Time is our total capital, and the minutes of our lives are painfully few.

No one recovers entirely in a vacuum, yet there are many legitimate paths to recovery. One well-documented route is natural recovery, also known as spontaneous remission, in which individuals resolve their addiction without formal treatment or participation in support groups. Research suggests that a substantial portion of people — often estimated between 40% and 60% — achieve recovery without professional intervention or mutual-help organizations. Environmental changes, personal motivation, and life circumstances frequently play decisive roles in both the development and resolution of addiction.

What constitutes “recovery”? Is it total abstinence, moderated use, improved quality of life, spiritual connection, or something else? In Alcoholics Anonymous, the emphasis is placed on complete abstinence and lifelong adherence to the 12 Steps. Long-term members often assert that moderation is impossible and that quitting successfully on one’s own is equally unrealistic. Yet evidence shows that many people have done precisely that. They reach a point where they no longer value getting high above all else, cease or moderate their use, and move forward without meetings, sponsors, or daily recitation of program literature.

The Limitations of Meetings

A common slogan in 12-step programs is “meeting makers make it.” The reasoning is that regular attendance provides discipline, accountability, social support, early warning against relapse, and inspiration. This approach rests on the premise that addicts are never cured and must maintain constant vigilance, because addiction thrives in isolation and the individual left to their own devices will inevitably return to use.

This view, while helpful to many, is dogmatic. Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. The assertion that every addict requires lifelong meeting attendance and must forever identify as “an addict” is not empirically supported. Many people recover through diverse pathways. The literature on this is clear.

In my experience, meetings often felt boring and repetitive. The same passages from the Big Book are read aloud, followed by shares that frequently follow a similar narrative arc. While some attendees find genuine value and connection, others — myself included — experience them as an inefficient use of limited time. For me, that time is better spent exercising, reading, practicing music, or engaging in thoughtful reflection. What helps one person maintain sobriety may feel like a burden to another.

Solitude and Connection

“No man is an island,” wrote John Donne. Yet Henry David Thoreau observed that he “never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude.” I stand closer to Thoreau. While I value meaningful interaction and derive satisfaction from helping others, I find excessive group fellowship draining. My most productive and serene periods have come in relative solitude, punctuated by chosen connections rather than obligatory ones. This approach is not total isolation — I work, engage with the world, and maintain relationships — but it rejects the idea that constant group attendance is essential for lasting recovery.

Rethinking the Disease Model

Addiction is frequently described as a chronic disease, with the accompanying slogan “once an addict, always an addict.” Mainstream medicine largely endorses this framework. However, critics rightly point out that addiction lacks a single, clear etiology. It arises from a complex interplay of genetics, environment, behavior, and neurobiology. Unlike classic diseases, it is heavily influenced by personal agency and social context.

The brain’s neuroplasticity offers genuine hope. Through repeated positive behaviors — new routines, exercise, mindfulness, and purposeful living — neural pathways can be reshaped over time. The notion that one remains permanently defined by past addiction is overly fatalistic. Many people leave their addictive patterns behind and do not return.

Conclusion

Recovery is ultimately a personal journey rather than a prescribed doctrine. I have found greater success and satisfaction through self-directed discipline, intellectual honesty, and chosen solitude than through ritualized meetings and permanent identification as an addict. The evidence supports that this works for many, just as 12-step programs work for others. What matters is not loyalty to any single model, but discovering what actually sustains one’s sobriety and quality of life.

Even if it grants you great wealth, puts food on your family's table, or just another car payment due, it is a grave mistake to be wicked. People think they are invulnerable, that they will never get held responsible for their evil deeds. All criminals in jail believe they are innocent, and all of them thought they'd never get caught. It often involves breaking Man's law, and also God's law at the same time. Evil despises God, because He exists and is good. All men know this. Over 2000 years ago, Paul the Apostle wrote: (Romans 1, verses 18-25, NIV)

"...The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. "

This ancient passage was written centuries ago, before today when honest scientists are amazed at the signs of God that are everywhere. The DNA molecule, for example, appears to have been purposely, consciously engineered. The chemical reactions at the cellular level that builds a human being are so complex that there is next to zero chance that all of this evolved naturally. One simple mistake along the path of evolution, and nothing happens at all. But, what was Paul referring to?

We see beauty in the world and marvel at it, transfixed. So did the ancients. Paul actually heard Jesus' voice, but he also knew in his heart that God shows Himself in the inexplicable beauty of music, of art, and of nature, in the birth of a child, in the abundance of resources on Earth to sustain and enable life to flourish, in the seemingly insatiable desire for something more than earning a living and getting drunk on the weekends, and in the end, in the hearts and souls of all people who know, even if they refuse to admit nor acknowledge it, that God is inside them. As Dr. Jordan Peterson puts it, there's a spark of the divine in everyone, and in all of nature.

Evil people deny this, for as it so happens, it shines light on who they really are. Atheists are atheists because atheism allows them freedom from moral responsibility. They can exchange the truth of God for a lie. Their wishes and feelings become primary, and so the lie becomes believable. God says don't kill; killers say He doesn't exist. God says be sexually pure, perverts say "no God!". God says don't be greedy, be kind and help others as much as you can. Atheists don't feel nor obey this piece of sound advice. God for them is a buzzkill. Ignore Him, and you can do whatever you want. Like aborting an unwanted child. Like diddling children. Like seizing power over an entire country, and then looting it systematically. Like disregarding the impact of what you do on others. The self is the center of the atheists' worldview. Have you ever noticed the peculiar anger and hostility most articulate atheists spew on believers? They say it's because God is a dangerous delusion, a myth invented by people afraid of death. They warn of the consequences of belief, and act with contempt and derision towards those who believe in God. Why such vitriol? Because God and His believers are barriers to what they really want to do. Period.

This is almost unbelievably wicked, but the depths of human evil go all the way down to Hell. And this, precisely this, is what is so grievously wrong about the social trends of today. Most of them are self-centered, emphasizing immediate gratification, but today, a heinous evil is taking place that clearly shows the fathomless depth of human depravity: the sexualization, sterilization, and mutilation of children. This is happening all over the Western world, where bizarre things happen that are truly appalling. Men dressed as women competing against them in sports, reading stories to children in public libraries (often in full drag), children told that they were born in the wrong body, (and encouraged to mutilate themselves to "fix" it), and children dressed in sexually suggestive clothing appearing in ads and movies.

What is "the lie"? No God.

My room mate spent nearly half a day "fellowshipping". Half a day? I wondered what the hell he did for all that time-at least four hours-I mean, what can anyone possibly talk about for four hours in one place? This was after an AA meeting, so I suppose they traded stories of their lives before and after alcohol. I can't imagine how any of that could be fun for four hours, or even thirty minutes, to be honest. Yet my roommate and others I've met speak very highly of fellowshipping, as if it were the height of wholesome entertainment. For me, it's the height of boredom, no matter where it takes place. After any meeting, really. Most of the people I've met in fellowship circles are almost all uniformly bland, incurious, and predictable. Yet even so, I am one those types of people who do not crave the company of others-I prefer dogs and cats-and even if I were "fellowshipping" with a group of geniuses, I'd still prefer to be alone.

For My Grandchildren: Advice Concerning Work

The only relevant things in the job market are competency, and the ability to get along with co-workers and customers.

Can you do the job? Perform the task efficiently and competently? Can you overlook your co-worker's obnoxious attitude and carry on with your job? Can you respect the customer's humanity, desire sincerely to help him, and ignore their body odor? Do you refrain from being obnoxious and irritating yourself? Are you kind when people approach you with their concerns? In other words, if you can do the job well, and are not a lizard person, then you'll be successful in the job market, and in the other areas of your life. Why? Because in the job market, competency and tolerance of others are paramount.

BUT, tolerating others is not always easy. Some are straight-up bullies at work, some are loud and annoying, others are confused as to why they are there. Also, anyone who works in retail or in restaurants/bars etc., knows how rude and intemperate some customers can be. There are many good ways to deal with this, but perhaps the most important is that you do not devalue nor demean yourself-not even the Karen attacking you-and silently ask God to bless this person. I've tried it, and it helped to keep me in my center. Remember: you are capable of acting in the exact same way as a rude customer. DO NOT GET OFFENDED, ANGERED, NOR INTEMPERATE YOURSELF. "God, please help me to understand this person and help him in accordance with compassion, empathy and respect".

Work can be fun, and almost always is rewarding. The point is, you really have no alternative. You either work, steal, or live off of someone else's work. Not only that, but you're going to be working about third of your life. Make it worthwhile! Know what you are doing and why, and love others as you love yourself.

A beautiful young Ukrainian refugee, Iryna Zarutska—23 years old, fleeing the horrors of war only to have her throat slashed in a savage, unprovoked stabbing on an American train by a repeat offender with a rap sheet stretching back years—now has her memory whitewashed from a public mural memorializing her in Providence, Rhode Island. Not because the artwork was ugly or offensive in any aesthetic sense, but because, according to the city's enlightened mayor and his cohort of virtue-signaling officials, it simply doesn't represent "our values." Whose values? What values? The ones that prioritize feelings over facts?

Picture it: the image of Iryna cowering in terror in her final moments is forever burned into the minds of anyone with a functioning conscience. That fragile, innocent face twisted in unimaginable fear as a monster with 14 prior arrests—released time and again by a broken, no-cash-bail system—ended her life. She came seeking sanctuary. She found slaughter instead. "Divisive," the leftist progressive scum sniff. "Misguided." As if memorializing a slaughtered innocent is the real crime here, not the systemic failure that enabled her killer.

This is almost too much to bear. These are the same self-righteous voices who turned George Floyd into a secular saint, painting murals of him across the country, toppling statues, burning cities, and lecturing the rest of us endlessly about "systemic racism" and the sacred duty to "say his name." Floyd was a career criminal whose death became the pretext for nationwide rioting, billions in damage, and a cultural revolution that excused every subsequent outrage. They wept crocodile tears for him. They canonized him. They still invoke his name like a holy incantation to shame anyone who dares question open borders, soft-on-crime policies, or the deliberate importation of chaos.

But Iryna? A young woman of grace and promise, her life cut short in one of the most brutal ways imaginable? Silence. Worse than silence—active erasure. No nationwide protests. No endless media cycles. No demands for accountability from the same politicians who lecture about "protecting the vulnerable." But perhaps most importantly, football has taught me about community - how a shared passion can unite people, creating bonds that last well beyond the game. Whether it's learning to accept failure or celebrating success, the field has been my teacher, showing me how to navigate life's plays with grace and determination.

So, let me tell you a personal story:

I've been a New Orleans Saints football fan all my life, and it hasn't always been easy. For years, we suffered through losing seasons, with fans at the Superdome even wearing paper bags over their heads in mock shame. Yet, our loyalty never wavered; we cheered on our "Ain'ts" regardless.

This year, however, was different. With players like Drew Brees, Pierre Thomas, Robert Meachem, Reggie Bush, Mike Bell, Darren Sharper, Jonathan Vilma, Jeremy Shockey, and the entire team, we achieved an unprecedented 13-3 season.

There was also the surprising loss to Tampa Bay in our own dome, but then came the victory over the Patriots on Monday Night Football, with the whole nation watching. Brees led the NFL in passer rating, making this season one far beyond my wildest dreams.

But it's more than just fandom. Imagine the Superdome filled with thousands of proud Saints fans, their collective joy echoing like thunder. This unique ferocity of loyalty has been noted by many, and it swells my heart with pride to be a New Orleanian.

When we were all living in the jungle, before we built cities, some people began to notice that there were people amongst them who were doing a lot better than most. They had better food, women, clothes, etc.-and that made them envious and hateful. How could you have a steak to eat, when I have nothing? How could everyone praise you, but ignore me? Such a dark emotion to feel at the sight of someone's achievement! Instead of channeling their ambition into productive or creative endeavors, envious individuals direct their energy towards destructive desires, wishing to diminish others rather than elevate themselves.

This desire to tear down successful and accomplished people comes from a profound sense of self-loathing. Look at what they're saying about Elon Musk, the billionaire who now finds himself as an advisor to the President. Most of the criticism is baseless and distorted, but one specific charge—that he could distribute his wealth to aid the entire world yet chooses not to, thereby demonstrating his greed and venality—stands out. Why? What is morally wrong with wanting to keep the money you earn? Why do people believe that achieving extraordinary success makes someone inherently evil? Because such people believe that the good is what is good for society, the community, or any collective. "No man is an island", they say, thus absolving them from personal responsibility. It's as if they are saying: "love me, because I'm ordinary, average, and have accomplished nothing".

And so we have the Democratic Party, who represents the hateful, envious and undifferentiated amongst us.

On Playing Music

"IT'S JUST TWO CHORDS!", I told the man who complimented me after I played “Ode to Joy”. This melody was much more complex than just two chords in Beethoven's 9th Symphony, of which “Ode to Joy” is part. Nevertheless, it has become a simple Christian worship song, a song that resembles children’s tunes in chord structure (“Mary Had a Little Lamb”, and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” comes to mind). I briefly discussed this with him, and he confessed to loving such music for it's simplicity, but not really understanding the musical theory behind it. I was absolutely amazed at this man’s kindness, however, because it was obviously sincere. So now, dear reader, let me ask you a question: what do you think is the most real, most sincere way to show your appreciation to a musician you like? Applaud/clap? Tip? Make a shrine to him or her in your closet?

As a musician who has been playing for many years now, I can answer that truthfully: your genuine smile, your appreciation, and your heartfelt comments. Forget the tip, forget the money altogether because all that does is take care of the living on Earth problem. My dream here is to not fill a massive stadium and make a lot of dough, but to fill a small to medium sized room, and as Don McLean sang, "make those people dance" (and maybe they’d be happy for a while).

That’s why I wonder about the musicians who are only in it for the money. To be exact, I wonder about anyone who thinks that whoever dies with the most cash, wins. Root, hog, or die. They stockpile and stockpile, grubbing cash as if the only way they could ever be satisfied is if they had all the money. But then, what would fill their empty souls? Popularity in excess is extremely dangerous. Witness Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson as the two most glaring examples. To be sure, as I’ve said, money helps a lot with the “Living on Earth Problem” (and all that entails), but! How much baby do you really need? (thank you, Michael Nesmith). I also wonder what some one as popular as Taylor Swift does when she wants to go outside in privacy; for her, a brisk morning walk is dangerous and she must have bodyguards whenever she ventures out and about. Almost everyone she meets tries to exploit her in some way, no doubt. Other hyper-famous musicians, and screen actors, have said as much, and I suppose politicians experience the same thing as well. But Taylor Swift has achieved the pinnacle of musical success-she fills gigantic stadiums everywhere she goes-and most of the world knows who she is. Fame, and fortune! It's alluring and hard to resist, but the evidence suggests that it takes it's toll. John Lennon was shot and killed outside of his apartment by a deranged fan.

Playing music is a form of self-expression, but when people listen to what I play and like it, it becomes something much more.

This is what's happening in the UK right now. Farmers are being pushed off their farms. Why?

The new inheritance tax in the UK is a bizarre attempt to force farming landowners to sell their land. Similar attempts to force farmers off their land are also taking place in The Netherlands and elsewhere. The reason most often stated for this is to protect the environment from the ravages of farming. The real reason is the land grab, so they can build wind and solar power generators-in order to slow and eventually stop global temperature fluctuations and climate change. This situation in Europe illustrates why politics suck: a group of people-farmers- are being legally robbed by another group of people-leftist activists. This group of people also want to see the population of the Earth drastically reduced, which is why the consequences of their farming policies-famine and death-does not bother them at all. Too many people causing harm to "The Planet". If there are food riots, then that provides an excuse for the government to swoop in with their power and so clamp down on the populace. Merely for the sake of the power to do so. A careful examination of the idea that man-made emissions are causing the global temps to rise-and eventually destroy human civilization-shows that "global warming" is a hoax, a scam, a lie told in order for the leftist elitists to get what they want. A very large amount of people are going to starve to death under these policies designed to combat a non-existent threat.

I had the experience of dealing directly with someone who hates Donald Trump. This person told me that anyone who votes for him is not welcome in her house. Well, that concerned me a little because I'm her room mate. She's sleeping right now on the other side of the apartment. Fortunately, she can not just call the police and have me evicted. I'm on the lease with her. Last night she had a run against me and Donald Trump that told me a lot. Here's a brief background: before she knew I support Trump, she thought I was a great guy and all, didn't hassle her for sex, cleaned after myself, and paid the bills on time. She'd get drunk and tell me how much she loves me, how much she "really appreciates" me and asks me to never go away. Sober, she's respectful and even affectionate. But, after she knew I supported Trump, I was a "woman hater", "against her children"; she accused me of being a "racist", of being a typical "white guy" voting for the "white guy". After spewing basically the worldview of Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg all over me-the one that posits life as a big "fuck you"-she actually had spittle foam at the corner of her mouth. She wasn't being cute or funny or practicing absurdist comedy. She was "for real". She meant (or perhaps thought she meant) all she told me. And guess what happened when I explained to her-with receipts-that she was wrong? She doubled down, of course. Shrill, hysterical and consciously evil. All that was what this person showed me in response to learning of my support of Donald J. Trump.

During one long and painful session of listening to my room mate ranting and essentially venting her anger against Donald Trump and his supporters, I realized something. She was going on and on, livid with her misguided rage (but feeling justified in it, nevertheless). Any attempt to inject reason into our "argument" resulted in her either doubling down, or just inventing another charge against Trump (and his political supporters). She hates for the sake of her hatred, as if that were her life's purpose. Not to love and to forgive, but to hate. I out right asked her, "so you think it's OK to punish people for what they believe, if you disagree with them? You would throw me out on the street, homeless, to lose my job and my things, because you hate Donald Trump? " Her response: "yes, because Trump is a monster whom you've embraced". Any attempt to show her the receipts disproving that claim resulted in a bizarre display of childish behavior. We've all observed a tactic young children use to not hear mom or dad say "no". They'll cover their ears and make annoying noises to drown out the "no, you can't do that and here's why" coming from their mom or dad. She just talks over me; if I try to exceed her tone, she raises it until she's nearly apoplectic with her anger and rage.

Fortunately, she and I co-signed on the lease, and she's not able to evict me with the help of the police. She can legally do nothing against me, but I know she would if she could. All this, coming from a person who claimed she loved and respected me before she knew about me and my disgusting love affair with a brutal dictator. "But he's Hitler! He hates women, and if you support him, you do, too!" In case you were wondering, I did not once take the bait. I did not rail against her for her consciously chosen evil. I did not argue. I simply listened, remained calm despite being drenched with her vile poisonous vomit, and when it was over, went to bed and slept like a baby. Because now I know the path forward. My experiences with her, with "sleeping in the same house as the enemy", point me in a specific direction.

Because my room mate is an attractive, smart-enough type of woman who loves her adult children and her pets. She gets up every day and goes to work. She commits random acts of kindness from time to time, un-asked for and always thoughtful and considerate. I've known her for over two years now. So when I see her consumed by her irrational hatred, fueled by Leftist talking points, I feel my own rage. Not against my room mate, but against the people pushing and encouraging her to destroy herself in hatred for an innocent man. It's staggering to see this right in front of me, in my own home. This is what the people working for the media machine accomplish with their numerous lies, reported as facts. They kill, they destroy, they torture. A deranged individual hears their lies, and tries to shoot and kill Trump.

About a week or two ago, ads started showing up on X and YouTube. The organization behind this ad campaign to get veterans to vote is called the Vet Voice Foundation. Recently I discovered that the Vet Voice Foundation is also sending out flyers via snail mail, so I got curious as to who these people are at the Vet Voice Foundation. I just wanted too see who it is that thinks trying to shame people into voting is right.

A simple Google search reveals that Vet Voice filed a lawsuit against an attempt to reform the voting process in Washington State. The Stranger, a Seattle based left wing news outlet (print and on-line), wrote a sympathetic piece about this lawsuit. So, the people using shame tactics to get veterans to vote are Leftists. Yet another example of their lunacy.

If You Want Me to Send You Something, Use Email!!!

Ah, the many insights brought about by my experience working in a call center! It's been an overall positive experience, even with the occasional "problem" customer calling in from time to time. This is because it has given me a window in which I can see and even study human behavior. Why should I, or anyone else, want to study and observe human behavior? For me, the answer is to better understand the huge mystery which is myself and my behaviors, and, to be an effective call center employee.

Today, I'm focusing on one fairly common type of customer: the ones who do not have email addresses by conscious, deliberate choice. This choice reflects their displeasure in having to learn how to operate a computer interface, much like the resentment a lot of people feel about having to learn a new language. I, too was annoyed back in the seventies when they were pushing the metric system on Americans. "Why should I change, the system we have works just fine. Let the Europeans adopt our system, instead!" was how my thinking went, and I should point out that I was in my late teens during the seventies. Although nearly all the people who eschew email are older folks, in their sixties and up, this psychological phenomenon of avoiding unpleasant, albeit necessary tasks is common to us all. I believe no one likes to admit this openly-fuck email, I ain't got the time to figure it out-because it makes them seem weak, or even ridiculous to others. Instead, they summon the fog of arrogance and self-satisfaction (smugness in the extreme) and demand that I, the serf, send them a confirmation letter via snail mail. I can not exaggerate how nearly insufferable these folks are, because in essence they are demanding that the company I represent pay for their refusal to learn how to use email. Sending out letters via snail mail (what used to be called just "the mail", or the "US Postal Service") is costly, in time, labor and materials. I believe that some companies are willing to make this effort for their technology-adverse customers, and I'm sure no one at my company wants to alienate them, and lose their business. So, how do you deal with customers who demand x, which is possible only if they have an email address, and impossible otherwise? What if your company doesn't have the means to send via snail mail? It's fairly easy, albeit annoying in itself: sympathize and empathize, and offer to help them set one up, anyway? Any effort on my part to lecture them on their Luddite stupidity-or, appeal to reason- will only make them double down. They're stubborn people who simply think they have better use of their precious time than learning email, a new language or measuring system, et al. It's not that they're bad people. It's that they're set in their ways, and will not knuckle under any sort of pressure to conform. I understand this attitude, and admire it to some extent, although I can not endorse it while I am working. Learn how to pick your battles, people. I distrust the way technology has made us all dependent on the devices out there. If you think not, wait until you lose your smart phone and have to collect a paycheck or two to replace it. I understand where you're coming from, but let me ask you, is this a battle worth fighting? Because everywhere you go, people resist you, hinder you and even ridicule you. Not because you eschew email, nor even because you're just lazy, but because you demand that people-the world-cater to your irrational refusal to use email. Or any tech that actually improves your life. So carry on, you folks who hate technology, but know this: what you refuse to see only gets bigger and bigger. It only becomes more of a problem, until you confront it and overcome it.

By this time, many of you have seen the "word salad" responses Kamala Harris has given to interviewers. She does not answer questions, she rambles incoherently...a lot. Then there's her blatant, almost gleeful lying about everything. Her constant attacks on Trump and his supporters serves as a cover for her incompetency, a play directly taken from the Democrat Party playbook. She has reversed her position on various topics, but refuses to explain why, giving instead insulting and at times condescending word-salad answers to simple questions. Is she a serious candidate? Why is she running? What exactly are the Democrats offering America with Kamala Harris, and that pervert Walz? Satisfaction for Trump haters? Vengeance on Trump and his supporters?

The Democrat Party is offering a vapid airhead, and a pervert, as the leaders of America going forward. Unfortunately, going forward for them is killing Donald Trump, jailing his supporters, and then going back to destroying the country in the name of socialism. Harris' web site is filled with promises of goodies she'll give you and your people if you, and they, vote for her. She does not explain how she will pay for these goodies, nor does she say how her programs would actually be implemented. There's a list of her many lies on her campaign web site, most of them so absurd that it makes me wonder: what the hell is going on with the Democrat Party? Do they think people are so stupid that they would believe her lies? Yes! She's promising legal weed, and money, for black men if they vote for her! WTF? Weed and money? Are they deliberately sabotaging Harris for some other purpose? How can anyone believe her campaign is serious? There seems to be a darker agenda here, and it's not with Kamala Harris. I believe she's a puppet of some bad actors amongst the American and world elites, and I also believe, like Elon Musk, that if Trump gets elected, a lot of the high profile pedophiles listed in the Epstein client list are going down. Furthermore, if Trump wins, what exactly happened in the 2020 election will be revealed for all to see. Everyone knows it was stolen from Trump, everyone knows he's being persecuted for political reasons-the Democrat Party leaders are culpable, and must be held responsible. The fetid stench of the rotting corpse that is the Democrat Party will finally be laid to rest, and perhaps the light of freedom and prosperity will re-enter the American political landscape.

THE NATIONAL ELECTION IS A MONTH AWAY, and I should check the progress of that storm out in the gulf. Although I am living outside the forecasted impact cone of the storm, I know it could head straight here. That would be tomorrow, but this morning, I am thinking about the upcoming Presidential elections, the unreliability of any and all news sources, the January 6th incident, the 2020 elections, and Israel.

I get news from the same places the rest of the world gets it: from various sites on the Internet, and word of mouth. The same information that informs my opinions on political, cultural and social issues is the same information everyone with an Internet connection has. I see Donald Trump as a great leader of men; others see him as a despicable villain. Both of us are forming our opinions based on what we read online. There are many true stories and anecdotes out there-and his record as President- that clearly show Trump is an effective, competent leader worthy of praise and re-election. There are many stories that falsely claim Trump is an evil, bad person, as well. I look at both sides, and I find the evidence for Trump's basic humanity convincing. He is not a monster, he is not a dictator, he is not a misogynist, he's not a criminal-he's an extremely competent, talented leader. His record as President shows a low unemployment rate across the board, a booming economy, and withdrawal of US troops from unnecessary foreign wars.

So why do you hate Donald Trump so much? Since you hate him, and I admire and like him, I will assume that you hate me, too, for having the temerity to support such an evil man. Only he is not evil, he's a great choice to be US President, and the evidence is slowly gathering momentum that the 2020 elections were rigged in Biden's favor. More and more people are realizing this, but are they enough to stop you? Because stopping, defeating your political agenda-getting rid of Trump at all costs-has become an existential matter for America. I realize that everyone from both sides says this during an election, but take a look around you: the world is on fire. Iran just lobbed over a hundred ballistic missiles at Israel, our southern border is being over-run by hundreds of thousands of people, a small (but significant) percentage of whom have criminal records, the cost of living has increased dramatically, and crime is up all across America. So why do you hate Trump? I know why: because he's competent, successful, wealthy, and brilliant. In her many articulate essays on the matter, Ayn Rand called this psychological phenomenon hatred of the good, for being the good. It is a clear marker indicating such a person is an ideologue or a cult member. This is envy, and it causes a lot of suffering for all involved. Since there is no "proof" that Trump is a bad, evil person deserving of death rather than the Presidency, and since you get your news from the same places I do, it is clear to me that you made the conscious choice to hate this man anyway. Despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, you hate Trump in much the same way others hate Israel. Despite the fact that over a thousand innocent Israelis- men, women and children (babies, too) were brutally murdered, raped and tortured in their homes, they-your ideological brothers- march in the streets supporting Hamas. In these two things-Trump hatred and Jew hatred-there is a lot in common. The people of the lie-that there is no God, that personal pleasure is the only worthwhile endeavor, that morality is all relative, and that their feelings are primary-have found a demon (Jews/Trump/MAGA) to blame all the bad in the world on. Yes, it is becoming increasingly obvious: the people supporting killers and terrorists who block traffic and tear down posters of kidnapped Israelis, are being egged on by the people who have everything to lose should Trump win. Can you say Ukraine? It's all going to come out, if Trump wins.

I SAY I BELIEVE IN SOMETHING, or I display a flag in front of my house, and you tell me you're offended by these things. Well, do you really think I should care that you are offended? What do you want me to do about it? Change my behavior to suit you? Die? Do you even see me as a a sovereign individual? Perhaps you think I should care about your offense because you might inflict dire consequences, or perhaps you think you're more important than you really are? It's strange, this obsession with not offending people. It's taken a firm hold on our culture, up to the point where in some countries people are jailed for being offensive. Anyone who tries to manipulate people- through fear of the consequences of offending them- are classic malignant narcissists, and many of them are also tyrants. These sorts of people are the ones always demanding to speak to the manager for even the most trivial of slights. They are the ones who are offensive, in the true meaning of the word; they cause displeasure or resentment. This fetid self-centeredness and the total lack of awareness of others is very uncomfortable to watch. Here's what it boils down to: constantly offended people think they deserve a value (discounts, line jump, et al) not because they deserve it, but because they're offended and will have you cancelled if you don't.

I know who you are, I understand that you hate everything. When something good happens, you seek to destroy it. You truly believe it is OK to lie to get what you want. I see you frequently at work, with your perverse exaggerated sense of self-worth, making strident demands, blocking traffic, disrupting the lives of those around you and your smell. I know that there is no love in you at all for anything, including your self, because what you feel is a massive emptiness inside that only serves to remind you how you destroyed your soul by embracing such hatred. I would help you if I could, but I know you don't want help, and I also know without any doubt that you would kill me if you could get away with it. No, you are wholly and existentially evil, and beyond redemption-most of you don't believe in God, the real one-and so your life becomes hellish, what you are doing is slowly killing you. But you don't care, and I know it. You filthy sick bastards cheered on the brutal killing of women and children watching TV in their homes, you support the monsters who perpetrated this, and some of you are the ones who stridently demand to see the manager whenever an employee struggling to make ends meet says "no" to you, for any reason. And why do you do this? That's between God and you. My job is not to placate you, to understand you, not to help you in any way, but to discredit you, by exposing your hideously evil depravity. My First Experience as an Employee Facing a Karen

and why I forgive her

THIS IS AN ACCOUNT of what happened during my first verifiable encounter with a so-called "Karen" at work. Some background: I work at a big box home improvement store in Savannah, GA, as a customer service/sales associate. So,

First, what is a "Karen"?

Basically, it's the type of person who demands to speak to the manager, after you politely tell them "no, ma'am" to a flagrantly unreasonable demand. It's a person who appears/comes across as excessively entitled, or excessively demanding, who approaches interactions with others from a self-centered view. For example, my "Karen" could plainly see that I was actively involved with helping another customer, yet demanded in the middle of all this, interrupting, that I account to her why she had to wait so long. My response was clear, and spoken in a tone I remember as neutral, apologizing to her for being understaffed and promised her she was next. At this point, she started with her Karen act, accusing me of all sorts of wicked characteristics. While I was helping another customer! As her rant continued, it became difficult to talk with my good customer, who thankfully did not lose her patience as I tried to stem off this encounter with the overly-demanding, entitled customer. Nothing worked to calm her down, and I clearly remember the self-satisfied smirk on her face when I tried to diplomatically tell her it wasn't fair to the customer I was helping at the time. When I realized she was talking over me, ignoring everything, I had to make a decision-how to best serve the customer in front of me, the "good" one-so I tried calling security (which we do not have, per se. My employer does not hire security guards). Karen's infantile rant was affecting the other customer in front of me, effectively making it impossible to communicate with her. This is a crisis of service: you are trying to serve as best you can to serve the person in front of you, but the obnoxious entitled customer is making this nearly impossible. Even the good customer had to stop what she was doing with me, and asked the Karen to please be patient. What did I do? Did I handle the situation professionally, or was I not? She started to pick apart the things I told her, always from a "me, me, me" perspective. I set my mind to focus, ignoring her as best as I could, and managed to help my customer and send her away happy-and all the while, Karen was filming me and my customer on her phone-with that same smug look on her face, loudly demanding the manager (immediately!). As I've said, the real customers were served well and eventually management showed up and attempted to mollify the Karen (still filming, warning of dire social media consequences for telling her no), and the incident-about fifteen minutes-ended and the day went on. My good customer and some of my co-workers actually expressed their support for how I handled it.

Why do I remember this so clearly and even vividly? One simple reason is situations like this force my employer to ask themselves if I am suitable to be employed there. No one wants a waiter who is rude to customers, no one wants a cashier who is abrupt and dismissive of customers, etc. Understandable, but in this case, I was not approached by management afterwards. So I feared for my job a bit, because that's what happens when you lose your composure on a customer, and I admit, I almost did, and probably gave out body language and tone to this effect. Thankfully, I became aware of my rising internal temperature right away, and handled it the best I could. Final outcome: 1. The good customer was sent away happy; 2. the Karen was not; 3. I am sick to my soul with a horrible pity and sorrow for these people, these entitled, malignantly narcissistic individuals who act precisely like infants and small children.

What happened to them that their personal growth was halted in early childhood? I have experienced what it looks like when a young child does not get his way: if you try to explain why you are saying "no", they will put their hands over their ears, or try to not hear you by screaming or making loud noises over and over again. This is what you looked like to me, Karen, and to everyone else present at the time. Are your children ashamed of you? Don't you find your alienation from others distressful? Listen, I know who you are, because I've been just like you, believing that I am the legendary center of the Universe and that I have rights to the unearned. Nothing mattered but me but me (and I had an ideology to back it up), and as it happened, that didn't work out very well.

Karen, I am required to forgive you for this, and so I will do it. But if the canon of my service philosophy is to help everyone, regardless of anything at all, except one: those who are deliberately evil, those whose sense of superiority and entitlement negatively affects others, I will not serve you. In fact, I'd send you out the door on your ear, never to return. No, on second thought, because that's like putting problems you can't solve on other people. Instead, I will learn how to help you. You need it, although you don't know it yet.

Morning Reflections, 9/5/2024

Oh boy, we're now well into September, looks like the weather is just now starting to cool down. I am writing this in Savannah, Georgia, where summers can be hot as well as humid- every day. My friend is excited at this recent cooling trend, as she can leave her patio door open all the time. She and I just moved into a new apartment; our old one was getting annoying so we found a new place. Anyway, I've been thinking that the more I read Dr. Peterson's work (he's a famous clinical psychologist), and the more I understand the nuances and variations of human psychology, the more I understand myself.

It's interesting that in 12-step programs such as AA, NA, et al, this principle of understanding others is stressed as crucial to success in their program. They say if you point your finger at someone, you have your other fingers pointing back at you. Try it, it's an apt comparison, and it makes a good point. Don't criticize others if you are essentially the same as they are, if you are capable, and likely, to act in the same manner as they do. Dr. Peterson points out that if you think you wouldn't have been a concentration camp guard working for the Nazis, that anyone who does so is evil, then think twice. What if you had a wife and children you loved, and taking this "job" is the only alternative to starvation? I've often thought that I'd never participate in the rape, slow torture, and murder of innocent people. Who wouldn't? But I never say I am incapable of evil, that I am so good that I'd never think of it, not once, not ever...and then, the choice is my entire family's destruction, or a concentration camp job brutally torturing innocents, and then what do I do? Let my wife and kids starve so I can have a clear conscience? Flee, you say? In Nazi Germany, many people were so poor that they couldn't travel across town, let alone flee the country. So what Peterson is saying is, think twice before claiming moral virtue in comparison with others. Why? because you have better, more important things to do then "taking someone's inventory".

Consequences of Malevolence, Part One

People sometimes speak with fake authority whenever they are discussing insects, disease and germs. Over the years, I've heard that bedbugs can fly, carry diseases, and can not be fully eradicated. I've also heard that food that's fallen to the floor won't be contaminated right away (usually they say 5 seconds), that you can get germs from sitting on a public toilet seat, that you can prevent Covid infection by wearing a mask...all said by individuals expressing absolute certainty, acting (and fully believing), as if they have the final answer. This reminds me of the more passionate climate change/global warming alarmists, who believe with typical absolutism that Man is causing it, and must be stopped. It's like saying 2+2=5, not only building your entire world view on that false premise, but requiring others to agree, and actualizing it with passion and conviction.

As for the mask mandates from the recent past, the same people who were pushing this on us were the same people who shamed and penalized people for not complying. It's one thing to shame people with mere words and accusations if their behavior endangers others. It's an entirely different thing when it's obvious masks don't work, but you require their use anyway, and punish the refuseniks. People lost their jobs, careers, homes and family over this issue, and all the while the Covidians were actively expressing their fake moral superiority and concern for humanity, by defending the mandates and lockdowns. Both of which were unnecessary, and ineffective.

Compounding this evil is the smug, sanctimonious, hostile, and condescending manner in which these people deal with those who disagree with them. They are so falsely convinced that their ideology is the one true ideology, and all others must be eradicated, that they feel justified in their evil. They act on a false premise, obviously, but what's more, they act from a position of moral superiority. Yes! Regardless of the truths behind the scenes (masks don't work, Jews are not inherently evil, bedbugs can fly, global warming is an immediate emergency, et al), they carry on, because 2+2=5. Because they said so.

Then there's the bizarre "Queers for Palestine" movement, showing how deadly it can be to act in defiance of reality (homosexuals are legally killed by Muslim radicals). There's the even more grotesquely bizarre phenomenon of men dressed as women reading to children in public libraries, and men competing against women in sports. Whenever something like this happens in a culture, when respect for truth and taboo loses to respect for feelings, that culture collapses and disappears.

I Remember

I remember your smug, sanctimonious preaching to me that I should wear a mask, for the safety of my society, my city, my community. Because it's the right thing to do. I remember you saying things like unvaccinated people should be refused medical treatment, or even allowed to die. I remember you requiring children to mask up, even young infants. I remember the businesses closed down as "non-essential", while liquor stores, well-connected businesses, and porn shops stayed open. I remember your willful lies, told under the guise of public safety. I remember being forced to wear a mask at work, or lose my job. You had a load of self-righteousness to inflict me on to me, and the rest of the world. I shall not forget, and I'm sure everyone else will, too.

Yet you say you had good intentions. That's a lie, too. From the very beginning, it was well known that Covid is mostly non-lethal (except for those with co-morbidities), and that masks do not work to prevent the spread. Cloth masks have natural pores wide enough for the virus to pass though. When some people with a voice strong enough to be heard mentioned this, you doubled down and said that people should wear more than one mask.

I remember you dancing in the street in celebration after more than a thousand innocent Israelis were murdered, raped, and tortured. You still march in support of people who did this. You are so wrongly convinced that your cause is just that you block people from going about their lives. You disrupt the civil order, commit crimes against others, and harass random people whom you think are Israelis. I remember you glorifying George Floyd, and supporting the jailing and destruction of police officer Derek Chauvin. It's been proven that Floyd died from the amount of drugs in his system, not because of Officer Chauvin's actions. An innocent man sacrificed to advance your agenda, as if he were nothing but a tool.

I remember your smug disdain for Donald Trump and his supporters, as if they were deplorable. A man who pulled America out of war in the Middle East, and helped make a lot of people (myself included) prosperous. Unemployment, inflation and useless wars were all down way low during Trump's presidency, but yet, you act like he's Hitler. But yet, you support what is now an obvious plot to destroy Donald Trump, starting with the stolen election. Now you chortle with glee that an innocent man has been wrongly convicted of a felony.

I see you arresting people and sentencing them to prison for protesting in front of abortion clinics, as if there was some kind of inviolate right to kill an innocent child...

I read some where that the only way to defeat evil people is to confront them and fight them with every ounce of strength I can muster. I agree, and I will fear no evil anymore. I will fight it, because I remember.

Pro-abortionists: You Sanction Murder for Convenience

1. There was never a "right" to abortion in the US Constitution, neither explicit nor implicit. A right to kill an unborn child? Where in this document does it say this is OK, or that abortion is a right that the government should defend?

2. In the case of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, many people feel that the woman-or girl- involved should not be saddled with carrying such a burden and restriction on their lives. Time and money at her expense, an interruption of her life, etc., etc., as well as the psychological damage this might cause her. All of these arguments simply state that a human being born from rape or incest does not have the right to live, if the mother so chooses. Of course all of this is horrible, a hideous thing to happen to a woman or girl. Does that mean that the baby should die? The pro-choice people say "yes".

3. In the case when a pregnancy is endangering the life of the mother for medical reasons, an exception should be made. The only exception. All of the research I've done on this has shown me that such a danger is rare, but exists nevertheless for certain females. Despite this fact, pro-choicers wail "you can't outlaw abortions! What if the mother will die, if she carries to term?" Answer? Yes, we can, but only if all measures to protect the mother and the unborn baby have been tried, or medically deemed necessary to save the mother's life. Again, this doesn't happen very often, and should not be used as a justification for making all abortion legal.

4. Need this be said? The unborn baby is not the mother's body, but a separate individual possessing a body of his own, who happens to live inside the body of the mother for 9 or so months.

5. Per science, an individual's life begins when a sperm successfully combines with an egg, and development begins. In other words, at conception. Any other line drawn here is mostly self-serving, for if you can say a human being's right to live begins when they're born into the world, you can also claim it begins at any point, including age 5, when the child becomes an adult, at 3 months, etc.

6. Abortion is a form of birth control, like the pill or any other method. Those who scream vociferously about "It's my body!", "Keep your laws of my uterus", etc., simply want to have casual sex without consequences.

So go ahead and spew your evil bile, demanding a right to murder a child for any reason whatsoever.

While Trump was president, America prospered. We withdrew from useless wars abroad. America had real deterrence power all over the world. The southern border was secured. Russian and Chinese aggression was kept in check. Unemployment in America reached an all-time low.

Trump was one of the most successful and effective Presidents in American history. Trump is also one of the most successful and effective leaders in world history. His record demonstrates this unequivocally. Millions of people love and respect him for his leadership, and policies.

When you read what follows, keep all of what you just read in the background, as context for the larger picture:

The Police State and Banana Republic

Under the illegitimate administration of Joe Biden, Trump was and is now being prosecuted (by corrupt prosecutors) for crimes he did not commit. They raided his home using a laughable pretext, in a show of force.

Several states have moved to ban him from their ballots. That means that all the people in those states who support Trump, who like his policies and America first agenda, cannot vote for him. The stated reason for this is Trump's participation in an insurrection-the infamous January 6 incident(s) at the US Capitol building in DC. Despite a lot of video evidence proving Trump did not incite an insurrection, the Trump haters falsely assert that he did, and so is ineligible to run for President, per the 14th Amendment. Never mind Trump was never charged nor convicted of insurrection, and that he is on record as encouraging the protestors to be peaceful. Also, are we to ignore the near certainty that this so-called insurrection was actually staged by people who hate Trump and his supporters? There is a lot of evidence out there to suggest that this happened, that January 6th was staged, in an effort to intimidate Trump supporters. Despite all of this, the Trump haters are pushing forward with their attempts to destroy Trump both as a human being, and as a viable political candidate.

Although the actual numbers are most likely quite higher, Trump received over 75 million individual votes in the 2020 election. That's a lot of people whom the lefties hate, to say the least. Who are the people who support Trump? People who want America to be prosperous and strong. People who want an environment where they can raise a family in security and abundance. Normal, ordinary people who work diligently for a living. Almost none of those people support the Lefty lunacy spreading across the country at an accelerating rate. Men competing against women, because surgery, chemicals, and say so. Children encouraged and assisted in having their body parts cut off, in the name of “gender affirmation”. The constant, annoying promotion of sexual deviancy. The encouragement-and rise-of criminality. The DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) agenda at work. The rewriting of history to suit the lunatic lefty’s ideology. The tribalism and out right hatred taught in elementary, middle and high schools. The attacks on boys and men, the assertion that racism is everywhere, intrinsic, and “systemic”. Most Americans-Republicans and Democrats-want none of this, especially the evil shit that harms and endangers children. So, who could be against Trump, who has done so much good? Well, who could support the Hamas monsters, who would feel justified in blocking traffic and bringing entire cities to a standstill? All in support of terrorists who murdered, tortured, raped and kidnapped innocent people? Answer: evil people.

So do you see? Evil people can only destroy; most of them love only themselves and feel righteous about it, and want to rule the survivors of Armageddon in the ruins. Or they believe that if they negotiate well, the terrorists will kill them last. In the end, what I remember is the glee, the vindictiveness and spite of Joe Biden and his administration, as they proceeded to destroy civilized society, so their ideology can rule forever after they rebuild. The same sort of mindset as the Hamas butchers-and their Palestinian supporters- who celebrated the destruction of over 1,000 innocent people.

Looks to me like it’s not too late to stop them. Now that you know the nature of the battle, it is imperative that you take a stand. The root of this rampant evil is in the universities. In my humble opinion, we should remove federal funding from them all. The states should ban DEI, critical race/gender theory, and exposing children to deviant, overtly sexual topics in school. Criminality-no matter the rationalization or type- must be strongly discouraged by heavy fines and jail time. All of the people involved in this whole sleazy affair should be fired from their jobs, and in the extreme cases, go to jail. Let there be serious consequences for corruption of any type. CEOs of any company found to be guilty of censorship should also be jailed for years, and fined.

Recovery and Geographical Change

One day, it happened that I noticed I was living permanently in a beautiful place, in an area of town I adore with all the elements of my dreams of such matters, dreams going back to the middle 1980s and beyond. In fact, that day is today, Christmas Eve at my home, and all is well with everything, including my family and health. As usual, I did not take the time to truly appreciate what I had come to in my life. I looked around me and was astounded that I had, in fact, succeeded in this area of my long and eventful life. I was living my dream. I had arrived.

But...

I wasn't very happy at all. I was at the perfect geographical location, and I still was eaten up inside by many things, mostly negative emotions related to my past. Leave town, again? Where could I go to, to relieve the pressure of having to actually continue to stay sober? To a more "tropical" area, so I could sleep out at night? Back to my home town, so I could answer Rosanne Cash's question: "...so who does your past belong to today, baby? Across the globe to the Philippines, so I could learn Tagalog?

And so, the point is:

It doesn't matter where you are living; what matters is how you live in that world. Also, no matter how successful you are in your life, no matter your sobriety, you will still experience the full range of negative emotions-and human malevolence. You will still need to stay sober, and that should be easy enough after continuing practice, no matter where you are.
