   The first step to becoming self-sufficient is not a garden, solar panels, or a big plot of land in the country.  It's becoming debt free.  Because if you carry debt you will never truly be free. This is all I have to really work with.  I have a small area under our deck that I planted some strawberries and rhubarb. However, it's being shaded by a tree so the strawberries never took off. The rhubarb will be good next year.

I bought a few flowers and a cherry tomato plant. I honestly didn't realize how hooked I would get. We live in an apartment with a balcony that faces south. Ok so a little about me and why I've started this blog. I'm not much of a writer, in-fact I hate writing. But I figure that this will be a good way to keep track of my thoughts, my ideas and experiences with anyone that is willing to read this.
A little about me I'm 25. I have 1 son 21mths and a wonderful husband. I graduated from college in 2005 with an AAS degree in Interior Design.
