, I was off, and my dad was watching this movie, and so I sat down and watch too.

This war movie wasn't like any others that normally about the senarios or history of a certain place. This one is about the war plane "Memphis Belle" or just "Belle" as the soldiers would call her. It is a World War II bomber with all young crews onboard, they have to finish their 25th and final mission in 1943, to Bremen bombing a Nazi supply factory, after that they can all go home. I wouldn't say much about the story, you have to watch it yourself, worth the time.

After watching it, I really feel like mentioned by families of the soldiers in the movies, there's many other ways of solving political problems other then war.

I searched up info about Belle. It is still now at National Museum of the United States Air Force. It was the first US bomber to complete 25 combat missions with its crews intact. Maybe it's a lucky plane after all =D I wish I would one day gets to see it.
Do check out its OST too, it includes the famous tune Danny Boy or Londonderry Air.

I am now too reading an e-book written by the pilot of Memphis Belle, Col. Robert K. Morgan who passed away in 15 May 2004. This book "The Man Who Flew Memphis Belle" was published in 2001. He would visit Belle every year he said in the book. I guess now, Belle would miss him already.
