I hope you had a wonderful Monday during this busy holiday season. I live above a mall at The Americana At Brand and it is very lively every night. There are thousands of lights, a 100-foot tall Christmas tree, twice nightly snow and lots of sales. It’s a lot like living above Main Street Disneyland

First, Don and I will be signing Ninja Mom and Tengonis in the Tiki books at the Uptown Village Market in Long Beach this Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00 – 10:00 PM. 4321 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, California 90807. We will be at the Makersville Booth hosted by Trish Tsoiasue.

The other event is a screening of a little Fashionista Ninja film I made. It is in the Culver City Film Festival on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in the 12 noon. It’s the first film in the group and is only 3:44, so as Kimi’s Grandma Bachan says, “Don’t blink or you might miss it!” There will be a Q & A after the last film. The screening will be at the CineMark 18 & XD: Located in: The Promenade at Howard Hughes Center, 6081 Center Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90045.

This week I just wanted to take a moment to say “Thank you” to everyone who has followed and supported the many adventures of the World of Ninja Mom. Don and I are so excited to have our first book Ninja Mom and Tengonis in the Tiki out in the world for you to enjoy. I’m working with a couple of awesome producers on the Fashionista Ninja animated series. David J. Kono and I are premiering a fun live-action teaser version of Fashionista Ninja at the Culver City Film Festival in December. Here’s hoping a studio home will be in the near future!

Today’s Ninja Mom Moment was a challenge. I wanted to make a movie reading the Ninja Mom and Tengonis in the Tiki book. There is a lot of prep work that goes into the transferring the images. Making the transitions work with the music in iMovie can be frustrating with some of the program limitations. I was able to put this video together with the first three pages. In my mind, I can see the whole thing with sound effects and everything. That is definitely a longer production process. Hope this gets you excited to read the whole book.

I love the printed book that really highlights Don’s wonderfully colorful artwork. Let me know if you think I should follow it up with an eBook. Today, my good news is that the NINJA MOM and TENGONIS in the TIKI children’s picture book is available in both the Japanese American National Museum Store and The Comic Bug Store, as well as online at Amazon.com.

This weekend I was delighted to meet Don’s mother-in-law, Dorothy Tsoiasue who was his inspiration in illustrating my ninja grannie, Bachan.

I hope you had a great Monday! This past weekend we had an amazing time at Los Angeles Comic Con. We made new friends, signed books, and had lots of fun. Please enjoy a slideshow of the weekend!

I’m working on a new website design, trying out Squarspace. I’ll let you know when it’s done. In the meantime, I updated the animatic for Ninja Mom and Tengonis in the Tiki with the QR code and Amazon info. On sale now!!!

It’s time for another Ninja Mom Monday! We had a wonderful time at Island Bazaar last Monday. A big Thank You, Mahalo, Arigatou to everyone who made it. Thank you Shirley Orlando for hosting our Ninja Mom and Tengonis in the Tiki book signing. One of the extra nice outcomes was donations for Waymakers Youth Shelter continued after the actual signing and a generous donation was made to help them. Big hugs to everyone for your support!
