37-yr-old Frank Abrokwa is currently awaiting court on a variety of charges including numerous assaults, harassment, theft and hate crimes. He spit on a Jewish man in Crown Heights, before threatening to kill him.

He also had over 40 prior arrests before he made headlines with the recent feces attack.

He's basically public enemy number one in New York City, but he's NOT in jail. A violent repeat-offender - in the past 30 days, he's assaulted multiple strangers without warning, smeared his own excrement in a woman's face, stolen weapons and told the judge at his court appearance, "Fck you, bitch" - is free today without paying a single dollar in bail, thanks to "bail reform" laws passed in the state legislature.

These laws eliminate pre-trial incarceration for all but a few major crimes, while also tying the hands of judges by removing judicial discretion in consideration of bail requirements. Under the law, judges cannot weigh a defendant's criminal history, including any and all recent arrests for violent offenses.

Intended to guarantee equitable treatment within the criminal justice system for people of color, bail reform laws have created a permissive environment in which criminals may remain constantly active. Men who would've previously been stuck in Rikers and other city jails now roam the streets from target to target, and attack with virtual impunity.

Adding fuel this trash fire, Manhattan prosecutors have been warned by new DA, Alvin Bragg, not to ask for jail or prison time in criminal cases they prosecute, barring only the most serious offenses such as 1st-degree murder or felonious domestic assault.

The current conditions in New York City are as close to lawlessness as the law will allow, emboldening the criminal element to rob or pointlessly attack anyone they see and then reoffend, sometimes immediately after being arrested, processed and released.

Lawmakers, the Manhattan DA and even feckless Mayor Eric Adams - whose token visit to Albany to petition members of the legislature to reconsider elements of the bail reform measures was a toothless and transparently political errand, designed to deflect all responbility for the safety of New Yorkers back to the capital - are in full agreement: "Equitable" treatment of violent criminals is far more important than the rights of victims, the safety of citizens and the need to maintain any semblance of order or civility in America's largest city.

Brutal Crime History Lesson 001 - Brooklyn's All-time Meanest Pimp - DaVernon LeGrande

Phony preacher, pimp, rapist and serial killer DeVernon LaGrande put the fear of God into his Brooklyn neighbors even as he put a crew of hookers disguised as poor nuns out on the subways and in the streets to earn his fortune, which was estimated at $250,000 a year in 1950's dollars. He beat women to death, and had them buried on an upstate property he obtained as a burial ground. He's estimated to have killed 12+ but didn't keep a low profile, instead riding around the city in a cream-colored Caddy complete with a tv and bar inside. Ahead of his time in crime, he preyed on young victims during the 1950's and '60's until finally imprisoned, leaving behind a progeny of 46 children, many of whom followed in his criminal footsteps - notably, DaVernon LeGrande Jr., an ultra violent psychopath who met a bloody end in a Brooklyn numbers joint.

A Queens man who was dressed non-ironically as a Spartan and armed with a Samurai sword threatened officers and basically beat his way through his own screen down in an attempt to assault NYPD officers who'd been dispatched in response to a 911 call about a man with a gun.

After cops tazed the EDP and finally subdued the man, who friends and family referred to as a "Gentle Giant," the man suffered a heart attack and was pronounced at the hospital.

Levy and Dixon review audio from recently released footage from bodycams worn by the officers as they attempt to deal with the situation at hand as while protecting themselves and each other, as the situation turns violent and potentially deadly in an instant.

The giggly, hookah-smoking passenger followed the 25-yr-old woman when she got off the 6-train and made a "masturbation motion towards her," according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison.

She moved off in another direction to avoid him, but he knocked her down and tried to pry apart her legs while a shocked crowd gathered, with one exemplary individual taking video which did help lead cops to the suspect, 31-yr-old Jose Reyes.

 - NYPD today released a 48-page draft of its "disciplinary matrix," a standardized set of punishments for officers for offenses like "Hate Speech" (punishment: termination) and "Discourtesy" (punishment: 3 penalty days). As Pat Dixon, host of Crime Report LIVE on Compound Media, points out:

"Terms like 'hate speech' and 'discourtesy' can be easily expanded and contracted literally by virtue of the race of the person speaking, and that alone. So even with this new "matrix" of rules and punishments, the city's expectations of officers are anything but standardized.

"2020 brought New York the new bail reforms which guarantee more violent criminals will be on the street; the lockdown of citizens and release of thousands from jail over COVID concerns; violent and costly anti-NYPD riots this summer; the dismantling of the department's vaunted, 600-man anti-crime unit and the city council's ill-considered passage of a new set of restrictions on how police officers can handle suspects, which in some cases, would include automatic jail time for officers who are simply doing the job as they were trained (and not so long ago, mind you.).

"This raft of new disciplinary guidelines for the nation's largest police force adds insult to injury, in an year that's already been far too insulting and plenty injurious for NYPD."

Meanwhile, the shocking rise in crime, particularly shootings, which began immediately following the ill-advised reassignment of NYPD's 600-officer Anti-Crime unit, continues to heat up, providing an opportunity for BLM apologists and anti-cop advocates to say ridiculous, empirically untrue things. A lenient judge releases a looter without bail after he was arrested for bashing an NYPD cop over the head with a large bong he'd just stolen from a nearby smoke shop. The cop had a concussion and large gash on his head and had to spend several days recovering.

No doubt, this increases attendance, especially among younger New Yorkers who are sick of not hanging out with their friends. Thousands have been gathering in Brooklyn and in Washington Square Park in the Village, whether they support the cause or not.

Meanwhile, in front of a few city bars, where liquor can legally be sold to go during this time, people congregated in small groups to enjoy the warmer weather and shake off lockdown fatigue, some of them socializing in public for the first time in months.

After the city and Gov Cuomo gave the protesters their blessing to march, chant and sometimes loot and vandalize businesses throughout the city for two weeks, law-abiding New Yorkers figured they were due some slack. Nope.

Gov. Cuomo sternly admonished New Yorkers, threatened to revoke liquor licenses of bars, harass anyone socializing outside bars or in parks and publicly told the mayor that if he didn't get a handle on things, the state would step in and cancel the reopening of businesses and send us all back to our apartments, as punishment (er.. to keep us all from dying of COVID19.)

Watch as these protesters force minor confrontations with police, then cry foul? Why does this particular cause suddenly involve the mob making bizarre, emasculating demands? ("Kneel before me and apologize.") Why have protesters insisted that officers march with them? Pose with them? Why are we seemingly expected to make excuses for looters robbing stores, vandals breaking windows, protesters accosting cops, blocking traffic.

Why is there ONLY ONE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE WAY to feel about all this?

And *WHY* do our mayors and governors maintain emergency powers when the curve was flattened 2 months ago? Why do they keep insisting we cover our faces? and why do the restrictions bend so easily for protesters? Would this be allowed if there was any significant health risk? It wouldn't. Here's the problem with a lot of "true crime" shows, they're not happening NOW. They serialize it, dragging out a story over several episodes. They talk about stuff that happened years ago. They bullshit you with spooky music and moralize, speculate, drop hints, take themselves too seriously or waste your time with ads and, I don't know, they mostly suck, that's how I feel.

In continuous production since 2011, NYCCR was one of the FIRST True Crime podcasts and is still the ONLY show devoted to reporting the crime happening NOW in New York City, including murders, robberies, rapes, and social-distancing violations, and it's generally funny or at least disrespectful.

# JAZMINE HEADLEY ON FRIDAY, 23-YR-OLD JAZMINE HEADLEY WAS ARRESTED FOR SITTING ON A FLOOR OF A BROOKLYN SOCIAL SERVICES CENTER WHERE SHE INTENDED TO PICK UP SOME SORT OF VOUCHERS. WHEN NO SEATS WERE IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE IN THE WAITING AREA, SHE SAT ON THE FLOOR. WHEN SECURITY AT THE CENTER TOLD HER TO GET UP, SHE REFUSED. POLICE WERE CALLED. JUST AS POLICE ARRIVED, HEADLEY REMOVED HER 17-MONTH-OLD SON FROM ITS STROLLER AND HELD HIM IN HER ARMS. WHEN POLICE ASKED AND ORDERED HER TO STAND UP FROM THE FLOOR, SHE REPEATEDLY REFUSED, OPTING TO BE ARRESTED RATHER THAN STAND. AS A FEMALE POLICE ATTEMPTED TO HOLD HER BABY TO ALLOW THE ARREST TO PROCEED, HEADLEY GRABBED AT THE CHILD, TIGHTENING HER GRIP AND YANKING HIM BACK AND TURNING THE ARREST INTO A TUG-OF-WAR WITH HER BABY, ENDANGERING THE WELL-BEING OF THE CHILD. DUE TO WILDLY UNFAIR AND IRRESPONSIBLE COVERAGE OF THE INCIDENT, AND SIMILARLY BIASED, ANTI-NYPD ASSESSMENTS BY OUTSPOKEN MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL (WHO EMBARRASSED REALITY WITH THEIR OVER-THE-TOP STATEMENTS ABOUT HEADLEY'S ARREST DURING A PRESS CONFERENCE), CHARGES AGAINST HEADLEY HAVE BEEN DROPPED, SHE HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM RIKERS, AND NYPD IS SOMEHOW LEFT WITH ANOTHER PR BLACK EYE, THOUGH THE OFFICERS HANDLED THE SITUATION AS PERFECTLY AS COULD BE DONE.
