That Book aims at taking the traditional e-book experience to the next level by including video and audio as alternate methods for consuming the book content.

As a co-founder, I was responsible for (1) full site development, (2) custom payment system with stripe/PayPal/Apple Pay support, and (3) audio/video integration that includes an innovative audio playback solution I came up with called “Audio Content Highlighting”.

Audio Content Highlighting

One of the more exciting aspects to That Book is the “Audio Content Highlighting” feature. By playing the audio, you can easily read along with the author as the page content gets highlighted. This makes the experience come alive as you can see and hear what is being discussed.

epicjobs.co is a twitter-powered job board. As a collaboration project with Danny Petty, epicjobs is targeted at helping people find jobs and get the type of work they’re passionate about (e.g. design, project management, engineering, etc.).

My favorite feature of this site is that all the content is powered by Twitter via job opportunities that were tweeted by hiring managers.

Job Filter System

The most challenging aspect of this project was building the filter system for job listings. Leveraging the custom taxonomy features of WordPress, I developed a method for querying job posts via JavaScript/AJAX so that posts are loaded dynamically onto the page without having to re-load the other content.

RIVYT [riv·et] is an instant landing page generator for video creators. RIVYT can take your Twitch or YouTube channel and automatically create a branded site — in seconds.

As a co-founder, I was responsible for (1) the branding/logo design, (2) the “RIVYT panel” sidebar design/development as well as (3) designing/developing 16 layout options for users to select.

Logo Design

As soon as Jason Schuller and I decided on the name RIVYT, I was very eager to play around with a minimal design idea I had that communicated the simplicity of what we were intending to do with the service.

The “RIVYT Panel”

In addition to logo design, I took on the responsibility of designing and developing the RIVYT Panel, which is the main system used to manage the user’s account, videos, images and text.

fullride.me is a crowdfunding platform where students can list all their education expenses with individual donation goals.

As the founder of this project, I was responsible for (1) all branding/logo design, (2) site design/development, and (3) marketing fullride.me at student-based events.

Drag-to-Donate

To communicate how much of the expense donors are helping with, I came up with an innovative “drag-to-donate” system. This allows users to drag the progress bar of an item to determine how much they want to contribute.

Marketing

I was fortunate to partner with the University of Washington, Bothell. They were very instrumental in the first batch of students that utilized fullride.me.

They gave me access to on-campus events to chat with students and give demonstrations.
