Long before I had the joy of becoming the Booper's mom I loved kids. I worked in a daycare and I taught a 2 and 3 year old Sunday school class at my church. Being around kids makes me feel young..and sometimes act it too. Shh..don't tell. The funny things kids say and do can make time spent with them an adventure. Don't believe me? Try babysitting or better yet parenting! At 3 years old I'm still surprised at some of the things that our Booper says and does. The other day playing in our yard he was convinced a Beaver had been chewing on our tree.(we live in town with no beavers around) Oh how I wish I could have recorded that conversation. Kids are fun and sometimes part of that fun is getting messy.

I'm a practical parent, I will try things and see what works best for our family. The latest trends in parenting or products don't always fit with family life, so sometimes you have to just go with what works for you. So when I was asked to review these Fine & Handy -Hand & Face wipes from BabyGanics I thought sure we can always find a use for wipes, because with kids-dirt happens.

I don't think I need to explain how handy travel packs of wipes can be to moms and dads on the go. They are just needed. It doesn't matter where and sometimes I don't even know how but when we're out the Boop always seems to find something sticky and gets it on his hands. Is it a boy thing? I'm not really sure but my niece never seemed to have so much trouble staying clean...just saying. So we took these really handy wipes with us to the zoo. We were able to tag along on a school field trip at the private school where I volunteer and we had such a great time. Lunch time came and we seated all the children in the picnic area and out came the wipes! Some of their hands didn't look dirty but when they finished using the BabyGanics wipe the truth came out. I wish I could show you a picture of them all using the wipes, but for privacy reasons I can't take pictures of the school children. The kids really liked the wipes and a few needed another wipe after eating too. Perfect. So we all know wipes are handy and they are needed. What makes BabyGanics wipes unique?

UPERE Wedge Sneaker Review

The one thing I've always loved shopping for is shoes, so when UPERE contacted me about reviewing their wedge sneakers I was thrilled. There is just something magical about wearing a new pair of shoes. If you're like me then you're of the opinion you can never own too many shoes! I don't have as many pairs of shoes as I had back when I was a teenager, but I still love having shoes that fit my style. For review I chose these suede leather Aster Wedge Sneakers in navy blue.

Browsing through UPERE's site I was in love with several different wedge sneaker styles, but the muted colors of the Aster design fit me well. The star detailing also caught my eye stitched in leather between the crossing leather stripes the star gives these sneakers a fun distinction. When the sneakers arrived I was impressed by the attention given to packaging. These shoes were handled with much care. Inside the outer bag the box was wrapped then I opened the box to find each show in a cloth bag. Inside the cloth bag each sneaker was also wrapped with a thin foam covering to keep the leather safe from damage.

How my shoes looked when they arrived from UPERE.

With three outer Velcro straps and one inside the tongue of the shoe these sneakers had a very secure fit. I chose the size 38 which is a 7.5 in US sizing. I can wear a size 7.5-8.5 depending on how shoes are made and these fit me well. Having a hidden 2 inch heel I was surprised by how comfortable they were. My heel felt really cushioned and I didn't feel any pinching in my toes. I loved the added height they gave me without the appearance of wearing heels. My feet did start to ache after wearing these for a long time, but you have to realize I'm not used to wearing heels ever. I know back when I was younger I would have rocked these shoes all day with no problem, now I can wear them to go out for a while and be good to go. If you want a little added height or you just love the style of wedge sneakers you need to check out all the color choices and style designs on UPERE! I'm loving these Aster design shoes and plan to wear them many more times. With precise attention to detail, and fun unique designs I feel UPERE has the quality to match their selection.

Indiana Artisan Best Boy & Co. {Product Review}

On occasion I have those moments when I say, "I love being a review blogger!" Opening the package from Best Boy & Co. started out like any other review. Each of the jars and the bottle were wrapped for shipping and when I pulled them out they had simple yet classy labeling. I liked the Best Boy & Co. logo it has the silhouette of a dog which is comforting to me (kind of strange I know) but I do love dogs. Their products have such a relaxing appeal to me, perhaps it's the logo, the hand signed packaging or the fact that their products are made in my home state of Indiana. Whatever the case may be I instantly felt at ease to dive right in and try these new and unique sauces.

The first product I tasted was their Bourbon Caramel Sauce. This was the most delicious and most surprising of all the products I tried. I don't normally like caramel or so I thought. Typically when I eat caramel it's mixed with chocolate or other sweets. I don't choose to eat caramel when I have another choice..until now. This ooey gooey Bourbon Caramel Sauce was so decadent it would have been a shame to let a drop go to waste. That's what I told myself as I licked my fingers and the spoon. Made with all natural ingredients the caramel had some separation so I had to stir it up after opening. Pictured above is Best Boy & Co. Bourbon Caramel Sauce drizzled over sliced apple wedges and topped with chopped pecans. This dish was simple with just 3 ingredients and yet so extravagant in taste. I wanted to hoard this to myself but I did share with my family. My husband thought this was delicious drizzled over our vanilla bean frozen yogurt.

Could it really be Summer without BBQ? Not in my mind! We enjoyed tasting the zesty flavors of Best Boy & Co. Original BBQ Sauce. I brushed their thick and bold sauce over chicken while it was baking. This dish turned out delicious and made a great salad for my husband to pack for work the next day. This BBQ sauce is very thick I used a butter knife to actually dip some out from the bottle. On memorial day I spread some on my hamburger bun and this tasted delicious with the flavors of a grilled burger! Speaking of grilling I was curious to try the Java-Nib Seasoning Blend and we never seem to need an excuse to grill steak. I tenderized our eye of round cuts and then sprinkled/rubbed them with the Java-Nib blend as they were grilling. I have to admit I would have never really thought of putting these flavors together, but they compliment each other nicely. I seem to get in a rut on how I season our foods so this was a really great change of pace.

We were also delighted to try the Chili Hot Fudge Sauce. The only way I can describe it is a warm flavor bursting with fudge sweetness. We dipped strawberries in this and poured it over our frozen yogurt. I liked the flavors together, but I want to experiment more with recipes and find something that fits with it's zesty vibe. Of all the products I was given for review the Bourbon Caramel is my absolute favorite. The empty jar proves it!

Summer time always reminds me of the sweet cakes I would have on my birthday. Being born a Summer baby I have always enjoyed fun outdoor birthday parties. In May of 2002 the first volume of Signing Time! was completed, starring Rachel, 3-year-old Alex and 5-year-old Leah. The response was overwhelming. Testimonials poured in, with touching stories about how Signing Time had been instrumental in dissolving communication barriers and giving a "voice" to children who previously had no way to express themselves. Everyone wanted more Signing Time. Rachel and Emilie's company, Two Little Hands Productions, was born.

Since then, Two Little Hands product lines have grown to include Baby Signing Time, Practice Time, Sing & Sign, Story Time, Potty Time and Rachel and the TreeSchoolers. The Great Closet Challenge- a challenge for late spring cleaning.

As many of my readers might know-I'm what you might call organizationally challenged. I have issues with clearing the clutter. I work very hard to fight the hoarder in me and try not be so sentimental about stuff, yet it's an ongoing battle. A blogging friend and I were chatting about how we both have this problem of letting things go and keeping our homes organized. As we were chatting I had this thought. When I have a specific goal of cleaning a small area I do well. What if we challenged ourselves to clean up one small area of our home? If we can clean up one closet how much better we will feel, and then we can take on another area that needs work. Just one small thing at a time. Starting with-what lies behind the closet door. I dare you to read on.

These are not easy posts to write since it's embarrassing to open up a closet and take pictures for everyone to see all the junk I've been cramming in over time. We have a very large old home and I counted we have 9 closets, this is the catch-all closet in our spare bedroom. By far the worst one.

I'm not blind. I know this is really bad. It wasn't quite so bad just a few weeks ago, all the storage tubs and junk were stacked to the side. After my husband and I had been working on the wiring in the closet the stack of boxes seemed to fall over being top heavy, from having too much junk. Alright now that you've seen my colossal failure at organization I will share my plan of action.

Open the door and get started.
Pull everything out and I mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!
Clean the closet and shelves.
Add more shelving, since we don't really use this closet for hanging clothing.
Throw out as much as possible.
Donate anything worth money.
I see tons of junk in there that just needs to go in it's right place. Like the wrapping paper, I have another place I actually store my gift wrapping junk. Wow, I've been really lazy!
Whatever is left that I absolutely must keep will go into smaller more manageable storage tubs.
Return the items worth keeping in a way I can see everything and actually walk into this walk-in closet.
Enjoy the liberating feeling of having made our home better.

There are a lot of things I'm asking myself as I stare at these pictures of our closet. Why? Why did I let this get so bad? Well I know why. Time gets away from me and then so does our home. So...we gave ourselves a time limit for this challenge. 2 Weeks. We have 2 weeks to come back and share the after pictures. By giving ourselves plenty of time we hope to have some of you that are organizationally challenged to join us.
