Registration for the 2011 NCMA summer conference will begin March 15th, but in the meantime, many of you will want to begin planning your time in Northern California.  I’ve posted some helpful links to airport information, ground transportation and sight-seeing tours. 

Airports

Many, if not most of us will be flying in and while San Francisco is an option, Oakland is closer and easier to navigate.

Ground Transportation

The easiest way to get from either airport to Berkeley is via the Bay Area Rapid Transit or BART.  SFO has a station in the airport, while Oakland International offers a $3 shuttle bus to the nearest station. Either way, you’ll want to get off the train at the downtown Berkeley station and take a cab from the station to the Westminster House.  It is walkable, but with luggage in tow, a 15 minute walk easily becomes a 30 minute trudge uphill.  The cab ride should be around $5.
