I’m proud to announce that tonight we are going to release a new expansion-pack for RCRN, we decided to give a turn to our classic harsh and unsaturated style, so no more Germany 1950 colors, say welcome to the long awaited “RCRN PONIES and CANDIES“!
We worked on this expansion-pack in our super-secret underground office located in Pakistan for almost 2 months, but we finally can say that it worth, the pack will feature a new sharpening system, a new paint-scheme Van Gogh inspired and obviously flying ponies and sweet candies everywhere!

Hello guys, RCRN 2.1 is out since two weeks, I only want to notify you that we almost finished the work on the upcoming version, that will probably be called 2.1b, this upgrade will feature some bug fixes regarding torches, caves, foggy weather and much more; but also an injector files revamp and an upgraded version of the autoinstaller. You can consider this a “preparation” patch for the very big version 2.2 that will feature a total new *TOP SECRET* feature.

RCRN v2.1b will be out during the next week!

I want also tell you that we just upgraded our SkyrimNexus page, and now we can recieve donations from kind users. So if you feel generous and you want to send us some bucks, you can do it via this link (Paypal secure).
Just to clarify, each $ sent will be used only for RCRN related activities, like paying webhost. We also planned the creation of a new, (and more community-friendly) official website, that will be online during the next weeks.
I also want to thank all our fellow users that left on our boards a lot of nice comments, thank you for all the love showed, RCRN is a community driven mod and users are our engine, we are proud to run a great and active community like this!

After the two very big updates that we provided during the past months (v1.6 and v2.0) we took some time to make our mod a bit more stable, RCRN is always tested for a great amount of hours before each release (250 hours for v2.0) but happens that we miss something, this happens because Skyrim is an huge world and keeping track of everything with a small team like ours it’s not so easy. Anyway with the shining new VERSION 2.1 we fixed almost all the reported issues, and we have also added some enhancements like the new revamped dusks!

Here is the changelog:
- solved an issue regarding markarth interiors, especially affecting shrine of talos
- Windhelm is now using a NEW and brighter interior lighting setting
- solved a shadow flickering issue experienced in the player owned houses
- solved an issue regarding the blacksmith in whiterun that was using a too dark imagespace
- clouds on certain weathers now stand out more
- added a new look for certain dusks

RCRN 2.0…The week after!

The long awaited Realistic Colors and Real Nights v2.0 has been released a week ago in its full glory, with an huge changelog and with some new great features like the Dynamic DOF, the new Enhanched Weather System, Hybrid Shaders v2 and the Adaptive Lighting technology (if you haven’t grabbed it yet, here is the download a link!).

First I really want to say that RCRN v2.0 is not like all the previous versions, it’s more advanced, we modified a huge quantity of variables to offer a wider range of uniqueness and immersive weathers, like the revamped snow storms and the new foggy weather. To fully appreciate the beauty of the new version, you’ll have to play it for real, not just “test it”.

After having said this, I really want to thank the whole RCRN dev team that put all the energy into development and testing the new release, we are speaking about over 300 hours of development and about 250 only for beta-testing, probably no other mod out there can claim to have tested their own mod as much as we’ve done, this is because with each version we try to release a totally bug free software in order to not break your gameplay experience but to enhance it as much as possible, so guys I really want to thank RPGWiZaRD and ZoCks for all the help they provided to me and to this mod, they did not only beta-tested like hell and helped me to keep this mod on a really high level, but they also behaved as good friends. To me, this is the most important thing. I’m really glad to have them around and you guys should be the same, version 2.0 is also an achievement of theirs. Thanks RPG, thanks ZoCks!

Before finishing this note I want to drop some stats about RCRN v2.0:

7000 new active subscribers on the Steam Workshop during the past week
6000 new downloads from SkyrimNexus during the past week
4571 torches tested by ZoCks the Torchborn during developing
3000 new downloads from our official website during the past week
300 hours of development
250 hours of beta-testing
236 dragons harmed during the new lighting system development
100 new endorsements on SkyrimNexus during the past week
79 people claimed that their life changed after downloading RCRN
21 bottles of vodka drinked by RPGWiZaRD during beta testing
3 developers: aLaaa, RPGWiZaRD and ZoCks
2 official mascottes: Bob the Tree and Bill the Dragon, both used heavily in our savegames
1 loved project: Realistic Colors and Real Nights

This is really impressive data for me, and a really big achievement for the latest version.
I also want to thank all our users for all the support provided and for all the kind words that they dropped on our forums and comment boards, we also want to invite you to join our “always on” livechat where we are happy to speak with you and share our thoughts!

I’m really happy, RCRN is “selling” like hell on the Steam Workshop, and this is an incredible thing because we are one of the few mods that we can’t put all our *core* files in the Workshop due the folder limitation!

At the moment we are keeping the 1st place in 3 Steam charts from about 24h, in front of famous mods like SkyUI and Dovahkiin Hideout, this is really a big achievement!

In this particular post i want to thank especially the “old school” community, the people that have followed Realistic Colors and Real Nights from the very first releases on SkyrimNexus, your suggestions, your help, your critics and your friendship have been the most important thing that happened to me and to RCRN.
I’m really proud to have you as my playerbase.
In particular i want to thank: RPGWiZaRD, Imzo, Feowen, PatimPatam, AlexanicaMeiosis, spanian77, Warpy, FrozenAffairs, mitchhunter, Eriko, SLuckyD and many others…

I want also to say welcome to all the new users that are landing in our community from the Steam Workshop! Keep in mind that this is a very open community project, your suggestions (and also your complaints) count!

First, I’d like to thank you all, the community, for all your support. Together we make a good team, I love hearing your suggestions and I think the main ingredient of a successful mod is an alive and active community. To achieve this we are not only working on the mod but also on the linked services, in order to offer you the best possible experience. In the last few days we added the multilanguage extended documentation, the FAQs and VGA guides but also revamped the mod page on SkyrimNexus in order to keep it really easy to use and quick to read. We have also planned some other “community” features that will be activated during the next few days, a dev-blog to keep you updated on what we are doing and a live-help/community-chat for helping newcomers and simply let it serve as common place where the community can unite and chat! (the comments board on Nexus isn’t the best place to “chat” with other users ).

Obviously we are also working on the next release of RCRN, these days we’ve been working on 2 new presets that will be released as “open-beta” during the next few days, an “extra-dark” preset that will feature a really dark and scary night and a “greenland” preset with a slightly different palette with more vivid colors while keeping the cold and harsh Skyrim climate, as usual don’t expect something like ENB-WorldofWarcraft from us!

New version will also feature an update to Hybrid Shaders for both the Classic and Legacy presets in order to achieve a better daytime blending with dusk and dawn.
We will also add a bit of blue tone to the skybox, that at the moment looks a bit too washed out!

At this time we didn’t decide on any release date yet, we will probably decide that sometimes after Tuesday when the CK will finally be released!
