Updated Snow: All MTA Buses, Subways Some Suspended

2011-01-27T08:15:00.000-08:00

Snarky title aside, I think we are all relieved that we are able to stay home today. Mr. Eyre directed my attention out a little before hitting the sack last night, and I could not wait to shovel my car out of the dark this morning. I am stubborn soul, mind you, from a region receives its share of winter weather, and drove in the snow is not crazy enough to expectations. But today is a ridiculous attempt to be a day at school. Good call, I say, Mrs. Black.

But.

When I woke up in the wee hours this morning to see if I wanted to stay awake or if I could go back to bed as soon as I finish this post, I noticed that I had a message from 0:40 NotifyNYC When I read the text, I learned that the MTA bus service was "suspended until further notice."

My first reaction was that if the school closed, in fact I take a day off. I do not drive, but the bus is my backup in case of snow, and no buses running, I thought it was too dangerous for me to try the shuttle. I discovered, of course, a few minutes later (via text) that my concerns were more and enjoyed a lie. Okay, but you have to wonder why the school was not canceled when the bus made the decision. If it is too dangerous for buses with huge tire chains, is clearly too dangerous for most cars, and many children and teachers on the bus effectively unable to travel to school. Do we really need another four hours to think about it? Did they think that everything would be clarified by five?

5:00 is not a magic hour (like those of us who usually get up at that time can attest). Suspension of bus service is a very good sign that people cannot or should not attempt a trip. Call early in these circumstances. In any case, enjoy the days of grading and lesson of your own sweatpants on the couch. Miss Eyre back a few hours, a few hours of sleeps most delicious according to the information.

SEPTA|Seven Forces Drivers to Guess Sex

2011-01-27T07:52:00.000-08:00

Women: Keep long hair. Men to nurture beards. Passengers using public transport in southern Pennsylvania, which do not resemble their respective genres, can be launched from the bus Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA) requires its monthly passes will be marked with an "F" or label "M". You know, "M" for male and "F" for female. Highly developed material, actually. In theory, these labels to prevent people from sharing their passes with friends or relatives. Of course, this means that girls and male friends and relatives, and vice versa, the men shared with their passes.

Transit drivers have to determine the sex of the passenger before allowing them to grow. Failure to submit the paper marked gender can get you kicked off the train. This created much confusion for passengers question their gender presentation in front of a Busload of commuters. December 15 pilots against the exclusion of gender (Rage), a local organization fighting for policies announced the Bill of Rights in the staff room in front of the transit countries. Septa with a document that regulates trans easily adopted by pilots to go to work, school or a deli, without fear of being publicly banned. RAGE, said he had received numerous complaints of gender non-compliant passengers who were refused service or had to buy another ticket. During the recession, which means that transgender people can be paid double for the bus?

No other metropolitan areas in the United States to use the markers of gender are a monthly subscription. Transit, the company seems to take a lot of political flak. Setti Citizen Advisory Committee voted unanimously to remove the stickers, but the leadership has fallen. Equal value, in Pennsylvania, the land of the LGBT group, complained in social relations with the Philadelphia Commission in vain. Sensible person would just stop putting the pass sticker and call it a day. Think of the entire trees label, which will reduce every year!

As we begin 2011, it is time to put our New Year's resolutions into effect. I know for me, a fool with a beard, according to information.
