<p>The Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA) reports to the President/CEO, and according to established policies and procedures, provides leadership for and administrative, management, marketing, fiscal, clinical and staffing functions of medical services with line responsibility for the following:</p>

<p>Health Information Management/Transcription</p>
<p>The VPMA Serves as a member of the leadership team for the system.  Serves as an ex-officio (non-voting) member of all Medical Staff committees; attend all meeting of the Board of Trustees, Medical Executive Committees, and  Medical Staff departments.  Ensures compliance with established corporate objectives and the provision of quality, economical services.   Performs other work of the department and is responsible for assigned sections on a 24 hour basis.</p>
<p>Wilson, NC is 45 miles East of Raleigh, NC and two hours to the coast.  Wilson Medical Center is a 294-bed (licensed) acute care facility plus a 90-bed Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center.</p>
<p><strong>Major services include:</strong></p>
<p>Interventional Cardiology Services with balloon angioplasty and cardiac stenting.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Murphey Group, Inc. has been retained by a nationally recognized, non-profit leader in hospice and palliative care to recruit a Director of Area Operations.  This regional role will have budget responsibility of $36M and will lead two hospice branches each with an ADC of 200 &#8211; both branches are thirty miles apart.  The role will also lead two hospice inpatient units (16 beds each).  The Director provides overall supervision and coordination of operational staff within the area, including coordination as needed with various support functions of the organization.  Total FTEs reporting up to this role is 275.</p>
<p>A Bachelors Degree in a health-related or management field is required, with a minimum of ten (10) years management experience, four(4) of which have been in a senior level position.   A Masters Degree in a business related field is preferred.  A minimum of three years leadership experience in hospice care is required.  The position primarily requires an individual with strong healthcare management and leadership skills, and an ability to interact successfully with members of the healthcare community and other community leaders.  Requires excellent communication skills, a valid Florida or Alabama driver’s license, as applicable, reliable transportation, and current automobile liability insurance.<br />

<p>This position assumes overall accountability for oversight of all medical staff and clinical quality along with related activities within the region.  This position is accountable for serving as a catalyst for the development of practice guidelines and care protocols that lead to the achievement of quality biomedical/service outcomes and cost efficiencies.  Additionally the VPMA/Regional CMO is accountable for continuous quality improvement and clinical loss prevention functions as they relate to clinical practice and patient safety.</p>

<p><strong>Vice President, Medical Affairs &#8211; Flint, MI</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Summary:</span></strong></p>
<p>Reports to the President/CEO and, as part of the senior executive group, participates in the planning, organizing and administration of Medical Center-wide general and medical administrative policies and procedures.  Provides administrative oversight for assigned areas, including: medical staff office, medical library, quality assurance and quality improvement councils, clinical data management, case management, infection control, medical education and special physician services.  Acts as the clinical champion of the electronic medical record initiative.  Fulfills role as the liaison between the Medical Center, Medical Staff, and Board of Trustees. Ensures compliance with existing laws and regulations.</p>

<p>Oversees the implementation of recommendations made by regulatory accrediting, and other agency personnel.  Ensures Medical Center credentialing of medical education programs.</p>

Our client is part of one of the nation&#8217;s largest integrated healthcare delivery systems.  The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, Immunology, Sleep Medicine and Research is seeking a full time senior staff board certified internist/sleep physician to lead its sleep medicine and research program.</p>
<p>The Center is currently clinically staffed by internists, psychiatrists, and otorhinolaryngologists.  An ACGME approved fellowship trains 3 candidates yearly. The AASM certified Sleep Center is a 14 bed facility, with four additional beds located at a satellite center, providing 4100 patient visits and 2200 polysomnograms annually. Four PhD. and one MD scientist are responsible for the conduct of NIH and pharmaceutical studies, with international recognition for work in insomnia, circadian disorders, sleep apnea, sleep and pain, sleep pharmacology, and sleep therapies.   The ideal candidate would supplement current clinical and research endeavors.</p>

<p>Our client has an ADC of 115 for their at-home hospice patients.  Their 14-bed hospice home remains full with a waiting list.  Our client has a palliative care service at a large tertiary hospital and they also do palliative care consults in an outpatient clinic that is next to the hospital.</p>
<p>This Associate Medical Director will spend one week at a time working Monday-Friday doing palliative care consults at the hospital.  The next week will be spent doing three days of rounding in the hospice home and two days seeing patients in the outpatient palliative care clinic.  They are very flexible with this schedule and they can shape the position more based on a<br />
person’s interests, etc.</p>
<p>The current medical team consists of a full-time Medical Director, a part-time team physician, a NP and once this new physician joins the team, call will be 1:3 or 1:4.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Murphey Group, Inc. has been retained by the Geriatric Section, Division of General Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University to recruit a Medical Director, Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE Program) in Richmond, VA.</p>
<p>The physician will serve as Medical Director and primary physician for the PACE Program and will engage with the interdisciplinary PACE team in planning activities, clinical IDT meetings, system development, protocol writing, direct patient care, and case management for a group of highly frail older community dwelling persons who are enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid, and are clinically nursing home eligible.</p>
<p>The Medical Director will monitor and oversee the management of the patients across care settings to ensure both good clinical outcomes and control of health care utilization.</p>
<p>This role will be supported by and work in collaboration with other members of the VCU Geriatrics Section, Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine.</p>
<p>Work Monday &#8211; Friday only with call 1:12 (by phone only).</p>
<p>Academic Rank: Assistant Professor or above depending on qualifications.</p>
<p>Qualifications: Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice required.  Board Certification or CAQ in Geriatrics highly desirable but not required.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Murphey Group, Inc. has been retained to recruit a Hospice and Palliative Care Medical Director for a well established hospice and palliative care organization in Las Vegas, NV.</p>
<p>Our client is opening a state of the art inpatient facility in early 2012.  This will be the first full-time Medical Director for our client and this is an excellent opportunity to make your mark on a new program.</p>
<p>We seek a physician leader who understands the importance of palliative medicine in the future of our health  care system and wants to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable population.</p>
<p>The Medical Director will provide Palliative Care Consultations across multiple clinical settings.  Provide medical supervision and consultation as member of the interdisciplinary group.  Supervise contracted Hospice Physicians for the  Las Vegas program.</p>
<p>Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy licensed to practice medicine in Nevada.  Board eligible or certified in HPM required.  Ability to collaborate effectively with the physician community in order to implement the hospice program of care.</p>

<p>This will be the first full-time Medical Director for our client and this is an excellent opportunity to make your mark on a new program.  This role will build relationships in the local medical community and work to further develop a palliative care program in the local hospital which is in the midst of building a new 350-Bed state of the art facility.</p>
<p>Owensboro is 2 hours from Nashville, TN and 90 minutes from Louisville, KY.</p>
