Promoted by Live Nation, The Coloring Book 10 Tour kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 11 in Cleveland, Ohio at House of Blues, making stops across North America in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver and more before wrapping up Sunday, Oct. 11 in Pittsburgh, Pa. at Citizens Live at The Wylie.

Released in May 2016, Coloring Book marked a defining moment in Chance the Rapper’s career and a breakthrough for independent music at large. With Coloring Book, Chance The Rapper was the first independent artist to win a GRAMMY® Award, the critically acclaimed mixtape reshaped perceptions around streaming, artist independence and the evolving music landscape. [Chicago, IL - May 4, 2026] Chance the Rapper will kick off the 10-year anniversary celebration of his seminal project, Coloring Book, with a series of limited screenings of the Magnificent Coloring World concert film at Rooftop Cinema Club in Chicago (May 16), New York (May 20), and Los Angeles (June 20). Tickets go on sale today, May 4, at RooftopCinemaClub.com.

The screenings at Rooftop Cinema Club will be the first public opportunity for fans to enjoy a shared viewing of Magnificent Coloring World, followed by a live Q&A with Chance. The limited run also serves as the opening moment in a broader anniversary rollout.

Originally filmed in 2016, Magnificent Coloring World is a fully realized visual extension of the Coloring Book era. Directed by Jake Schreier and filmed at Chicago’s historic Cinespace, the project blends live performance with stylized set design, immersive lighting, and theatrical staging to create a cohesive visual world rooted in the themes of joy, faith, and community that defined the Coloring Book era. The film had a run of preview screenings in 2021 and is now back for the 10-year anniversary alongside Rooftop Cinema Club.

Featuring live renditions of fan-adored tracks like “No Problem,” “Blessings,” and “Same Drugs,” the film brings together a range of collaborators from the Coloring Book universe. Rather than capturing a traditional concert, Magnificent Coloring World was built as a fully staged production, with intentional set design, lighting, and movement, similar to acts in live theater. Each performance is carefully blocked and visually composed, blending live instrumentation, choir arrangements, and ensemble staging to reflect the gospel-influenced core of Coloring Book. Chance’s attention to detail in the film’s production, combined with its key collaborators, allows it to capture not just the music but the full experience of the Coloring Book era in a way that feels both expansive and personal.

As previously announced, Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro will serve as the Guest Artistic Director for this year’s festival, and the festival will open with Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White and written for the screen and directed by Scott Cooper.

DeVon Franklin, Serayah, and Tyler Lepley premiere Ruth & Boaz in Hollywood

Fresh off of tackling his first principal acting role in Tyler Perry's series Divorced Sistas, DeVon Franklin is once again collaborating with Perry, but this time in his longtime "day job" as a producer. The premiere screening of this latest work, the modern day-set, music-fueled Bible story update Ruth & Boaz, had its premiere screening last night, Wednesday, September 3, at Netflix's Tudum Theater in Hollywood. The stars playing the titular characters, Serayah and Tyler Lepley, were also on hand with Franklin and moderator Erica Campbell for a spirited Q&A discussion, which can be viewed in its entirety below.

Ruth & Boaz begins streaming on Netflix worldwide on Friday, September 26.

“Guillermo del Toro is one of the great champions of the art form — a visionary filmmaker, a passionate cinephile, and a tireless advocate for bold, original storytelling,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI President and CEO. “As Guest Artistic Director of AFI FEST, he brings a singular perspective that will inspire audiences of all generations.”

Previous Guest Artistic Directors for AFI FEST include Pedro Almodóvar, Bernardo Bertolucci, Ava DuVernay, Greta Gerwig, David Lynch, and Agnès Varda.

Frankenstein, del Toro’s definitive take on the Mary Shelley classic, will be released in select theaters on October 17 and Netflix November 7.

Jeremy Allen White stars as Bruce Springsteen in the film, which traces the musician in 1981 and 1982 on the cusp of global superstardom as he records his landmark album “Nebraska” and struggles to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.

About the Film

Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe. Starring Jeremy Allen White as the Boss, the film is written for the screen and directed by Scott Cooper, based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere by Warren Zanes. The film also features Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Doug; Odessa Young as love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive, Al Teller. The film is produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Scott Stuber. Tracey Landon, Jon Vein, and Zanes executive produce.
