Cheska, Ziggy and I were recently invited by Peacocks to style some of their store mannequins. So last saturday the three of us headed to SM Southmall, which is where their first store is located. We were given one mannequin each to style. It was an incredibly fun experience working with two of my favorite people to come up with our individual looks. I learned a lot, especially how difficult it is to actually put clothes on a mannequin.

Last tuesday I was invited by Nivea to Seventh High at The Fort for their KissMark event. It was to promote their line of lip balms, and featured a dating game with Mark Alejandro, Online Cosmo Philippines Hunk for November. Too bad I decided to take a walk around BHS, because when I got back, the event was over. So sorry, Nivea!

I was invited by Penshoppe to attend the Fan Conference for Mario Maurer, the Thai actor who is the brand's latest endorser. It was held at The PICC and the event was hosted by VJ Utt. Blush, the first Pan-Asian girl group also graced us with performances. Also present during the event were Penshoppe brand ambassadors Victor Basa, Mikael Daez and Solenn Heussaff.

REVLON MAKEOVER WEEKEND

Last Sunday I was invited by Revlon to have a free hair makeover at their main office, which was coincidentally just around the corner from where I live. Being a hair color virgin, I jumped at the chance to finally get myself blondified. Luckily, my appointment was at the same time as my sister, BJ Pascual, Ziggy Savella and some other friends.

I forgot to take a before photo, but here is photo of my hair slowing turning yellow. It was surreal.

Before heading to the Garage party inside Republiq, I attended the Mango Fall/Winter 2011 fashion show which coincidentally was just also happening in Resorts World. I wasn't able to take that many photos because I was far back, unfortunately. The clothes were amazing though.

KUVVA: A NEW WALLPAPER EVERYDAY

A pretty simple concept, but amazing nonetheless, Kuvva (PC and Mac) is an application that changes you desktop wallpaper each day. Each week the application features a different artist, who provides a set of 7 high res images for use. This week's images are c/o Raymond Lemstra whose artwork resembles robot-like faces, which i find really wonderful.

I think this is a nifty way of discovering new talent, as well as make your desktop less boring, since there's always some new image to look forward to each day.

Last saturday, despite the ghastly weather, some friends and I decided to visit this much talked about place in Ortigas called Subspace. It's by Wilmer Lopez and Thor Balanon, who also own furniture, etc. store called Space Encounters (which I have yet to visit but am dying to do so one of these days). When I arrived, all i could say was "wow". The place is gorgeous! And of course they were playing k-pop music which just made the place even more adorable. They serve coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches, which were actually pretty good.

ROBIN TOMAS FOR PENSHOPPE

Last monday, I was invited to Dusit Hotel to witness Penshoppe's latest endeavor - a collaboration with New York-based Filipino designer Robin Tomas.

Mr. Tomas won the Best Reinvention of the Men's T-shirt award at this year's Supima Design Competition in New York. His design was then made available for sale as at Bloomingdale's.

Penshoppe Brand Director Alex Mendoza has this to say about the collaboration - "Robin Tomas has a fresh, well-cultivated and very wearable aesthetic. It goes in sync with Penshoppe's sophisticated casual message"

The contract signing

Robin's capsule collection for Penshoppe is set to launch in the early half of next year. They will be for both men and women, and his Supima design will be the springboard for his designs. Can't wait!

Meet Electra Heart

And no, it's not Marina + Electra & The Diamonds now. Electra is Marina's alter-ego for her upcoming album (think Beyonce and Sasha Fierce). Electra, according to Marina, "epitomizes and embodies the illusions, lies and death of American ideologies involved in the corruption of self".

Anyway, she has a video project called Electra Heart: The Start and recently released part 1 of said project featuring a new song called Fear & Loathing:

This all seems pretty gimmicky to be honest. But I have complete trust in Marina Lambrini Diamandis, who I consider to be one of the best songwriters of her generation (see: Oh No! and I Am Not A Robot). Considering I adored all the songs from her previous album, it's safe to say I am pretty stoked for her next one. Can't wait!

This Sundance darling feels like this year's 500 Days of Summer, but more understated and personal. It stars Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones, and it "explores how a couple faces the real challenges of being together and of being apart." In it, a British student (Jones) falls in love with her American classmate (Yelchin), but are then forced to separate when she has complications with her visa. They then embark on a long distance relationship, and try their best to overcome the barrier and make the relationship work.

Really looking forward to this. And do I hope they screen it at our local cinemas.

NEW MOOS

So this morning I was surprised to find out that the Moo cards I ordered a few weeks ago have arrived!

This is how the ShowCase business card holder opens. Pretty neat!

These are the cards I ordered. I only uploaded two images, but if you wanted you could use a different image for each card in your order. But I'm too lazy for that. haha

Really awesome packaging design

These are the Moo Stickerbooks I ordered a few years back, with just a few stickers left.

While I was at it, I also requested a sample of all their products. I think I want those rounded cards next!

I got the cards for free by being registering to about.me, the caveat though is that you can't remove the moo.com advertising in one corner unless you pay full price for the cards ($19USD), and also though the cards are free you still have to pay for shipping. Not bad though.
