Metronome:
* Portrait and landscape mode.
* Tempo from 10 to 400 Beats Per Minute (effectively 2.5 to 800).

* Specify a factor between one quarter (0.25) and double (2.0) the current tempo (Useful when practicing complex sequences).
* Tap the tap pad to set the tempo.
* Visual beat feedback in addition to clear and crisp audio pulses.

Sequencer:
* Create your own library with any number of sequences. A set with the most commonly used time signatures is included by default.
* Create sequences with any number of bars.
* Each sequence can set a countdown, a start tempo, a variance and whether the metronome stops at the end of the sequence or repeats the sequence from the beginning.
* Each bar consists of one or more time signatures and can set a tempo and a variance starting on any beat. A bar can be set to play up to a 110 times.
* A time signature can have between 1 and 64 beats over a dotted or undotted denominator (examples: 7/4, 2/8., 9/32, 1/2., 3/1).
* A time signature can be subdivided into beat groups, allowing you to set an accent on any beat you wish, since grouping beats affects metronome playback. Metron differentiates between the first beat, stressed beats and unstressed beats, so you always know where in the bar you are.
* Each beat in a time signature can be further customised into a rhythmic pattern (like triplets or swing, or most any pattern you like). You can assign a custom color, sound and volume to any beat or any rhythmic component of a beat. You are in control. You can keep it as simple as you like, or make it as intricate as you need.
* Mix bars of different meters and tempi at will, and interpolate between tempi between any two points in a score.

* Plays any pitch from octave 0 to octave 8
* Reference pitch: A4 = 440Hz
* Adjustable per Hertz or per cent level

Beyond that, PageZephyr 2.0 allows searching in a specific area of interest across these different file types, to merge, edit and combine content for easy creation of new and relevant information pertinent to that topic. PageZephyr 2.0 also responds to detailed boolean queries by using AND, OR and NOT to further refine the search.

Charlottesville, Virginia – Travis Allen, founder of iSchool Initiative and its president and CEO, knew the second hardest thing to creating a new company was successfully funding that company. Reston, VA – About Objects will be offering an updated version of its most popular iPhone development training course, revamped to include full coverage of iPad development. The new 5-day, hands-on course, is entitled Introduction to iPhone and iPad Development. It’s the latest in a series of iPhone development training programs developed at About Objects that has proven popular with developers from companies such as Apple, eBay, Genentech, Intuit, Raytheon, NASA, and Yahoo!. Classes are priced at $2,495 ($2,195 with early registration), and will run initially in Cupertino, California April 24-30, followed by a class in Reston, Virginia May 24-28.

There are two other courses in the series: ANSI C Programming, and Objective-C for Beginners. This allows developers to ‘right-size’ their training by choosing the mix of classes they need, so they don’t have to cut any corners on their training. The curriculum is designed to give students a solid grounding in iPhone development, with an emphasis on what actually happens under the covers. The class helps developers more fully understand how Objective-C, Apple’s frameworks, and their own code works, giving them the tools to diagnose any problems that crop up, and to continue learning on their own.

Classes are taught by two well-known and highly regarded iPhone developers: Jonathan Lehr, founder of About Objects, and Aaron Morse, developer of numerous hit iPhone apps including TapDefense, and Trenches. Both have extensive training backgrounds that include years of teaching beginner-level, intermediate, and advanced development topics centered around Apple’s Objective-C and Java frameworks.

The classes make use of a unique About Objects ‘building-blocks’ training methodology. This approach ensures students get a solid grounding in the fundamentals, as the curriculum takes students through a series of carefully pre-planned steps, each building on knowledge gained in previous steps. The next time he asks for Guillaume, he will see Ms. Joubert in a list of hints and quickly recognize it (using recognition memory) as that of Guillaume’s mother.

Sunnyvale, California – In response to a survey conducted by the Enterprise Desktop Alliance, 260 IT administrators from large organizations with both Macs and PCs responded that Macs are less expensive than PCs to manage. In some categories such as troubleshooting, user training and help desk calls, three times as many administrators said that Macs cost less to manage.

29% of the respondents cited lower total cost of ownership as one of the key reasons their organization buys Macs. Overall 45% cited lower total cost of ownership, ease of technical support, or both, as a significant factor in their Mac purchases.

The full survey inquired about buying plans, IT management and administration issues, and the cost of managing the systems. Related to the cost of managing Macs, the survey asked the respondents to estimate the relative cost of a number of factors including: software license fees, time troubleshooting, user training, help desk calls, system configuration, and supporting infrastructure (servers, network, and printers).

“Administrators in organizations that have both Mac and PC platforms have the experience to determine whether managing Macs is less expensive,” said T. Reid Lewis, CEO of Group Logic, and president of the Enterprise Desktop Alliance. “The members of the Enterprise Desktop Alliance provide products and services that make deployment and management of Macs easier to do.”

The respondents were given the option to select from a range of cost differences. Not only did the administrators predominantly say that Macs were less expensive, in all but one category the majority of administrators who said Macs cost less said they were more than 20% less expensive to manage than PCs. Of those who asserted that PCs cost less, the majority always asserted that PCs were between 0 and 20% less expensive to manage than Macs.

The respondents noted the following:
* Software license fees – 23%-PCs Cost Less, 47%-Cost the same, 31%-Macs Cost Less
* Time troubleshooting – 16%-PCs Cost Less, 19%-Cost the same, 65%-Macs Cost Less
* User training – 16%-PCs Cost Less, 36%-Cost the same, 48%-Macs Cost Less
* Help desk calls – 16%-PCs Cost Less, 29%-Cost the same, 54%-Macs Cost Less
* System configuration – 25%-PCs Cost Less, 24%-Cost the same, 50%-Macs Cost Less
* Supporting infrastructure – 25%-PCs Cost Less, 38%-Cost the same, 37%-Macs Cost Less (servers, network, printers)

About the Survey:
Conducted from December 15, 2009 until January 15, 2010, over 520 individuals from around the world responded to the online survey. This survey sought the perspective of enterprises and large-scale installations such as universities and government agencies. We excluded from the results all but the respondents from organizations with both Macs and PCs whose sites had 50 or more servers or over 100 Macs. Relative to management cost questions, in our reporting we excluded the responses of those who selected “Don’t know” or “Not involved in cost calculations,” which left 260 respondents for this section of the survey.
