Network is very excited to announce that we are now representing photographer Cybele Malinowski. Cybele has shot anyone who's anyone in the music world from Powderfinger to Crowded House, to Florence + The Machine and Gotye. Her work is also regularly seen on the covers of Jetstar magazine, Sunday Life, JMag and in the pages of Cleo and Marie Claire. Better still, she's a great girl with a wicked sense of humour which she brings to all her shoots. 2012 is going to be a big year for her!

A good start to the year

It was a Network team effort for this job for Good Start Early Learning Centres with our photographer Joe Wigdahl, stylist Stav Hortis and hair + makeup artist Desiree Wise combining their talents to make it happen. It certainly was an interesting shoot working with real butterflies (that had to be kept in the fridge in hybernation until the very moment they were to be photographed) as well as a number of unpredictable toddlers but we got the shot in the end.

Friday the 13th

A mischievous black cat + Friday the 13th? Not the most ideal day to be doing a shoot (if you're suspicious) but our food + lifestyle photographer Georgie Cole plowed ahead with a shoot for Kantong today. All went well (touch wood) but "Miss Chippie" prowling around did make a few of the crew a little bit uneasy.

New Year, New Work

It's been a while since we updated our little blog, what with the holiday break and having to produce 6 photo shoots this week with only 2 staff members in the office it's been a bit hectic! So here's a few things that we missed...

First up our beauty + fashion photographer Charles Howells shot this slick Grazia advetorial for Mini with Network stylist David Bonney back in November.

And photographer Harold David also did his seventh (!) shoot for Sportsgirl.

WILK exhibition

Our photographer WILK recently collaborated with Penrith City Council and together they have created a new exhibition titled "THURSDAYS".

Every Thursday night local youths gather in the space between the Joan Sutherland Arts Centre, Penrith City Council and the Penrith Westfield which is called "The Mondo". WILK's black and white photos of these youths, all shot on film, will be blown up and featured in the windows of the Joan.

The opening night is next Thursday December 15 from 6-7pm at the Joan Sutherland Arts Centre so definitely pop along if you can. The exhibition runs until January 25.

With 3 security guards on set to protect the $3 million+ worth of diamonds that were being featured, it was definitely not your average shoot.

Network stylist Stav Hortis was asked to conceptualise + style three stories for the special edition of Pink Magazine, the breast cancer awareness mag that is released every October with Australian Women's Weekly. Featuring a number of brave and inspiring women who have been touched by cancer (including one survivor who climbed Mount Everest!), we think they all look absolutely radiant. Another job well done, Stav.

The song "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye featuring 21-year old New Zealander Kimbra is the biggest song in the country right now going straight to Number 1 on the charts. Even Ashton Kutcher is a fan, recently posting a link to the music video to his 7 million twitter fans - you can't get much better publicity then that!

So our hair + makeup artist Felicia Yong was excited to get up close and personal with the singer for the cover of JMag recently, literally turning his face into a disco mirrorball. We've attached a few behind-the-scenes piccies below as well as the finished result.
