Dear Brothers Joseph and Carl (Giove and Calleman):

In the name of the Heart of the Heavens and the Heart of the Earth, greetings to you. In the name of the Maya National Council of Elders, Spiritual Guides of Guatemala, we address the following to you for your great magnetic connections at the global level:

The Spirit of the Maya Nation and the Spirit of Mother Earth make us look for ties of friendship with all peoples of the world. The Maya Prophecy tells us “ …We will meet for we are one like the fingers of the hand”. We all are children of the Earth, we are flowers of the garden of our Creator coming in different colors, in different shapes, in different sizes, with different aromas; speaking different languages, and each one worshiping and meditating in their own way to the same Creator who has different names according to their own culture.

We hope this communiqué reaches all institutions, in private sectors as well as governmental ones; landowners, scientists, and all people in general. Brothers and sisters, there has been over 500 years of extermination in the face of the earth, extermination of humans, extermination of our brother animals and ancient trees, every day at a faster speed. The elders from the National Council of Elders and Spiritual Guides of Guatemala are keepers of mystical and millenary knowledge. Like the birds, tirelessly in their flight, they live to see the prophecies fulfilled. We want to make all people and governments in the world conscientious, and have them analyze and reflect at the situation of the planet in the present time. Let us start by remembering that the Americas were a paradise 500 years ago. Virgin forests, cities of beautiful animals, cities to an innumerable variety of colorful birds, flying in freedom; they provided food for everyone. The waters were abundant and pure; and the people, they lived in their own traditions, guarding their cultures and conserving the beauty of Mother Earth. Our ancestors lived to be over 100 years old, free from contagion and illnesses. They were respectful and obedient to the laws of our Creator.

Let us talk now about our present times. We enjoy new advances in technology, inventions that make everyday life easier for us, we all use them, but the negative side is that we are finishing up our forests, and contributing to the contamination of the planet, the rivers are drying out, the waters are being contaminated. Our crops are affected by plagues as well as plagues killing our animals. We are threatened by contagious illnesses, incurable illnesses unknown in the past. Very harmful are the use of chemicals, the insecticides, transgenic seeds, etc. And most of all, these days, the nuclear testing: nuclear bombs and a great deal of war weapons, and the war in itself sterilizing or killing the planet Earth and affecting all living beings. Many people are homeless, children begging in the streets, others are involved in prostitution. Predators are on the rise. Dead people appearing daily in the streets, kidnappings, extortion, shootings in the schools, parents killing children, children killing children, parents raping their own kids. All this is a direct result of the contamination. There is no respect; no respect for life. The authorities sell themselves. The justice can be bought or sold.

Now lets speak about the future. We, the traditional Mayan elders, and all indigenous peoples in the world, meditate on the future. We don’t think only for today, the present, we think for tomorrow, for our children, grand children and future generations. We see a dark shadow approaching, a shadow that will cause a lot of harm. It is the great contamination. All this is due to man’s creation. We are digging our own graves. Wars are being transported to other countries; they reason in their speeches it is on behalf of freedom, but the result is more slavery. They speak that it will bring new development, but the result is more hunger for the underdeveloped countries. If we continue like this, the time will come when there are no more soldiers to form battalions. The Maya National Council of Elders of Guatemala ask all nations of the world – their governors and the governed ones – to put a stop to the contamination; and to the big and small enterprises, to find alternatives. We don’t want any more wars, no more death, no more nuclear testing, no more chemicals, because the warming up of the planet is unbearable to Mother Earth. If we don’t change, sooner or later, she will strike back with millions of lives lost.

Our Creator created us here over the face of the earth to worship him, to love and respect each other. We all are equal, we are flowers of the earth, in different sizes, of different colors, with different songs, with different smell, but all looking at our Creator, honoring him with different dances, different music, different ceremonies. We all plead to him,
we are his children, he is the creator of all that exist, all that we see and all which is beyond our senses. He has given us our life with an intelligence to do well. Brothers and Sisters of all colors, holding hands around the planet on May 22nd 2007, let us reflect on this, let us meditate in our own way, in our own language, according to our own culture or religion, because we have only one Sun to shine upon us equally, one air that we breath and gives us life, one water that we drink and becomes blood in our veins and all live on Mother Earth. A Wave of Unity July 17-18, 2010:

Creating the intention for the unity consciousness
of the Ninth Wave of the Mayan calendar!

Creating the intention for the unity consciousness
of the Ninth Wave of the Mayan calendar!

In recent years there has been a radically increased interest in the Mayan calendar and especially its end and so many ask what this tells us about the future. Surprisingly, many people ask this question as if the answer had nothing to do with themselves or the choices they make. Few seem to have considered that the fulfillment of the cosmic plan will require of them to step up to the role of co-creators with this divine plan. This is not to say that human beings can just create anything they want at any point in time. The waves of consciousness brought by the Mayan calendar still defines the framework of our existence and what we may or may not be able to create in any given era. Yet, only the creativity that is consistent with a new wave will be favored and this will again be evident as we enter the ninth, and highest, wave of the Mayan calendar system. It is thus pertinent to ask what consciousness the ninth wave will create and what it will require of us to be able to step up to becoming co-creators with this wave.

To address this we need to consult the ancient Maya and look at their only inscription, which describes the meaning of the end of their calendar, the Tortuguero Monument 6. This says that at that point in time the nine-step entity, Bolon Yookte, (Fig 1) will “descend.”* What this means in a more straight language is that a combination of nine cosmic forces, nine wave movements, will simultaneously manifest fully. In this ancient Mayan way of looking at the meaning of the end of the calendar there is thus nothing that speaks of an end to the world. Rather, what the end of the calendar system is all about is a completion, or fulfillment, of evolutionary processes that have been going on from the beginning of time and led the world to what it is today.

These nine cosmic forces are the nine evolutionary progressions (Underworlds), each through thirteen energies that the prophetic Mayan calendar system is made up from, a system, which significant events in biological and historical evolution correlate extremely well with. The different progressions each develop a different frame of consciousness and currently we are most strongly influenced by the eighth wave. It is however the ninth and highest of these wave movements that will bring about the final shift to unity consciousness that will culminate as the calendar comes to an end. I feel it is imperative to realize that these nine cosmic forces are not acting separately from the human beings, but through their influence on us and so they will only manifest inasmuch as the humans align with them. I feel we also need to consider that the co-creation of this highest level requires that we are truly committed to its purpose. It is in preparation of this somewhat mysterious ninth wave that I am encouraging the celebration of the Conscious Convergence, July 17-18, 2010, as a point to focus on aligning with the highest and decisive wave of the Mayan calendar system, the ninth wave.

Many people have an intuitive sense that the end of the Mayan calendar will bring a shift in consciousness. Yet, it is rarely clearly stated or explained exactly what is the source of such a shift, how it will happen or what would be its nature. Maybe however shifts in consciousness are actually a little less mysterious than many people tend to believe. In fact, shifts in consciousness have been happening from the beginning of time and continue to happen whenever there is a significant energy shift in the Mayan calendar, such as between any of its days and nights.

Despite all these previous shifts in cosmic history I feel however that there is something very special and significant with the new consciousness that may be expected to be generated by the ninth wave.

To begin with, for all that we know it is designed to bring a shift to unity consciousness where the human mind no longer will be dominated by any dark filter (see Fig 2). We will in other words become “transparent” and I believe this is the particular consciousness – seeing reality the way it is with no separation - that so many are waiting for. Not just any consciousness, but one that transcends the dualities of the past and aids the human beings to see the unity of all things. The reason that this kind of unity consciousness can be beneficial to the planet, and to mankind, is that it is one that leads to the transcendence of all separation (between man and woman, man and nature, ruler and ruled, east and west, etc). I feel that without the manifestation of such a shift in consciousness the world will sooner or later come to an end. People with a dualist and separating consciousness are somewhat like cancer cells in the body of the Earth with little regard to its larger whole and would eventually generate a collapse of its ecosystem. Only a shift to unity consciousness will forever stop the unchecked exploitation of the Earth and on a deeper level make us understand that we are part of creation and need to live in harmony with it. But will such a shift just happen automatically?

As mentioned above global consciousness shifts have their origin in the resonance with the cosmic forces described by the Mayan calendar. Hence, even though some may temporarily have experienced altered states of consciousness it is only in as much as a shift is induced in accordance with the cosmic plan, as we may understand this from the Mayan calendar, that it will be here to stay. Thus, only with the ninth wave may a shift to unity consciousness be regarded as something whose time has truly come. This is the wave that will cap off all of the previous evolution of mankind and build the bridge that will allow us to enter the new world that will follow upon the end of the calendar.

On the other hand the student of the Mayan calendar will know that in order for a consciousness shift to manifest the human beings must be in resonance with it and at some point at least subconsciously have made a choice to align with. Hence, a large-scale consciousness shift is not something that can happen against the will of the human beings. Especially at the highest levels of evolution, such as the ninth, it can only happen through human beings that choose to serve as co-creators. Unfortunately many have been led to believe that there is some physical event to wait for, such as a pole shift, Nibiru, sun flares, or a galactic alignment, resulting in a passive attitude that has made the Mayan calendar seem disempowering and events as being outside of their power to influence. I believe however that, as the Hopi are saying, “we are the ones that we have been waiting for.” If we make the commitment to do so we can co-create unity consciousness with the ninth wave.

As many readers of this article may have experienced there are spiritual practices, healing techniques and methods for personal development that in fact do cause temporary shifts in consciousness and the experience of unity of all things. Yet, what seems to be missing for such transformations to play a positive role on a larger scale is the commitment of a critical mass of people to create a world based on such unity consciousness. The idea behind the Conscious Convergence, July 17-18, 2010, is thus to create a powerful intention to do so. There is in fact one thing that is always in our power to do – and in the power of all human beings to do - and this is to intend to create and manifest unity consciousness. As the student of the law of attraction will know, all manifestation begins with an intention and without an intention there is no result.
The Conscious Convergence – A Wave of Unity is thus for all those who intend to manifest unity consciousness. (It may be important to point out that it is not about intending any shift of consciousness, but one to unity consciousness). It is for those who authentically will say: “I intend to manifest unity consciousness.” Whatever you believe in, whatever worldview you have, it is still in your power to intend such a shift for yourself and others. The proposed dates are timely for setting the intention to do so in that it leads up to a manifestation of unity consciousness during the ninth wave in alignment with the cosmic plan. Without such a widespread intention it is doubtful whether there will ever be such a shift on this planet either individually or collectively.

Based on the creation of such an intention in the Conscious Convergence it seems natural that people will also want to perform ceremonies and participate in spiritual practices that are manifestations of such a unity consciousness and seek whatever ways are possible to make permanent its results. In fact the Conscious Convergence should be looked upon as the beginning of a process toward deepened unity consciousness that never stops. This is the kind of commitment that I believe will be required. For those desiring to fulfill the cosmic plan, the Conscious Convergence should be an entry point to co-creating the ninth wave and something we should never want to drop out of. To start following the Mayan calendar on a daily basis from this point within the framework provided by the Ninth wave may in fact by itself be a significant factor for developing unity consciousness. Only with deadlines do projects become real and the calendar provides us with a time frame within which this is to be accomplished.

It seems important that manifestations linked to the Conscious Convergence are planned very carefully and express this new unity consciousness so that they are not just thoughtlessly applied expressions of the old world we have been living in. If, for instance, artistic performances are part of the celebration, it seems wise to consider whether these are enhancing the experience of unity of all or if they create an experience of separation between the artists and the audience. The same may apply to the performance of ceremonies if the leader is not truly inclusive. A good example of a ceremony that is an expression of unity consciousness is in my mind when Jack Sully in Avatar is taken up as a member of the people of Pandora. Furthermore, if for the generation of unity consciousness valuable spiritual practices are used it may be considered whether irrelevant worship of founders or gurus can be excluded. Maybe silent and low key common practices are in fact the most powerful manifestations of unity consciousness, but regardless it is important that participants walk their talk and do not recreate dominance structures. How to do this would be for local organizers to decide and here it is only emphasized the importance of approaching this issue with fresh eyes and much attention paid to details.

The name Conscious Convergence alludes to the Harmonic Convergence, a mind-opening gathering on August 17-18, 1987 (1 Imix and 2 Ik) and so it is important to point out the relationship between the two and why after so many years there is a second one, July 17-18, 2010 (13 Eb and 1 Ben)**. The important commonality between the two Convergences is that they both are (essentially) placed in time at a doubling of the 8th and 9th wave movements of the Mayan calendar and hence reflect energy shifts that herald the respective transformations of consciousness brought by these waves. Put in other terms: What the Harmonic Convergence meant to the quantum jump to the eighth wave the Conscious Convergence will mean to the quantum jump to the ninth wave.*** (Hence, it can be understood as a 2nd Harmonic Convergence). Or, if we include the seventh wave and its pre-wave (see Fig 3) for comparison, we may see that it will mean to the preparation for the ninth wave what the European Renaissance meant to the quantum jump to the modern world of industrialism. What is different now, and a challenge for the Conscious Convergence, is that this step cannot be said to be in the interest of separate individuals, but rather of all of humanity.

From these parallels (Fig 3) we may see that the Conscious Convergence is not by itself the beginning of the ninth wave, which does not start until Mar 9, 2011.**** Rather this celebration initiates a wave, a pre-wave, that precedes and paves the ground for the ninth wave and directly leads into it. The Conscious Convergence is thus tremendously important as a point for creating the intention of unity consciousness even if this will only be fully developed later with the ninth wave. Maybe it will in fact be humanity’s last chance of setting such an intention, which almost with necessity must exist at an early point if we are to elevate ourselves above the economic chaos that we may expect in the years ahead. In my own view the hope for the future lies exactly in learning to surf on this ninth wave and so transcending, rather than getting caught up in, all the dualities and conflicts of lower Underworlds. If this is so it must also be expected that the Conscious Convergence will meet with much resistance from all those forces that are defending the ego-based operation of the old world and the massive hierarchies this has generated. As a small example of this a commercial media industry has now emerged around ”2012” where it is speculated about what is going to happen as if this were independent of the intentions and creative direction people choose. Naturally we will also come to be faced with our own cynicism and apathy towards the state of the world and thoughts will come back to us as: “this is not possible”, “the world will not change”, etc and it is for this reason a strong commitment will be needed.

The Conscious Convergence is meant to be a very inclusive event that can be embraced by everyone who intends the emergence of unity consciousness regardless of his or her views about the Mayan calendar or otherwise. It is about positively and constructively using a window of opportunity and so participation in this only requires an insight that the consciousness shift must come out of the evolutionary processes that we are currently part of. Thus, a shift to unity consciousness is not something that will simply drop down on us from the sky at some date in the future, but can only evolve from the point where we are at the present moment. It is a basic tenet of the law of attraction that providence only moves when you are committed and so far the commitment for a transition to unity consciousness has not surfaced on a larger scale or even been proposed previously.

For this event to be successful in generating the intention for the shift to the consciousness of the ninth wave a massive participation in it will be desirable also at preparatory stages. The preparatory efforts have to be shared by the millions that intend for a shift in consciousness to take place. To bring it about a collective effort will thus be needed and already making a choice to participate is part of creating the intention that has been discussed here. Initially, there will be a great need for people to take initiatives to disseminate the call for the Conscious Convergence around the world. It is important to approach organizations to have them embrace it. Then there will be the need for people to make their unique contributions known through public web sites, social media and other networks. There will also be a need for funding of many aspects of the activities and for staff, which can be done through to www.CommonPassion.org, a 501c3 non-profit, public benefit corporation. Then, there will be a need for creative planning of events and the creation of a network between these. Individuals and organizations who wish to participate in this global program are invited to join the discussion for particulars of the shared intention and to connect with others around the world that will be co-creating this intentional wave of unity consciousness. My own view is that this is the last chance that human beings will have to truly align themselves with the cosmic plan. It is now or never and if you do not think that the Conscious Convergence has something to do with you you probably have not studied the Mayan calendar seriously enough. Hence, there can be no proxies for your participation in the transformation of the world as the calendar comes to an end. The final descent of Bolon Yookte, the Nine Waves (Nine Lords of Time or Nine Underworlds, or whatever name you prefer) is upon us and it is not without reason that the number nine is sacred in so many spiritual traditions. Nine is the destiny number of humanity and so it will be your own choice whether you want to be part of co-creating this destiny.

** The Conscious Convergence is not based on tzolkin days, but rather on the fractal time acceleration of the nine waves. Yet, we may still pay attention to the tzolkin day of the event. Thus July 17, 2010 is 13 Eb, one of the more mysterious day signs that is typically translated as The Road or Grass and, since it is linked to the number 13, this day is very typical of the Eb day sign. Road usually refers to the road of life or the road up the cosmic pyramid and grass refers to a grass roots event. Typically people born in this day sign are those that have the concern for seven generations into the future, do much good, but do not to seek the limelight for themselves.

*** This is not how the Harmonic Convergence was originally understood by Tony Shearer and José Argüelles. Shearer, a Native American, who first proposed the dates, saw the Harmonic Convergence as the end point of Thirteen Heavens starting AD 843 and the Nine Hells (52-year periods) that had followed upon Hernan Cortez landing in Vera Cruz in 1519 and Argüelles promoted this scheme in The Mayan Factor. While this may have served as a guiding prophecy that intuitively led to identifying the dates of the Harmonic Convergence as August 16-17, 1987 (1 Alligator and 2 Wind) it in my view hardly serves as a theoretical understanding of why these dates were actually energetically important. Thus, the Harmonic Convergence was defined more mythologically than scientifically, since at the time the knowledge of the reality basis of the Mayan calendar was almost non-existent. We now know from Mayan sources that 13+9 is not to be regarded as a linear sequence, but that each of the Nine Underworlds was made up from Thirteen Heavens (Thus, according to the Mayan Books of Chilam Balam “the nine lords of time (Bolon-ti-ku) seized the thirteen lords of time (Oxlahun-ti-ku)” and so creation has an integrated pyramidal rather than linear structure. Whether people are aware of it or not, the entire evolution of the cosmos since the Big Bang has also been meticulously mapped out in light of the Mayan calendar and verified by massive empirical evidence.

**** I have probably contributed myself to the confusion that reigns when it comes to the beginning date of the Universal wave movement and have given different times for this. What we know is that the calendar develops according to nine wave movements, where the longest one goes back to the birth of the universe, and they all differ from one another with a factor of twenty. According to such a fractal view of the prophetic Mayan calendar system the ninth wave would then be only 234 days long made up of 13 different uaxaclahunkin (18 day) periods. This places the beginning of the ninth wave at March 9, 2011 and that of the preceding wave (Conscious Convergence) at July 17, 2010. These are points in time that are expected to mark significant frequency increases and accelerations of time.

As we approach the time when all the nine waves, developing at different speeds, will simultaneously come to manifest fully (28 October 2011, 13 Ahau) there is thus going to be quite complex patterns of overlapping of these waves. The Sacred Calendar rounds of 260 days will still have an unquestionable energetic existence and so these, as part of this overlapping, would continue the three stage rocket into the birth of the new world that started on 9.9.9 (Sept 9, 2009, please see http://www.calleman.com/content/articles/999_and_the_mayan_calendar.htm). For this reason the dates of the beginnings of the two next tzolkin rounds, May 27, 2010 and Feb 11, 2011, will also remain as important times for celebrating alignments with the cosmic plan and potentially very important for the preparation for the Conscious Convergence and the actual ninth wave respectively.

A DIAGNOSIS OF JOHN MAJOR JENKIN'S FUZZY ASTRONOMY by Marcos Adrián Villaseñor

The well-known New Age apologist John Major Jenkins has made a name for himself by promoting a fuzzy notion of astronomy.

In astronomical terms "galactic alignment" means absolutely nothing. In astronomy the term alignment is used to describe a lining up of celestial bodies within a gravitational system. For instance the sun and planets often form alignments, in which one can see two or more planets in line with the sun. The term alignment cannot be meaningfully applied to galactic conjunctions or galactic transits; to do so is plainly misleading. But this is exactly what Mr. Jenkins does in order to support his “alignment” theory and sell New Age books.

There is no significant astronomical event On December 21, 2012. What Mr. Jenkins promotes as a "galactic alignment" is in reality three separate events that span over 200 years, none of them will happen on December 21, 2012.

John Major Jenkins claims that the "galactic alignment" of 2012 signifies the solticial sun's conjunction with the galactic equator (an imaginary line created by modern astronomy). But this conjunction happened on December 21, 1998. This conjunction also happens twice (approximately every 13,000 years) in a Precession Year or Great Year of slightly less than 26,000 years, and not like Mr. Jenkins claims once every 26,000 years.

Mr. John Major Jenkins also makes the false claim that the midpoint of the solsticial sun's transit through the Dark Rift of the Milky Way will be on December 21, 2012; this is false, as the sun will be at the midpoint of its transit through the dark Rift of the Milky Way on December 21, 2031.

As if making two false claims was not enough John Major Jenkins makes a third false claim; that his "galactic alignment" of December 21, 2012 coincides with the conjunction of the solsticial sun with the galactic center. But this conjunction will take place on December 21, 2225.

So why does Mr. John Major Jenkins make three false claims in order to support his non-astronomical and very fuzzy 2012 "galactic alignment”?

The answer is that John Major Jenkins does not fully understand the problems associated with the apparent movement of the constellations known as the Precession of the Equinoxes. This was made evident to me in the two conversations I had with him on the subject. If he really understood precession, he would have realized that by a simple substitution of our modern and more accurate value of Precession for the Mesoamerican value of Precession, one ends with the solsticial sun smack in the middle of the Dark Rift on December 21, 2031 (sans fuzzy astronomy), alas while his reconstruction of Maya myths vis a vis the Milky Way have some very strong foundations, his purposeful promotion of a fuzzy and astronomically meaningless concept of "galactic alignment" needlessly discredits much of his research.

In a response to an e-mail on the subject last year, Mr. Jenkins wrote to me: "As I explained in my subsequent email in response to your mistaken assumption, an extremely high degree of accuracy is not a requirement of my alignment theory."

My “mistaken assumption” was to explain to Mr. Jenkins that by not substituting the modern value of Precession for the Mesoamerican value he had shortchanged his own theory. But If as Mr. Jenkins claims, a high degree of accuracy is not required for his theory, then he should not insist on saying that his “galactic alignment” happens only once every 26,000 years on December 21, 2012, when he is clearly referring to not one event but three and they span over 200 years. It cannot be both ways.

If Mr. Jenkins wants to be taken seriously by academic researchers, he must first dispense with his fuzzy astronomy and get serious about his astronomical lexicon. Then and only then will he be able to understand that using scientific astronomy instead of fuzzy astronomy shows the way to Xibalba

The Final Mayan calendar steps to 2012:
November 8, 2009 – the beginning of the Sixth NIGHT

Before going into the specifics of the upcoming sixth night, November 8, 2009 – November 2, 2010, of the Galactic Wave Movement (or Underworld) I feel I should clarify some of my basic points of departure for understanding the Mayan calendar, since the various ideas that are currently proposed for this vary significantly. There are for instance those that believe that the end date of the Mayan calendar only marks the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new. On my own part I however think that we are approaching something much more profound than just a point in a cycle that again will be repeated. The only Mayan inscription from ancient times, the Tortuguero monument, which describes the end (http://bit.ly/3Ni2rD) of their calendar says that nine cosmic forces will then manifest. Empirically, there is also overwhelming evidence from modern research that we are approaching a point in time when nine evolutionary levels (so called Underworlds) of the cosmic plan are simultaneously going to be completed. This would imply that we are approaching not another cycle or another shift, but the end to all shifts, which have been driving evolution since the beginning of the universe. Such an end to all shifts could conceivably provide the basis for a harmonious eternal peace on Earth.

What is about to transpire now is in other words not something that has ever happened before in the history of the universe. Maybe this impending change, partially unknown, causes the widespread denial that I feel dominate many people at the current moment. Rather than facing a great change in our socioeconomic relationships (since any change in human consciousness also implies a change in our relationships) many prefer to fantasize about some physical or astronomical event, that purportedly is going to happen on December 21, 2012. In reality the Mayan calendar is however not about something that will happen on a singular date, but a description of a divine plan for the evolution of humankind where quantum shifts between calendrical energies bring about shifts in consciousness. Thus, human consciousness will continue to be transformed step by step in accordance with this plan until we come to the real end date of the process of creation, October 28, 2011. At this date the highest quantum state of the universe will be attained (13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ahau) when the shifts disrupting the harmony will come to an end. Obviously, we are not there yet.

In this plan for the evolution of consciousness we are now approaching the sixth night of the Galactic Wave Movement, the eighth of the nine levels, which will begin on November 8, 2009. If my understanding of the Mayan calendar is correct we will in this coming night be witnessing the most significant transformation of consciousness ever in the history of mankind. What is exciting about this is that I feel that a relatively clear picture of how a new world is going to be born is now finally becoming evident. On the other hand, what is also becoming increasingly clear is that this birth is likely to become very demanding. For this reason it becomes all the more important to understand how some of the difficulties ahead actually serve the delivery of this new world even though it may not always seem that they do so in the moment. If people can gain a realistic understanding of how this new world will be born they may be able to keep a hope for the future, which is based on something more than mere wishful thinking. Unfortunately, much confusion reigns about the Mayan calendar and many that present themselves as experts on this deny the ancient Mayan knowledge that there are nine cosmic forces that are about to manifest, and that it is these, and nothing else, that explains why a new world will be born.

Thus, what will happen in the time ahead cannot be understood from the sixth night of the Galactic Underworld alone. The overlapping of the cycles preparing for the ninth, and highest, level in the cosmic evolution scheme; the Universal Wave Movement (see Figure) with the energy of this sixth night will then also need to be taken into consideration. Because of this overlapping, and the speed-up of time associated especially with the latter Wave Movement, not only do I think that the upcoming period will be unusually intense, but also energetically quite complex.

At the time of this writing (October 31, 2009, 1 Ben) we are towards the end of the sixth day, the period of flowering in the process from seed to mature fruit in the Galactic Wave Movement, which precedes the sixth night. As I predicted in an earlier article it would now to some economists seem that the “global economic recession” (or the worst of it) is already over. There are however certain things currently going on in the world that belies this and are more in line with the prediction I made in an article in May (http://bit.ly/qeisX) of a further economic downturn, especially expressed in a fall in the value of the US dollar, to take place around the time that the sixth night begins (see also: http://bit.ly/2faPHG). While several sources now predict a dollar fall it is important to note that mine was made a relatively long time ago and if it proves to be correct shows that what is happening in the economy is part of a divine plan charted by the Mayan calendar.

My prediction of a further economic downturn was based on the observation that nights, at least in the second part of an evolutionary Wave Movement, usually mean at the very least a slowdown of economic growth. An indication of such an impending downturn at this upcoming night is for instance that there has been a rush for gold, which for the first time passed the magical limit of USD 1000/troy ounce. Moreover, an index of insider trading shows that people knowledgeable about the actual basis for valuing US stock tend to think of this as highly overvalued. Most importantly, increasingly higher voices are now raised in almost all corners of the world for the replacement of the petrodollar system and thus also of the use of the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. These various indices thus do not indicate that the “recession” is over, but if anything that an intensification of the economic decline, especially in the indebted West, is imminent. It seems that investors are escaping assets in the form of paper or digit values, which is exactly what we would expect from this late phase of the Galactic Wave Movement, when a shift in consciousness amounting to a shift from abstract to concrete economic values is taking place. Thus, while many will say that the changes are a result of a conspiracy, for instance against the US, the point to realize is that if that were the case they would not have been predictable from the Mayan calendar.

I believe that what is happening in the world’s economy is something much more profound and fundamental than a temporary recession and is a direct consequence of the particular transformation of consciousness that the Galactic Wave Movement is bringing. As I explain in my new book The Purposeful Universe (http://bit.ly/yvXjH) consciousness is primarily a relationship to the Tree of Life, which exists on many different levels of the cosmos and causes synchronized shifts on these different levels. What this means is that the shifts in consciousness that give new directions to our lives will also directly affect the world and society at large and how we relate to this. A shift in consciousness is hence not something that only happens in our heads, but is simultaneously also expressed in changes in our relationships. Our economic relationships are thus also subject to shifts in consciousness and the evolution of this. We should then expect an even further escape from abstract values as the sixth night begins, a shift that may be expected to especially severely hit the western economies of the United States and the United Kingdom, which remain the financial centers of the world and control much of its banking activities. At the present time these nations, and especially the United States, are so indebted that there really is no need to present an explanation as to why there would be another downturn in its economy. All that is needed for this is something to trigger what is going to happen anyway one way or another. While many things may trigger such a downturn, and the media will place all the emphasis on this trigger, the deeper reasons for a downturn is best understood from the Mayan calendar. From a Mayan calendar perspective the ongoing decline in economic growth reflects a stepwise adaptation to the end of the economic cycles that will be associated with the Mayan end date (or beginning date of a new world if you like).

If the downturn of the economy is part of a process creating the conditions for the birth of a new world a relevant question to ask is how deep it is going to be. Even if it seems clear that the value of paper money, and especially the US dollar, will be hit, it is still somewhat of an open question how far-reaching the consequences of this will be. I think this can only be understood from a study of what might be the nature of the new world to be born. When it comes to understanding this it seems however that there are actually no ancient Mayan sources to consult. The Mayan sources only say that Nine cosmic forces are going to manifest as the calendar comes to an end, but there is no ancient inscription, which talks about what will follow upon this. Because of this dearth of material I suggest that we turn to sources from the large Abrahamic religions such as the Bible or the Quran, which do say something on the matter. If we combine these with our understanding from the Mayan calendar I feel we may gain some idea of what is to come. I believe everything that has been happening in this time plan has been subordinated to the delivery of this new world.

Hence, the Quran says this in Surah 82:17-19: “And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.” I believe this disappearance of dominance may refer to the Universal Underworld, which brings a consciousness of oneness and transparency to our whole beings and all of our past actions. If we take this seriously it would imply that all chains to people dominating others would need to be broken. The last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation 21:4-5 also describes a new world to be born: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.” This would seem to imply that all chains to the past would need to be broken for the new world to be born. Taken together it would seem that as pre-requisites for the birth of a new earth we would need to free ourselves from the chains to the past as well as from chains to other people.

To some these changes may look so great that it might even be more comfortable to fantasize that the world would come to an end than to go through all of the necessary changes that would more or less turn our world upside down. Certainly, there is also a tremendous amount of people in power, who do not want to see such a transformation towards equality and harmony coming about. These quotes may however give us a hint about where the economic downturn may be leading us and how deep it will be. Will money for instance completely disappear? I think the answer to this is that money will disappear to the extent that it no longer chains the world to the past. In practice, this probably means that all thinking about profitable investing etc is somewhat beside the point, since the emerging new world is not likely to be a growth economy based on the drive for accumulation of abstract values. More likely, the new world is going to be one based on sharing and care-taking of all members of society as the unity consciousness of the Universal Wav Movement, presumably after much turmoil, eventually is established. The more immediate time period in the sixth night will then be when the practical expressions of this transformation will need to be tested out and implemented. This may from the perspective of the current world seem unthinkable. Yet, there is no such thing as an eternal human nature and our perception of reality, and what we are propelled to create, always varies between the different Wave Movements. The human beings of the Regional, National, Planetary and Galactic Wave Movements are completely different in their approach to life and the universal human being that will be created by the Ninth and Universal Wave Movement will represent the crowning step of the evolution of consciousness. Thus, she is then likely to embody a different perception of the world and different qualities compared to previously. An economy based on sharing is of course fully possible if the unity consciousness carried by the Universal Wave Movement is successfully established. Even if the energy changes will now be happening quickly I should add that it may take some time (in the range of a few years after 2011) until this economy takes its final form.

So how in practice could such a transition come about from a human being, who essentially looks after herself to one that sees the unity of all and shares the fruits of creation? Such a transformation of our experience of life may now seem as impossible as the fall of the Berlin Wall once seemed. But similarly to how the fall of the Berlin Wall ultimately was a reflection of a transcendence of an east-west polarity in human consciousness the new world to be born is designed to result from a transcendence of the inner and outer walls maintained especially by the western mind. Thus, my suspicion is that during the first half of the sixth night the world’s economy will increasingly slow down as the consumption of the US population will no longer be able to keep the industrial engines of the world going. The power of the US in the world would decrease as a result of a dollar fall.* Yet, because of the indirect effects of this downturn, no part of the world can expect to be untouched. In this downturn it will then come a point when it will start to dawn on many people that it will never be possible to resurrect the old growth economy and that there will never be any return to a “business as usual.” At that point very radical socio-economic solutions will need to be explored for people to survive also in a literal physical sense as it becomes obvious that it is the nature of the economic relationships and the chains to the economy of the past that cause the problems. We may for instance ask what will happen if major portions of the population in economically significant countries will not be able to pay their mortgages? Will these people then have to leave their houses in mass so that countless houses owned by banks will sit empty when people are out on the streets? This is the kind of situation that has already appeared in some previously car manufacturing suburbs of Detroit. Hence, this scenario is not hypothetical, but has already to some extent happened on a limited scale.

What likely will happen then is that demands will be raised for a moratorium on debts, so that people will no longer have to pay to the banks to stay in their homes. Maybe this will be preceded on a larger scale by some nations that see it necessary to push for the cancellations of national debts as a means of stabilizing the world. If such a moratorium on debts is instituted it would however be like cancelling the power of money and the chains to the past as it exists now. This would effectively create a path towards a sustainable economy an economy where it is emphasized that the needs of people are met in the present moment (returning to the theme of cutting the chains of the past). This of course would be nothing short of a revolution, and most likely a worldwide such, since the worlds’ economies at the current time are so deeply entangled. Possibly this would spread from the US to much of the rest of the world. Such an enormous transformation of the world’s socio-economic system would then be likely to take place in the time period between July 17, 2010 (the Cosmic Convergence)** and the beginning of the Seventh day of the Galactic Wave Movement (November 3, 2010). Naturally, it would serve to dissolve many of the other systems of dominance that the world has inherited especially from the National, but also the Planetary, Wave Movement. Energetically speaking this time period, July 17- November 3, 2010, is created through the overlap of the pre-Universal Underworld and the Galactic Wave Movement.*** What this revolutionary time period most likely is going to amount to is a corresponding decrease of governmental and national authority (not that of any particular government, but governmental authority as such, something which humanity has inherited from the National Wave Movement and its patriarchal frame of consciousness. Needless to say some would try to take advantage of such a situation). It will seriously come into question what we need governments and national borders for “when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another.” My vision for the time period from the Cosmic Convergence until the beginning of the seventh day of the Galactic Wave Movement is thus a total overhaul of human civilization. This then would also be a time to make choices of path individually.

Why would this particular time period, July 17, 2010 – November 2, 2010, bring such a revolutionary transformation? Well, there are two earlier time periods that are noteworthy as parallels to this upcoming one. One is AD 1498-1617, the Renaissance, which in a broad sense meant the overturning of the feudal system that saw the Vatican as the ultimate source of worldly power and the beginning of the modern era. The other is 1986-1992, which carried a revolutionary wave of democracy (including the fall of the Berlin Wall) resulting in a world whose hemispheres were no longer separated.

We may also notice that the two corresponding revolutionary time periods gave rise to new expressions of spirituality, in the first case the Reformation and in the second the Harmonic Convergence**** that became somewhat of a starting point for the eclectic New Age movement of our own time. This would indicate that also this time, following the Cosmic Convergence, there will be a new spiritual awakening. Since the Cosmic Convergence would be the first breeze of a unity consciousness this would imply that people would then be divinely inspired to share and recognize the unity of all creation. I believe it will be a spirituality beyond words based on the immediate experience of the divine. Hence, while the Reformation was an awakening emphasizing the written word and the New Age movement originated in esoteric ideas that were sometimes channeled or spoken I believe that the spiritual awakening ahead will not be something that can be formulated in words and will be based on plain knowing.

I feel it is an open question whether this transformative revolution between July 17 and November 3, 2010 will be peaceful, but the parallel to the time period 1986-1992 indicates that this at least is possible. What seems clear however is that people will be divided as to whether they want to flow with the incoming energies leading towards a new world or if they will resist them and seek to hold on to or go back to the system of the past. It is then no wonder that strong forces will try to present the Mayan calendar as if it is about something that will happen on the date December 21, 2012. (A typical example of this is the upcoming Hollywood movie 2012, a disaster movie, but most New Age gurus have prepared the ground for these nonsense fears by emphasizing this singular date and ignoring that the Mayan calendar is constituted by nine levels of evolution). How people will relate to this change will thus also depend on the understanding people have of the Mayan calendar and the cosmic plan, which at the current time only a very small minority is aware of at least in its true form as a manifestation of nine cosmic forces. People at large may in fact never recognize any conscious warning signals for what is to come. Yet, inasmuch as they understand that the large-scale changes emanate from a divine plan this would mean that a spiritual awakening could take place. If this happens they will not be inclined to look at the changes around them as just meaningless chaotic events as they surely will be presented by the dominating media.

Considering that this is all about the participation in a process of evolution of consciousness there is a great danger in people believing that the Mayan calendar is about a singular date when some event will take place, whether this is made up to be a “pole shift”, “galactic alignment,” “Planet X,” “end of the world” or “shift in consciousness.” This is an incredibly naïve view of an essentially superstitious nature where a new world is believed to simply fall down upon the human beings from the sky without their active and conscious participation in the processes leading up to a state of unity consciousness. In reality, there is overwhelming evidence that the Mayan calendar describes sequential shifts in consciousness, which will begin to be experienced at an even higher frequency after July 17, 2010 and even more markedly so after the beginning of the actual Universal Wave Movement on March 8, 2011. Only at October 28, 2011 will the shifts come to an end and a unity consciousness stabilize that will provide the basis for a millennium of peace. This frequency increase incidentally also explains how such a tremendous overhaul of all systems of dominance could take place in such a short period of time. Stay in the middle of the river with a focus on the manifestation of the new world!

* The effects of a significant fall in the value of the US dollar on its economy are not uncomplicated. Domestic trading would in principle (this is an oversimplification) be unaffected, while US exports would become more competitive. It would however be certain to decrease the power of the US in the world, since its companies could be bought at a lower cost in other currencies and since for instance oil imports would become much more expensive.

** In my earlier books I have vacillated when it comes to the duration of the Universal Underworld, sometimes thinking that it will be a tzolkin round of 260 days and sometimes that it would be a twentieth of the Galactic Underworld, which would amount to 13 x 18 = 234 days. As we are now getting close to the final transformation scenario I have come to lean over to the idea that the Universal Underworld will indeed be 234 days long placing its beginning at March 8, 2011 and the beginning of the preceding pre-Universal Underworld at July 17, 2010. The uncertainty with this is that there seems to be no ancient Mayan source describing such a 18 day oxlahunkin time period, even if it would seem to be the logical one. On the other hand the ancient Maya did not have to deal with the transformation scenario into a new world and so may have ignored this time period, while it still may become very important in our own time. There is in fact a precedent to how a cycle only became followed by the Maya as its effects became a reality. This is the so-called Short Counts of 13 katuns, which were not observed in Classical Mayan times presumably because their effects were then not yet strongly felt. Only later in Post-Classical times did the effects of these Short Counts become so strong that they became the dominating cycles followed by the Maya and so came to replace the Long Count as the central calendrical cycle. Thus, if the Classical Maya did not base their calendars on the Short Counts they would have had even less reason to take a 18 day cycle into account, which to them would have an effect only in a very distant future.

*** What is played out here is the interaction between overlapping time periods produced by dividing the Galactic Underworld into 13 and 20, respectively, as a parallel to the energetic overlaps of the trecena and the uinal in the tzolkin. If the Galactic Underworld of 4680 days is divided by 13 it generates a day or night of 360 days, but if it is divided by 20 it generates a wave movement totaling 234 days.

**** The Cosmic Convergence called for on July 17-18 is thus a direct parallel to the Harmonic Convergence in the sense that what the Harmonic Convergence was to the Galactic Underworld the Cosmic Convergence will be to the Universal Underworld. This means that the Cosmic Convergence may not only become the beginning of a transformative political period similarly to what happened in 1986, but also the first breeze of a spiritual awakening that will later be fully expressed in the Universal Underworld.

9.9.9. and the Mayan Calendar

The number nine has been endowed with a special significance in many different spiritual and religious traditions. Nine was the number of muses in Greek mythology and Nine were the number of worlds in the Scandinavian. Nine was the number of doors to the holiest part of the temple in Jerusalem and the month of Ramadan is the Ninth in the Muslim calendar. Moreover, the counting system used by most of the world today includes nine numbers and so the relevance of this number is much ingrained in us. Also, in the Mayan tradition the number Nine plays a predominating role. The only existing inscription from ancient times that discusses the meaning of the Mayan calendar “end date” for instance speaks of Nine “deities” that will descend then as its crucial event. This would in modern wording mean that Nine energies, or Nine cosmic forces would fully manifest then since the ancient Maya would look upon time periods as “deities”. As far as we can tell these “deities”, or cosmic forces, are like evolutionary wave movements, built on top of one another where we are currently riding on the eighth one getting ready to ride on the ninth.

In the manifestation of these evolutionary waves we may now as we approach the Ninth level notice an amazing synchronicity. This is that the upcoming date 9.9.9 (September 9, 2009 in the Gregorian calendar) happens to coincide with the beginning of a Mayan Sacred Calendar count of 260 days. Hence, in this calendar, in use since 3000 years, the modern date 9.9.9 has the energy of Hun Imix, or 1 Alligator as its English translation reads, which happens to be the first of its energetic combinations. If we ponder what this synchronicity may be telling us the most natural conclusion to draw is that on this particular date we are called to focus on the number nine and especially the Ninth level of the Mayan calendar system, whose coming into existence we are soon about to witness.

I believe that behind these cosmic forces, whose times of activation are described by the Mayan calendar, is an intelligent plan for the history of humanity that comes from a higher source and has a benevolent intention. To realize this is also to understand the importance of the guidance regarding how to follow this plan that we may gain from the calendar of the Maya. These nine cosmic forces are influencing and in fact governing our collective consciousness and so we have every reason to pay attention to what is going on in this cosmic time plan.

Synchronicities can often be interpreted in different ways, but if they are profound they always deserve our attention. 9.9.9, three Nines in a row, may for instance be seen as symbolic of three sacred calendar rounds of 260 days that will now in three steps lead us to the completion of the Ninth level of evolution which is its highest level. To the best of our knowledge this highest energy state of the universe will be attained on the energy 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ahau (13 and Ahau are symbols of completion in the Mayan calendar) on the Gregorian date October 28, 2011. This highest state does not in any sense mean the end of the world, but only that all the Nine wave movements are then completed. Maybe we can use the metaphor that we are now about to climb the last hard steps of a ladder until we climb on to the roof where we will find a new stability under our feet and a place to rest.

Regardless of what this final climb will mean we thus have reasons to expect an unprecedented period of change in a very short period of time. This is partly because we are entering the final phase of the eighth level of evolution and partly because a wave movement of a very high frequency, the Ninth level, will radically come to transform the collective consciousness in such a way that we will see the world in an entirely different light. It is for this reason that in the three upcoming Sacred Calendar rounds that follow upon 9.9.9 we will need to network and focus our intentions so that they converge in the birth of a new world. This is all the more important as there are several sources that seem to indicate that the sixth night of the Galactic Underworld, beginning on November 8, 2009, may come to generate a deep downturn in the world’s economy.

The first of these 260-day Sacred Calendar rounds, the one which actually begins on 9.9.9 and goes on until May 26, 2010, may be seen as a period of build-up to the Ninth level that is suitable for prayer, meditation and mental focusing. We encourage community building, networking and spiritual synchronization in this time period, also of a practical nature. The second 260 calendar round, starting 27.05.10 will create a preliminary arrival of the Ninth level and the beginning of this will be marked by the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18, a significant focus point for spiritual projects of a practical nature that will prepare for the birth of a new world. The third Sacred Calendar round of 260 days will begin February 11, 2011 and includes the actual activation of the Ninth level, the Universal Underworld on March 8, 2011. This may be the most dramatic of the three steps as it leads up to the establishment of the highest energy state of the universe on October 28, 2011.

I believe that through these three steps, three Sacred Calendar rounds, starting on 9.9.9: 1/ Build-up, 2/ Preparatory Ninth level and 3/ Actual Ninth level of the evolution of the cosmos, the universe is now about to deliver what it has been striving towards all along, the establishment of a new level of consciousness, a unity consciousness. I also believe that the Ninth level is designed especially to generate such a unity consciousness, which will transform all of human society. For the human race it will mean very big challenges and opportunities. These changes will however not happen by themselves and need to be manifested by the human beings themselves who may then chose to resist or welcome them. From this perspective we may thus look at the date 9.9.9 not only as a numerological curiosity to celebrate, but also as an opportunity for us to focus on and embrace the participation of humanity in a transformation process of a very large scale, the one brought by the Ninth level of the Cosmos.

From what we may understand of the Mayan calendar the unity consciousness will set an end to all forms of dominance of one human over another and especially those generated by the left brain. What this likely will mean is that instruments of dominance, such as the current financial system, weapons, national borders and many other structures upholding authority in this process will come to crumble as an effect of this unity consciousness coming into existence and so conclude with the birth of a new world where a divine harmony characterize the human relations. This end to dominance will also affect the relationship between the genders on a global scale that as a result will profoundly shift. Needless to say, there will never be any return to business as usual. Instead we will need to approach the birth of the new world consciously and with an intention of co-creating it in a positive sense and not just react to the various difficulties that lie ahead. I believe that such a collective intention of co-creating the new world will be the best way of easing the consequences of these difficulties.

Although what is starting on 9.9.9 is only the build-up phase to the Ninth level, this date is nonetheless a very important focusing point since the timing of the continued preparations for the emergence of this level are of the essence. From this follows that the more practical projects that will start to manifest in the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18 2010 as the name implies, will have to be based on an understanding that the very framework of the human existence and of consciousness will be dramatically expanded. The expansion of human consciousness is what will bring the socio-economic transformation at a time when the hardships of the old systems may be expected to be painfully felt also by nations that currently may been considered as wealthy. As the Ninth level is finally activated our identities will come to be defined in a much expanded spiritual framework.

This article comes much too late to encourage people more broadly to focus and intend together for the future. Nonetheless, many will celebrate the 9.9.9 date regardless (see for example http://www.fredpajorden.se/sida21.html ). The purpose of my present article is then only to inform those that will be celebrating this date anyway, that indeed this is not just a numerological curiosity in the Gregorian calendar, but that the date plays a profound objective role in the cosmic plan as we may understand this from the Mayan calendar directly leading up to the birth of a new world through the Ninth level, 9.9.9. It is an ideal time to participate in prayers and meditations with the focus and intention of co-creating a new and better world. Additional tools for networking and communication with the focus on the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18, 2012 will be developed as we go along. 9.9.9 may be seen as an initial and modest initial call for the co-creation of the birth of a new world.

The Tortuguero Monument 6 and the Mayan end date.

When I started my independent research on the Mayan calendar late in 1993 not a single inscription from the ancient Maya was actually known which would describe what would happen at its so-called end date. All that was known were the various descriptions of the beginning date of the Long Count, notably in the inscriptions in Palenque, which said that the First Father then “erected the World Tree”. Irrespective of this dearth of information, I started to develop my theory about the nine levels of evolution, the nine underworlds, and the various days and nights that generated their wave movements. I simply assumed that the significant Mayan pyramids had been built in nine steps because they were symbolic of nine levels of creation, each effected by seven days, or seven creation gods. I then found that with such a model an enormous amount of historical facts started to make sense if they were seen as results of cosmic energy shifts. This however could be seen to be true only if the nine levels all ended at the same time, similarly to how some of the Mayan pyramids had a straight back. It thus seemed obvious that the understanding of such energy shifts must have been the basis of the prophetic tradition of the Maya. This was of course not how traditional Mayanism saw it, which essentially treated the calendar and the various deities associated with it as superstitions. Yet, I came from a different scientific tradition, and was primarily interested in if the Mayan time cycles and deities were true reflections of reality. In the beginning of my scientific carreer in the seventies I had thus been mentored by a member of the Nobel committes in Stockholm and had then at least indirectly seen how science operates from what arguably is its highest level. This meant among other things zero tolerance for making up theories from “beliefs” without empirical facts to back them up and constant emphasis on experimental reality checks. At least professionally this has remained my mind set ever since and the fact that some people believe that Jesus was born on December 25 or that the Mayan calendar ends on December 21 does not constitute proof for me that this is actually the case.

The idea that there were as many as nine Underworlds was for a long time criticized by some who said that there was only one cycle of a longer duration in the Mayan calendar system, namely the 5,125 year Long Count. Yet, already then there were some indications that the Maya had recognized nine steps of evolution. It was for instance known that the Long Count was sometimes referred to as ruled by the Six-Sky-Lord, indicating that it was the sixth level, and that there were names for time periods beginning with that of the first of the nine levels, the hablatun. Based on these indications of nine levels I proposed my theory since it could be empirically substantiated from human history even though some thought that it was not orthodox enough. Somewhat later, in 1996, Mayanists however started to decipher Monument 6 in Tortuguero, only some 50 kilometers west of Palenque, which would further strengthen my model of nine levels of evolution. For the first time an inscription was found that seemed to refer to what would happen at the end date at least from the perspective of a Mayan king around AD 670.

More broadly this inscription only gained attention in 2006 and its final text according to David Stuart, who is an expert on Mayan glyphs, reads essentially like this: Tzuhtz-(a)j-oom u(y)-uxlajuun pik (ta) Chan Ajaw ux(-te’) Uniiw. Uht-oom ? Y-em(al)?? Bolon Yookte’ K’uh ta?

or translated to English: “The Thirteenth ‘Bak’tun” will be finished (on) Four Ajaw, the Third of Uniiw (K’ank’in). ? will occur. (It will be) the descent(??) of the Nine Support? God(s) to the ?. "

As is common with such ancient inscriptions they may be difficult to read partly because the glyphs are effaced (which is the case here) and partly because the meanings of the glyphs are not unambiguous. The critical part from our perspective is the deities (or deity) called Bolon Yookte, who at the end date would “descend.” To understand how to interpret this I think it is important to know two things about ancient Mayan deities. The first is that they were not as personalized as for instance Roman or Nordic deities, who were perceived to act more or less as individuals. A Mayan (or Aztec) deity instead typically symbolized a cosmic force associated with a time period and the mythologies of these peoples really describe fairly high level impersonal cosmic relationships. Hence, we know how the ancient day-signs were carried by daybearers, deities that were associated with particular days. Time periods, gods and day-signs were thus more or less interchangeable and it depended on the context how they would be expressed. The second thing to know is that these deities could easily split into several different deities and vice versa depending on whether the context called for the whole or its parts to be expressed. This is almost certainly the case with Bolon Yookte, which can be seen as a whole deity with nine parts or as nine parts constituting a whole. Bolon Yookte is at the same time a whole and its nine parts because Mayan cosmology is essentially holistic and looks upon everything in creation as connected.

John Major Jenkins in 2006 wrote an important and interesting article about the Bolon Yookte: Comments on the 2012 text on Tortuguero Monument 6 and Bolon Yookte Ku, http://edj.net/mc2012/bolon-yokte.html, where he summarizes epigraphic information about this deity called Bolon Yookte, which according to the abovementioned inscription will descend at the Mayan end date. Among other things he cites an article by Gillespie and Joyce that states that Bolon Yookte was called “the God of the Nine Steps” and also that this was a deity that was present already at the beginning of creation as can be seen from the famous Vase of the Seven Lords. He also cites Eberl and Prager, who said that the Bolon Yookte was associated with the underworld, wars and conflict. Really what this is telling us is that the structure of Nine Steps of evolution, Nine Underworlds, has existed from the very beginning of creation, what we in modern terminology would call the Big Bang. The Tortuguero Monument 6, and Jenkins study of their meaning, thus provides a perfect verification of the theory I proposed fifteen years ago. The Bolon Yookte are the Nine levels of evolution carried out by the nine underworlds. These nine Underworlds are then obviously also associated with the Seven Lords of Creation (the seven DAYS) as can be seen from the famous Mayan vase. Moreover, as we know from history, all of these Underworlds are associated with conflicts and wars, since shifts in cosmic energies generate shifting balances of power and as a result, warfare. To me, the relationships between these Mayan deities provide a model of evolution that has been verified by massive empirical evidence. Because of this connection to reality this is crucial information for humanity at the present time and not mere mythical relationships.

What this inscription means is that on the end date there is not just one cosmic power that will manifest, but Nine and that these were symbolized by a Nine-Step pyramid that was Bolon Yookte – The God of Nine Steps. It is also clear from Jenkins’ article that Bolon Yookte was associated with the World Tree, which especially my forthcoming book The Purposeful Universe will demonstrate as the source of all creation – not as a myth, but as a reality. In light of the Tortuguero monument I feel the model of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens can only be denied by someone, who completely ignores not only the actual Mayan inscriptions, but also the massive empirical evidence of how the Mayan calendar system is connected to reality. If instead this body of evidence is recognized it is however easy to see how in their mythology the Maya would interchange deities, time periods and cosmic energies in a way that can now help us make sense of evolution and how it has played out in biological and historical reality.

The verification from the Tortuguero monument that the ancient Maya looked upon the end of creation as the simultaneous descent of Nine different deities, or manifestation of nine cosmic forces, is however very timely as we are now on the eighth level of evolution and soon about to climb up one step to the ninth level, the Universal Underworld. It is not an exaggeration to say that for many people now their future will directly depend on knowing exactly how the energies of these nine levels will be playing out. Today it is thus crucial to know about this basic structure of evolution, Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens, and the exact timing of activation of the different wave movements of creation. That nine deities will descend (nine cosmic forces manifest) simultaneously at the end date is thus no longer an unorthodox idea, but instead the only meaningful explanation that can be given to Tortuguero monument 6. What this means is also that the Bolon Yookte mentioned at the Tortuguero monument is not about a single event occurring only at a specific date. It is instead about nine different wave movements, each generated by the Seven Lords of Creation (the seven days in each Underworld) going back to the beginning of the universe (the Big Bang) when, as Jenkins also points out, Bolon Yookte was already present. Thus, any viable theory about the meaning of the Mayan calendar needs to be able to account for such long term evolutionary processes, spanning up to 16.4 billion years. As a consequence, serious researchers need to take their focus off from what might happen on a single day, the end date, since this can only be understood in a much larger context. From this perspective it is thus a problem that especially many American “experts on 2012”, along the lines of the upcoming Hollywood movie 2012, have committed themselves to some physical event that they associate with the singular December 21, 2012 date, such as a pole shift, a galactic alignment, a volcanic eruption, an asteroid impact, a solar flare or some other (usually not very well-founded) idea of what may happen on this particular day. Given the total unreasonableness of such ideas, especially in light of the Tortuguero monument, is it not time that they instead start considering an evolutionary model for the Mayan calendar that is consistent with this monument? “2012” has for too long been a playground for pseudo-science and the many unfounded “singular day” ideas blur the fact that the end scenario of the Mayan calendar is really about a socio-economic transformation resulting from processes influencing human consciousness. It is thus about the human beings themselves and how we co-create the birth of a new world and not about any geological or astronomical event that we only would be observers of anyway.

There is of course a reason that, as I pointed out before, no one advocating the October 28, 2011 end date has ever advocated or been lured into advocating that this date would be “the end of the world.” This is that this date emanates organically from an evolutionary process and is not associated with any real or purported physical or astronomical event. It is simply the day when the universe after nine major quantum steps, starting with the beginning of the universe, attains its highest energy state and there is no logical reason that this would mean the end of the world. It is just an evolutionary completion point when Bolon Yookte fully descends. When it comes to the many events that have been purported to be associated with the singular December 21, 2012 date on the other hand it is not surprising that they invite speculations about the end of the world. If you for instance propose that this end date is about a pole shift or a giant burst of gamma rays from the galactic center, why should people not believe that this could be the end of the world? To propose physical events is like asking for the mainstream media to create fear and hopelessness around the real transformation that is about to occur.

I thus believe it will be people at large that will suffer most from the neglect of the understanding we may gain from the ancient Maya, which as we have seen speaks about the fulfilment of a composite of nine evolutionary forces, the Bolon Yookte Ku, and not what happens on a single day. Because of all the confusing information focusing on December 21, 2012 that is already out there I feel however that people will start to align with the true end date of October 28, 2011, not because they realize that the energetic end date logically must be 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ajaw or that the 4 Ajaw end date was the result of politics much like the placing of the birth of Jesus at December 25 by the Christian Church. People are instead likely to come to accept the October 28, 2011 date in practice simply because they will not be able to deny the actual wave movement of energies that they themselves are experiencing, especially in the socio-economic realm. Yet, for those seeking to consciously co-create the birth of a new world a knowledge of how the cosmic energies lead up to the October 28, 2011 date will be instrumental, simply because without it no understanding of how the new world will be born, and how this is timed, will be possible. Hence, the activation of these energies, and their preparatory phases in the Galactic and Universal Underworlds will, as always, take place according to a very precise relative timing until the Bolon Yookte, the nine underworlds, will “descend”, manifest fully, and create the foundation for a millennium of peace – the end of the Shift of the Ages.

Although there are clues to the possibility to massive economic change - it is difficult to know just when this might happen. Some dates predicted by some people have already come and gone. Calleman has a system of alternating days and nights that is based on his interpretation of the Mayan calendar. Also, in his model, the Mayan calendar ends in 2011 rather than 2012.

The difficult Fifth NIGHT ruled by Tezcatlipoca
At this point I feel it may be in its place to make a jump forward to discuss what is likely to occur after the two pulses of LIGHT in DAY 4 and DAY 5. In the Fifth NIGHT, (November 18 2007 – November 12, 2008, ruled by the energy of Tezcatlipoca, the god of darkness), we will see the last desperate attempts of the West, and power hierarchies based on materialism everywhere, to remain in control and strengthen their power in some new very oppressive way.

If the international monetary system collapses in DAY 5 we may for instance come to see this replaced by a centralized electronic control over everyone’s economic interactions (Not to mention control of whereabouts and other things). Except that I simply look upon it as a phase in a cosmic plan, this is the time period when many of the scenarios described by conspiracy theoreticians may come true. Regardless of the concrete forms it may take, this is when everything will be made to keep people in the fold.

In the same way as we, during the Fifth NIGHT of the Planetary Underworld (1932-52), saw an alliance between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union of Stalin we may well in the upcoming Fifth NIGHT come to see an alliance between the rulers of China and the United States – all in the interest of maintaining a hierarchically ruled world with a focus on material gains. And in the same way as the mentioned dictatorships of the Planetary Underworld enjoyed the overwhelming support of their subjects, we may well come to see a strong support by the subjects of the “democracy” of the US and the “popular” regime of China as the Fifth NIGHT begins to rule in the Galactic Underworld.

Especially in the United States people are already on a massive scale deluded into thinking that they are free. Those with knowledge of the changing energies of the Mayan calendar will not be as easy to manipulate by fear, since they are aware of the wave movement of history.

The Shift from Chaos to the Enlightened world
Following the Fifth NIGHT large groups of people will however in the Sixth DAY break away from hierarchical control and guided by their intuition find a path towards increased wholeness. This is when the hierarchies will really start to break down, probably largely in a chaotic way. Yet, this is exactly the kind of chaos that is needed for the recreation of an Enlightened world.

Creativity is born out of chaos and if you think more deeply about it you realize that there is no linear way from today’s world (2004) to the Enlightened (2011). Instead the enlightened world can only emerge out of a series of transformative pulses, including periods of destruction, such as the Fifth NIGHT.

The paradox to understand is that the very process that seems to break down the world economy and political dominance is also the one that paves the way for Enlightenment. The emergence of a fully enlightened collective state of consciousness can only thrive in a global consciousness that is balanced. This is because the imbalance that has been dominating humanity for some 5000 years has had its direct cause the dualist frame of consciousness that was ruling throughout this time.

I feel however that the kind of Enlightenment humanity will approach as the cosmic plan is completed in 2011 will not be like anything that has existed previously. Although there are many descriptions of enlightened beings and ascended masters from human history I personally think that their states of consciousness in various ways have been limited by the creation fields that were ruling at the particular time they were (or are) living.

Only in 2011 will all veils separating human beings from the divine be removed and the supramental consciousness of the Universal Underworld will be unexplored territory. In a sense we are talking about the emergence of an entirely new species of human beings. For the first time Enlightenment will take place in a balanced global creation field and this certainly will influence the depth and scope of the cosmic consciousness that may be attained.

Science Recognizes the Mayan Calendar and the Evolution of Consciousness

Dear Friends,
For a long time the professional scientific community has resisted the thought
that the different time periods of the Mayan calendar are driving cosmic and human evolution through their influence on consciousness. While of course a large number of professional Mayanists have worked with elucidating the structure of the calendar system of the ancient Maya there has always been a resistance to acknowledging that there would be a reality behind these energies. Hence, even though it may not have been said so directly these cosmic energies have often been regarded as some kind of superstitions.

A beginning of a shift in attitude now however seems to be on its way. At an international conference in Systems Theory at the University of Liege in Belgium Professor Tadeja Jere Lazanski won the award for best scientific paper in the CASYS'09 (Computing Anticipatory Systems) conference:

The paper outlines the nine levels of evolution that are developed according to the Mayan calendar system and places them in the context of Systems Theory. In short Dr Jere Lazanski is driving the thesis that what the ancient Maya saw as a plan driven by divine energies is what now is generally referred to as the big picture.

This initial breakthrough into mainstream science of the true Mayan calendar system of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens is very significant and it opens for the first time a road to discussing not only the Mayan calendar, but also the many evolutionary progressions that it describes in certain scholarly settings.

It is also noteworthy that, in contrast, the urban legend of a "galactic alignment"
as the basis for the Mayan Long Count for good reasons has consistently been
rejected by professional scientists (see for instance Vincent Malmström,

That the breakthrough into established science of the True Mayan calendar system first happened in Systems Theory is understandable. It is only from the perspective of the whole system that the Mayan calendar can be seen to make sense and any specialized science such as professional Mayanism, history, biology or physics would have to undergo so significant changes in its methodology and general approaches in order to recognize the validity of the Mayan calendar system that this would only happen against a much greater resistance.

I congratulate Professor Jere Lazanski for her contribution to science and feel this recognition indicates the beginning of an increased openness in the scientific community to the deeper meaning of the Mayan calendar.

About eight years ago John Major Jenkins and I had a debate about the meaning of the Mayan calendar end date focusing especially on whether the energies of the Long Count ends on October 28, 2011 or December 21, 2012. This still remains the most important question anybody interested in the “2012 phenomenon” is faced with, but while at the time the debate might have seemed theoretical, or even hairsplitting, it is now a question that has very significant and practical consequences as to how we relate to the future. While many would like to sweep the end date question under the rug or sit on the fence, no one can do so with their intellectual integrity intact. Since that debate Jenkins has appeared on a History Channel documentary where December 21 2012 is presented as a predetermined “doomsday” when the world is going to come to an end. I get quite a few letters, sometimes from young people that worry that the world will come to an end at this date since they have seen this documentary posted on YouTube. While most knowledgeable people would probably reject this way of presenting the Mayan calendar it is still important to ask the question who benefits from it. I feel there are indeed many people, also apart from the participants in such documentaries that benefit from the claim that the Mayan calendar ends December 21, 2012. Thus, I do not think that it is an accident that we do not hear of the October 28, 2011 date in public media. To begin with, as far as I know no one who adheres to the end date of October 28, 2011 has ever presented this as a predetermined doomsday and thus unduly associated the Mayan calendar with fear.

Since the abovementioned debate two different intellectual cultures have emerged around the two possible end dates, one based on belief (December 21, 2012) and one based on evidence (October 28, 2011). These two cultures are about as different from one another as any one of them is from that using the Gregorian calendar. The proposal of the December 21, 2012 date is based on the unproven belief that the precessional cycle actually means something for human evolution, and, amazingly, as far as I know no one advocating this end date seems to have even bothered to try to prove this basic assumption. In contrast, the October 28, 2011 date is based on massive scientific evidence that the Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens known from ancient Mayan sources indeed describe cosmic evolution in all of its aspects. Moreover, while there is extensive evidence that the Maya based prophecy and prediction on shifts between baktuns, katuns, tuns etc, not a single ancient Mayan text mentions the 26,000 year precessional cycle. Since those advocating the December 21, 2012 end date do not identify shift points in the Mayan calendar leading up to their end date their hypothesis is however not testable from the predictions made, which is the hallmark of any serious scientific theory. Hence, it must be qualified as belief rather than science. Based on nothing more than belief a culture has subsequently emerged around the December 21, 2012 date, since it serves as an ideal projection screen for fantasies, fears and hopes rather than something that can be proven and understood scientifically based on the patterns of the Mayan calendar.

The October 28, 2011 end date can however be rationally understood. It has also been verified by several predictions, most recently my own that an economic collapse would set in and when it would do so: Regardless of what forms such a [financial] collapse may take it seems that the best bet is for it to occur close to the time that the Fifth NIGHT begins, in November 2007 [strictly speaking the 19th] (The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness, page 233). In accordance with this prediction economists now agree that it began in December of 2007, see Figure 1). This prediction was actually formulated already in my first book in English, Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time: The Mayan Calendar written in 1999 and published in 2001 (page 187). This is really a direct parallel to Edgar Cayce’s famous prediction of the time for the New York stock exchange crash, in this case however made about ten years in advance, and so was made much earlier than any professional economist even considered such an economic meltdown. I however do not claim to have some unusual psychic abilities, and instead this prediction attests to the fact that with the right end date, October 28, 2011 the mystery of the Mayan calendar has been exactly solved. That these predictions were accurate can be verified by anyone, who cares to examine the relevant pages in my books. In contrast no one who claimed that the end date of the Mayan calendar is December 21, 2012 made any similar prediction and can mostly not credit themselves with having made one single accurate prediction based on the Mayan calendar. Already this should be a red flag for anyone looking for a way to understand the evolution of civilization based on the Mayan calendar.

Before going into the more practical consequences of adhering to the evidence-based or a belief-based interpretation of the Mayan calendar I however think that it is necessary to discuss the nature of time and what it is that makes the Mayan calendar special. It is in other words important to know whether we have any reason to concern ourselves with the Mayan calendar in the first place. Why is it that unlike all other calendars the Mayan calendar has an end date? The answer to this is that the Mayan calendar expresses an entirely different kind of time than other calendars. Most calendars, such as the Gregorian, Muslim, Buddhist or Jewish calendars, are based on astronomical cycles and reflect continuous time. They describe measurable mechanic time, the aspect of time that the Greek would call Chronos, which is also the only one that is recognized in the modern world. Since astronomical cycles, whether they are cycles of the moon, the earth or the precessional cycle, will continue over the next billions of years or so there is however no reason that calendars based on them should ever come to an end. Since the Mayan calendar however has an end date this must obviously be based on another type of time than mechanical time and its end date must be discussed against the background of consciousness-based time – what the Greek would call Kairos and so we must ask what could be the origin of this.

If we go back to ancient sources to find out information about the origin of the Mayan Long Count they never say that this would be based on any astronomical cycle1. Instead, the Mayan sources, for instance at the Temple of the Inscriptions in Palenque, explicitly say that the Long Count is based on the World Tree or what other cultures usually refer to as the Tree of Life. As I will be describing in my forthcoming book The Purposeful Universe (Inner Traditions, December 2009) Mayan time is in fact quantized and describes different quantum states of the Cosmic Tree of Life. It is always against the background of such quantum shifts in time, and not continuously flowing astronomical cycles, we may understanding the defining moments of our lives, but also of human civilizations. The Cosmic Tree of Life at the center of our universe behind these quantum shifts was discovered by modern science only in 2003. Yet, the fact that it is real, and not a mere symbol or myth, calls for a revolution in how we view our whole existence. It affects not only science, but also how we understand religious prophecies, which often include references to the Tree of Life. Hence, for instance the Book of Revelation refers to this and it seems to be returning to our awareness in the nick of time. Since the Mayan calendar originates in the Tree of Life not only every day, but also every katun, baktun, pictun etc is associated with a symbol, such as a day-sign and a number, symbolic of its different quantum states. These states are then creating the geological and historical eras of cosmic evolution, which the Maya would refer to as ages. Many people are expecting a quantum shift as the Mayan calendar comes to an end – and rightly so – but a continuous astronomical cycle by definition never gives rise to quantum shifts. The reason the Mayan calendar is able to explain so many quantum jumps in the fossil record and paradigm shifts in the history of mankind (which is far from slow and continuous) is the very fact that unlike other calendars it is quantized.

The understanding of Mayan time as quantized also provides a meaningful way of looking at the so-called end date where it is not even potentially a preset end of the world. (This is why no one embracing the October 28, 2011 date has fallen to claim that it is a preset end of the world). The end date simply reflects the point in time when the Cosmic Tree of Life attains its highest quantum state. This also implies that it is not the beginning of a new cycle and it is only on this basis that it is rationally understandable that this state would serve to create a millennium of peace in the “New Jerusalem” as the new world is called in the Book of Revelation. To instead use a Hindu metaphor it becomes logical that the attainment of this highest state means liberation from the wheels (cycles) of Karma. As the student of the evidence-based Mayan calendar will know almost all conflicts and warfare in the history of mankind actually originate in quantum shifts between cosmic energies and only as those come to an end is there any serious reason to hope for the emergence of a world in harmony. Hence, in this interpretation of the Mayan calendar there is absolutely no reason to think that the end date means the end of life or a “doomsday” when the world is predetermined to come to an end.

What the end date does mean however is that on October 28, 2011 the shifts between energies will come to an end and it is thus no wonder that many intuitively sense that the year that follow upon this, 2012, is very special. The processes that have been driving cosmic evolution until now will no longer be operating and after some time for things to settle the human beings will be left to create evolution themselves. What this means is in my view that the end date is not just another shift. Instead it constitutes the end of the shifts that have been caused by alternations in the quantum states of the Tree of Life up until that point, exemplified by the abovementioned quantum shift that led to the decline of the economy as the fifth NIGHT began. Such a vision of a new Garden of Eden (albeit on a higher level) obviously lacks any rational basis among those advocating that we look upon the Mayan calendar as based on mechanical astronomical cycles, where a new cycle will then begin. To understand the liberation of mankind and a future return to the Garden of Eden however simply mandates quantized time. This illustrates an important principle, namely that even if the evidence-based Mayan calendar is not difficult to understand, it is not trivial. It is not something that you can thoughtlessly put in your old box of thinking. The Mayan calendar is fundamentally different from all other calendar and how and why that is is something that needs to be deeply honored and respected.

From this perspective, where we are approaching the end of cyclical changes and the highest quantum state of the universe, it is also logical that the economic meltdown that we are now in is not merely a “recession” or a “depression”, such as we know to have been precipitated in the past by NIGHTS in the calendar. The decline is instead the beginning of the end to the cycles of the economy. Yet, since we know from the study of the Mayan calendar that the time periods when the economy shrinks are the NIGHTS we can make some predictions as to how this end of the economic cycles is going to play out. The first pulse of bringing the growth economy down thus came with the fifth NIGHT and led to a rapid decrease in growth, a fall in stock values, and increases of lay-offs and foreclosures. We are currently in a period in between such NIGHTS, the sixth DAY (see Figure 2), when the same processes are continuing more slowly and may even temporarily be slightly reversed. Around the time that the Sixth NIGHT begins on November 8, 2009 we may however expect that the meltdown intensifies and the US dollar collapses and with it the established monetary system in the world. Many things may trigger such an event, but it is important to understand that whatever triggers it, and this may be some kind of political event, it is the energy of this NIGHT that will bring it about. This incidentally, is also why it is so important what will be made of the rebirth energy of the second half of the sixth DAY.

We can only imagine what such a collapse will mean, but I feel it is clear to everyone that the consequences for our every day lives will be very far-reaching. Because of the hardships many may come to lose faith in this Creation or think that we are being punished. I look upon it differently: The consciousness of the Galactic Underworld is already preplanned to set in a protective mechanism for the planet by first stopping the growth, which is what any cancer doctor would do before any healing could take place.2 As the reader may now realize we have come to a point where the discussion of the end date of the Mayan calendar is a critical issue since how we relate to the future will directly depend on it. This is neither academic hairsplitting nor irresponsible New Age fantasies. Those that advocate the evidence-based Mayan end date of October 28, 2011 may in fact advice people to prepare themselves for this further economic meltdown beforehand in the sixth NIGHT. Those that talk about December 21, 2012 are however, consistently with their logic, likely to continue to make projections on this fantasy screen in the future. What these people in effect are saying to people is “Do not prepare yourself for the New World now! Wait until the shift comes December 21, 2012!” since they do not recognize any quantum shifts before this point in time. To know the exact end date is then a matter of paramount importance to people, because it is their only way of knowing what quantum shift they are experiencing in the present moment. While many people advocating the December 21, 2012 date are simply jumping on a bandwagon to create some visibility for themselves (and sell various products) I feel it is time that they consider what kind of responsibility this implies also for other people. It is probably not an accident that the first major Hollywood movie, surely planned to confuse people about the Mayan calendar and tout the December 21, 2012 date is scheduled to be released in November of 2009 as the sixth NIGHT begins. The ruling media will then use the December 21 2012 date to manipulate the truth and of course there are always some that are willing to play along. It is quite easy to see in whose interest it is that the Mayan calendar in this way is projected to a time in the future when all alignment with it will be too late.

As the established international monetary system collapses in the sixth NIGHT things can go essentially in either of two directions. It will go either in the direction of a grass roots organization of a new economy without banks, interests or growth serving to create a world without dominance. A collapse of the international monetary system, especially if it is linked to a moratorium of all debts, holds the potential of paving the way to a world that is truly egalitarian, based on willful cooperation and where greed will not destroy the world. This of course precludes the existence of a banking and monetary system organized in the interest of a minority and driven by the craving for abstract values rather than human needs.

I think however that it would be naïve to think that such an implementation of a New World according to the cosmic plan would happen without resistance. Some want to hold onto power over others. To many more the downfall of the established order of dominance would be shocking because it would ruin their experience of security in a world that they have become accustomed to. The bankers, governments, medias and ruling establishments world wide will then naturally seek to set up a new single global currency and remain in control, which they are very well prepared for. This especially the case if people are unaware of the evidence-based Mayan calendar and are able to see this difficult period as part of a process designed to lead to a new world. I am however convinced that the upcoming Universal Underworld will bring a new unity consciousness carrying a bliss of just being and love and compassion for all things just the way they are. Thus, things may not become “better” in the sense they were spoken of in the old economy, but life will be more enjoyable because of a new level of consciousness in which things are perceived in another way. Thus, in the years ahead we are in for a confusing mixture of seemingly conflicting developments. A critical aspect of preparation for this is the knowledge that the evidence-based Mayan calendar ends October 28, 2011, which at least gives people a benchmark for the rhythms with which things will evolve even though it will take a certain time for things to settle also after this.

The vision that is emerging for the time ahead is thus neither that “the world is going to an end,” nor that “we will all be happily flying” at a certain preset date in the future. Instead, we see a fairly complex scenario based on the best evidence that we have for an understanding of the future. It has much in common with the difficult birth scenario for the “New Jerusalem” as this is presented in the Book of Revelation. As this book points out this is however not a world for everyone and it is a scenario that almost certainly will require spiritual strength and integrity to endure. I do not want to add any religious overtones to this discussion, but it seems clear that everyone who is aspiring to enter this new world must sincerely seek the truth and avoid simplistic explanations.

Even if the Mayan calendar thus is universal and fundamentally connected to the Book of Revelation it is nonetheless important to know how the contemporary Maya see their end date. Naturally, some of them are happy that their calendar has received worldwide attention and may just believe what the archeologists have been telling them, which is December 21, 2012 (The actual Long Count upon which this date is based went out of use among the Maya a long time ago and so this date has been forwarded to them by modern archeologists). But more authoritative sources such as Don Alejandro Oxlaj of the Council of Elders are not just jumping on the bandwagon. As anyone who has seen the interview I made with him two years ago (available on DVD from Mayan Majix) he rejects the December 21, 2012 date as a miscalculation (Something that at the time was actually a surprise to me). He also carries the prophecy of the Thirteen Baktuns and 13 Ahau, consistent with the October 28, 2011 date (which is 13 Ahau). Unlike myself he however does not specify an end date, even though we do agree that the last katun shift (beginning of the last 7200 day prophetic period) took place in 1992. Around this katun shift at February 10, 1992 we can also very clearly see that major events, a quantum shift, shaping the whole world took place: The end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union (December 25, 1991), the institution of the European Union, (February 7, 1992) and the launching of the World Wide Web (August 1991). By the time of the katun shift advocated by the December 21, 2012 people (John Jenkins says April 1993 in the “Doomsday” documentary on History Channel) the new world was thus already established. Also in the future the people embracing this end date will thus always be in the backwater of what is really happening in the world. This demonstrates the utmost importance of the end date and that those who want to be consciously part of the coming quantum shifts ahead and surf on the waves of creation that these generate will miss that opportunity if they reject the evidence based Mayan calendar with its end date of October 28, 2011. If you ignore the evidence and listen to the December 21, 2012 “alignment”3 prophets this is likely to have very serious direct consequences for your own life and how you approach the future. With the acceleration of time in the Galactic Underworld the difference of 420 days between the two end dates is literally as big as that between day and night.

The way it works is that the Galactic Underworld favors the right brain half to the detriment of the left brain half that is mediating abstract values and it is thus that we now see a collapse of abstract values such as digits in bank computers and paper bills. In an interview with Larry King a few months ago Bill Clinton stated that a third of the wealth of the world had been wiped out in the past year. This is an excellent example of thinking in terms of abstract values. In reality no real value had been wiped out. What had been wiped out were a third of the figures in the bank computers. This collapse of abstract values has still far from bottomed out.

The Rebirth Celebration
May 9-11, 2009

In May 2009 a major emanation from the Hunab-Ku, an unfathomably large intelligence in the center of the universe according to Mayan Cosmology, will inform a magnificent birth of cosmic proportions. This epoch period, the Mid-Point of the Sixth Day of the Galactic Underworld, gives humanity an unprecedented opportunity to cooperate with the forces of evolution to fulfill individual and collective purposes, and to create a sustainable world of harmony, abundance and balance with Nature. As with any birth, there is also death…death of that which is no longer supported by these new evolutionary energies. This article provides the background for this paradoxically auspicious and ominous moment, and what we can do personally and collectively to consciously participate in it.

To understand our current situation according to the Mayan calendar I believe it is necessary to first backtrack somewhat and look at what has happened at the most important of the recent shift points of the Galactic Underworld (see Figure 1). A very important such was the beginning of the fifth NIGHT, November 19, 2007. In my book The Mayan calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness, written in 2003, I ended the discussion about economy (page 233) with a prediction relating to this point in time: “Regardless of what forms such a [financial] collapse may take it seems that the best bet is for it to occur close to the time that the Fifth NIGHT begins, in November 2007 [strictly speaking the 19th].” This prediction was based on the fact that throughout cosmic history the fifth NIGHT has been a time when the old order often has come to be destroyed. Today, as economists agree that the global economic recession started in December of 2007, (see Figure 2) we can in retrospect see how amazingly accurate predictions may be if they are based on the true Mayan calendar. Even if predictions from it are not cut in stone it will nonetheless tell us what time periods that are conducive to certain activities and frames of mind.

A second very important shift point came with the beginning of the sixth DAY – November 12, 2008 – when, with the election of Obama as president of the US a week earlier, an energy of rebirth can be said to have manifested. This is also what had been predicted to begin at that particular time, which is symbolized by Yohalticitl, the goddess of birth. Barack Obama notably happens to be born on the Mayan day-sign 9 Ben, which is identical to the birthday of the United States, July 4, 1776, and thus plays a significant role in the history of this particular nation, in that he thus creates a full circle. His intentions to rule with transparency and with a more friendly and egalitarian relationship to other nations is certainly a welcome contrast to several of his predecessors. A sense of rebirth of ethical values has thus surrounded him creating an opening for a global unity on a larger scale.

We may however notice that the economy did not turn up again as the sixth DAY began. Why this was so can be understood on different levels. One is the economic in that the means of continuing the economic growth through expanding credit probably now have been exhausted. Everyone who takes a loan knows that this means taking resources from the future and the limits to how far this can be pushed have now been reached. Another level of understanding is that of the cosmic plan where we are now in the Galactic Underworld, which does not have economic and technological development as its primary purpose. On the contrary, the Galactic Underworld is about broadening the human horizon to a holistic viewpoint where we show concern for all of creation and the whole planet, which the world’s economic system has increasingly come in conflict with. We thus have reasons to seriously ask if the world will ever again experience a prolonged period of economic growth although the media keep talking about when the recession will end and the bankers and rulers of the world, Obama included, are taking measures that they say are to this effect.

What is now being tried in order to reactivate the growth economy is then to give the bankers tax-payer money so that they can lend the same money back to the tax-payers that they got it from. This may sound like a joke. Yet, the fact that so many have accepted this as necessary, and too complex for regular people to understand, shows how great the faith in the old ways still are. The reason the majority of people take it for granted that there will again be a period of economic growth some time in the future is that they were born into the Planetary Underworld. And indeed, if we study the wave movement of the Planetary Underworld that had the dominating effect on our consciousness between AD 1755 and AD 1999, we can see that economic growth periods alternated with recessions as a direct function of its shifts between DAYS and NIGHTS. DAYS meant upturns and NIGHTS downturns in the industrial economy. This very wave movement of the Planetary Underworld was however exactly what was transcended by the fifth NIGHT of the Galactic Underworld that began November 19, 2007. Will it then really in the current situation be possible for anyone to reactivate the growth economy? I personally do not think that this is the case except maybe for in limited sectors and to limited degrees. The decline will maybe slow down somewhat in this sixth DAY, but is likely to be intensified around the time the sixth NIGHT begins around November 7, 2009. The purpose of the current Galactic Underworld is thus different from that of the Planetary and is primarily to introduce relationships in the world based on a holistic global and egalitarian mindset, manifested in balanced relations between genders, nations, races and religions across the planet (and actually across the universe, but we know little about this). If we like we may thus look upon the whole Bush era as blocking this consciousness from manifesting.

Thus, while I feel that we are under the influence of the energies of the Mayan calendar (otherwise predictions would not have been possible) I also feel that our choices and the choices of different rulers influence how they manifest. Thus, certain policies of the Bush era might for instance have aggravated the situation. Regardless, I feel there is every reason to predict considerable hardships for many individuals who may lose their jobs, private economies and homes at the current time and the many, who in the time to come are likely to be faced with similar circumstances. An observer from a different planet may however look upon this also from a somewhat different perspective. He or she may look upon the end to the incessant growth economy as a sign that there is some hope that the planetary cancer is starting to recede and that there is some hope that humanity will actually survive and fulfill its purpose. In such a perspective we may look upon it as if the cosmic plan has now set in a protective mechanism for the Earth, since one thing we can be certain of is that if the growth economy does not come to an end then the world will come to an end. No one may be able to tell whether this would happen because of global warming, depletion of life in the oceans, destruction of the rainforests, the disappearance of the bees or something else. In fact, we do not really need to know what would trigger such a collapse of the planetary ecosystem, since the point to realize is that none of these threats to our environment can be looked upon in isolation from the others. They all have a common origin in an economy that for a long time has been based on incessant growth and now the frame of consciousness carried by the Galactic Underworld is forcing us to face the consequences of this.

I feel this means that in the years ahead we may expect to be faced with very difficult dilemmas on a personal level that usually do not have simple resolutions: “If I do not take care of myself, who will? Yet, if I do not care for the larger whole, who am I?” We may of course put the blame for the downturn of the economy on the bankers and others, who created the economy that led us to live off the resources of the future. This however does not change very much, and it is also probably difficult to find someone who in one way or another did not to some extent benefit from this in a material sense. Thus, with few exceptions human beings have not voluntarily been willing to set an end to the growth.

What then is there to do in this situation we may ask? If the economy will never start to grow again, what will emerge in its place? Many realize that what needs to happen is a transition to a sustainable economy, something that humanity has not experienced for some 5000 years. This would mean a return to a non-dualist Garden of Eden in balance with the environment at a new and higher level, a transition that many will probably find very difficult and almost incomprehensible to grasp mentally speaking. We may for instance take note of the fact that no world leader or economist is currently advocating a shift to an economy that is sustainable. So far, few have even started to consider that there will be no upturn in the economy, and when this starts to dawn on people we may in fact come to witness all kinds of actions of desperation and social unrest taking somewhat different forms in different cultures. Many hierarchical structures are likely to collapse.

Will a sustainable economy then emerge? Well, there is no answer to this in the Mayan calendar, simply because it depends on the choices people will make in the time ahead and what they focus on creating. In the perspective of such a collective choice determining the future of humanity, it however seems plain silly when you hear people claim that the Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world from pole shifts, asteroids, natural disasters, sunspots or other physical events outside of ourselves. The reality is that the Mayan calendar describes the evolution of consciousness and for the future does not predict anything except for what emanates, directly or indirectly, from the human beings themselves. Another way of saying the same thing is that there are no “consciousness shifts” happening on this planet outside of ourselves. The exact time of the downturn of the economy was predictable from the Mayan calendar for the very reason that this was a result of human behavior that is conditioned by the resonance with the Cosmic Tree of Life. The Cosmic Tree of Life, according to Mayan, and other ancient traditions is an unfathomably large intelligence, Hunab-Ku, at the center of the universe that makes quantum jumps at critical shift points in the calendar. The existence of such a central axis of the universe has recently (2003) been discovered by science, which I believe to be one of the most consequential discoveries of all time and elaborate on in the forthcoming The Purposeful Universe (Inner Traditions, December 2009). It is the energies emanating from this Cosmic Tree of Life that serve to synchronize evolution on all levels of the universe. It is through our own resonance with this, and with its quantum shifts, that we are inspired to create our world in accordance with the wave movements of seven DAYS and six NIGHTS in the cosmic plan.

From this perspective the talk of a predetermined “doomsday,” as presented by the History Channel or in upcoming Hollywood movies, simply seems absurd for anyone knowledgeable about the Mayan calendar. Such thinking merely serves to instill fear and to deflect our attention from the real issues at hand. Even if it may be true that the world may come to an end if we are not able to successfully transit to a sustainable economy, this would not be because of any preset “doomsday”. Such a disaster would instead be something that humanity has collectively (with some having greater responsibility than others) brought upon itself. If anything it would be caused by how we have ignored the message of the Mayan calendar, which is that we are meant to transit to a state of peace in oneness. Projections of fears or dreams onto a Y2K date in the future is a way of thinking that I believe is very disempowering and removes the responsibility for the course of events from our actions in the present moment.

To avoid such projections I feel it is necessary to ground our intentions and actions in the changing energies of the Mayan calendar that we are living through in the present moment and look at what kind of intentions these may empower in us now. Our understanding of these may be based on parallels between different Underworlds such as the exact prediction of the time for the beginning of the economic decline. This was based on the analogy with the year 1932, the beginning of the Fifth NIGHT of the Planetary Underworld, which meant the beginning of the Great Depression on a global scale. With the same reasoning of making parallels between different Underworlds we may now also look at our current situation as we approach the midpoint of the sixth DAY of the Galactic Underworld on May 11, 2009 (10 Ahau) and its continuation into its second half until November 7, 2009. The shift date is a parallel to the year 1962 (which was the midpoint of the sixth DAY of the Planetary Underworld) and the second half to the time period 1962-1972. We may then want to recall what happened during this time period. 1962 was the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis, a shift point from which the Cold War would start to thaw and the year later the Beatles phenomenon exploded. I was privileged to be in England at the time and experience this first hand before it went on to most of Europe and later to the US. The point here is of course not to emphasize the musical phenomenon as such, but that this was the beginning of an intense wave of novelty that would create a tremendous cultural rebirth and social experimentation that in the years ahead would sweep the world from Mai 68 in France to Flower power, hippies and the peace movement in the US. This movement had distinct characters in different countries, and yet was very much globally synchronized in time. It was carried by a desire to test new ways of being outside of the control of the “establishment” in every area of life and no authority was taken for granted. We may today look upon some its expressions as excesses, such as for instance the cultural revolution in China, but the fact remains that our current world still owes much of its egalitarianism and openness to what was created in this era.

Needless to say, the world today is very different from 1962 and if nothing else it is dominated by another Underworld, where economic growth is constrained. Yet, it seems to me that this kind of an experimental attitude is exactly what is needed at the present time when a chief challenge is a grass roots creation of a sustainable economy. Any time of crisis fosters new creativity, which may take many forms of self-organizing collectives that escape the dominance of the ruling hierarchies. Moreover, if the downturn in the economy was predictable based on the Mayan calendar we have reasons to suspect that an intensified grass roots creativity will be supported by the Tree of Life in the time ahead. It has already become clear that in the current situation the old ways do not work for people in general and that something new will have to emerge. I feel if we do not understand this now, it will definitely be clear during the sixth NIGHT, November 7, 2009 to November 2, 2010, that the return to the growth economy is not possible. For this reason we are inviting you to participate in a global meditation on May 9-11 to focus on the creation of a sustainable economy for the first time in 5000 years. This is an intention that millions of people share, but it is an altogether different matter to see it transcend the growth economy on a global scale.

What we can do is in meditation to look at who we need to be for this to happen. I also believe that the increasing awareness of the Cosmic Tree of Life, currently shared only by a very small minority of the Earth’s population, will help to create the increased compassion that will be much needed as humanity seeks new ways of sharing resources, jobs etc. Thus a spirit of sharing, collaboration and compassion needs to color the global meditation at the midpoint of the Sixth DAY, May 9-11, 2009. If the new ways do not embody such a compassion and collaboration they are simply likely to reproduce the old. A global meditation clearly does not by itself solve the problems of mankind. But it does help! By focusing on connecting with the Cosmic Tree of Life, which in Mayan and other ancient myths are behind the different eras humanity is living through, we may help create the necessary compassion to fulfill our own purpose as this attains its highest state on the energy of 13 Ahau on October 28, 2011. In a global meditation we may focus on inspiring the grass root creativity that will be needed to transit to a sustainable Garden of Eden that on my own part I am convinced is the purpose of the cosmic plan.

The primary focus of current affairs seems to be the global economic meltdown and global warming, two very apt metaphors for our time. These also have correspondences in our personal lives: lost jobs and homes, large-scale failure of systems we've relied on for modern conveniences and our livelihood, diminishing future prospects for economic growth, fear of biospheric collapse, and a general malaise with the state of the world.

Yet, as Carl discusses above, forward movement now in evolution is in the realm of consciousness; it is our consciousness that is evolving, as well as the consciousness of all life. In view of this, we are served also by looking at the inner dimensions of these outer changes. Here we may find not only solace and a place of spiritual grounding, but also solid footing on the path moving us consciously and gracefully through these exciting times, which are pregnant with possibilities and opportunities.

The current warming of the planet and the melting of the economy are clear results of the consciousness that informed the human activity that led to these conditions: 1) In terms of global warming, consciousness that is disconnected from and dispassionate to its impact on the environment; 2) In terms of the economy, a consciousness disconnected from and disempowered of its own value in relationship to its environment. So while on the surface these may seem like unrelated phenomenon, the reality is a deep relatedness that has holistic implications especially relevant for the times. Fortunately however, as Carl points out, "consciousness" is changing and evolving; it is being directed by cosmic forces embedded deep in the central Intelligence of the universe, which some may call God, G-d, Allah, Brahman, Universal Intelligence, Great Spirit or Hunab-Ku. This Intelligence is holographically nested in each of us. It is now calling us to rely on "It" and consciously co-operate with evolution.

We can look out through It…and to It, and become awed, gracious and humbled by Beauty, Truth, Grace, Harmony, Abundance, Divine Balance and Love. Or we can obscure It by focusing on the distorted creations and lesser manifestations of humankind, which resulted from a fragmented, separatist, greedy, self-absorbed consciousness. Fortunately, our consciousness is evolving holistically by the Grace of G-d – by these cosmic emanations – and we do not have to contemplate a future that is a mere extrapolation from the past. In fact, one of the more profound insights from the genius and insight of the Mayans is this: the energies that give rise to our manifested world change along a divine plan with which we can consciously align, and that by doing so, we move into greater perfection with the divine plan. In other words, the world that was is not what informs a new world. What informs a new world and our new lives are powerful forces continually emanating from the inter-dimensional, creative core and Intelligence of the universe. The Big Bang should no longer be perceived as solely a historic event; rather, it is also the ultimate present moment, THE Holy Moment: the perpetual bringing forth of new Light from the Creative Heart and Mind of the living universe. By creating resonance with that Heart-Mind, we cooperate and thus quicken the cosmic plan of creation. This will be the core shared intention of the Rebirth Celebration Concordance: I AM resonating with the Creative Heart-Mind of the Living Universe. I AM the Creative Heart-Mind of the Living Universe.

Exhale and smile: I AM the Creative Heart-Mind of the Living Universe.

Those who focus on what's falling away, melting, dissolving – on what is no longer supported by new evolutionary energies – may become despondent, fearful, scarce in their thinking, jealous of opportunities, possessive of their resources, and mindless to the consequences of their actions on others and on the environment. This is the very behavior that is no longer supported by the underlying evolutionary impulses. Any system of a personal, social, economic, political, educational, commercial or medical nature that was based on features of scarcity, separatism, greed, domination, control, imbalance, force, conflict, etc. have lost their energetic foundation and are dissolving back into the void as we speak. Amen and, respectfully, good riddance.

What is emerging now…what is being supported by the new evolutionary energies are people creating systems based on collaboration, harmony, the implicit abundance of nature, egalitarian awareness, the explicit and indelible nature of interrelatedness, interdependency and interconnection. We may look around us with innocent eyes and joyously behold:
• a massive proliferation of social networking that has infiltrated all aspects of society and commerce;
• technology enabling collaboration that crosses geopolitical, economic and ideological lines;
• a massive "greening" movement that is increasing awareness of our impact on the environment, with inspiring and creative programs being developed around the world to restore our balance with nature;
• free and sustainable sources of energy that are slowly making their way into the common awareness;
• new partnerships forming between long-time competitors;
• software being developed "free" by global communities of programmers in "open source" models;
• ideas being shared and new economic models proliferating in communities around the world, giving rise to alternative forms of currencies and exchange of value between individuals without requiring a central bank or government to control…or to demand a toll from each of us for the pleasure of their exploitation;
• humanity collectively solving stubborn problems like hunger, poverty and contagious diseases without waiting for governments or other political systems.

These holistic, collaborative, more balanced, more ecologically aligned creations are themselves an out-picturing of the new human consciousness informing these worldly innovations. However, being focused on the dissolution of old systems may blind us to these new emergent properties and to the magical nature of our times. This blindedness will inevitably disempower us and prohibit our eyes-wide-open involvement. It will stop us from asking pertinent questions, the answers of which will ignite our own personal fulfillment and purpose now. Questions like: What are the characteristics of this new evolutionary wave that is impinging on my inner nature? What is the deeper meaning of global warming, economics, increasing novelty and accelerating time from an interior, self-reflective point of view…the "inner ecology" of personal transformation? How can I best serve this unfoldment for my personal and community welfare? How can I quicken my own alignment with these new and exciting transformational energies being released upon the planet now?

What was once viewed as paradoxical or oxymoronic can now make sense and be seen or felt in the higher light of multidimensional awareness. Now is the time we've been waiting for. It's not in 2012 or some other imaginary date in the future. It's about now; it is now.

This is what the Rebirth Celebration is about on May 9, 10 and 11 of 2009. Leading up to this grand celebration and the global meditation/prayer/concordance is a dialogue occurring in the www.CommonPassion.org discussion forum. Here we access the collective wisdom, creativity and genius to answer the above questions, and this one: ¨What is being birthed?!" Ultimately the answers are in the living of our lives, which we do consciously, intentionally and collectively together as we navigate this magnificent shift of the ages.

The Truth of the Mayan Calendar

Mattias Almlöf, who previously has been blogging about the Mayan calendar, has now instead attacked it claiming that it is a fraud that is part of a new world order. See Mayan Calendar- a fraud or truth on http://mayancalendar.blogspot.com/2007/09/coba-stone-fraud-or-truth.html. Not only myself, but also Gorbachev, the World Health Organization, Alex Jones, David Icke, JES Thompson, Barbara Hand Clow, Osama bin Laden, the world religions, The Mayan elders and New Age also seem in his view to be part of this conspiracy and it is not clear who, except for Mattias himself, that he does not include in it. Almlöf asserts that the Mayan calendar is a fraud, a strange word in this context, since it would imply that someone has falsified data or has a hidden agenda for personal gain. The reader who is looking for some juicy revelation in his text is however likely to be disappointed, not surprisingly since no such fraud can be found in my work. I cannot tell for certain, but it seems that what he is proposing as an alternative to the Mayan calendar is a world view where there is no divine plan or higher purpose and we are all going to fall under the spell of a new world order. To me such nqa prospect seems to be to go back to square one.

I would however like to take some responsibility for the fact that only a small portion of the evidence for the Mayan calendar has so far been published. I will try to make up for it in a forthcoming book about biological evolution, but will also address the two concrete points that Almlöf has raised to prove that the Mayan calendar is a ”fraud”, the Coba Stone and the end date of the Long Count proposed among others by JES Thompson.

The Coba Stone, which today incidentally is so badly eroded that it is hard to read, can of course be interpreted in many ways. If you were to ask the regular tour guides in Mexico

this stone is just a superstition that lacks meaning, essentially what Almlöf is saying. Almlöf says that the stone is a fraud, but what does he mean by that? Does he mean that the scribes that erected the stone some fifteen hundred years ago were fraudulent or does he mean that the stone itself is a fraud and not really having the origin that it is claimed? No academic Mayanist would however be likely to agree with him in either meaning he gives to fraud. He also claims that the stele shows a date around AD 1600, quite in contrast to scholars who look upon it as a marker of a creation date and pointing to the ancient Mayan view of several creations (see Freidel, Schele and Parker’s Maya Cosmos from 1993). No Mayanist would seriously assert like him that the number of time periods in the various Underworlds would be fourteen. Anyone who has met any Mayan elder or knows the least about their calendar system knows that thirteen was a most holy number embedded in their world view of cyclical time and in this regard the Coba Stone is no exception. The evidence that the Long Count was made up of thirteen baktuns and the short counts among the Post-Classical Maya was thirteen katuns is overwhelming and Almlöf may be alone in the world in disputing this.

When it comes to the correlation of the long count and the Gregorian calendar upon which current ”end dates” of the calendar have been computed I would like to refer to

Ultimately the GMT correlation that today most every Mayanist accepts in one of its forms (584 283, 584 284 or 584 285) is based on back calculations from so called ”short counts” 13- katun periods recorded in the post-colonial period and then substantiatied by many other findings such as carbon-14 datings. It seems Almlöf has not found the relevant books to read about this, but then again it also seems premature to conclude from just one book written in 1927 that he has read taht there is no evidence for the GMT correlation. Of course, every one has the right to his own opinion, but this is a question that an enormous amount of effort by scholars has gone into over at least the

past hundred years and I feel it is unfair to that collective effort to take it so lightly.

As I have pointed out in my books I agree with the GMT (584 283) archaeologically speaking, but based among other things on indications in Palenque that this start date needed to be corrected, and the necessity of ending the creation cycles on a day that is 13 Ahau, I have concluded that energetically the completion of the Underworlds take place on the date October 28, 2011, rather than on December 21, 2012. (See for instance the recent speech by Don Alejandro at the Guatemalan presidential inauguration talking about the prophecy of 13 Ahau).

The thing is that if you look upon creation as organized in Nine Underworlds,

each subdivided into thirteen Heavens, all of evolution makes sense. History as well as

biological evolution then become clear expression of time energies, whichever way you slice it. The basic criterion for the acceptance of a scientific theory is that it should explain as many facts as possible with the simplest intellectual structure and personally I find it absolutely clear that the Mayan calendar meets this criterion. It should also be able to predict previously unknown phenomena from this structure. And there is an interesting example of this: In my first book Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time: The Mayan Calendar (2001) I described how biological evolution takes place according to the alautun rhythm of the Mammalian Underworld (63.1 million years) something that was quite counter to the notions of Darwinist biologists. Such a (62 + 3 million years) alautun based rhythm for evolution was however verified in a study published in in 2004 Nature, the most prestigious of scientific journals
(see http://www.lbl.gov/Science-Articles/Archive/Phys-fossil-biodiversity.html), and provides compelling evidence for the Mayan calendar and the Coba Stone in the area of biological evolution, a level of evolution that, to make the evidence even more compelling, is not impacted by human choices. The evidence is there for anyone to see and to be compared to my initial hypothesis in my first book (pages 85-108).

Does this evidence then mean that I think the Mayan calendar will be accepted anytime soon by established science? Personally, I doubt. There are enormous interests involved in denying the existence of a divine plan and the metaphysical bias of most of today’s scientists would not allow for any form of intelligent design of the universe. Quite in contrast to Newton and Einstein, who wanted to be able to read the thoughts of God, many scientists today are sworn atheists persecuting creationists and seeking to purge from science all evidence of the existence of a creator and a higher plan. Evidence for the Mayan calendar is then likely to be ignored by today’s scientific community unless for some reason it is forced to consider it seriously, in which case it will probably raise exactly the kinds of arguments against the Mayan calendar that Almlöf does. I have found that in dealings with many people truth weighs relatively light and what most people are interested in is to cement the world view they have already decided upon. What they miss out on by doing so however is the chance to be an expression of the will of God.

Imix - Crocodile, Alligator or Turtle
This is the bare Earth. But there is nourishment ready. Earth rose from the waters and Earth faces the Sun. Earth gives birth and Earth swallows the dead.

Ik - Wind
The Buddha once told of the origins of Life. After there was Earth, the Spirits tasted it and loved to devour so much of it that they soon became forms. Thus the spirits transform the Earth and Life begins. Look up at a Full Moon. Study the shape of the Moon Goddess holding her rabbit with outstretched arms. On her nose is the “T” shape used by the Maya for this glyph signifying the breath of the Goddess.

Akbal - Night, the Hearth, Foredawn
As the spirit moves, so consciousness is created. Dreaming begins. We are still only a potentiality. Which dream will we follow? “Am I dreaming I am a butterfly or am I a butterfly dreaming I am a man?” We are One Earth dreaming six billion dreams.

Kan - Lizard, Net, Seed
Self-contained! The Lizard meditates in the Sun as he guards the ancient temple grounds. Like a net gathering shrimp or the seed just planted in the ground, there is great fertility and primal urges.

Chicchan - Serpent
Kundalini rising. The root breaks the shell of the seed and like a tongue sticking out soaks up the delicious nourishing Earth. We all desire to taste of the Earth. We are light beings full from devouring, we want more and we are passionate in love and lust.

Cimi - Death, the ultimate transformation we all must go through
Understanding that there really is no Death because we are Light Beings brings great healing and peace.

Manik – Deer
Graceful, protective, psychic. The peyote is the footprint of the Deer. After tasting Death and getting a glimpse of the afterlife, we develop compassion, our strength is renewed. We practice patience and toleration. There is a sense of past and future melding into the now.

Lamat - Star, Rabbit, Venus Incarnate
Strong feminine energy. Rabbits live in a burrow, so look deep within yourself, connect to your solar plexus chakra. Give thanks to the source of all that is!

Muluc - Offering, Water, Moon
In the Popol Vuh, Tojil is the god who bestows fire to the human race, but it comes at a price…in exchange for the power of fire, Tojil demands humans let him “suckle” them. In other words, there must be a blood sacrifice, an offering. The Moon Goddess is offers a rabbit. There is great emotional strife if we don’t let go and let it be. When we are free of our obligations there is equilibrium and calm.

Oc - Dog
Love, companionship, loyalty, wolves in sheep’s clothing, random f*#&ing in the streets are all characteristics of Dog. If we are with a partner, these can be great days, for loners there is little recourse. Dog is our companion in life and our guide down the Saq Be when we cross over.

Chuen - Monkey, Raccoon
Tinkering, trying new things, making practical jokes or life generally going haywire mark the days of the Monkey. In previous eras of creation Monkeys were like humans but the gods allowed them to degenerate back to monkeys because they failed to give thanks to their creators properly. Monkey begins the second half of the Uinal (20 day cycle).

Eb - Road, Grass, Human (sometimes Tooth)
Finally, personhood is achieved, but we must remain humble before the Creator and the universe. There is much to see and to do so we must move on down the road. We are also fruitful and multiplying like the grass upon the Earth.

Ben – Reed
The staff of the patriarch, the beam that holds the roof of the house. A reed flute takes the wind and creates beautiful sounds that move our heart, so in that way a reed is like a bridge between Heaven and Earth.

Ix – Jaguar
The Shamanic clan with knowledge of Earth’s magic. Cool like the cats they are, jaguars totally rule! Highly tuned intuition, graceful, and independent…Give a jaguar some catnip!

Men –Eagle
Warriors of the highest order! Eagles are visionary and Neptunian, escapists, scouts, though somewhat delusional.

Cib – Owl, Vulture, Incense, Wisdom
After having the visions of the Eagle, we gain the Wisdom of the owl. Vultures also are wise, they know we will all lay down and die if they are just patient enough! Incense is known as the “Brains of the sky”. It is a very good suggestion to go out and sit on a rock on Cib days!

Caban - Earth
Earthquakes! Bees and their honey. Rock and Reggae! Feel the Groove, Man! Let’s get those tectonic plates moving, it’s Earth-day! The crocodile that was cold hard, dirt, reality has found its self-awareness and is celebrating.

Edznab – Flint, Mirror, the Obsidian Sacrificial Knife
After we are self-aware, we look around and see the same thing happened to all of us together. We are one being reflecting upon itself to infinity.

Kawak - Rainstorm
The April showers that bring May flowers. Since we are One being having an infinite experience of itself, all must be nourished equally. “In every life a little rain must fall.” I personally know many beautiful Rainstorms; they are joyful and passionate about living life to its fullest. Singing in the rain, just singing in the rain….

Ahau – Sun, Light, Lord, Flower
All things must pass; we are all the Light. The fruition complete, we can simply Be. “Live simply that others may simply live.” “Do unto others….” “Do not hide your light under a bushel.” “Be a lantern unto yourself.”

The glyph signifies a glass of water. The top part is the mouth; the vertical lines represent the roundness. It also represents the maternal breasts, ready to provide milk to the child. It also represents a hand stretched downward.

THE DAY
This day is good to increase the internal powers. It is a good day to fortify the spirit. It is a good day to ask for rain; for the purification of the rivers, lakes and oceans. This day is utilized to capture the messages of the divine and of nature; to ask for the return of the couple; to be able to receive the messages through the dreams; to ask for the good crops; to help return somebody that is far away from their land. The question of the Mayan calendar end date

For some time now there has been a discussion going on as to what is the exact end-date of the Mayan calendar. This debate was recently fueled by the rejection by Don Alejandro Oxlaj, head of the council of elders of the Maya, of the December 21, 2012 date promoted by archeologists. A newcomer to this field may be surprised at the aggressiveness this statement has been responded to at web pages such as the forum at Sacredroad.org or John Jenkins http://www.alignment2012.com/eldersand2012-exchange.html. This aggressiveness, which by the way has been directed more against me than to Don Alejandro, who actually made the statement attests to the importance of the question and especially the understanding of the cosmic plan that lies underneath it. Hopefully Don Alejandro’s rejection (in no uncertain terms) of the December 21, 2012 end date will mean that some will dig deeper to understand the evolution of consciousness and make an attempt to understand what this end date really is based on.

Yet, the fundamental issue at hand is not so much what is the actual enddate of the Mayan calendar, but how we are to understand this calendar and its relationship to the cosmic plan. This is also why the enddate question requires an open mind and even a fairly deep knowledge of Mayan calendrics to address. Those that promote the December 21, 2012 date almost invariably lack a model for understanding evolution based on the Mayan calendar and are instead placing all the importance on what will happen on one particular day; December 21, 2012. What they suggest for this date is typically an event in the sky or a pole shift, a comet that will hit the earth or some other physical or astronomical singular event. In my view the most absurd of these interpretations is probably a book that sets out to prove that this is the day when the world will come to an end because of a pole shift and there is nothing we can do about it (The Orion Prophecy). For someone who does not have a scientific training and background its purported "mathematical proof" for this may even seem impressive. Those supporting the December 21, 2012 date, such as www.diagnosis2012.co.uk, prefer such depressing rubbish to an analysis of the evolution of consciousness, simply because it is consistent with the end date they propose. To them, the end date has become like a religion and if some author agrees with this anything goes. That representatives of the contemporary Maya reject this end date will then obviously not be popular among them as they do not attribute any meaning to the Mayan calendar apart from what may happen on this particular day.

At a time when we may soon expect a much expanded interest in the meaning of the Mayan calendar such interpretations of an event taking place on a special date are obviously very much welcomed by the defenders of the established order for the simple reason that they do not imply that we need to participate in a process of evolution of consciousness. Moreover, if the Mayan calendar is only about an event that happens in the sky what else would there be to do other than sit and wait with arms crossed for this event to take place? Fortunately, for the serious student of the Mayan calendar system, it has a much greater richness than this and may help people understand both the past and the future and at the same time provide a meaningful spiritual context for life.

Those defending the December 21, 2012 date however never link the Mayan calendar to a model for the evolution of consciousness and strongly oppose the very serious work that has been made to verify - literally a mountain of evidence - that it describes an ongoing evolution from the Big Bang until the present time. One of the conclusions that we may draw from this body of evidence is that in the next few years we may expect a downfall of all hierarchical structures and especially those that are based on Western dominance of the world. Another prediction is that the rule of darkness in the time period November 19, 2007 to November 13, 2008, will be a very oppressive period exerted by exactly those forces that will make their last desperate attempt to maintain their dominance of the world. If this time period is confused with a period of light many people will go along with it in the same way as happened when this very same energy ruled the world, and especially Germany, during the era 1932-1952. It then seems obvious that the ruling circles of our planet do not want this information to reach the broader public and the defenders of the December 21, 2012 date that deny that we are living in an ongoing evolution of consciousness are playing directly into their hands. When the reaction comes in November of 2007 the ruling elite, primarily based in the US, would much rather have people think that nobody should be able to question their rule and that spiritual freedom is impossible. In that time the proponents of the December 21, 2012 date will come in very handy for the rulers and all ideas that the Mayan calendar describes an evolution towards oneness and balance will be suppressed. Of course, these statements are not based on some divine revelation, but with analogies that associate this time period with corresponding destructive eras in the past. The primary reason that the enddate is important is in my view that it strongly colors our perception of the present and the immediate time ahead.

Would it not be because the question of the enddate is important for the present and how people will understand the upcoming energies of Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca I would see no reason to discuss it, especially not considering all the negative projections - far from a spirit of oneness - that it seems to give rise to among some. It is at the present time very important to discuss the upcoming energies of Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca, but the December 21 people are trying to sweep it under the rug.

Hence, the issue of the enddate is not so much a question of the particular date we favor, but what philosophy we adhere to and what vision of the world we would like to promote. Those denying the existence of a cosmic time plan leading towards a state of oneness have nothing to offer but the status quo and those seems to be the very people that are obsessed by being right about the December 21 enddate. To them, the most important argument in favor of the December 21, 2012 date seems to be that there is agreement among the archeologists about it and hence no one should question it. But since modern archeologists approach the Mayan calendar as a superstition to begin with how could they possibly know when the completion date of the divine process of creation would be? The divine plan is not their field of study. Only someone who sets out to understand how the Mayan calendar describes the cosmic plan would be able to arrive at the correct enddate for this.

To grasp the origin of this enddate it needs first to be pointed out that there is a fundamental misunderstanding among modern people about the Mayan Long Count. This misunderstanding is that the ancient Maya devised this calendar by targeting a particularend date. Although this may seem exciting to ourselves as we are living in that time it simply is not correct. The inscriptions from the ancient Maya in fact exclusively deal with describing the beginning of the Long Count, the creation date, which was set at August 11, 3114. The Mayan royalty living some 3500 years later sought to legitimize their positions by tracing their ancestry back to the beginning of this creation and wanted to understand this creation that their power was based on. Only those that have studied Mayan calendrics in some depth will know that the inscriptions deal with the creation date and not with the end date. The exact placement of this beginning date of the Long Count falls on the date that the sun was in zenith in Izapa, where the Long Count most likely was devised. Hence we have every reason to believe that it was this solar zenith day that its ending date was based on. The end date of the Long Count will simply fall exactly 1.872.000 days after this zenith date, which places it at December 21, 2012. Hence, the end date touted by the archeologists, December 21, 2012, directly depends on the fact that the people living in Izapa at the time thought of August 11, the date the sun was in zenith in their own particular temple city, as a holy day. Because of its zenith character it had probably for a long time been regarded as a day "when time began", as indeed it meant the beginning of a yearly cycle that determined the changing seasons in that location.

From a wider perspective the problem with this beginning date is then that it lacks relevance to the world at large. Why would this zenith date, which the beginning of the Long Count is set at, matter to people living in other locations than Izapa (or on the same latitude)? Well, it obviously does not play a role for people living in other parts of the world, and is simply based on the desire of the Izapans to emphasize their own particular location and tradition. Hence, believing that the energetic beginning of the Long Count falls on the day that "time began" in Izapa is like believing that Jesus was actually born on Christmas Day. The parallel is that in both cases an older tradition, the pagan midwinter solstice in the case of the Christians, which was not related to what really was to be celebrated, was simply taken over by a new calendrical tradition. That such an ancient established highly localized tradition of the importance of the solar zenith in Izapa now seems to dominate the perception of some currently interested in the Mayan calendar and so the modern proponents of the December 21, 2012 date are stuck in the same established tradition as the ancient Izapans were. Thus, to many of them it is not permitted for a scientist to broaden his perspective or question something that the archeologists all seem to agree upon. One might wonder where science would be today if such local traditions would never have been questioned. In my view, it is the task of science to arrive at an increasingly holistic understanding of the world and being stuck in a local tradition (even if it is Mayan or proto-Mayan) prevents the emergence of an understanding of the cosmic plan that is relevant to our entire planet.

The second reason that we may understand the December 21, 2012 date to be wrong is that it falls on the tzolkin day 4 Ahau, since this is not a completion energy. It must fall on a date that is 13 Ahau, since this is the tzolkin energy towards which all the tzolkin energies are moving. This may be a more difficult argument to grasp than that the beginning of the traditional Long Count is based on a local tradition. To realize that the actual enddate must fall on an energy that is a 13 Ahau date essentially requires of someone that he or she for a relatively long time have followed exclusively the true tzolkin count. Only in that way would one be able to personally experience the energy shifts, and unfortunately not so many people do that. If people mix two different counts that we may be certain that there is too much confusion for the actual energy shifts to be felt. Yet, it is important to know that Don Alejandro speaks about a prophecy of the return of 13 Ahau that seems to have survived through the ages. Carlos Cedillo also alerted me to a passage in the Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel that describes the energy of 13 Ahau as follows: "Holy completion of time, truly" - a statement not found regarding any other tzolkin energy in these prophetic Mayan books written a few hundred years ago. From a knowledge of the tzolkin it simply seems logical that the true Mayan calendar should end on a day that has the energy of 13 Ahau.

The placement of the enddate of this creation at the particular 13 Ahau energy of October 28, 2011 is supported by what seems to be a correction made in Palenque to the original Izapan Long Count several hundred years later. Most likely the priests of Palenque, who obviously meticulously followed the true tzolkin count then started to feel that there was something wrong with the correlation between the Izapan Long Count and the tzolkin. (Since they were living in Palenque they were not attached to or tuned in to the Izapan solstice date). The correction that they hinted at was however not implemented as a change of the Izapan Long Count because of the forbidding consequences. (Somebody who doubts that should consider how easy it would be to change the Gregorian calendar if the date of birth of Jesus was determined with absolute certainty). Such a change would not have been possible because of the enormous role that the Long Count had in legitimizing the rule of the Palenquean dynasty and providing stability to its society. Hence, its priests could only hint that the Izapan Long Count missed the mark by 420 days.

Hence, you might say that the Palenquean priests around AD 600 began to feel something that is similar to what many are beginning to feel today. This is that there is something wrong with the December 21, 2012 enddate of the Long Count. This experience will only increase in the years to come at least among those that are not content with repeating what other people are saying and who actually are able themselves to experience the wave movement of divine creation towards the state of oneness. And it is to those that I am primarily addressing myself, because it is those that may craft the path that the divine plan seems to be laying out for us. I am not primarily addressing myself to those for whom it is more important to be right about a date than to facilitate the spiritual future of humanity. In this context I would also like to point out that many people have a strong intuitive sense that the year 2012 will mean something special. This intuitive sense is fully consistent with the October 28, 2011 date, since if the divine process of creation is completed on that day it will indeed be the year 2012 that will usher the great change. If instead the completion of divine creation would fall on the Izapan enddate, December 21, 2012, it would be the year 2013 that would harvest the change. Intuitively, most seem to favor the 2012 date and I feel this promises that as we come closer people will increasingly be drawn to the energetically correct enddate, October 28, 2011.

The Hidden Agenda of theDreamspell / Thirteen Moon Calendar

To much of the world a calendar system invented by José and Lloydine Argüelles in the early nineties: The Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon Calendar has come to be known as “the Mayan Calendar”. Despite the fact that this is a calendar system that has never been used by the Maya. In the words of Adam Rubel of Saq Be, an organization reflecting indigenous and especially Mayan views:“Regarding the dreamspell and work of Argüelles: It has been made clear, I think everybody here understands, the need to distinguish this system from any relation to the Mayan tradition. […] This is the wish of the elders, that the confusion and misrepresentation cease.”

Despite this wish of the Mayan elders, many of its protagonists have however been falsely presenting it as Mayan.. Mostly this is because of a lack of knowledge about the true Mayan calendar, but also because those teaching the Dreamspell calendar do not provide adequate information about the origin of this and why it was invented.

The structure of the calendar system known as the Thirteen Moon calendar/Dreamspell is basically as follows: It proposes that we use a calendar of Thirteen different Moons of 28 days – presented as the feminine cycle – to which a “day out of time” on July 25 is added to account for the 365 days of a solar year (13 x 28 +1 = 365 days). Linked to this is a count of the 20 glyphs and 13 numbers that have been borrowed from the Sacred Mayan Calendar of 260 days. Yet, in the Dreamspell calendar the symbols are associated to the days in an entirely different way compared to in the true calendar meaning that when people are given their purported Mayan tzolkin day of birth in this system, called the “Galactic Signature”, this is invariably different from the Sacred Calendar symbols that the Maya have been and are using for that particular day. Thousands have been misled into thinking that this is their true Mayan day-sign.
How Mayan is then this system? Except for the signs and symbols used in the tzolkin count (260-day count) it is not Mayan at all. To begin with the ancient Maya followed a moon cycle alternating between 29 and 30 days, as did many other peoples, creating a mean of 29.5 days. This is consistent with the female cycle. Yet, many women have, partly because of the perturbations of their cycles due to the artificial lights and artificial hormones present everywhere in the modern world, come to believe that a “normal” period is 28 days. This idea is really a construct of patriarchal medicine that for ages has been frightened by what it has perceived as a magical link between the woman and the full moon cycle of about 29.5 days. Still today many women, as well as also many men, have special feelings linked to their hormones on days of full moon. The Thirteen Moon calendar thus ignores the female natural cycle and seeks to replace it with a mathematical construct of 28 days, that does not correspond to any natural cycle.

In this Thirteen Moon Calendar the day July 26 has been chosen as a “New Year’s day” and you sometimes hear it being called “the Mayan New Year”. In reality this fixed first day of the so-called Thirteen Moon calendar reflects the very opposite of the Mayan Calendar system. Fixing it on this date was really what sealed the end of the traditional Mayan calendar in the Yucatan. In ancient times, and among the living Quiché-Maya still, the Mayan calendar had no fixed “New Year’s date” that could now be directly translated into a Gregorian such. This distinction of the traditional Mayan calendar of not having a fixed new year’s date is of very great importance today. It means that unlike most other calendars of the world the prophetic Mayan calendar is not subordinated to mechanical time or astronomical cycles. The Thirteen Moon calendar, in contrast is based on the physical year.

What then is the origin of the date July 26? Certainly not the heliacal rising of the Dog Star as is sometimes claimed, since this happened on July 13 and 14 in ancient days in the Yucatan. Instead it is to be found in a 365 day long calendar cycle called the haab by the Maya. The haab was a quarter of a day short of the length of the solar year the beginning of this haab cycle would shift over time over the solar year. Thus, the notion of a fixed new year was completely alien to the Maya, until in AD 1541 the Yucatan was conquered by the Spanish. At that point the beginning of the haab fell on the Gregorian date July 26. During the forced conversion of the Maya to Christianity that followed the Maya were then forced to give up their traditional calendars whose spiritual energies were regarded as idolatry by the Spanish Bishops that came to burn practically all of their books. As part of this adaptation to Christianity and its ecclesiastical year with celebrations of saints and Christmas, etc the Maya had to freeze the previously moving beginning day of the haab cycle at the date it had at the time of the Spanish conquest. This freezing meant the effective end to the Mayan calendar system in the Yucatan and its conversion to a system of mechanical astronomical time. The date July 26 (that is recorded in books written by the Maya after the Conquest, and from Bishop Landa who instigated the burning of the Mayan calendars) thus symbolizes the very end to the original Mayan calendar system in the Yucatan. In my view this is more of a reason for mourning than for celebration.

Yet, among the Maya in present day Guatemala significant aspects of the ancient calendar system, such as the haab and the tzolkin (Cholquij) went underground and has thus survived until the present time in its highlands. It can be verified from archeological artifacts that the Sacred Calendar has been kept unaltered by the daykeepers of the Quiché-Maya since antiquity. My own view is that this particular true tzolkin count is a gift to the future of humanity if we can only make the right use of it. Today, increasing number of people are starting to use this Sacred Calendar and experience the energies of time that it describes. In the Mayan view the Sacred Calendar of 260 days is the most important of the calendars, the very hub around which all other calendars revolve. Hence, while other aspects of the Mayan calendar system may have changed over time the Sacred Calendar is considered as holy and should not be tampered with. It was always kept unaltered for the time that generations of the future when people would need it and this time according to many is now.

This raises the question why the Argüelles invented a new Sacred Calendar (260 day) count, the Dreamspell calendar, in the early nineties especially considering that the Maya had been using the true Sacred Calendar for thousands of years. Is there a hidden agenda behind this? The question is all the more relevant as the actual function of this invention has been to replace and deny the existence of the true tzolkin count. The reasons for this replacement has always been a very well kept secret and it seems that people in the Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon Movement have rarely, if ever, undertaken to explore it. Lloydine Argüelles, co-inventor of the Dreamspell calendar however gives us some hints as to why the Dreamspell was developed to replace the Sacred Mayan calendar as she wrote in Crystal Skywalker Day Report in 1997: All of the knowledge in the Dreamspell is unalterable knowledge. ….If we think to ourselves, ”I can agree with 98 % of the new knowledge, but the other knowledge I can’t accept,” then we must consider how ego can enter and cause distortion of knowledge. “You must understand the promise to be 100 % faithful to the new knowledge. Nothing that Valum Votan (José Argüelles, my clarification) presents is not in accord with the divine plan.

These statements reveal a mentality similar to autocratic rule as well as a desire to keep the followers in the fold. Not surprisingly then it seems that Lloydine Argüelles played a crucial role in deciding how their particular tzolkin count would be anchored in time. In the Thirteen Moon movement Lloydine Argüelles was often identified as Bolon Ik, 9 Wind, which in the ancient Mesoamerican tradition was an energy associated with the light deity of Quetzalcoatl, the Plumed Serpent. Thus, her particular birthday (May 15, 1943) was given the energy 9 Wind (kin 22) in the Dreamspell count. This was an anchoring point for the tzolkin count that was chosen by the Argüelles’ and the consequence was that its followers came to identify her with this deity of light. Along the same line, provided that the leap day was removed, Jose Argüelles birthday (Jan 24, 1939) became 11 Monkey (kin 11) and in this arrangement not only did he become the Monkey, the weaver, the central day-sign that everything revolves around, but the two of them also got the master numbers 11 and 22 for their dates of birth. In an apparent slip of the tongue Jose Argüelles talks about kin 11 as “the one designated as Valum Votan”. Obviously, the more people that follow their calendar the more these identities have been reinforced. Thus, those that are followers of this particular tzolkin count will give the founders central roles and synchronize their lives around these.

It is common among followers of the Dreamspell calendar to say that this “works” or that it provides an entry point to the “synchronous order”. Given the above the relevant questions to ask are however “Works for what?” and “Whose synchronic order”? It seems obvious that with the particular set-up of this calendar it works very well as an entry point to the synchronic order of its inventors as well as with a number of other people that likewise have been attracted to their energies. The problem is however that those looking for an entry point to the synchronic order of the divine time plan are drawn away from this and into something entirely different, namely the energies of two human beings and their personal agendas of being in central positions of leadership etc. We thus have reasons to suspect that this set-up would give these founders a considerable power, especially, since its followers have not been made aware of what they are synchronizing their lives with.

There is a hidden agenda in operation here, and I question whether it is ethical to keep the origin of this Dreamspell count secret, especially since the price is so high in people being kept in the dark about the true Mayan Calendar system. The true Mayan calendar is not in this way subordinated to the energies or agendas of any human individuals, living or dead. Instead, the uninterrupted traditional tzolkin count is a direct reflection of the divine process of creation, which the world now sorely needs to know about. Unfortunately, the Dreamspell calendar survives not because it would have any advantage whatsoever compared to the true Mayan calendar, but because of the conservatism of those that have been teaching and practicing it for years. Today, despite overwhelming evidence that this is not an egalitarian (or feminine) calendar, it is being kept in existence by sheer inertia and the relatively high number of people that was drawn into it under false pretenses.

I feel in the name of integrity those teaching about the Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon calendar should now start to tell the truth about this calendar. Part of this truth is that the Mayan elders do not wish it to be confused with the Mayan calendar and that it is a calendar that has never been used by the Maya. In the words of the Mayan elders: “The confusion must cease” and this in the interest of the many. Dreamspell teachers should also clearly explain to people about the origin of the Dreamspell count and why it was invented to replace the true Mayan calendar. This should be done to give people the chance of making an informed choice. The cost of continued confusion caused by the false pretensions of the Dreamspell is enormous. This calendar system blocks the path of humanity to the treasure of the true Mayan Calendar system, which will play a decisive role of guiding humanity towards freedom and enlightenment.

centered on the midpoint of the Fifth day of the Galactic Underworld.

That movements like the Club of Budapest, TM and the diksha movement

are collaborating to manifest peace on these days based on a common intention

and passion means that the Breakthrough Celebration has reached a new level.

Different movements are participating on their own terms and with their own

unique contributions to these manifestations. This means that unlike most

peace meditations that has been held so far this one is not based on a single

movement, practice or idea, but on a common multifaceted passion for peace.

Obviously for those that do not belong to any of these movements there are also

opportunities to create a participation locally with likeminded people.

This for instance will happen around the old town of Jerusalem where songs will

be sung in the languages of the world.

You sometimes get the impression that participating in a global meditation of peace

is something that you “should” do. In this case with the particular set-up of these upcoming

peace meditations I would rather look upon it as a privilege to be able to participate.

The fact that possible effects will be measured by the Global Consciousness Project

adds to the excitement although I feel personally that participation is an end in itself.

I encourage people everywhere who want to manifest peace to create events and the opportunities for others

to participate in this. I would also like to encourage people who belong to a movement

that seeks to manifest peace on this planet to encourage them to participate on their

own terms but in concert with the intentions of the other movements. I also encourage

everyone to make these events and their multifaceted nature known as broadly as possible.

As we are in the days of initiation with the fifth Day’s energy at the Galactic Underworld, I want to share an interpretation with you which I reached by using the Mayan Calendar. On the way of this comment my starting point is a question like: “ Is Messiah coming back as one person or a group of human beings who carry the energy of Messiah? According to the Mayan Calendar it is just the time to ask this question. Fifth Day’s energy has a connection with the Messiah in two ways. Firstly because its ruling god Quetzalcoatl (God of Light) is equvailent to Messiah which was described as in the Mayan beliefs. Also again the Messiah energy is spread over the world during the Fifth Day period of the previous layers of cosmic time-consciousness pyramid.

According to the Maya, the Light God Quetzalcoatl rules the Fifth Day which is the most luminous in the total seven Days of Genesis. Also according to Mayan myths, returning of Quetzalcoatl will bring enlightenment. That’s why Mayans wait for his return just as Christians wait for Jesus Messiah. The spreading of Jesus’ light happens through the period when Quetzalcoatl’s energy governs the human consciousness: Fifth Day of the National Underworld (40 – 434).

According to holographic structure of the Mayan calendar, Fifth Day repeats for 3 times after this. At Planetary Underworld (1913 – 1932), Galactic Underworld (24 November 2006 – 19 November 2007) and at the Universal Underworld (21 July – 10 August 2011). In my opinion, the Messiah consciousness appears with Fifth Day at every time. But this appearance actualizes in a different form at each time and shared with increasing numbers of people at each upper level of the pyramid. At the top layer in the Universal Underworld it will be shared with whole humanity. This means the ultimate return of the Messiah and enlightenment of the Human Race and the Gaia.

Before explaining this subject with all the details, I need to give an explanation about the holographic structure of the Mayan calendar.

The Holographic Universe structure which is equivalent with holographic Mayan calendar structure

Mayan shamans identified the Universal/Divine Genesis plan patterns by the intuitive knowledge they recieved during trans states. Basing on this Mayans say Genesis happens in 9 levels/periods. These 9 Genesis levels/periods built up like a laminated pyramid. (This is because why the Mayan pyramids are of 9 layers.)

These 9 levels have a very important aspect. In fact these are the processes which are holographic copies of each other. Repeating patterns from microcosmos to macrocosmos. It is hard to understand this kind of evolution/time mentality with using traditional time perception systems. For example Classical Astrology is unaware of holographic structure of the universe and it has a local and linear time understanding. It is a system that includes the Solar system and stand only for observable data and limited with 3 dimensional universe perception.

Mayan understanding of the Universe as “9 Underworlds and 13 Heavens” is an understanding that embraces today’s Western scientific explanations about fractal universes or the holographic universe structure, including multi-dimensionality.

By looking at the Mayan Calendar we can understand that holographic structure of the universe that is interdependent with the evolutionary process of consciousness follows this holographic structure.

So what is the pursued way to reach this information?

Let’s look how the Mayan calendar researcher John Major Jenkins explained Mayan experiences in his book of “Mayan Cosmology” (pp 326 -328) :

“Long Count Cosmology... can be described as “psychedelic” or “multi-dimensional”, limits of “nature” is also limits of human mind. New World’s shaman astronomers’ visionary journeys, that they searched for knowledge, provided the deeper data for their cosmology … In Mayan thought… ‘there is a close connection between astronomic observation, cosmologic fictions and trans states penetrating with taking drugs. American Indian cosmologists were coping with introversion, turning inside to get information, and watch “multi-layered dimensions of human mind”. By doing this they were meeting with insights in primary principles of life, time, and spiritual development.... This world belief includes a bigger cosmos coordination that has a reflection in human microcosmos… Mezoamerican cosmology was derived from reaching human mind and spirit’s multi-dimensional capacity, multi-dimensional nature of reality…In Western science, closest opinion to Maya cosmology is the quantum physics with its Black Hole, wormholes, quasars and other various space-time abnormalities...These concepts are common in Mayan genesis ideas... Mayas, not only know about quantum abnormalities but at the same time reveal them and achieve to go around inside them by magical ways. They could look deeply to the Cosmic Center, and the Black Hole in our Galaxy Center, what the modern physic does, potentially was a child’s play for them.”

This multi-dimensionality of human mind and spirit in fact lead us to the perception Human-World-Universe unity. Thereby evolution of Human-World-Universe also occurs in a holographic structure. Here evolution again follows the 9 Underworlds and 13 Heavens model. For a deeper and exact understanding of the Mayan Calendar, evolutionary processes and the genesis plan I recommend Carl J. Calleman ’s book “The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness”. Also I heard many times that the knowledge I gave in my seminars make things more understandable which are expressed in the book and played a complementary role. Comments and expressions in this article was written supposing that reader has a general perception about the hypothesis stated in Calleman’s book.

Quetzalcoatl who manages the Fifth Day and Messiah Consciousness

The frequent relationship that Calleman established in his books and seminars is between the Light God Quetzalcoatl who manages fifth Day and the Messiah consciousness. Now we can look again relationship between Messiah and Quetzalcoatl by looking the 9 Underworld and for its each Underworld repeating 13 Heaven model, which is called as Calleman Matrix. Another meaning of 13 Underworld is 7 days and 6 nights and as you know for most regional/spiritual resources it is said that genesis continues for 7 days and 6 nights. According to Mayan Calendar this 7 days and 6 nights repeat in each pyramid ladder. Other than the Underworlds, we know that each heaven as namely each day or night is “ruled” by a certain god or goddess. A modern interpretation can be like this : a certain type of spiritual energy takes these time segments under its effect.

Now we’re living Fifth Day in Galactic Underworld which started in the year of 1999.

(24^th November 2006 – 19^th November 2007). Thereby Light God of Quetzalcoatl’s energy directs our inner evolution which is taken as equivalent with Messiah consciousness in the Cosmic/Divine Genesis plan. With another expression we can say Fifth Day is the most luminous in the total seven days. As being the oneness consciousness passengers how does the Messiah consciousness appear in these times of spiritual evolutionary winds? Before coming to it let’s look how the Fifth Day and Messiah consciousness appears in the pyramid’s previous layers?

Consciousness layer which Calleman described as National Underworld is the 6^th floor in the 9 layer cosmic pyramid and had started on B.C. 3115. For this consciousness layer Fifth Day corresponds with between the years of 40 – 434 A.D. Jesus Messiah was borned in year 0, but when did his message started to spread? As you know Jesus didn’t declared his prophecy until the age of 30s. Approximately A.D. 40 is the known date that Saint Paul started to spread the message of Jesus. And this shows that spreading of Messiah light is in the period of Fifth Day which Quetzalcoatl ruled. Also it is interesting that Paul from Tarsus who made 4 journeys as missionary and mostly traveled along Anatolian land. This a very important point that we will look again.

Fifth Day in Planetary Underworld and Republic of Turkey

The beginning date of Planetary Underworld which is the 7^th layer of pyramid is the year of 1755 and its Fifth Day was between the years of 1913 and 1932. So at that period did Jesus Messiah come back? According to the Mayan Calendar, a god ruling one day or night, return back to power, when their time comes at each layer of the pyramid. If it is like that, did Jesus the Messiah, whose return was expected, come back in the Fifth Day between 1913-1932? I do not know what will be your answer but Jehovah’s witnesses said that Messiah would come back in 1914. An internet site is making an explanation about Jehovah’s witnesses in this way:

“Jehovah witnesses is a religional messianic act. They believe that second coming of Jesus happened in 1914 and he started the “God Royalty” in heaven. According to Jehovah witnesses; the alive generation in 1914 will see Jesus’ coming to earth and beside his 144.000 Jehovah witnesses and will dispose whole political institutions, states, nations, as shortly " Powers of Evil". By this way “God Royalty” will be established. This will be provided by the Armageddon War.” [1]

Isn’t it an interesting coincidence? In Arabic, coincidence means to find without searching for. For those who understand codes of the Mayan Calendar it is also a situation to find without searching. So Jesus came back in 1914? And what is the Armageddon (doomsday) War intending? Is it First World War? In my opinion Jesus Messiah came in a different way rather than Jehovah’s witnesses waited. And the Doomsday War was not the First World War.

On the Fifth Day of the Planetary Underworld (1913 – 1932), which historical personality was acting as if receiving a divine guidance? Who was fighting for freedom, independency, and welfare as if disposing Evil Powers, together with millions of faithful people though actualizing a miracle? Do you know that Doom has the meanings of to stand up or uniting? Do you know any war happened exactly in that time those masses stand for in the large scale of unity and oneness feelings?

I’m talking about the Liberation War and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Calleman said that between the years of 1913 – 1932 there was a breakthrough in democracy, this displays itself in the downfalls of Austria-Hungarian Empire, Russia Czardom and the Ottoman Empire and establishment of democratic states. And yes, things happened in Russia rather was a strong movement and maybe Lenin got some of the Messiah energy. Nevertheless, I think that Atatürk represents more of the Messiah consciousness starting with the principle “Peace at Home peace in the World” and his establishment of Republic of Turkey and his peaceful relationships with exterior countries, and tolerance for diversities inside the country.

Especially when we observe the establishment date we obtain a data that supports my opinion.

At this point, it is the time to talk about an important criteria when using the Mayan Calendar: “midpoints”. Each Underworld or Heaven’s midpoint is known as kind of a milestone and is an important act in the perspective of evolution of consciousness. At the days this is the point when energy of day reaches the top and the day fully appears its energy. When calculating midpoint of Planetary Underworld Fifth Day (5^th April 1913 – 21^st December 1932) we found 12^th February 1923. This shows that the establishment date of Republic of Turkey (29 October 1923) is so close to the midpoint of Fifth Day and therefore shows how it is congruent with the appearance Messiah consciousness.

What meaning can we deduct in the perspective of Turkey and the Galactic Underworld’s Fifth Day in which we are living through? Fifth Day at the Galactic Underworld started on 24^th November of 2006. Well, before this date were you following up the news? On 21^st November, a Turkish company called Erke declared that they discovered a “never lasting” energy producing method.[2] In the side of energy technology this news has a revolutionary characteristic but rest of it didn’t appear and the company was criticized about not to explain the method. While on the date of 15^th December, a technology that was invented by Vestel was in newspapers: non-fuel battery. This was explained as an unobtainable level of technology in the world market.[3] For what all these technologies occur in Turkey in such a time? Can these enterprises based on that, the spiritual energy is coming back from in the establishment period of Republic of Turkey? (Fifth Day)

Well, what is going on when we are approaching midpoint of the Fifth Day of the Galactic Underworld which is on 22^ndMay 2007? What does it mean that the Presidency elections which will be hold on May 2007 that is so near to midpoint? The president who will be selected and maybe with the TBMM (Turkish Government) elections and from the outcomes of this election process can be a rebirth for Republic of Turkey? According to the Mayan Calendar it seems so. Just as for a person’s coming back of the active energy while in birth, for a country it means congruency with life mission and alignment. When we look from a Global perpective, I think that, the mission of Turkey is related with the strengthening power of Eastern hemisphere by Galactic Underworld and the super clean energy technology breakthrough, that would heal human being’s relation with the World. I believe the Pope’s visit to Turkey, right at the start of the Fifth Day (November 22-26) is also related with this mission.

If we think that Messiah consciousness is related with spreading of it in Anatolia by Paul from Tarsus at National Layer and establishing of Republic of Turkey in the midpoint at the Planetary layer, it is very logical to think that for a global enlightenment, an important role would be waken up in Anatolia.

Do you know how many people who have a sense that, Atatürk acts with a divine guidance? At least I know dear Meriç Tümlüer, who searches for Atatürk’s secret devise, is thinking about like this. Mr. Tümlüer took over this mission of revealing Atatürk’s secret devise, from his own father. The devise which was told by Atatürk to be declared after 50 years of his death was delayed for 25 years by the government in 1988. Meriç Tümlüer expresses that Atatürk carries a divine mission, so Mr. Meriç continues to his studies about declaration of this devise as soon as possible. Recently one of his expression is like this: “Shortly there will be very big spiritual earthquakes.” You can make further search about this subject from www.ataturkungizlivasiyeti.com .

Moreover let’s look at what Atatürk said in 1933, that is the end of Fifth Day:

“For us, time measure isn’t according to previous age’s relaxed mentality, it should be thought as our age’s speed and movement concept. In proportion to past times we will work harder. We will achieve greater works in shorter time”

Atatürk in his 10^th Year’s Speech, as if explaning the accelerating tempo of evolution and he points the direct relationship between time and consciousness. In my opinion the period which we are in requires an urgent perception of this speech. When the wind of Divine Genesis Plan is blowing from our back it is the time to achieve great works in shorter times.

This time –consciousness relationship that Atatürk expressed, is congruent with Maya’s World belief. Also other perception closer to Maya’s time perception was uncovered with another genius: Albert Einstein.

Einstein and other ambassadors of Messiah Consciousness

On the year 1912, shortly before Planetary Fifth Day started Albert Einstein asserted that, time is the fourth dimension. It is an expression that I use to understand and describe Mayan Calendar. According to Mayans there’s a direct relationship between time and space. And these are stated with the same word: Najt. Einstein and his physics theory is congruent with Mayan Calendar understanding. As Jenkins expressed Quantum Physics is the closest thought to Mayan Cosmology. Einstein started to develop his theory of relativity that constitute roots of Quantum Physics in 1912.

Why this theory which was a breakthrough point in science history and scientific thinking evolution was developed during the Fifth Day? Why the universal time-space structure which is shown by Mayan Calendar lead history of science during the Fifth Day? Could this have any connection with the mythology that says that Light God Quetzalcoatl who rules the Fifth Day has created the Mayan Calendar? Deeper and intuitive perception belonging to Time and Universe appeared in this period, what meaning may this have? Well, what kind of a man is Einstein who brought a leap to Western science? When you listen to his words attentively you hear a wisdom that you may hear from an eastern mystic.

"A science without religion is cripple; a religious without science is blind. "

"I never think about the future. It comes early enough."

"I am convinced that God doesn’t play dice ."

"Truly the most important thing is intuition."

Do you think one of the Messiah ambassadors could be Einstein? If Messiah’s energy came back with Quetzalcoatl and also Jehova witnesses has the intuitional prediction in this way but if Jesus didn’t come as one person, could this mean that the Messiah energy came back through more than one person? Atatürk and Einstein... If you aren’t convinced I will show more examples which are very important.

Sri Aurobindo and New Age

After a short time Fifth Day began at the Planetary Underworld on year 1913 , a new light started to spread to human being’s collective consciousness. This date is the time that the Indian yogi, mystic, philosopher and poem Sri Aurobindo started to transfer his first visions which are about a new dawn that the Humanity is waiting for.

Sri Aurobindo was sent to England at early age by his father, his childhood times passed as a brilliant student by learning Western culture. After graduating from Cambridge University, he returned back to his country and started to work for the independency of India. Because of these studies he was arrested and while in prison he was enlightened. After going out of prison, he dedicated himself to the Divine consciousness’ realization of itself on earth and therefore unity of Humankind. After the years of researching the roots of the Indian culture and concentrating on yoga, in 1913 he got off his seclusion, and he started to write and publish these writings.

In some of his articles he talkes about an inevitabile synthesis of western and eastern cultures, hence resolution of the crisis that humanity is facing. He also writes that yoga has a missing aspect and it also needs a synthesis. These synthesizes are needed in the way of realizing the oneness consciousness substituting the separation in human collective consciousness.

Sri Aurobindo is talking about a new adventure that will carry human evolution to a upper level rather than repeating the spiritual and philosophical things which had done before: Adventure of Consciousness. According to him at the end of this adventure humanity will be enlightened and in the following evolution a new species will arise. Superman who is carrying the Divine consciousness perfectly. He expresses that for now it is being realized with the descending Divine consciousness, which is described as Supermental. In his book of “Savitri” he mentions about dawn of New Age which he sees in his visions.[4]

Purpose of yoga should be compatible with this New Age, and not enlightenment of each person particularly, to work for enlightenment of the whole human race. According to Sri Aurobindo enlightenment period which had done by seclusion, getting rid of material world and rising to Divine consciousness does no longer exist. Now Divine consciousness descends to the world and transforms it. For the last period of his life Sri Aurobindo dedicated himself to “Integral Yoga” and studied for transformation in cellular dimension. His companion Mother (Mira Alfassa) who is also enlightened, with the purpose of realizing Sri Aurobindo’s vision, she set up a city called Auroville.

Actually there are so many things to say about Sri Aurobindo and his vision. He is the first mystic who talked about a New Age bringing it both to East and West. He expressed that in the New Age’s World there will be a transnational unity instead of nations. Sri Aurobindo created a revolution in the Indian Yoga tradition. Today millions of people share his vision and try to digest the light he is spreading.

Let’s look now how Sri Aurobindo’s life proceed during the Mayan Calendar Planetary Underworld:

(1873) Beginning of 4th Day- Born of Sri Aurobindo (1872)

(1893) Beginning of 4th Night – Return to India (1893)

(1903) Midpoint of 4th Night – Began his yoga (1904)

(1913) Beginning of 5th Day – Started to write his first articles. (1913), establishment of ashram (1926).

Well, why the New Age vision that came together with Sri Aurobindo started to fall to human consciousness with the Fifth Day? While he started to write in 1913, Einstein had been developing theory of relativity and Atatürk was going towards to his big mission with little wins.

Do you see the connection between the vision of Sri Aurobindo and Atatürk’s mission? Is it possible that Atatürk who said “Peace at home, peace in the world” has a closer vision to Sri Aurobindo? Could Atatürk’s undeclared secret devise include an expression of transnational unity vision?

At the Fifth Day of Planetary Underworld was Messiah consciousness coming over these people: Atatürk, Sri Aurobindo and Einstein? Did the energy of Quetzalcoatl helped any awareness to be waken up to the Mayan Calendar’s knowledge by then? With Einstein, time being the fourth dimension and the time-space relationship. With Sri Aurobindo, evolution of consciousness and coming of New Age. Well, what is the relationship between Atatürk and the Mayan Calendar?

Tahsin Mayatepek, Secret Devise of Atatürk and Enlightenment in Anatolia

About this subject I should touch on Atatürk’s research over the Mayan language and culture. Atatürk assigned one of his colonel named Tahsin Mayatepek to Mexico as a counsolute. During the years he spent in Mexico, Colonel Tahsin recognized that the Mayan language and culture, had similarities between the Turkish language and culture. Hence, we know that Mayatepek read the books of James Churchward, who is an American researcher whom in his books asserted of Mu continent as being the common ancestor of Mayan and Turkish civilization. Mayatepek sent this research to Atatürk as reports. His surname Mayatepek is in Mayan language and means “the Mayan hill” ( In Turkish hill means “tepe”, while it is “tepek” in Mayan). Books of Churchward were translated to Turkish by Atatürk’s will. These can be found in archives and researches of Sinan Meydan are a great guide about this subject.[5][6]

At this point there is an unavoidable question coming to my mind: Did Atatürk acquire any vision or information about the end date of the Mayan Calendar while through the channel that flowing towards him? According to Meriç Tümlüer because Atatürk has a divine mission so it is highly possible that he was receiving such an inspiration. So the things that Atatürk wrote in his secret devise could be related with Mayan Calendar and its end date? Delaying the declaration of secret devise for 25 years, shows the year of 2013 in the Gregorian Calendar. How a coincidence may it be that is so close to the Mayan Calendar’s end date?

Another question is: When we are approaching to last date of Mayan Calendar and taking a step to collective enlightenment of the humanity, what is the role of Anatolia? Working round the same subject, isn’t it? I want to introduce you another interesting person. This is New Age mystic Sri Aurobindo’s spiritual companion, “Mother” - Mira Alfassa. After a short time of dedicating herself to yoga, Anne was enlightened, and start contributing to Sri Aurobindo’s works. Mother, whose mother is Egyptian, was born in Paris. Well, her father? He is Turkish. Because of this if you say that you are Turkish in the utopian city of Auroville where Mother has founded, you will meet with a special care. Well, how a connection is that and what a connection has this about the spiritual mission of Anatolia?

I know that it is not so easy to find answers to these questions and to prove them. But the picture, which displays itself from all the things that I wrote, has a tendency to give an answer to my question that I asked at the beginning. Is the Messiah consciousness coming as a sole person during each Fifth Day or a group of people carrying this consciousness? Apparently the consciousness came with Messiah Jesus at National Underworld and at Planetary Underworld came with a few people qualified as genius or sage.

Pilates

We can add Joseph Pilates to these people who is a body mind genius. Also with his development of physical exercises, he marked an era in human health. During the First World War (1914 – 1918), being a captive in a prison camp, he exploited in saving the general health of the camp. In 1926, he opened a studio in New York and with this he started to spread Pilates technique to all world. It was expressed by scientists that, Pilates technique improves spinal posture for the better and it has a very important role in the human evolution.

Again is this a chance the leap of evolution in consciousness happened by coincidence in Fifth Day? Actually the vision that Pilates developed, is compatible with Sri Aurobindo’s vision. So ever they don’t know each other.

This common vision is that the physical body cannot be left aside in human development, contrarily to transform and heal it to provide a possibility to Divine Human appearance.

Messiah Consciousness at the Galactic Underworld

What do we see under the light of these? What I see is, the Messiah consciousness that is coming with Jesus at National Underworld, comes in the upper layer at Planetary Underworld with more than one person. Therefore prediction of Jehova witnesses is right in a way. Well, how does the Messiah consciousness appear between the dates 24^th November 2006 – 19^th November 2007 of Fifth Day at Galactic Underworld? If we see that Human family is enlightened at the picture of end date of Mayan Calendar, if the Divine Human is there that Sri Aurobindo talkes about, then as we rise up through the layers we can see it logically that Messiah consciousness will appear over more and more people.

Messiah is coming firstly from one and then a few, and now over lots of people. My feelings say that the whole people who read and understand this article carry the Messiah consciousness. I feel that in our unity, light of Messiah is shining. As being the partners who create the New World in every step, in every intention I feel this force my friends.

I know that we are the sun-eyed children of a wonderful dawn…

Celebrate the beginning of the Fifth day: November 24, 2006

We are currently approaching the beginning of the Fifth day of the Galactic Underworld, November 24, 2006 and most people have experienced how things have heated up since the midpoint of the current night, May 27, 2006. In fact, the evolution of consciousness is fundamentally driven by the Light of future Heavens and Underworlds and so we are already now being influenced by it both in the form of world events and personal experiences.

In each of the Underworlds the Fifth day is the era of the breakthrough of the phenomena of that particular Underworld and from this we may have certain expectations of what is to come. The overall purpose of the current Galactic Underworld is to bring a balance between East and West as well as between the left rational and the right intuitive brain hemispheres. In short, as it will mean a significant downfall of western dominance in the world it will allow for the coming together of the cultures of the East and the West. Very likely, it will generate a downfall of the American dollar and ensuing altered economic relationships in the world.

It also seems as if the days are the periods that bring the most earth changes and natural catastrophes and this will very likely also mark the coming day, November 24, 2006 – November 19, 2007. It simply seems as if when human beings are regaining their inner wholeness their control of the external world as a consequence is lost and the Fifth day is exactly such a period, which will create the conditions for such inner unity and wholeness. Part of the development of this inner wholeness will come from a major step forward in the development of our intuition which essentially is mediated by the right brain half that is now about to be strengthened. In fact, without the development of this intuition we will not be able to use the increasingly shorter windows of opportunity that in different ways will be presented to us.

What there is to do is to fully accept and embrace the very significant energy shift that is now brought by the beginning of the Fifth day and I recommend people everywhere to celebrate on November 23-24 the arrival of the energy of Quetzalcoatl as part of the Breakthrough Celebration (www.breakthroughcelebration.com). The Fifth day energy of the Galactic Underworld means that its manifestations will truly break through into the world and after this it will become apparent to everyone that we will never again return to the stable materialist mind set of the lower Planetary Underworld. We must welcome the shift that is now taking place in the global energy field and the opportunity it gives us to create balance between East and West, rationality and intuition and man and woman. For most people the Breakthrough Energy of the Fifth day will be the most powerful transformative energy that they experienced as part of the divine plan. What is so special about the Mayan Calendar?

The person with no previous exposure to the Mayan Calendar will usually initially be surprised by the fact that some people today take such an interest in an ancient calendar. After all, human history has seen a high number of different calendars. Is not then the Mayan calendar just a very specialized subject of interest only to specialists or history buffs? “Why would the world today need another calendar than the Gregorian or Muslim that are currently in use, and why should this be the Mayan calendar?” some may ask.

Well, to begin with most people probably have a much too limited view of the importance of the Mayan civilization, and Native American traditions generally. In fact, at their height in the 5th to 9th centuries AD, the Mayan cities would be among the largest in the world and developed the most advanced mathematics and astronomy of their day. And so, even if the Native American civilizations hardly survived the later contact with the Europeans they were and are the carriers of a significant and irreplaceable part of the global human consciousness.

When we talk about the Mayan Calendar something profoundly different is also meant than just a system to mark off the passage of time. The Mayan Calendar is above all a prophetic calendar that may help us understand the past and foresee the future. It is a calendar of the Ages that describes how the progression of Heavens and Underworlds condition the human consciousness and thus the frames for our thoughts and actions within a given Age. The Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. There is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age old questions of mankind. Things do exist for a reason. The reason is that they fit into the divine cosmic plan. For those that seriously engage in a study of the Mayan Calendar this soon becomes evident and the former materialist world view loses all relevance. The Mayan Calendar is a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been blinded to through the use of false or delusory calendars.

Since everything that exists is an aspect of consciousness, and the Mayan Calendar describes the evolution of consciousness in all of its aspects, no stone is left unturned for the serious student of the Mayan Calendar. All of science is affected, all of religion is affected, all of life is affected. We are here for a reason. Time is no longer equated with money, but with spirit. Time is inspiration!

The Mayan Tzolkin Count or the Dreamspell ?

The Interest in the Mayan Calendar is Increasing Worldwide

During the past decade interest in the Calendars of the Maya has dramatically increased world-wide. Ultimately, this increasing interest is derived from the fact that a new consciousness of time is now emerging. A New Age gives rise to a new consciousness of time which in turn requires a new calendar for this to be expressed. This new consciousness of time is today commonly experienced either as if time is accelerating, or that it simply disappears. Maybe, in fact, the idea that time is a quantity is on its way out. "Why is this?" we may ask. Is it merely an illusion of ours that time is running faster or has our highly developed technological society developed so effective means of tele communications that everything is speeding up to a point where things almost become unbearable?

Another possibility is that the speed-up of time is real and caused by factors entirely outside of human control. Factors which in accordance with the divine plan proceed from a galactic level of creation and actually cause the emergence of a new age - a new age of time. There have been rumours that the year 1999 will mean a "time shift" and Edgar Cayce had predicted a "pole shift" "in the winter of 1998." Maybe then a polarity shift between Yin and Yang on a galactic scale will lead to the final breakthrough to a new consciousness of time.

Is Time an illusion?

As many spiritually evolved people have realized time is ultimately an illusion, but since it happens to be the very illusion that maintains our lives, it may be worth the effort to probe deeper into its mystery. As a tool to do so the calendar of the Maya has again come into use. Western astrology, which in principle is based on the study of endless repetitions of the cyclical movements of the celestial bodies with fixed periods of revolutions (fixed frequencies), could never logically explain the increased frequency of time. To understand the frequency increase we need to accept a concept of time which is independent of the movement of material bodies. We need to accept the concept of time of the Maya.

Anyone who takes an interest in the ancient culture of the Maya will soon realize that this people had an understanding of time which was vastly different from our own, and many have come to use it for their own spiritual evolution. But what then is the Mayan calendar?

It turns out this is not as unambiguous as one might think. The so called day keepers in Guatemala and Mexico use some twenty different calendars in parallel and over the ages these have undergone significant change. For instance, no inscriptions of the chronology of the ancient Maya, the so called Long Count starting on August 11, 3114 BC and ending on December 21, 2012, have been found that were made after the tenth century AD. Thus, we have reasons to suspect that also the consciousness of time of the Maya has undergone some significant change since the Classical culture reigned between AD 200 - 800. What this all means is that there hardly exists such a thing as a Mayan calendar cut in stone for us simply to assimilate without deeper thoughts or insights about the nature of the divine plan.

Dreamspell is a "New Age" - invented system

Regarding calendars used on a daily basis it was calendar - inspired by the Maya - launched by José Argüelles in 1990 that went by the name of Dreamspell that first came to be used in the modern world. José and his wife Lloydine asserted that the planet was threatened by an environmental catastrophe because of our use of the Gregorian calendar and as an alternative they suggested a calendar based on 13 Moons each of 28 days plus an extra day, July 25th, outside of time (13 x 28 + 1 = 365).

In their system the leap day every fourth solar year was simply ignored, apparently to keep the ideal of 13 x 28 intact. These Thirteen Moons were then linked to a special tzolkin count (260 different combinations of thirteen numbers and twenty different glyphs) in which each individual could find out what was his or her "Galactic Signature." The idea underlying the Dreamspell seems to have been that if human beings lived in phase with the natural cycles, in this case probably primarily the female cycle of about 28 days, we would treat the earth better and thus avoid an impending catastrophe. This idea may have attracted some, but certainly many more were attracted by the idea that the particular day they were born had an inherent energy described by their Galactic Signature, that is, tzolkin day. This latter idea certainly had support from the notions of the Maya, in principle.

There was however a problem with the Dreamspell, namely that the Maya had never used the particular tzolkin count that it was linked to. Many of the followers of Dreamspell, mostly for lack of knowledge, simply presented Dreamspell as The Mayan Calendar. In practice the result of this was that many individuals have been deluded into thinking that the Galactic Signature they had been assigned also was the one that the Maya would have used. As this was discovered something called The True Count Debate raged on the Internet in 1995 where especially John Major Jenkins energetically asserted that Argüelles count was false, and that it had never been used by the Mayan people themselves. In addition, there still existed a tzolkin count, the Classical, which was used over the entire Mesoamerican region in Classical times and had survived until today in the Highlands of Guatemala and elsewhere among the Mayan day keepers.

Jenkins stated, and I think rightly so, that Argüelles' followers had no right to present the Dreamspell count as the Calendar of the Maya and that it was a kind of Cultural imperialism to ignore the "surviving" Sacred Calendar that was still in use among the Maya.

Argüelles response to this criticism seems to have passed through two different phases. His initial response was to say that he had received his calendar by divine revelation. Since he saw himself as an incarnation of Pacal Votan, a Mayan king who ruled in Palenque in the seventh century AD, everything he did was in accordance with the divine plan. To my knowledge he never responded in a direct way to the issues raised. It seems however that the attitude of the Argüelles' changed in 1998 and José became more open to the criticism. Following a meeting with Quiché elder Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj at Spring Equinox 1998 he declared that the Dreamspell and the Classical Maya tzolkin counts were equally valid and that no conflict existed between the two. Later, he claimed in an interview that Dreamspell was really not a Mayan calendar, although he still asserted its value.

And this later position is obviously perfectly legitimate. As long as it is not claimed that the Dreamspell count has been used by the Maya anyone is in his right to assert its possible value, if any. As we discuss a new calendar for the future, for the new age, I believe however that what is most important is to specify what is the purpose of this calendar and chronology. Unless we do so we may either run into the kind of pie throwing that was typical of the True Count Debate, or resign to a attitude that has become common today, to claim that "anything goes," that there really is no such thing as a True Count and that all there is are our individual truths (But then, if there is no True Count, what value would any particular tzolkin count really have?).

In contrast to these resigned thoughts I feel that when it comes to developing a Mayan calendar useful to chart our future it is important to realize the predominant role of the tzolkin in such a project. It also seems that without exception Mayan day keepers maintain that the tzolkin count is the hub around which all other calendrical cycles turn, and it is for this reason that, although it has sometimes been lost, the tzolkin count is not known ever to have been intentionally reformed.

Tzolkin - The Master Calendar and center wheel

The tzolkin has been regarded as the master calendar around which all the others revolve. If it is true that the tzolkin count plays such a crucial role, then the consequence would be that if we desert it our calendrical system may end up anywhere. Unless we respect the Sacred Calendar - and its divine origin - there will be no hub keeping the various other calendars linked. To make a clear example of this: Many people have become fascinated by the fact that the Mayan Long Count ends in the year 2012, sensing that this may be a time of fundamental importance to humanity. And, in fact, the Mayan Long Count is a fairly exact calibration of a certain process of evolution of the human consciousness. This calendar is however linked to a certain tzolkin count, the Classical, meaning that it is only those that respect this hub of the calendars that will be in phase with the particular evolution of consciousness that the Long Count describes. If we instead chose to use another tzolkin count than the Classical, such as the Dreamspell, we will not be able to logically integrate the divine creation cycles in our thinking and we will thus miss the whole point with the spiritual calendars of the Maya - the possibility of being in phase with the ascension of humanity.

What then is the purpose of calendars? During the last 5000 years they have had an important purpose in aiding people to keep track of the agricultural year. For this purpose a calendar based on astronomical observations, and the exact estimation of the duration of the solar year, 365.242 years, seems natural. It has thus for agricultural reasons been necessary to arrive at a very exact estimate of the astronomical year and to keep each day of the year frozen with regard to the place the earth then occupies in its orbit around the sun. Such a calendar is useful for telling us when to sow and harvest, etc, and the Gregorian calendar for one fulfils this purpose very well. The same may be said also about a frozen haab, which is a Mayan calendar that is made up of eighteen uinals of twenty days plus the five extra days, the vayeb, when the gods rested (18 x 20 + 5 = 365). The Thirteen Moons of Dreamspell (13 x 28 + 1) fulfils the purpose of a calendar for the seasonal changes equally well. But it is certainly questionable if either the haab or the Thirteen Moons has anything to offer that goes beyond the Gregorian calendar when it comes to following the seasons or in aiding agriculture. I would say they do not.

Time is now accelerating

In addition to calendars for the agricultural year, and a number of astronomical calendars describing the movements of the various planets, the ancient peoples of this planet however also had a divine calendar which was founded on the 360 day year. Among the Maya this period of time was called a tun, which was also the foundation of their Long Count. But the same period of time exists under different names in all of the major ancient cultures on earth; it is found among the Chinese, in India, among the Sumerians and Egyptians and the Jews. It also existed in the ancient cultures of Europe, e.g. in Scandinavia and Italy. In the Book of Revelation, the most important prophetic scripture of the Christian religion, we may with some detective work find out that as this was written 360 days was considered as a "time".

Maybe then the ancient peoples of this planet were able to see something that for the most part we ourselves have become blind to, since they rather generally seem to have been using a holy calendar based on the 360 days in parallel with the agricultural calendar of 365 days. There is not space here to provide the evidence that the time period of 360 days is a key unit for the evolution of consciousness, but briefly it can be said that increasingly higher levels of human consciousness evolve according to rhythms given by different multiples of the tun . Thus, the frequency of creation step by step increases with each new level of consciousness in a pyramidal structure. Only calendars that are constructed in accordance with such a hierarchical structure of time cycles can create an understanding of the evolution of consciousness, while calendars that are based on an endless repetition of for instance the 28 day period or the 365 day period will always ultimately lead to a linear concept of time. Regardless of their duration an endless repetition of cycles will always result in a linear concept of time.

To return to the issue of the Dreamspell calendar it is a highly telling detail that this simply omits the leap day every fourth year. What this would mean is that in Argüelles view this particular day would lack a special tzolkin energy of its own and thus not be a part of the divine plan, since ultimately the tzolkin is a microcosm of this plan. While this may seem like a small detail, it highlights that in the Dreamspell concept of time matter is considered as primary to consciousness rather than the other way around. Or in other words, when the movements of matter does not quite fit Argüelles 13 x 28 + 1 scheme, it is the evolution of consciousness, the divine plan as expressed through the tzolkin count that is sacrificed, rather than the scheme. In reality, of course, the leap day is also part of the divine plan and of the energy sequence of the true tzolkin (although this is not expressed by the Dreamspell count to begin with). In my own opinion the divine plan is much more important for our spiritual evolution than the movements of matter, in this particular case the astronomical year.

The new phase in the evolution of consciousness that will start with the inception of the Galactic Creation Cycles on January 5, 1999 will not only carry a new consciousness of time, but also the return of Christ consciousness and the ascension of humanity to a higher consciousness. Since this process is not based on anything physical (In the new world view matter will be considered as secondary to consciousness and everything material that exists in the universe will be recognized as a manifestation of consciousness) it is not possible to use astronomical (365 days) or biological (28 days) cycles to describe its evolution. Following calendars based on the material reality, such as the Gregorian, the haab or the Thirteen Moons, can only result in people getting stuck in materialist concepts of time and remaining blind to the divine plan.

Those that look for a calendar that describes the evolution of consciousness should rather seek to follow a calendar based on the Classical 260 day tzolkin and the 360 day tun, cycles that have a purely spiritual origin. The tzolkin and the divine creation cycles based on the 360 day-"year" (which includes a range of time cycles, hablatuns, alautuns, kinchiltuns, kalabtuns, pictuns, baktuns and katuns each corresponding to the development of a specific frame of consciousness) describe the galactic vibrations that emanate from the invisible branches of the World Tree (the Milky Way). What is central in the divine process of creation is that its evolution proceeds as a result of Seven pulses of light interspersed by six periods of darkness, something which has been described by Sumerians, Babylonians, Jews, Christians and Muslims, but also hinted at by the Maya and Aztecs.

On the 5th of January 1999 such a process of creation consisting of thirteen tun will begin which will endow the human beings with a galactic frame of consciousness. The increasingly more rapid, and higher, vibrations that emanate from the World Tree will lead not only to an altered consciousness of time, but also to a new experience on our own part of colors, sounds and the existence of higher spiritual dimensions. The level of consciousness that this divine creation cycle gives rise to is the consciousness of the new age, the galactic consciousness, a frame of life we are just in the beginning of grasping. It is a calendar which describes the emergence of this new consciousness that we need in the new age of time - as the frequency increase gives time a new age.
