The Hardest Post I'll Ever Write

It's been four months and it still hurts. Most days the feeling goes away or my day starts normal but it always goes to the same place, what if it didn't happen? How could I be so horrible? Why did I make this happen? It's that dark secret that no one talks about but a lot of people go through and I'm going to share my own story because I'm tired of silence.

In June this year after a stressful move and a bout of depression so bad I was on medication I noticed something a little off. My period had been late for the first time since Jon was bored, I was tired, cranky, sick all the time, and most importantly my tummy was starting to look a little more round than usual.

The test was negative and I shrugged it off and kept about my life. But the feeling that something wasn't right just wouldn't leave. Another negative test a week later and I decided it was time to see the doctor. Negative urine test but the doctor agreed, the symptoms were clear and we'd need a blood test to make sure.

While I waited for a chance to get it done, and had another negative test, I decided enough was enough. It had to be negative right? No way four tests were wrong and worrying over it wasn't making me feel much better. I resumed taking my antidepressants and treated myself to a drink one night. I decided to let my one year old climb on my tummy like he used to. All attempts at keeping a fetus safe were throw out the window.

But it wasn't enough to act like the negative was true. Ever had a feeling inside that you couldn't shake? A feeling like you know something is going on regardless of all the signs telling you you're wrong? I should have listened to it.

It was late August when I bought the last test. It was late August that I saw it go positive. It was two days later that I felt it. I was at the mall when the cramps hit. It was a wave of pure pain followed by a distinct empty feeling. A hospital trip later assured me it was "fine".

It wasn't fine. 10 days of heavy bleeding and one passes baby later I went to the doctor to confirm that my fears were in fact correct. August 29th I lost the baby. On August 29th I spiraled into a storm of self loathing so strong that nothing made it better. Not my son. Not reading or writing.

I felt like I was a murderer. It was my body, my baby, my fault. I spent hours picturing my life with the new baby. How would Jon react? Would it have been a girl or boy? What would it look like? Over and over and over until I didn't feel like a person anymore. It was a feeling of guilt above all else.

I feel like a lot of parents that go through this feel this way and I need to say something really important, It's not your fault. It took me months to realize it. Agnoizing months of beating myself up and shutting myself away. It's really important to know that it's not anyones fault and it happens. So many women go through it and yet when I did I felt so alone.

It's been months and I still think about the little life I loss. I remember feeling it move and spending long nights saying to Riley 'But what if the test was wrong". Nights of telling myself I was wrong not the tests. But it's not my fault and if you go through it it's not yours either.

Explosion of Anger and Curse Words.

It all started with a goddamn diaper genie. The source of my mother fucking problems is the size of a small child and exists to dispose of baby shit. What is this about you may ask? Welcome to Dandie's Story hour where I greet the world with a great big fuck you.

It's been one hell of a week. It started last night when my son was up all night throwing up because teething, that's a thing, So we were up until roughly 8am before he fell asleep, not too bad right? Wrong. It was Mother's Day here, the corporate holiday that exists to make mom's feel like they're worth it, and my sister decided to ditch me and go to my mom's on her own making me look like a massive dick and her look great!

Then the topping on the shit cake happened. There was a knock on the door so naturally fiance answered. The landlords decided they had to come in to clean up water that had spilled in our house, I'll get to that in a second, and wouldn't listen to us saying that we could get it.

The next thing that happened is so fucked that I can't even put into words my anger and frustration. After trying to ask to come in and that failed landlord decided to force his head into my house to look around and flipped shit, seriously hell opened under his feet and demons poured onto us.

He saw a pack of diapers and flipped shit about diapers being out, he saw a grocery bag and flipped about that, he threw our garbage cans, and then the crowning fucking moment, he pushed fiance to try and get into my goddamn house without our consent. Standing his ground fiance told him that's not legal and to please stop.

This is where the diaper genie comes in. After seeing our empty garbage cans this conversation (roughly) followed

Him: What, are our garbage cans not good enough?
Fiance: No they're fine but we use a diaper genie and when that's full we move it into the cans outside
Him: That's not a real thing
Fiance: You've never heard of it?
Him: No
Fiance: Oh. It's a container for diapers that seals the bag and has baking soda to block the smell
Him: It's not real
Fiance: ...Yes it is.
Him: You're lying and I'm talking to my wife about evicting you.

What in the ever living fuck is wrong with this man? Please explain to me where all the dirty diapers are going if they aren't going in the diaper genie that I can see right in front of me. Into the fucking air? That's right I forgot, I went to Hogwarts and asked them how to make diapers disappear. I'm a fucking wizard.

Now back to the whole reason this goddamn thing happened, the water. How in the fuck did he know there was water on the floor? Is he Superman? Of course not because Superman could see the fucking diaper genie because his x-ray vision isn't down for repairs. Did he guess? That's an oddly specific guess. I'm at a complete fucking loss as to how he knew that there would be water there unless he had come into my house. Now this wasn't a lot of water. It was a drop. A drop we didn't even know about until he knocked. He claims it was from pressure washing the cement outside our door. I can't understand this. I really can't.

Look I'm understanding, I'm forgiving to a fault, but all I can say to this assnugget is fuck you. I'm being evicted because you don't believe in diaper genies and that's fucked. You take it back? Go fuck yourself. You say sorry? Go fuck yourself. I'm done.

Happy Holidays to all you lovely people out there =D. Hope it was filled with lots of love and great food.

It was baby's first christmas so naturally it was hectic as all hell. Figuring out where to go and when and how long.

Second note of this post, because I can't really say much more on Christmas without going into a full on rant about babies and family and all that jazz, I am a terrible boss. Seriously.

As many you probably don't know writing here is my current job and I am terrible at it. Not the writing part, my writing is good, I'm talking about the part of the job where I tell myself in an angry gruff voice "GET BACK TO WORK!"

The manly gruff voice DOES tell me to work but the easily distracted and procrastinator side is like "Work? NEVAR! =D"

Then months down the line between posts I really I have a thousand and one brainstormed ideas that I can write about but can't because now they're all scattered and I can't remember what they mean.

Then the manly angry voice says "Seee?! I told you to work you dumbass" and then I go into a cry spiral of sadness and write a post off the top of my head that is mediocre but good enough and tell myself that this time I will stick to a post schedule and I will post weekly. Has that worked out? Nope. Will it? Probably not.

So instead of promises to write more I'm just going to draw you guys a picture and you'll love it and it will be your bestfriend until it spontaneously explodes because I told them too. They're my minions you see and I tricked you all! =D Here's your picture:

Holy Feathers Batman

It's currently 7:41am where I am and I haven't slept yet. I've been up all night and my body is exhausted but it's decided that self sabotage last night was a great plan and to just not sleep. Why not sleep now that you're sure that you'll pass out as soon as your head hits the pillow? Because I have a doctors appointment at 9:40am and seriously what's the point in less than 2 hours of sleep?

So like any good blogger I'm going to document my day, when I can, for you lovelies. Because you're all awesome and I love you <3.

Currently I am really flapping hyper and jittery and wide awake and sleepy and jesusfuckingchristbrainslowthefuckdown. Baby is asleep, husband is asleep and I just had a bath with pure cold water because my landlords are normal humans and they're waking up for work and used it all.

So I'm fucking cold and my hair is drippy and this coffee is probably twice as strong as I'm supposed to make it so let's start this gosh darn day!

For those of you that are still here, that still read every post and look forward to new ones, thank you so much. To those of you that are new here, welcome. I'm sorry for the lack of posts. It's been a rough time for me and it's hard to remember that there's this website to post on.

The thing is life is kicking my ass. I'm a mother that can't look after her son because I'm constantly sick and that puts a huge damper on parenting. I'm a writer struggling with writers block. It's like my creativity is trapped in a box and it can't get out. I'm a human that is struggling with the idea of my life being frail, the realization that I'm not immortal.

The truth of the matter is I'm stuck. Stuck in a storm cloud feeling lost and alone and afraid, feeling confused and trying so hard to get out. I've been lost for months now. It's not easy feeling like every direction is more blackness and no matter where you turn you can't find yourself.

The world feels empty and even when I'm near people I feel a million miles away. My family keeps me grounded and I am forever grateful for that, I just need to overcome this whatever this is.

I will fight through it, for my son and my family but most importantly for myself. The journey has been long and god knows it hasn't been easy. It's an uphill battle but I will fight until the fog clears. Please bare with me until then.

This Is Me.

Lately a lot of people have had problems with me and made false assumptions on who I am, not only as a person but as a mother. The truth I'm complicated. I've never had so many people trying to figure out who I am without actually getting to know me. So here it is:

I have OCD. I like things my way or I panic. The dishes have to be organized by color, the clothes folded a certain way, my clothes on the left, husband's on the right. Pictures need to be straight. My socks can't match. I check the locks 3 times before bed and make sure there's no knives out.

My favorite colors change daily. My nails are never all the same color, my hair is never a natural shade of anything. I'm not shy or antisocial but I prefer to view the world in silence than to actually interact much. I can come off as standoffish but I promise I'm not.

I never judge people without knowing them. I'm easily frustrated. If it were an option I'd live in books because reality hurts too much. I spend more time in my own head than I do in the real world and that tends to frustrate people.

The way I feel about anything is subject to change in a matter of seconds leading to frustration for everyone. I'm a mess. OCD or not my house always seems to find it's way into a lovely state of organized chaos and that's just how I like it.

Labor was painless and I could do it a hundred more times but come near me with a needle and I will scream. Spiders, moths, clowns, puppets, dolls, little kids, ghosts, demons, and horror movies are among my most irrational fears. Even a case for a horror movie can give me nightmares. I overthink every horror movie and wonder "What if that's real?!"

Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Labyrinth, various actors, and Kingdom Hearts are among my obsessions. I love old books, Dorian Gray is my favorite. I've had a university reading level since grade 6. Books are everything, damage my books and I will imagine a thousand horrible things to say to you that I'd never actually say because I can't be mean.

My son is my life. I live for that sweet little boy and I'd die for him. No matter what I do he comes first, sometimes even at the price of my own health.

Like it or not this is me and I won't change for anyone or anything because at the end of the day what counts is how me, my husband, and my son feel about me.

Nightmares

Lately my sleep has been cursed with horrifying nightmares. They happen more often then they should and since the hospital scare I've been quite uneasy and restless, scared I'll die any moment and lose my son and husband.

So I thought I'd share my most recent nightmare with you all because it left me in hysterics.

It started with me and husband in a town, running from something of unknown origin. I had no idea where we were headed or why all I knew was something was after me. We reached a house and asked for shelter as it was night and cold and they let us in.

My bestfriend showed up shortly after and told us of a festival they had downtown so we set off for that to take our mind off whatever had running. Once we arrived I realized I had left something back at the house so I made my way there on horse back, weirdly enough.

I made my way up the hill and saw a little girl dressed in white with light pink hair standing there talking to herself and as I got closer another figure started to show up. The same little girl but with a black dress, purple hair, and a deeper voice.

It dawned that this was what I was running from so I sped up to the house and heard the deeper voice counting down "10 9 8 7 6 5 4..."

I moved faster and faster, got to the house, ripped open the door as she counted down. I got in the house and she was there. She smiled at me and said "1, times up". Then the house burst into flames.

I know it sounds silly but I promise you guys it was really scary. I blame Silent Hill Revelations.It's oddly reminiscent of the dream Heather has about Alessa. Seriously me, no more scary movies. I don't care how beautiful the actors are.

Notes To The Hospital

Just a quick note before I begin, I was admitted into hospital and after various tests was told I had a potentially life threatening condition called pancreatitis. I was admitted into the hospital for four days and sent home begrudgingly until I have surgery to get my gallbladder out. These are my notes to the staff, patients, and general people at the hospital while I was there.

Dear Nurses,
Last time I checked giving a patient morphine that wasn't doctor ordered or asked for by a patient while they're asleep no less isn't legal. You should probably not do that to anyone else.

Dear Family Doctor,
Thank you for taking the time to make social visits to be sure I was okay. That was sweet and really out of character. Stay awesome.

Dear Elderly Woman in the chair across from me in Emergency,
Thank you for making me a little less lonely while I was there alone. It was nice to have someone to talk to and you were really sweet.

Dear Hospital Staff,
Thanks for the deluxe hallway bed. It was A+.

Dear Crazy Indian Man,
I was told to go into your room to use the bathroom and honestly have no idea what you're shouting at me as I don't speak your language. You frightened me and honestly made me almost pee my pants a few times. It's really not nice to shout. Also you shouted at the nice man in the bed beside you for coughing and that's really uncalled for. You get an F in people skills.

Dear Family Of The Crazy Indian Man,
I was reading a creepy Sherlock story at the time you all decided to stop talking and stare intently at me. Again as I don't speak your language I have no idea as to the context and it was a little creepy. You should not do that to anyone.

Dear Man Sharing a room with crazy Indian man,
I really hope you didn't die. You were nice about my nightly intrusions to borrow your bathroom and last I saw you were being moved after a particularly bad coughing spell. I wish you the best.

Dear Specialist,
Thanks for the camera down my throat. I'm sure it helped somehow but as you didn't talk to me after the procedure or give me instructions for going home or even tell me what you did I'll never know. Also your bedside manner rivals Jack from Lost. Telling a patient "It's safe. Lots of people have it, everyone in this room is having it, though people have been known to bleed a lot after. But it's okay. We usually catch it before they die" is not a good way to calm their nerves. A+ on your skills. Just kidding. F----- See? I can give you false hope too.

And finally,

Dear Me,
I don't care how beautiful Kit Harrington is do not watch Silent Hill. You can't handle scary movies and watching Silent Hill the night before going to the hospital wasn't a good idea. Nurses become a billion times scarier when you're in a pitch black hallway alone with Silent Hill running in your head. Not even the beautifullness of Kit Harrington can calm your fried nerves. You get A+ in dumb.

Baby Story

I don't know if I've made this clear to you guys but I love Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. We made the decision to name a boy Jonathon. We had our appointment to learn the gender of our baby on the first snow we had had all year and learned we were having a baby boy, we took it as a sign. Jon Snow, snowy day, baby boy Jonathon.

It snowed again in March when I went into what we were sure was early labor. We learned that no it wasn't but I would surely have the baby early.

The day was April 11th. It's was 10pm and I had just left the bath when I felt a trickle of liquid running down my legs and had no idea what was going on. A trip to the hospital and an internal examination told me my water had broken and the next day they would jump start labor.

April 12 1pm I was admitted into the hospital and given oxytocin to start labor before infection set in. 8 hours later I had another examination where they discovered my waters hadn't fully ruptured so they broke them fully.

April 13, Game of Thrones Sunday, 8:20am on the dot Jonathon Conan George was born. A healthy baby boy. 8 pounds 5 ounces, 53cm long =3.

He's magical guys. He's so small and perfect and cute.

The Sucky Miracle Of Pregnancy

A few months ago I had it in my head that I would become the most amazing blogger ever, that I would share my every aspect of growing a baby and post weekly. This has been proven false. I had it in my head that pregnancy would be easy. That I would be one of those cute happy pregnant ladies that every mother tells you about. That it would be this great experience and I would glow and infect people in my over-elated baby growing state.

The truth of the matter is pregnancy sucks. It has it's up points, don't get me wrong, but in general this shit sucks.

The baby is heavy and throws off your balance, everything takes on a new scent, being comfortable is a luxury that now lasts about .5 seconds before baby finds a new way to move to throw that off, back pains, stomach pains, constant hunger, sore feet, a plethora of complications that are both rare and scary....And yet I find myself not able to regret a thing.

Hearing about how horrible everything is makes me think "Why go through it?" Well it's simple. When you get pregnant all that matters is the safety of the baby. The sore back, long painful labor, 9 months of discomfort, all pale in comparison to this person.

It's odd, unnerving, beautiful, miraculous, and special. This pregnancy has been met with a billion complications ranging from ripped muscles to severely low iron. It's caused me to go into what the paramedics could only assume was labor 12 weeks early and made me so dizzy that standing for 5 minutes becomes a chore.

Sure I wish it was easier, that I could be like a girl in a tampon commercial frolicking through fields and hugging kittens, my skin glowing like some heavenly creature inhabits my body. But in the end all of this is worth it. I would rather endure all this suffering and get to hold my son in my arms than be comfortable and tampon commercial worthy with no baby to speak of.

Unlocking The Box

I need to get some things off my chest because if I don't I might go insane pondering it all. It's time to set free what's locked in my head. This will be a serious post.

Update: Just as another warning I am in no way depressed or miserable. I'm simply aimless.

I feel like I'm the captain of a ship floating along in black waters surrounded by nothingness. Everything feels more than a little out of reach and with the baby on the way I'm a bit scared that this feeling will pilot my entire being.

I realize that some of you may not want to hear about how lost I feel but this blog exists as a means for me to step outside of being who everyone wants me to be and step into who I truly am. A way to express how I'm feeling or just ramble on about nothing important just to get it out of my head and into a place where it can float freely.

I can't exactly understand why I feel so lost and stranded. Why it feels like everything is out of reach and I'm slowly sinking. Nothing is really bad where I am or in my life but everything just feels so out of control. Like life is moving forward leaving me behind in it's stupid dust trail to stand there and wonder where all the time went.

Twenty years old, unemployed, holding onto the hopeless dream that one day I can become a writer knowing full well how fruitless that goal is. Hoping someone out there will want to listen to what I write but being unable to properly share it with anyone, it's like a paradox and I have no idea how to solve it.

It's like a cruel game. There's a bunch of routes to go all leading to some form of beneficial conclusion but every step toward a path can lead to someone being upset or hurt. I'm not able to be selfish like that so I stand still in the centre of the crossroads letting all these paths move forward without me, afraid to take a step in any direction for fear of pain, loss, or failure.

I know this sounds like a serious problem and maybe it is in some way but I can sort it out sooner or later. I keep these thoughts usually under lock and key and maintain my cheery “It will all be alright” disposition but currently the pressure of it all is holding me back.

It's an odd sensation, everything is floating off and closing in all at once, it's spinning around me, taunting and teasing me, telling me that if I just step forward and grab it it's mine. Then there's me, sitting in the centre trying to will it all away.

I'm sorry for the seriousness of what I'm posting but I need to get it out. I need to set it free in hopes it can clear my head and leave me to ponder on what to do next.

Moving Sucks When You're Murphy's Law Personified

It all started with an Elvis cup. Okay not really but I wish that was the beginning, in truth that's about the half-way mark. It actually all started with dust. Lots and lots of dust.

Husband and I were getting ready for a move closer to my family doctor and well family for more support and all that jazz. .~~We spent a week doing nothing but packing~~ ~~We spent a week preparing for the move~~ We spent two days of the two weeks we knew about the move actually packing and the rest pretending to pack while in reality I was procrastinating. It's an illness, I can't help it.

My room was a mess. Imagine a tornado, hurricane, earthquake, tsunami all hit at once and that was our bedroom. Our entire floor was coated in a carpet made out of dirty laundry. Like I said, I procrastinate...a lot.

The packing stirred the dust and I inhaled it causing me to choke and be hit with a sudden sharp and immobilizing pain near to where I assume the baby is located. I assumed it was nothing and continued to pack.

The next day was moving day and husband spent the whole morning packing while I laid in bed and swore to him that I couldn't move right and it really hurt. As previously mentioned, I procrastinate which he assumed was the current cause for my lack of help.

We moved in the pouring rain without a tarp for our bed causing it to be soaked. We went shopping and I got Elvis mugs, we got to new house, I sat on the ground, and then I was stuck. The pain crippled me. it didn't matter how I moved the pain was too much to stand and at this point I realized it really was something to worry about.

We called the nurses hotline and were told to get to the hospital immediately because seriously guys this could be something fatal. So away we went.

Five hours in the waiting room and I was finally in the doctor's office. He felt around and said "Well the good news is it will go away on it's own. The bad news is you may have herniated your bladder...and your abdominal wall feels really stretched out, maybe ripped. Just rest it will go away."

It's been a week and I am pleased to say it's betterish now but today I was called by the hospital and told "Remember how we told you this was totally harmless and not something to worry about? Well we assumed you weren't actually sick and just got around to checking your urine sample. So you have a potentially really harmful bacteria in your urine check in with your family doctor kaythanksbai"

I'll update you all later. Good news is baby is fine =D. I'll keep all you lovelies posted as I learn stuff.

Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all my bootiful readers! =D. I hope you all enjoyed your "Day of the Dead" festivities. It's the best day of the year in my opinion, it's the one day of the year where it's appropriate to scare little kids and potentially scar them for life, hopefully not to the latter.

Today I did just that. I put on some face paint and some cute clothes and sat on a bench just glancing at people passing by. It did the trick.

Now to the more pressing matter at hand, firecrackers. I'm all for lighting off the occasional firecracker in celebration but currently it sounds like World War 3 is going on outside my house. Seriously, shrapnel hit the windows.

Do that all you want but remember to be safe and consider of the people around. That's all I'm asking.

Look what's back, another bad luck computer rant! So after breaking two computers last year and going laptopless for a few months I got this little netbook named Mavis.

Mavis is a pro, she can run games that a netbook shouldn't but she has one fatal flaw. Mavis is a virus whore. She likes them, attracts them, sells her body for them. No seriously.

I have no bad habits when it comes to computers. I defragment every two months and virus scan once a week. I don't download sketchy files and avoid sketchy websites yet here I am with an STD ridden netbook roaming the streets for a next virus hit.

Don't believe me? Here's an example. Today I was out all day at appointments, used my laptop for less than 20 minutes on a safe site and then got a warning saying "Ohhai your computer had unprotected sex and now has a trojan!"

Like any responsible computer owner I removed the virus and cleaned the computer. After a restart I found the virus not only back but doubled. Repeat previous step, come back to three of the virus. At my wits end I googled the virus and you know what? It was released today. Today. I swear my laptop just can't help herself. If anyone knows of a laptop rehab center for laptops with STD addictions seriously let me know. She needs help, maybe an intervention....

Pregnancy

Okay so here's the big news for all of you, I'm pregnant, about four months to be exact.

Everyone tells you when you're pregnant it will be a good time, you'll glow and the baby will move and it's special happy fun time. Here's the truth in the matter, it's miserable. I spend almost all day throwing up and all night trying to get comfy with this extra large stomach praying for the day I deliver this bundle of hormones, tears, and poop.

There's also the pills. Two so I stop throwing up the contents of my stomach and one so the baby gets all its vitamins and grows big and strong...Hulk baby? Sorry sorry.

Now don't get me wrong, a large tummy and some puke are nothing compared to the magic of the baby. I really am excited to start this journey, scared shitless, but excited. So I welcome you all to join me on this journey that will be filled with wit and adventures and magical babies!

Today my beloved pet rabbit died. I've posted about her a few times (here and here).

She was my best friend and partner in crime for the better part of 4 years. A cute little bundle of headaches, cuddles, loves, and the occasional scratch or bite.

I loved her and she loved me and we were best bunny buddies =(.

It was old age and I can live with that. She had a good life and a big personality. Never a dull moment with her. She will be missed. Sweet dreams Pepper Pancakes 2009-2013 <3.

My current emotional state can be summed up in one guttural noise, think Kristen Stewart in Twilight. Just a blank zombie expression and a guttural cave man noise. Nice to meet you, I'm Uuug.

Okay in all seriousness I'm back for the most part. Not posting every week back, but back nonetheless.

As a welcome back I think I should dive right into a popular creature that we all love, zombies. They're mindless human eating machines that think brains are quite tasty thank you very much. Lately I've found myself more or less obsessed with the whole "zombie" genre.

Zombie games, movies, books, pictures, mythology, it all fascinates and terrifies me. What would I do in a zombie apocalypse? Would I survive? Would I just end myself before I got torn to shreds by teeth and nails?

The conclusion I reached is simple, I would try to survive and if that failed I'd keep a spare bit of ammo in case I swarmed with no hope of living. Morbid right?

Good moving on. The other plan of attack is to simply run off to a theater and sing Les Miserables music at the top of my lungs until my untimely and not at all called for death. Do you hear the people sing? That's not singing, that's zombies coming to nom your head.
