The Day The Music Came Back

2013-01-10T23:34:00.004-08:00

So today, January 10th, seemed like a great day for music.

Yesterday, Justin Timberlake gave his 15+ million Twitter followers some juicy news by tweeting the "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST..."

When that time came, he tweeted "To whom it may concern...I think I'M READY! #JT2013" which linked to this video: http://countdown.justintimberlake.com/. Who's excited about Justin Timberlake making music once again? So far, he's had two albums in a decade. Isn't it crazy how fast time flies, I mean I bet many of us forgot that he was in N'Sync! Justin Timberlake has proven a lot to the entertainment industry: Boy band heart throb, soulful solo artist, talented actor, media entrepreneur (MySpace). Now with all that pull, he has the entitlement to do as he pleases, which is making millions of fans and supporters anxiously wait to see what his tweet was about! JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS RETURNING TO MUSIC Y'ALL!!!

Then on Facebook, Beyonce announced shortly after that Destiny's Child will reunite for a compilation album titled "Love Songs", releasing January 29th, which will feature the new song "Nuclear". Destiny's Child catapulted all members into superstardom, because not only were they beautiful women, but they all brought a different flavor to the group that everyone identified with. I remember how much I was in love with the group, and don't deny that you weren't either!

And in more music news...

It was also announced today that Alicia Keys will be going on tour with Miguel! Why am I excited about this? Because this seems like a great music tour; both are soulful artists who are so talented! Who can deny the sultriness of these two artists?

And that's the major news in music for TODAY. Which one are you most excited about?

KIMYE IS EXPECTING A BABY!

2012-12-30T22:23:00.001-08:00

Look like Kim's clock isn't pressing for time. It has been announced TONIGHT at Kanye's concert in Atlantic City that she is pregnant with Kanye West's baby. Though Kim has had her fair share of failed relationships and marriage, it looks like Kim is taking her sister's path when it comes to starting a family: First comes the baby, then marriage?

Kim has always been known as the hopeless romantic. Though Kim and Kanye have known each other for years, they just recently started dating this year and their whirlwind romance is history...traveling all around the world together, professing their love for one another...we get it.

Being that Kim is now three months pregnant, I'm sure the baby bump watching has already begun. Congrats to Kim on starting her family! Do you think the two will stay together during the entire pregnancy and potentially get married?

PSY, THE ANTI-AMERICAN EMERGES

2012-12-10T21:11:00.001-08:00

PSY, the Korean superstar who now holds the title for the Most Watched YouTube video of all time with "Gangnam Style" is now officially facing the negative side of stardom. Though we may perceive him as the fun and crazy pop-star, video has surfaced of him ranting anti-American words at a protest concert ten years ago.

The tirade was subjected to the American soldiers situated in Korea at the time who ran over two girls with their tank. During the song, PSY rapped “Kill those f***ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives, Kill those f***ing Yankees who ordered them to torture, Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers, Kill them all slowly and painfully.”

After news broke out, PSY's publicist issued the statement that "PSY expresses deep regret and pain for having said those particular words.”

Amongst his other words of sympathy, he says, “As a proud South Korean who was educated in the United States and lived there for a very significant part of my life, I understand the sacrifices American servicemen and women have made to protect freedom and democracy in my country and around the world. The song I was featured in, eight years ago, was part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean schoolgirls that was part of the overall antiwar sentiment shared by others around the world at that time.”

“While I’m grateful for the freedom to express one’s self, I’ve learned there are limits to what language is appropriate and I’m deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I’ve caused by those words.”

“I have been honored to perform in front of American soldiers in recent months, including an appearance on the Jay Leno show specifically for them, and I hope they and all Americans can accept my apology. “While it’s important that we express our opinions, I deeply regret the inflammatory and inappropriate language I used to do so. In my music, I try to give people a release, a reason to smile.”

“I have learned that thru music, our universal language we can all come together as a culture of humanity and I hope that you will accept my apology.”

What makes this story even more ironic is that PSY has just performed in front of President Obama! What do you think of PSY's anti-American rant?

THE ROYAL FAMILY ARE EXPECTING!

2012-12-03T21:35:00.001-08:00

News broke out today that Prince William and Dutchess Kate Middleton are officially expecting!

The media found out this news when Kate was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London due a little morning sickness she was experiencing. She was pretty much forced to confess her pregnancy due to hospitalization, though it seems that Kate hasn't hit the three-month mark yet.

The palace commented, "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby."

Though it is too early to announce whether or not the baby will be a boy or a girl, the countdown for the Royal Baby has officially begun with so much speculation around which name the future of royalty will have! When I found out this news today, I was extremely delighted! I can't wait to to see how this little royal will turn out, congrats to the Royal Family, especially Kate and William!

CHANNING TATUM NAMED PEOPLE'S SEXIEST MAN ALIVE!

2012-11-14T21:31:00.005-08:00

CHANNING TATUM IS DEFINITELY WINNING THIS YEAR! Being name People's Sexiest Man Alive is a title well deserved, and I'm sure all the ladies AND men can agree to this. But that's not all! He also landed the cover of GQ, getting the crown of Moviestar of the Year, you CANNOT stop him right now.

Not only is Channing Tatum's career on fire right now, but he's just an all around great guy...from what I hear. No one ever has a bad word to say about him. His wife says "People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don't know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is...He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get."

Upon hearing the news, Channing said, "My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,'...I told Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked...She was like, 'What?'...Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now."

It's also a no-brainer that he has a pretty awesome bod and the sexy dance moves to prove it. When discussing his physique, he told People, "I like to be lean. If I get too bulky I can't move well and I like to move...When I'm not training, I get really round and soft." I'm sure regardless, he can move just fine. ;)

Congrats again to Channing Tatum for taking the crown for both titles! I'm definitely looking forward to Magic Mike too, don't act like you're not either!

SELENA GOMEZ AND JUSTIN BIEBER'S PUPPY LOVE COMES TO AN END

2012-11-11T00:05:00.000-08:00

Justin sings, "If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go..." WHAT LIES!!!

News has broke out that Selena Gomez has broke up with Justin Bieber, and it's been a week and counting. Sources say it's due to the inevitable long distance relationship that just took a toll on the couple who were together for almost two years.

Since their breakup was a bit out of the blue, what may have caused it? Well, there is speculation about Justin Bieber being involved with a little angel that is, a Victoria's Secret supermodel by the name of Barbara Palvin.

This past week, a few exchanges on Twitter might be speculation enough to have you guessing if anything other than hanging out was really going on...

On Thursday, Palvin tweeted, "Lion king!...hey everyone. please calm down. he is all yours!! :) please :)."

Thursday night, rapper Lil Twist tweeted a photo of himself and Biebs with Palvin in the background, captioning, "Twizzy . @JustinBieber . barbarapalvin http://instagr.am/p/Ry94K_xN5u/,". Selena Gomez actually retweeted the photo the same day with a "....."

The day before, Barbara mentioned the Biebs on her Twitter page again saying, "okay sooo because u guys were askin for it! with @justinbieber ! you were great tonight! http://lockerz.com/s/259735356", therefore taking a picture together backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

As if things couldn't get more suspicious, it doesn't help that Barbara Palvin publicly announced "I don't like Selena Gomez by the way," to her fans during a live Ustream chat last December.

So is it really scheduling conflicts, or was three a crowd for Selena? Regardless, this was just a little puppy love for the two young'ins. Enjoy your life to the fullest when you can!!!

LADY GAGA ADDRESSES ADELE'S SIZE

2012-11-03T21:38:00.001-07:00

With all the news of Lady Gaga's weight fluctuations, the singer lashed out to her latest "victim", Adele. In an interview with Stylist UK, she wondered why her size was being tightly watched under a microscope instead of other stars, such as Adele.

"When I heard [her weight gain] was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election—I just thought, ‘This is f---king ridiculous.' I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home?... I thought, Well, I don't really care if they think I'm fat,' because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds. Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women. I need to be a confident woman and just say politically active things when I can that are helpful to young people."

What Gaga is confident about is when she's in her birthday suit. "That is most me—when I'm sighing out the whole day into a warm bath... So I guess what I'm saying is when I'm wearing the bathtub. The bathtub outfit."

In a way, I do think it's a bit ridiculous how the media world scrutinizes every single pound and inch lost or gained. Who cares?! Unless it's to the point where it's life threatening, it really shouldn't be such a big deal. But I guess being in a world exposed to the public, gives you more pressure to look like a surreal being, so people can have unrealistic expectations of what the world should be like. It's pretty sad, but in a way though this story kind of throws Adele under the bus, it addresses an important issue that more people need to recognize. We can't judge people so much by their physical appearance, when it's their talent that moves us.

ADELE BECOMES A MUMMY!!!

2012-10-22T22:39:00.000-07:00

Well that was fast! Talented singer Adele welcomed her first child, a boy, just yesterday with beau Simon Konecki. This will be Simon's second child, being that he has a daughter from his first marriage. Though rumors and eyebrows were quick to rise upon Adele's public statement regarding her pregnancy on June 29 that was over half of her full term, the singer 24, and her man 38, have quite an age difference as well.

Though the boy's name hasn't been publicly announced, I'm happy to hear that she has given birth to a healthy child. Now this songstress can stop with the heartbreaking songs and now sing about LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Congrats to the new Mum!

JESSICA BIEL AND JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE OFFICIALLY TIE THE KNOT!

2012-10-20T00:10:00.003-07:00

Today! Yes, today...Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have officially tied the knot in the southern Italian city of Fasano at the Borgo Egnazia resort. In a joint statement to People, the newlyweds said, "It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends."

The festivities that took place before the wedding included a casual beach party Wednesday night and dinner and drinks in Trappeto. More details regarding the nuptials are pretty secretive as of now because all the guests signed disclosure agreements.

When I heard this news today, I was pretty surprised because for some reason I keep on forgetting that these two are even a couple. They both keep their private lives hidden from the public, plus the couple has had their share of breakups and makeups due to Justin's playboy lifestyle he was holding on to. But when the couple decided to give it another try, she made sure he put a ring on it, a vintage diamond ring that approximately cost $130,000!

I'm happy to say that she managed to tie down a boy-bander turned bad boy...congrats to the both of you!

Beyonce Will Headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show!

2012-10-16T22:23:00.000-07:00

It has been confirmed earlier today that Beyonce will be headlining the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show! The superstar actually confirmed the rumors herself by posting an obvious photo onto her Tumblr account today.

This isn't Beyonce's first time on the big stage. She made an appearance alongside Santana for the pre-game Super Bowl XXXVII then returned the next year for XXXVIII to sing the National Anthem. Now Bey takes center stage for half time and now talk is circulating who she'll bring with her on stage...Jay-Z, her Destiny's Child group members, Lady Gaga, Kanye West?

What do you think of the news and what songs do you want her to perform?

Mila Kunis named Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive

2012-10-08T23:40:00.000-07:00

Well what do you we have here?! Mila Kunis was named Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive" for their November 2012 issue AND she is totally deserving of this honor! Not only do I think Mila Kunis is sexy, but she's definitely got a sense of humor and doesn't need to try too hard to have people attracted to her...men or women. I mean, she made Natalie Portman get in touch with her lesbian fantasies and scored her partner-in-crime Ashton Kutcher whom she has currently been dating for five months. Once Mila came out in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", her career skyrocketed, literally. Not to mention she hasn't even reach 30 yet. The future is bright for Mila Kunis and from what she had to say about this title is what makes us love her even more...

"What I do and who I am are two different things. And they always will be. What happens with people is they lose sight of who they are, and they become either who they want to be or who they are perceived to be. But whatever it is, it is no longer who they are. So much of who you are in this industry is based on what that critic says, what that director says, what that actor says. People start believing all that, and they become what everybody else wants them to be...And I think that I've consciously separated my two lives. I love what I do. I couldn't imagine doing anything else. But when I'm done with work, I'm done with work. I think that if I bought into the hype, I would lose all sight of who I am, and so much of who I am is what my parents went through and instilled in me. And I never want to lose that. Ever. Because I would be so disappointed if I didn't make them proud...I think I stumbled upon doing funny things, but I'm not funny. I just know how to deliver a joke," she said. "There are people who naturally exude humor and are constantly saying funny things, and there are the people who know how to deliver a joke. It's a learned skill. Through twenty years of doing this, I practice it. I think that the second you think that you're funny is when you stop being funny."

Chris Brown and Rihanna Reunited Again...

2012-10-06T00:29:00.001-07:00

Yes...it is true. All I can do is truly just shake my head.

It looks like Chris Brown and Rihanna are together again. This week, they spent three days together in NYC. On Monday, they were seen hugging and kissing at the nightclub Griffin. The next night, they reportedly met up at another nightclub 1Oak. Then on October 3rd, both Chris and Rihanna left the Gansevoort Hotel within minutes of one another and were both seen at Jay-Z's concert at Barclays Center, sitting behind Beyonce and Rita Ora. Chris was spotted putting his arm around Rihanna, and the two looked like they were getting cozy.

Though Chris' girlfriend Karrueche Tran was also seen earlier this week going to his hotel in NYC, looks like the couple is now split. Chris Brown told Hollywood Life, “I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don’t want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I’d rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives.”

Last night, Rihanna tweeted, "Tough times don't last.... But tough people do!!!" While Chris tweeted, "Both r Free from it all!"

But just a few hours after his official split with Karrueche, Chris posts a video on Twitter talking about this "stressful" situation. "When you share history with somebody, then you tend to fall in love with somebody else, it's kinda difficult. Is there such thing as loving two people? I don't know if that's possible, but for me, I feel like that...Y'all are probably like, 'What the (expletive) is he talking about right now?' But I'm just saying, I'm being real. I don't want to hurt either or. I'm not trying to be a player. I'm not trying to be a dog. None of that. My mama raised me differently. I just can't. It's too much sometimes."

In response, Karreuche tweets, "What the (expletive) is going on? All I'm saying is, you don't mess with people's genuine feelings. You just don't!"

What is going on here seriously? Though there has been a long speculation of Chris and Rihanna hooking up still for some time now, with Karreuche being aware, I think this situation is just messed up. I was totally on Team Rihanna when the entire incident broke out in 2009, which honestly turned me completely against Chris Brown as an outside person looking into the situation. Seeing Rihanna's two collaborations with Chris earlier this year as well as the Oprah interview where she admitted her love for Chris in my opinion is just shocking. Though I do understand how someone can love someone so much, I still won't be able to see past someone who abused me, if I were in that situation. Yes, Rihanna forgave him, but now it seems like she's forgetting it too. I wish she had a bit more respect for not only herself, but abused women in general. So many people, including me, will forever have a changed viewpoint of Chris Brown because of that situation, and now we all seem like fools for feeling that way since it looks like they may be back together. I love Rihanna, but this news is a bit disappointing...In regards to Karreuche, I advise her to stay away from him! He's obviously immature and not control of his emotions. How can you also be okay with knowing or speculating your boyfriend was cheating on you? Stay strong girl! What do you think of this news? I specifically wonder what Oprah, especially Jay-Z have to say about this!

Billie Joe Armstrong Rant Turned to Rehab

2012-09-29T21:12:00.000-07:00

So one week ago, Green Day performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. Because there are so many big names taking part in this yearly festival, every performer had the same set of time to make it fair. But during the last song for the Green Day set, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong went on a rant when he saw the alert that he had one minute left.

He ranted, “F— this shit. I’m gonna play a new song. F— this s—. Give me a f—ing break, one minute left! One minute f—ing left. You’re gonna give me one minute? Look at that f—ing sign right there. One minute. Let me tell you something. Let me f—ing tell you something. I’ve been around since 19-eighty-f—ing-eight. And you’re gonna give me one f—ing minute? You gotta be f—ing kidding me! What the f—? I’m not f—ing Justin Bieber, you motherf—ers! You gotta be f—ing joking. This is a f—ing joke. I got one minute left? And now I got nothin’ left. Let me show you what one minute f—ing means.”

Billie Joe then proceeded to smash his guitar onstage, flip off the cameras, and say, “One f—ing minute. God love you all. We’ll be back.” Watch the video below:

Two days after the tirade, Armstrong checked himself into rehab for substance abuse. Though the singer admitted to having issues that were drug and alcohol related, it was never anything serious up until this point. Green Day announced on their Facebook page that they "regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."

It looks like Green Day will have to somewhat redeem themselves as a musical presence. Though in the video it sounds like the cheers were all for Billie Joe, the situation just seemed like an uncomfortable moment for everyone, including me! I mean, how do you think Justin Bieber feels? Drunken tirades are known for spilling truths about what people really think and feel. Though Green Day have been around for a long time and I like their music, I strongly feel it was uncalled for to publicly declare your entitlement. What do you think of this outburst?

LMFAO NOT BROKEN UP! DUO HAS TAKEN A HIATUS!

2012-09-26T23:18:00.000-07:00

I cannot stress this point enough! Last week, news broke out of LMFAO "splitting" because Redfoo did an interview in which many people interpreted these quotes incorrectly...

"I feel like we've been doing this for so long, five or six years. And we're kind of like saying, well, let's just do what's natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time."

"I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we're always family," he said. "He'll always be my nephew, I'll always be his uncle."

The article was initially supposed to be about Redfoo taking an active sports interest in tennis by sponsoring the United States Tennis Association's Party Rock Open in Las Vegas and coaching Ayaka Okuno, while also planning on starting his own tennis clothing line aside from Party Rock Clothing.

Being a true fan of LMFAO, I took this article for what it was. Not only going into Redfoo's future projects regarding tennis and his music, but addressing the possible elephant in the room. He spoke about how him and bandmate/nephew Sky Blu are taking a hiatus from LMFAO and doing their own things for the time being, which is completely normal for musicians. For example: Gwen Stefani from No Doubt, Beyonce from Destiny's Child, Fergie and Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas...you get my drift. No worries LMFAO fans and haters, they are...I REPEAT ARE NOT BROKEN UP.

This is what Sky Blu had to say about the whole misinterpretation fiasco:

"Well, you know, first of all, we're not breaking up. I know that for sure. We're family and stuff, so it's always love .It's interesting because somebody will say one thing [and] it's just like high school, then all of a sudden [it's] 'They're breaking up. They're fighting.' It kind of gets blown out of proportion, so we're definitely not breaking up."

"Well, you know, we've been working as LMFAO for so long, and you know we've been working on a lot of other projects as well. And so I feel like our creative paths, we need to kind of realize these projects we've been working on. And it'll free up our minds and stuff to be able to take on another LMFAO project because the next one we do it's got to be that like [an] amazing, amazing crazy album and stuff like that. It's kind of like, let us get our wind up, let us kind of show the world who we are as individuals and then we come together stronger than ever."

"I love Foo with all my heart, that's my man. Me and him we did this whole thing together. I have him to thank for a lot of stuff that's going right in my life. Me and him are always good. That's my uncle. I love him."

TOLD YOU ALL I WASN'T TRIPPIN'! LMFAO is still good, just let them take a break from Party Rocking!

"The Voice" Judges Shake Up with Shakira and Usher

2012-09-17T20:37:00.001-07:00

Looks like The Voice is already planning for season 4 amidst the season 3 premiere just last week! Today, the increasingly popular show will bring Usher and Shakira as judges replacing Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera for the fourth season which airs next spring.

Christina Aguilera is taking a hiatus to come back to her #1 love = music. "Being a coach on 'The Voice' is a wonderful experience and the relationship amongst us all is like an extended family. I am so proud of being part of the show from the beginning, all the work we've done, and proud of what the show stands for as a whole. As I have expressed since day one of the show, that I am a singer and performer first and I am so excited to get back to that love. Since this year NBC and 'The Voice' have decided to tape back-to-back seasons, requiring a full-year commitment, it is important for me to take season four off, allowing me to support my music that my fans have been waiting for -- with the release of my new album 'Lotus' on November 13. By pursuing my first passion of music during the break, I am also able to come back and offer even more to my team on 'The Voice' in the future.”

Cee Lo is also taking time off for music and a new comedy on what better network than NBC. "First ... thank you NBC for supporting my decision to take this season four hiatus! It says that I'm seen and respected as a complete artist and not just a cast member. I'm highly enthusiastic about focusing my undivided attention on my additional endeavors and interests like my upcoming solo album, new Goodie Mob album, Las Vegas residency 'Loberace,' new memoir, and new NBC comedy. It’s great to also give a host of other talent the chance to experience what a joy it is to be part of what is truly THE BEST SHOW of them all, 'THE VOICE!' I will return for season five and will be watching season four. NBC is home and as far as Usher and Shakira are concerned -- ‘mi casa su casa.’"

I'm actually really psyched about this shake up in the judges panel for The Voice! Though Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were not enough of a reason to have me tune into the show, adding my girl Shakira is a definite win! By the way when I heard this news, did anyone else think it was a bit questionable that the races of the replacements are somewhat interchangeable? Just a thought...but interesting to note haha! Bring it on Season 4...it's going to be LOCA!!!

RYAN REYNOLDS AND BLAKE LIVELY GET MARRIED!

2012-09-10T21:52:00.000-07:00

Okay, so this is totally out of left field! Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are officially married! Did anyone even know about an engagement first? Whatever the case is, props to the couple for keeping their relationship under wraps from the press. Ryan Reynolds, 35, and Blake Lively, 25, got married in a tight knit ceremony at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The wedding reception took place under a giant white tent with entertainment by Blake's friend Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine and a DJ.

Kelly Gukanovich from the local radio station said, "I am being told there were around 60 people at the event and that a local restaurant may have catered it. Ryan has always loved it here and when he got together with Blake, he started to bring her here, too."

The newlyweds have both had their share of serious relationships. Ryan Reynolds used to date Alanis Morissette and was married to Scarlett Johannson for two years and Blake Lively dated "Gossip Girl" co-star Penn Badgley and Leonardo DiCaprio. Congrats to the couple!

LANCE ARMSTRONG GIVES UP TITLES, YET KEEPS SPONSORS

2012-08-24T23:16:00.000-07:00

"I refuse to participate in a process that is so one-sided and unfair..."

Yesterday night (Thursday), Lance Armstrong gave up his 7 Tour de France titles over the years of accusations... He stated: "I know who won those seven Tours. The toughest event in the world where the strongest man wins. Nobody can ever change that. Especially (USADA CEO) Travis Tygart." Armstrong vows to "commit myself to the work I began before ever winning a single Tour de France title: serving people and families affected by cancer, especially those in underserved communities."

For several years, Lance Armstrong has been battling against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency who's been accusing him of cheating throughout all the times he's won the Tour de France title. Lance Armstrong was truly a hero to everyone who had been battling cancer, that they can overcome any hurdles they were faced with. Do you remember how everyone was wearing those "Live Strong" yellow rubber bracelets? Those were a big fashion trend inspiring the world to take each day by the horns and live it to the fullest.

Despite the controversy surrounding this issue, his sponsors are still standing by his side. Last year, Armstrong has managed to make an estimated $15.3 million from endorsements by Nike, Oakley, 24 Hour Fitness, Michelob Ultra and Radio Shack.

His biggest sponsor Nike said, "We are saddened that Lance Armstrong may no longer be able to participate in certain competitions and his titles appear to be impacted. Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position. Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors."

Anheuser-Busch vice president of U.S. marketing Paul Chibe stated, "Our partnership with Lance remains unchanged. He has inspired millions with his athletic achievement and his commitment to helping cancer survivors and their families."

24 Hour Fitness commented, "24 Hour Fitness remains committed to helping our members improve their lives through fitness and exercise and does not condone the use of performance-enhancing drugs or procedures. We will continue to assess the situation with Lance Armstrong."

Oakley also said, "...respects his decision and his restated commitment to focus on the Foundation he created to help battle cancer. As Lance’s longtime supporter and partner, Oakley respects his decision and his restated commitment to focus on the Foundation he created to help battle cancer. He has inspired many and the Foundation is an example of his work. Oakley will continue to support The Lance Armstrong Foundation, and as we have stated in the past, Oakley supports its athletes who respect and honor the ethics of sports until proven otherwise.”

What do you think of this situation? Do you feel Lance Armstrong should've given up his battle against the USADA? I feel this situation is pretty pathetic especially since he's been retired. Who has the time to keep accusing someone of doping, why didn't that happen at the time being? Even though Lance Armstrong til this day has not admitted to the charges filed against him, I feel as though he shouldn't have gave up the fight. But on the other hand, these titles are so miniscule compared to the positive impact and inspiration he gave so many people. Now I suggest the USADA go pick on someone who's relevant to the charges being filed.

RYAN LOCHTE TRADEMARKS "JEAH"!

2012-08-21T22:44:00.000-07:00

This has been quite a summer for Ryan Lochte. Not only has he been one of the main faces of the 2012 Olympic Games, but he also has 2 gold medals to prove his success, along with numerous endorsements deals.

Already on August 1, Ryan applied for the trademark to his infamous phrase "Jeah" from the U.S. Trademark Office. Expect to see "jeah" on every type of merchandise available: "key chains, calendars, posters, workout videos, swim goggles, mugs, water bottles, gift cards, photos and drinking glasses."

In case you don't know what "Jeah" pronounced like "Chyeah" means, here's a little video from 2009 to enlighten you...(try to ignore the surfer dude accent).

NICKI MINAJ JOINS "AMERICAN IDOL"

2012-08-20T23:00:00.000-07:00

Nicki Minaj is about to Beez in the American Idol trap!

An insider said, "I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening."

But another source said, "The 'Super Bass' rapper, 29, is 100% confirmed to judge American Idol."

The confusion amidst lies in the fact that reps for FOX and Minaj had no comment when contacted by Us. Nicki Minaj would join Mariah Carey and possibly Randy Jackson as judges on American Idol. Currently, there is also consideration for Nick Jonas and my love Pharrell Williams to be judges on the show that is undergoing a huge makeover right now.

One thing is, I feel FOX exec really have to evaluate the entire scope of who these judges will be. Since Nicki Minaj is a rap artist, and Mariah Carey is mainly R&B, does FOX really want to hire another person in the rap/R&B world like Pharrell? Though I do love him, I feel with that judges table, they might lose a whole American audience and attract a wrong crowd. They definitely need a great mix to compete with the other reality competitions out there, or else American Idol will lose their ratings, fast.

Rest in Peace HELEN GURLEY BROWN

2012-08-16T23:23:00.000-07:00

"Good girls go to heaven. Bad girls go everywhere."

This past Monday, Helen Gurley Brown, the woman who was basically responsible for changing Cosmopolitan magazine as we know today, has passed away at the age of 90. As editor of the magazine between 1965-1997, she was the one who's initially credited for coining the "Sex and the City" catchphrase, therefore pushing the boundaries of single women unabashed by their independence and sexual freedom.

When Helen took over Cosmopolitan in 1963, the magazine was formerly known for it's home and hearth articles along with uplifting stories featuring demure, straight edge, girl-next-door types. But on that cover of July 1965 came a voluptuous blonde model showing much cleavage along with the headline "World’s Greatest Lover — What it was like to be wooed by him!” The Cosmopolitan girl Brown identified was "self-made, sexual and supremely ambitious...she looked great, wore fabulous clothes and had an unabashedly good time when those clothes came off."

The revamped Cosmo soon after took flight amongst the masses. No longer was it a secret or a sin to talk about self pleasure and sex. Stepping down as editor-in-chief, while still remaining the editor of international editions, Helen worked "from an office appointed with pink silk walls, leopard-print carpet and a cushion embroidered with the maxim 'Good Girls Go to Heaven/Bad Girls Go Everywhere.'"

Amongst her many books are: “Sex and the Office” (1964), “Helen Gurley Brown’s Single Girl’s Cookbook” (1969), “Sex and the New Single Girl” (1970), “The Late Show” (1993), "Bad Girls Go Everywhere (2009).

The crazy thing about hearing this news is that I actually read a long story about Cosmopolitan magazine and how international it is now. Much of the success Cosmo sees today is because of Helen Gurley Brown and the risk she took back in the day to publicize how females don't have to settle for less than what they deserved. In the old days, if you weren't married by 23, you would be considered prehistoric and outdated. It's crazy to see how much how changed nowadays, about 40 years later where women are getting married at a later age, even raising children on their own if they didn't find the right man to marry. This is definitely the age where independent females are put on a pedestal, showcasing that they can truly have it all. What's even more inspiring are the females who are self-made, showing that success is more meaningful when it is well earned. I will forever admire Helen Gurley Brown for not being afraid to take risks and for being the voice to so many females out there in expressing themselves. Cheers to you!

CHAD "OUCHO-CINCO" LOSES HIS COOL

2012-08-14T22:44:00.000-07:00

Chad Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, was arrested this past weekend for a domestic violence dispute. When him and his newlywed bride Evelyn Lozada came back to their house after running errands, Evelyn found a receipt for a box of condoms in the car. Confronting him about the situation at hand, Chad seemed very upset and supposedly head-butted Lozada, though he claims she did it.

To avoid further escalation, Lozada gets out of the car and goes to a neighbor's house to get help. Meanwhile, Chad drives the car "looking for her". While the police arrested Chad, Evelyn was getting treated for a laceration on her forehead due to the head-butt.

And in just one eventful day, all of Chad Johnson's world shattered. The former couple's show Ev and Ocho which was due to premiere September 3rd is cancelled. VH1 execs commented, "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it."

Because of the arrest, Chad Johnson's contract with the Miami Dolphins has now been terminated as well, not to mention a criminal record consisting of domestic violence if the story proves to be true.

Today, Evelyn Lozada filed for divorce from Chad Johnson claiming the marriage is "irretrievably broken" after just 6 weeks of marriage which was SHORTER THAN KIM K'S MARRIAGE! Though I am glad to hear that Evelyn was quick to file the divorce papers, I feel this situation was definitely bound to happen. First off, Chad Johnson has a history of domestic violence in the media. Evelyn is also a hothead and we all know that mixing 2 hotheads in a relationship is bound for destruction. Valuable lession: 2 wrongs don't make a right...

KIM K IS KANYE'S "PERFECT BITCH"

2012-08-14T21:41:00.000-07:00

"I wrote the song Perfect Bitch about Kim," Kanye tweeted. Do I even want to hear this song? No I don't, but I most likely will.

And how do you think Miss Kim K responded to the gesture? "I'm honored. I love it. I know he doesn't mean it in a negative way when he says the word 'bitch.' The song talks about how he was with so many other girls but could never find the right one until he met me." Can anyone say 'full of yourself'?

Yes, the whole world knows that Kimye are head over heels for one another, but the vanity has never been so apparent in a relationship than it is with these two. Just hope this whole ordeal doesn't blow up in their faces if they ever break up. Then what?

Words of advice: Maybe for once, you both should try to keep your private life...PRIVATE. Then you wouldn't have so many failed relationships! In regards to the song "Perfect Bitch", I personally despise the word, like A LOT! I feel it's the worst word any person could call a female, and yes I'm including girl-to-girl as well. Regardless of the meaning behind it, that word has to be one of the most disrespectful words ever. I'M JUSSS SAYYYIINNNNNN....

LONDON OLYMPICS CLOSING CEREMONY 2012!

2012-08-13T23:29:00.000-07:00

Last night was the closing ceremony for the 2012 London Olympic games! After 17 days of basically being glued to my television watching the pre-recorded events every night, I can finally say that I hope my life gets a lot more productive now that the Olympics are over and done with!

The closing British ceremony was filled with music! It's crazy to think how many English musicians there are which are heavily influencing pop culture as it is today. Amongst the many performers of the night were Jessie J, Taio Cruz, Tinnie Tempeh, The Who and Muse (which they didn't air), Monty Python, Russell Brand, Fat Boy Slim, George Michael, and Emeli Sande.

I got to give definite props to Jessie J. The last memory I had of her was from the previous MTV VMA's, where she had a bedazzled cast and was sitting down singing. It was nice to see you functioning well, two legs fitted, and body EXTRA fitted!

I love my One Direction boys too! I am so psyched with the new era of boy bands making a comeback in music these days, except for the fact that they don't have dance moves like the late boybands such as N'Sync and Backstreet Boys. One Direction sang so beautifully "What Makes You Beautiful", and sounded amazing! They are too cute!

There was also an ode to the British Fashion Hauses along with the infamous supermodels: Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson, and Stella Tennant. In the background was the glam rock music of David Bowie, with no appearance from the famed musician himself.

Now I may be biased here, but he best moment of the closing ceremony had to be the Spice Girls reunion, yes all 5 of them came together onstage and rocked out to 'Wannabe' and 'Spice Up Your Life'. Seeing them brought back so many great childhood memories, I was seriously one of the hardcore fans when I was younger. I was really devastated when they broke up, but to see them together again brought back tears of joy...LITERALLY! Not only did they sound amazing, but they look so FABULOUS! I hope they all decide to come together at least one last time to do a final universal tour as the original Spice Girls! See them out here: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/2012/closing-ceremony-spice-girls-reunion.html

With the torch being officially passed on to Rio in honor of the 2016 Olympic Games, the theme of Carnival brought a new energy to the ceremony which I will definitely be looking forward to 4 years from now. Who's going with me, because I'm definitely going! All in all, I want to say how proud I am to be a part of #TEAMUSA, and congratulations to all the Olympians for representing our country well!

Jennifer Aniston Gets The Ring!

2012-08-13T21:39:00.000-07:00

Justin Theroux must've liked it enough to put a ring on it, because now him and Jennifer Aniston are engaged after a little over the year. The couple began dating in May of 2011, meeting on the set of the film "Wanderlust". Going into what caught her eye, she explained, "What I think is so awesome about Justin is that he really just disappears," she added. "He sort of morphs into things, into characters and also has a leading-man quality, which I think is beautiful. He's just great."

On Justin's 41st birthday this past Friday, he decided to pop the question to Jennifer and she accepted. When asked about her personal life, Jennifer Aniston admittedly responded, "Yes, I'm very happy. I'm extremely lucky, and I'm extremely happy." This will be the first marriage for Theroux and the second for Jennifer, as we know all know who was formerly married to Brad Pitt awhile ago.

I'm so happy to hear this news because Jennifer Aniston seems like one of the most down-to-earth people ever. Not only does she seem like she has a great heart, but it's her radiance that attracts many of us to her today. Congrats Jen and Justin, I can't wait to hear details on your wedding! You both deserve the utmost happiest!
