Sophie Sheridan is about to be married to her true love, Sky, but has no father to give her away. What's a bride to do but go poking through Mom's past for answers? In the pages of an old diary she finds a shocking secret: any of three men could be her father. She sends a letter to each one, hoping to discover who has the right to escort her down the aisle... and throwing a big fat Greek monkey wrench into Mom's life.

Three good reason

1 The legendary, luminous Meryl Streep scores points for 50+ women everywhere by stealing the show from her equally gorgeous onscreen daughter (Amanda Seyfried of Mean Girls).

2 Fans of the stage show may have thought there was no way to improve on it, but the Greek scenery (including Pelion and Skopelos) provides a breathtaking backdrop for the tale.

3 This is the type of musical where you go into the theater humming the songs. Enter adventurer Alex O'Connell, who is to mummies what car alarms are to city-dwellers. When Alex realizes he's awakened an ancient evil, he does what any dashing young hero would do: he runs to tell Mom and Dad. And so it is that Rick O'Connell and his wife Evelyn get pulled into yet another perilous adventure, with their wayward spawn in tow.

Three Good Reasons

* 1 Two words: Rick O'Connell. Or is that three words? At any rate, the witty, good-natured, courageous adventurer played by Brendan Fraser always shows audiences a good time.
* 2 China is awesome. Director Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) agrees, and the chance to shoot on location there was a driving force behind his interest in the film.
* 3 With kung fu icons Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh in the cast, it's safe to say there will be more leaping, kicking, and smashing heads than in any Mummy movie to date.

Bet You Didn't Know
The ancient Egyptians immediately pulled out and discarded the brain before beginning the mummification process, because they considered the strange goopy substance to have no important purpose. This may explain the behavior of most movie mummies.

Also Known As:
The Curse of the Dragon
The Mummy 3
The Mummy III
The Mummy Returns sequel

Production Status: In Production/Awaiting Release

Genres: Action/Adventure and Sequel

Release Date: August 1st, 2008 (wide)

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for adventure action and violence.

Distributors: Universal Pictures Distribution

Production Co.: The Sean Daniel Company, Sommers Company
Studios:
Universal Pictures

Filming Locations:
China
Montreal, Quebec Canada

Produced in: United States
http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

Releasing tomorrow movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008)

Download Movie Link

watch the trailer

In grand "X-Files" manner, the film's storyline is being kept under wraps. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder's pursuits.
Also Known As:
The X-Files (sequel)
X-Files 2
X-Files II
X-Files: Done One

Production Status: In Production/Awaiting Release

Genres: Science Fiction/Fantasy, Thriller, Adaptation and Sequel

Release Date: July 25th, 2008 (wide)

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for violent and disturbing content and thematic material.

Distributors: 20th Century Fox Distribution

Production Co.: Big Light Productions

Studios: 20th Century Fox

Filming Locations: Vancouver, Canada
Produced in: United States
http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

Movie Get Smart (2008)

Download it here (torrent link).

Watch the trailer

Maxwell Smart is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. As Smart and 99 get closer to unraveling KAOS' master plan--and each other--they discover that key KAOS operative Siegfried and his sidekick Shtarker are scheming to cash in with their network of terror. MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 238px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 257px" height="334" alt="" src="http://www.themovieblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/holding-breath.jpg" border="0" />

There is something that annoys all of the online film community, and that are films that are stuck in “developmental hell.” How many times have you read news about movies that you were excited to see years ago, and talked about to your friends, and still have yet to see them hit the big screen today? (Frustrating, ain’t it?) However, sometimes movies are well worth the wait. In fact when we follow the ‘out of sight, out of mind’ mentality, that’s when we actually get what we want. It took years for ‘Spider-man,’ ‘Super man Returns’ and ‘Sweeney Todd’ to hit the big screen. Also, just when we almost gave up hope, ‘Indiana Jones 4,’ ‘Sex and the City movie,’ and ‘X-files 2’ finally got out of development hell and fan boys and girls were able to rejoice.
So here are movies that I’m not holding my breath for, and hopefully they will get made one day. (However, some of them I gave up all hope for!) .

1. MEG-How many of guys were waiting eagerly each summer for the arrival of this prehistoric shark movie? Jan De Bont was attached to direct this film and I was so psyched to see a new shark movie that sounded like it was going to blow ‘Jaws’ and ‘Deep Blue Sea’ out of the water. Unfortunately, the project got dropped, and although there’s STILL talk that it will happen, somehow I feel like I will have kids and have had gotten my tubes tied by the time this baby arrives in theatres.

2. Alice-I was 15 when I had heard that they were making a dark tale of Alice in the Wonderland based off the popular video game which would star Sarah Michelle Gellar. 8 years later, (yes, you can do the math if you want to find out my age :P) and Sarah Michelle Gellar is STILL attached to this project! If this movie is going to happen, I highly doubt that SMG will be Alice still, unless they drastically change the premise.

3. Evil Dead 4/Evil Dead Remake-I’m still one of those faithful fans that believe that ‘Evil Dead 4’ will be made. I hope to see Ash battle Candarian demons just one more time. However, there has been more talk about the remake, than the much demanded sequel. It has been years since we’ve starting hearing about numerous rumors about actors to play Ash. Ashton Kutcher, Sean William Scott, and even Wes Bentley were rumored to play the boomstick-wielding hero. (I still vote for Nicholas Brendon. Read my article as to why HERE.) If either one are coming to the big screen, I don’t think it will be for A LONG TIME. (So I guess you’re just going to have to stock up on the countless editions to the ‘Evil Dead’ series in the meantime.)

4. Inglorious Bastards/Vegas Brothers
I love Quentin Tarantino. He is one of the reasons why I love film in the first place. Despite the fact that of him being one of my idols, I can’t deny that he talks a lot sh*t in regarding his so called upcoming projects. When he first announced he was going to do a war film called ‘Inglorious Bastards,’ fan boys were ecstatic. I, myself was more interested in the rumored ‘Vegas Brothers’ project, that would be a spin off prequel to ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and ‘Pulp Fiction.’ However, since John Travolta and Michael Madsen are too old to play the roles now, and due to the fact Quentin has severe ADD, I don’t think we will see those projects PERIOD.

5. Buffy/Angel Movie- Four words. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. If you still find yourself wanting to know what happens to these characters, go buy the season 8 comics instead.

6. Scream 4- Yes, I have to admit, I’m a HUGE Scream fan. However, I was NOT a fan of the last installment. I felt so let down by how they decided to end the series. I also felt that if they had Kevin Williamson penning the script, the film would have been a lot darker and a lot scarier. For years, there has been talk about a sequel to ‘Scream 3.’ Last year, I got excited twice when I heard Neve “I don’t have a career anymore” Campbell in fact WANTED to reprise the role of Sidney Prescott. Unfortunately, most of the rumors have died down, as well as my anticipation for a new film. (Or so I say…:P)

7. True Lies 2-’True Lies 2′ has been on my mind since I had first seen the original film. (That was 14 years ago!!!) I think it’s a sequel most Arnold fans wanted to see. It could be the comeback movie for Tom Arnold. It would give Jamie Lee Curtis something decent to do, guys could drool over a grown up Eliza Dushku, and maybe fans could be treated to another “cowardly performance” by Bill Paxton again. If Arnold ever returns to film, (which there is no doubt in my mind he will) I hope this is the first project he chooses.

8. Batman vs Superman Movie-I thought it was a very cruel joke to pull on fans by teasing them with a ‘Batman vs Superman’ movie poster being shown in ‘I am Legend.’ If they can’t even get a Justice League movie off the ground, I don’t think fans should be holding their breath for this superhero movie either.

9. Escape From Earth- John Carpenter fans will probably know what I’m talking about. Years ago, there was talk about the Snake Plissken films becoming a trilogy. Even though I much rather see the John Carpenter/Kurt Russell collaborations, ‘Big Trouble in Little China’ and ‘The Thing’ become a franchise, I was very excited at seeing another ‘Snake’ movie. Unfortunately, the talk has died down about a possible third installment after the commercial failure of ‘Escape From L.A.’ Also, because of the upcoming remake of ‘Escape of New York,’ a third film does NOT seem feasible.

10. Jurassic Park 4-For years we have heard about talks about another sequel to the popular ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise. Due to production delays, endless script revisions, and the WGA strike, the fourth installment is still currently in production hell. However, when the film does get made, I do have a few suggestions.
a) BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL CASTWe have seen all the original cast members return throughout the series, yet not all together in one sequel. Every time I watch ‘The Lost World,’ I miss Dr. Alan Grant’s presence. In the third film, I miss Ian Malcolm’s presence. If they do a sequel, hopefully they bring back EVERYBODY. (Even Julianne Moore and Vince Vaughn would be cool!)
b) BRING BACK THE T-REX
The Spinosaurus killing the T-rex so effortlessly in the third installment was f*cking bullsh*t.! I don’t want to see this f*cking fictional gigantic dinosaur who can somehow sneak up on its prey like a ninja and miraculously have a phone be heard from its stomach from miles away become the next alpha dinosaur in the series. The T-rex is the ULTIMATE bad ass dinosaur, and that’s how it should stay. (The raptors are a close second)
c) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD…FIND THE F*CKING CAN ALREADY!!
I don’t know why this has bothered me so much, but I never understood why the films never went back to this particular subplot in the series. Newman from Seinfeld dropped the can of DINO DNA in the mud after he was eaten. Why hasn’t it been found yet? It was such an obvious setup! USE IT!
d) GIVE ME A SEA MONSTER!In the third film, it was hinted that we would have seen a sea dinosaur; however, it was just the stupid Spinosaurus in the water. Bullsh*t!e) THIS ONE WON’T HAPPEN BUT….
Bring back Steven Spielberg as the director!
What are your choice films that you’ve been dying to see?
Other honorable ‘Don’t your breath’ mentions: Barberella, HALO, Six Million Dollar Man, and the new He-Man Movie.

http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

Daniel Radcliffe (HARRY POTTER)Interview, The Deathly Hallows

Daniel Radcliffe Interview, The Deathly Hallows

MoviesOnline caught up today with Daniel Radcliffe at the Los Angeles Press Day for his new film, "December Boys,” which opens September 14th. (See our full interview later this week.) He also talked to us about his personal experience reading the final Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” as well getting ready to shoot "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” the sixth installment of the Harry Potter franchise which begins filming in less than two weeks. Daniel, who recently celebrated his 18th birthday, is a fabulous guy and we really appreciated his time. Here’s what he had to tell us:

MoviesOnline: Did you go straight to the epilogue when the new Harry Potter book came out?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: I did indeed. No, I didn’t go straight to the epilogue, that’s what my grandmother does.

MoviesOnline: What did you think of the final Harry Potter book?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: In terms of the ending of the book, I was thrilled. Has anybody not read the seventh book? – [SPOILER ALERT] Okay, cool, I was very, very pleased because I basically get the best of both worlds, because I get the scene of my demise and also I get to live on after that, which is any actors’ dream, you get to die and then you get more screen time, it’s fantastic.

MoviesOnline: Are you filming now?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: I start ‘6’ in 10 days.

MoviesOnline: Any special preparations, special ITunes list?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: Not yet, but I’m sure I will before we start filming.

MoviesOnline: Can you talk about where you were reading the book and what you were experiencing as you were reading it?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: Totally. There’s a quote, I’m not going to take this too pretentious, there’s a quote from Chekhov when he wrote to the woman who was the final love of his life, who he later married and I think died with, not that she died but he was with her when he died, and he addresses a letter to her and he says, ‘Hello, the last page of my life.’ Which seemed very appropriate to me reading this book, because he has been such a part of my life now. I’ve been with him through all my teen years, and you were suddenly aware that – I started reading it, it was wow, this is the last time I will take a journey with this character, and it was quite a special moment, and actually while reading the final chapters I was listening to Sigur Ros which was very, very appropriate actually, it really, really was, God I’d love them to do a song for one of the films, they’d be absolutely fantastic.

MoviesOnline: Were you thinking about it as you were reading it, oh my God this book is amazing, it’s going to be such a good movie?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: I was thinking, how are we going to make it into a movie? It’s going to be tough, but that’s why someone cleverer than me adapts them. I think if we get it right, which I’m confident we will, it should be amazing.

MoviesOnline: Have you read the script for Half-Blood Prince yet?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: Yeah, yeah, yeah

MoviesOnline: Have they adapted that book well, they have to cut them down so much?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: They have to. Obviously things have been taken out, but everything that drives the story forward is very much in place.

MoviesOnline: And you’re doing a play right after you finish Half-Blood Prince?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: There’s a little gap and hopefully if I can find another film to make then that would be really cool, but if not, yeah I might actually rest.

MoviesOnline: A lot of people read the book in one or two days, did you feel you needed to read it quickly so someone didn’t spoil it for you?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: Weirdly I didn’t. I was at a cricket match when it came out, so I didn’t really start reading it properly. I read the first 30 pages one night, and then said, ‘Right, I’m not going to pick it up again until I’ve got proper time to really have a go at this.’ And actually no one spoiled the ending for me, I thought they would. I thought someone was going to shout it out what happened. But the brilliant thing about it actually – she sort of made it spoiler proof, because even though if someone does say what state Harry ends up in, you don’t know the half of it which is pretty impressive. When I finally did get to read it, I did read it in about a day and a half just because I didn’t put it down.

MoviesOnline: A lot of people thought Alfonso Cuaron did such an amazing job on Harry Potter 3, and he’s talked about he’d be willing to come back to the franchise, would you like to have him back for book 7?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: It’s a very interesting question. I loved working with Alfonso, so I don’t want this to be misinterpreted in the slightest, but I really love working with David Yates. Who knows if he’ll do book 7? But also I think, to be honest, it’s really nice to have new directors come on board. Who know, it’s a long way off, book 7. It depends if David is willing to do it. I don’t know if he will be. It’s a long way off so I don’t know at the moment. But I would love to work with him (Alfonso) again in the future, I don’t know if Potter will be the place where that happens.

MoviesOnline: You’re okay with Yates coming back for book 7?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: If he wanted to, yeah totally.

MoviesOnline: Did you have a good 18th birthday party?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: I had a fabulous 18th birthday party, thank you very much.

MoviesOnline: We didn’t hear anything about it.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: Good.

MoviesOnline: Do you have any great summer memories?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: This summer was pretty good, because I got to go to Lord’s (Cricket stadium in London) for my birthday.

Daniel Radcliffe will be seen next in "December Boys” which opens in theaters on September 14th. Look for our full interview with him from today’s press day later this week.

http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

New Prince Caspian Poster

We have a slew of posters today! We get the new Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian poster thanks to our friends at moviesonline:

Of all the posters that I have thrown up today, this is my least favorite. I am not a fan of photoshop posters where you have a lot of floating heads. It is like I stumbled into a cannibal camp and they have a pole with heads hanging from strings (only less cool… and the faces in this poster have sunnier dispositions).

I though the first Chroncles Of Narnia film was alright, and will certainly check out the second installment.

From the talented man Mike Markus comes the newest poster for Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian. "Prince Caspian" finds the Pevensie siblings pulled back into the land of Narnia, where a thousand years have passed since they left. The children are once again enlisted to join the colorful creatures of Narnia in combating an evil villain who prevents the rightful Prince from ruling the land. "Prince Caspian" was first published in 1951, and is the second book in the seven-book series written by Lewis. It was intended as a continuation of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia" have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, and continues to be one of the best loved and most popular series of all time.

http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

Leatherheads Poster

IN THE BEGINNING,THE RULES WERE SIMPLE,THERE WEREN'T ANY

Good sweet gracious! Clooney looks surly with the black eye and should consider wearing one out to his next red carpet appearance. That would be bad-ass, he could bring a feral wolf as a date and hold his pants up with an cut off piece of an extension cord (with the plug end still on). Then he could use a stone hatchet to scalp Joan Rivers whilst screaming “I have the Scalp Of The Demon Queen (+3 Charisma), my mission is accomplished!”

Leatherheads is set for release April 4, 2008.

PLOT SUMMARY:

A romantic comedy set against the backdrop of America's nascent pro-football league in 1925. Dodge Connolly, a charming, brash football hero, is determined to guide his team from bar brawls to packed stadiums. But after the players lose their sponsor and the entire league faces certain collapse, Dodge convinces a college football star to join his ragtag ranks.

The captain hopes his latest move will help the struggling sport finally capture the country's attention. Welcome to the team Carter Rutherford, America's favorite son. A golden-boy war hero who single-handedly forced multiple German soldiers to surrender in WWI, Carter has dashing good looks and unparalleled speed on the field.

This new champ is almost too good to be true, and Lexie Littleton aims to prove that's the case. A cub journalist playing in the big leagues, Lexie is a spitfire newswoman who suspects there are holes in Carter's war story. But while she digs, the two teammates start to become serious off-field rivals for her fickle affections.

As the new game of pro-football becomes less like the freewheeling sport he knew and loved, Dodge must both fight to keep his guys together and to get the girl of his dreams. Finding that love and football have a surprisingly similar playbook, however, he has one maneuver he will save just for the fourth quarter..

http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

Batman- The Dark Knight movie...!!

More New Batman Images

By john@themovieblog.com (John Campea) on News Chat

It is difficult to bring up the topic of the new Batman movie without still having the death of Heath Ledger fresh on our minds, but as cliche as it sounds “the show must go on”, and I’m sure Heath wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. This is “The Movie Blog” and The Dark Knight is still coming, and with that in mind…

Our friends over at ComingSoon have gotten their hands on a couple of new Batman images that give a solid view on 2 points of contention:

1) The Bat-Outfit. At first I actually really liked the new design of the Batman costume while a lot of other people hated it. I have to admit the more I see of the new outfit, the more I’m starting to dislike it. Keep in mind, the design of the outfit will have NOTHING to do with how good the movie itself is… so even if it is a bad design (which is still up for debate) that doesn’t mean the movie won’t be great.

2) A smaller Christian Bale. Folks, I watched Batman Begins again last night… and it only reinforced my disappointment with how much smaller Christian Bale is this time around. In the picture below, Bale has to be at least 20-25 pounds down from the amazing condition he was in for the first Batman flick. Once again, that says nothing about how good the movie itself will be… it’s just a minor point of sadness for me. I want to see a Batman that looks like he’s about to rip your head off…. instead of one that looks like he’s about to do my taxes for me.

<img font-style: italic;">story:
“Meet the Spartans” gets off to the sort of start that might make a B.C. warrior want to jump off a Thermopylae cliff.

Vomit and breaking-wind jokes, and an old woman getting hit in the face and losing her false teeth — all in the course of the first five minutes. Talk about “Greece-ing” the skids.

Surprisingly, however, “Meet the Spartans” — a satire with a framework of spoofing last year’s “300,” which attempted to seriously tell the story of King Leonidas and a force of 300 men fighting the Persians at Thermopylae in 480 B.C. — gets better.

Not really a heck of a lot better, but enough that when the end comes one is looking at one’s watch in shock. My, the time has flown. The movie has a listed running time of 84 minutes. But unless my watch is way off, “Meet the Spartans” is a good deal shorter — or more Spartan in length — than that.

Which is also good. It’s a pleasure to be somewhat conned by the movie-makers because if the movie had been any longer the rot of the first five minutes would have undoubtedly returned to set in. But within about 60 minutes or so, “Meet the Spartans” is capable of offering a few smiles, the occasional gag that works, and an atmosphere of generally harmless instantly forgettable silliness.
Speaking of forgettable, what “Meet the Spartans” really sets out to satirize are a host of American 15-minutes-or-so of fame icons. “American Idol,” Britney Spears, Subway “eat fresh” sandwiches, beer commercials — you name it.

Leonidas (gamely played with a straight face by Sean Maguire) encounters these figures and objects in various shapes and forms on his way to Thermopylae with 13 — as opposed to 300 — brave Spartans. The bravest is his captain, but Kevin Sorbo looks a good deal less happy to be part of this scene, and in a way who can blame him?

Back home is Leonidas’ queen, Queen Margot, in the alluring figure of Carmen Electra. She is perfectly cast for a film such as this, combining sexiness and vacuousness. It says something about the state of the modern American movie that Electra has been getting a lot of big screen work.
But stealing the show — if, in fact, there is a show to be stolen — is Kevin Davitian of “Borat” fame as the over-size Persian king. Davitian actually is amusing in the scenes — or rather, skits — that he’s in, including playing an unctuous “Let’s Make a Deal” game with Leonidas.

Let us not, however, get too carried away. The spoofs and skits miss much more often than they hit. It is obvious that the co-directors and writers Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer — who last year had some commercial success with “Epic Movie’ — think they are very funny. As Basil says disparagingly in “Fawlty Towers” to someone over impressed with his own humor, “Read a lot of Oscar Wilde, do you?”

Satire is really too big a word for Friedberg and Seltzer and “Meet the Spartans.” “Monty Python” this isn’t. “Saturday Night Live” this isn’t. Scenes can get set up with some cleverness, but then the script can become almost unbelievably juvenile. And usually, the denouement or punch line to a scene is equally ham-fisted, composed with all the subtlety of a thud.

That said, the supporting cast is well cast and squeeze out what humor they can from the various situations. Maybe some of these actors will end up on “Saturday Night Live.” Particularly impressive is Nicole Parker, who we see in a number of incarnations including Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Paula Abdul. Her take off of Abdul is especially sharp, and she and Jim Piddock as Simon Cowell and Christopher Lett as Randy Jackson do the panel to perfection. More, in fact, could have been made of their talents.

Still, less proves to be more. There can be little doubt that a good deal of material must have ended up on the cutting room floor — which, given what ended up on the screen, is where it belongs.

The end result is that “Meet the Spartans” abruptly decides to get off the stage while the going is … well, if not good, still within the realms of possible forgiveness.

You can look at your watch and exit the movie theater with a smile on your face for more than one reason.
http://movies-adda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
