Who doesn’t love brownies and raspberries? I know I do! Even better, put them together in these Tuxedo Brownies!

1 pkg brownie mix

1/2 seedless raspberry jam

2 C fresh raspberries

3 oz white chocolate

2 pkg cream cheese, softened

1/2 C powdered sugar

1/4 C milk

8 oz container whipped cream, thawed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Prepare and bake brownie mix according to pkg directions. Cool completely. Spread jam onto brownie, reserve 1/2 C raspberries for garnish, but arrange the remaining raspberries evenly over jam.

In microwave, heat chocolate on high for 1 min; stir. Heat an additional 30 sec or until chocolate is completely melted when stirred; cool slightly. Meanwhile combine cream cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl, mix well. gradually whisk in melted chocolate and milk. fold in whipped topping; spread carefully over raspberries. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Cut into squares and garnish with the reserved raspberries. Store, covered in the refrigerator.

Well, Whitney moved out on thursday. I guess that was the only day he could get help moving the furniture. I thought I would go and help him try to get settled. I was exhausted but I mustered the strength pack up a load in my car and his car and bring it over to his new place. I started to help him unpack, but before I knew it I could hardly keep my eyes open. So I stayed the night. In the morning I woke up and helped him unpack almost all of his bags. They I convinced him to go back and load up both of our cars to get the rest of his stuff. I was so tired!

We got that stuff unpacked and then realized Missy didn’t have any food. We also needed to go grocery shopping and pick up some stuff, so we went back to my apartment and picked up Missys stuff and the rest of stuff that we forgot and headed to the grocery store. I forgot how much trouble it is moving. I just wanted to sleep. After we got all that done there was some misunderstanding and he ended up asking me to leave. I think he is just mad about the breakup. I can’t help what is. In any case I don’t think I will ever see him again at this point. I came home and my house was A MESS! I don’t even know where to begin.

Break ups are hard. I don’t know if it is even possible to remain friends when one is resenting and blaming the other. Basically… I am just having a rough time.

Well some things have kind of unfolded since last weekend and it’s been pretty difficult. Christmas eve Whitney and I had a long talk and decided that it’s not in our best interest to remain together. There are just some things that we can’t come to a compromise on. It’s not that we don’t love each other. I love him so much. It’s just that we have dreams for our lives and some of them aren’t in line with the other person. We’ve tried to figure out a way to make things work, but there are just some things that can’t be compromised.

I know we just got engaged, but when we started looking to the future we realized that we want a few different things. It’s been the hardest decision of my life. Whitney has been looking for a new place to live and I think he found one yesterday. I am pretty sure he is signing the lease today. Good thing is he will be able to keep Missy. I would love to keep her, but I don’t think it would be fair to keep her in the kennel all day long. It’s hard to lose 2 things that I love so much at the same time. It’s going to be so weird coming home to an empty apartment. I think he is moving out tomorrow or the next day.

The weirdest thing is that I still want to be friends with him. I have never wanted to stay in contact with an ex before. Usually I just want to stay away from them and move on with my life. I don’t know if it’s because we have been friends for 17 years or what it is, but I can’t imagine not laughing with him and being in support of one another. Anyhoo, sorry I haven’t posted for a while. Just been going through a lot.
