The Lawrence brothers of Disclosure have released another brilliant dance track. “When a Fire Starts to Burn,” is more of the signature funk that you expect from this UK duo. Built around a looped sample (Is it me or does the guy sound like Eric Thomas?) this house track will have you dancing your Friday away. Their album “Settle” is scheduled to be released June 3rd and will be one of best house albums released in recent year.

Recently we’ve gotten a chance to listen to Portugal. The Man new album ‘Evil Friends,’ and judging by the head nods and swaying bodies around the cafe- it told us they have a solid album on their hands (We need to see Holy Roller (Hallelujah) live). They released their title track, Evil Friends, Purple Yellow Red and Blue, and now their third single, “Atomic Man,” is out. The video has gotten some trippy, yet stylish visuals thanks to director David Vincent Wolf. Seriously, these guys videos are always bugged out.

The band’s Danger Mouse-produced seventh album, “Evil Friends,” is due out June 4th via Atlantic Records. Do yourself a favor and pre-order “Evil Friends” [here].

It’s amazing how luck and timing play a part in getting an artist to break. That is the case with Clare Maguire. Her debut album, ‘Light After Dark,’ is unquestionably one of the best pop albums in recent years and even with backing making list such as BBC’s sound of 2011, NME’s one to watch, and our Fresh Faces of 2010, Maguire is a relative newcomer to the casual fan. Hopefully that will change soon. Maguire releases a demo of her song, ‘Changing Faces,’ which is about getting over a love and also thanking a friend for being there through her ups and downs. Subtle and very powerful. The bonus track is a cover of Joni Mitchell’s, ‘Last Time I saw Richard.’ Stream both tracks below.

Lee Hazlewood‘s Detroit based 1960s girl group music has been remastered for our listen pleasures. The album’s standout track, Silk N’ Honey is a smooth listening track, that will transport you back to the 60s. Make sure you have this blasting from your speakers when you are heading to your local burger joint and drive-in movie. Let me go on record and say Sam Smith needs to release an entire album of acoustic tracks, scratch that, a double disc of acoustic tracks. Smith’s vocals are always amazing and he is steady moving up the list of an artist that we would love to see perform live. Last week Smith released the video for his contribution to Disclosure‘s ‘Latch.’ Chilling, dazzling, and mesmerizing.
