First book in the young adult "Mortal Instruments" fantasy series about a teenage girl who discovers that she's a Shadowhunter, someone who can see and kill magical monsters (demons, vampires, werewolves, fairy creatures). It could've done with less teenage soap opera and long-winded expository speeches, but otherwise I liked it. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_X">Ben X.</a> Belgian drama about an autistic young man who becomes engrossed in an online computer game because of bullying. It was okay. It started out strong. I choked up when I saw him suicidal and upset over the bullying. It reminded me of the nightmare I went through in high school, crying in despair, wondering why people were going out of their way to be cruel to me when I hadn't done anything but read my books and mind my own business. The movie would've been great if they focused on the real-world drama, but alas, it went off the deep end by having him think he was in his game and in love with a character. Seriously? Folks with autism/aspergers have trouble escaping from reality sometimes, but they're not that damn delusional. They don't make out with imaginary girlfriends. The Secretary of State is in charge of the polls. Indiana is a swing state. The Democrats want to be in charge so they can look the other way when black civil rights racketeers in Gary and Indianapolis illegally stuff the ballot boxes for Obama. So the Democrats played dirty by launching a witch hunt against the Republican, accusing him of committing voter fraud by voting and running for election from his ex-wife's house. The bipartisan electoral commission unanimously ruled that the Democrats case was bullshit. The guy lived at the house. His kids lived there. Lets not drag his family into everything just because ya'll are shady. But alas the Democrats ignored the ruling and got a sleazy liberal Democrat judge to convict him instead. They then smugly announced that since all of the Republican votes in the election were null and void, Republicans technically don't count as a political party for the 2012 election so it'll be Obama and the Democrats at the top of the ballot. Very shady stuff. Corruption and fraud at its absolute worst. All of it will probably be overturned by the courts, but it just shows you how nasty the election is going to be. The American people have soured on Obama so the Democrats will do whatever it takes to steal the election and retain their last bit of power.
