Hair Looks for the Oscars

Everyone is guessing what glamorous looks will be rocking the red carpet this Sunday. Oscars night is the best night to show off the best new looks for hair.

On the list, texture, buns and height. Calie Noble, master stylist from the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in Los Angeles gives his predictions for Sunday’s red carpet and gold statues to come.

“Hair is taking a very retro inspired look at the moment,” says Calie. “But with a modern twist.”

That often means destructing solid, sleek styles and breaking them down a bit by adding texture and simple imperfections. With this in mind, Caile expects a multitude of texture for this weekend’s Oscars. He envisions hairstyles to have a subtle softness to them while also appearing disheveled.

Calie’s award season ifs:

If it's straight and down - it will be polished but fluffy in texture and soft with volume.

If it's down and bouncy - it will not be over curled - just a little movement but with height in the crown.

If it’s an up-do - it will be buns/chignons with braids to give it a boho feel or it will be kept very classic. Imperfections like teasing for texture or deconstructed will be added to appear soft and disheveled.

FACE:

For a light and dewy finish, Amy mixed smooth operator™ Amazonian clay Illuminating serum with smooth operator™ Amazonian clay tinted moisturizer with SPF 20.
Then she applied tarte's cheek stain in dollface for a sheer candy pink with a hint of shimmer starting on the apples of her cheeks.

EYES:

For a wash of apricot color, she swept soft sienna from tarte's femme naturale eyeshadow palette all over her lids followed by soft petal pink along the crease.

LIPS:

Today I received a very special email. Breast Cancer is a cause very close to my heart, especially after watching my best friend battle this horrendous disease this year. Chrissy Teigens makeup for the 2012 Grammys

Song of the Year went to Adele; but the award for the nights best makeup should go to Chrissy Teigen. The Sports Illustrated model and soon to be Mrs. John Legend, shined at the Grammy’s with her radiant glowing skin and effortless smokey eyes. Her makeup artist Amy Hollier described how to get her look!

“Chrissy’s look is ethereal and subtly sexy,” says Amy. “It’s a look you can easily recreate and wear all year round.” And here’s how!

EYES:

First prime the entire eye area with Laura Mercier Eye Basics in “Wheat." Then softly blend Chanel Illusion D’ombre eyeshadow in “Illusoire” over the lids with your finger.
To create Chrissy’s shimmery grey smokey eye, use the two darkest shades from Chanel’s Quadra Eyeshadow Palette “Enigma” on the lids. Use the lightest color in the palette to highlight the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes.
Follow up with Diorshow Waterproof black mascara.
Finish the eyes by painting a thin line along the lashline with Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes liner in black. Under the lower lashes smudge in Chanel’s Long-Lasting Eyeliner in “Marine”.

FACE:

Prime the skin with Mac Strobe Liquid Lotion followed by Dior’s Forever Foundation for flawless coverage.
To brighten the eyes, use Lancome Effacernes Undereye Concealer. Finish the skin with a light dusting of Laura Mercier’s translucent setting powder.
To add some color, swirl Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in “Amused” and “Flush” to the apples of the cheeks. Highlight all the high points on the face with Lorac TANtalizer Baked Bronzer.
Lastly to give those gams a golden glow, apply Lorac TANtalizer Body Bronzing Luminizer.

Simply add a touch of Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Negligee Pink 256.
