When I was a little darling (yes, really!), we used to spend every Easter with my cousins at my grandparents house in the English countryside. We would wake up full of excitement, and rush down to breakfast to find an Easter treat laid out on the breakfast table for each of us. Later in the day, we would run around their big garden, baskets in hand, to find what the Easter bunny had hidden amongst the flowers and trees. I always imagined this fictional creature (nevertheless very real in my mind) being the size of my mummy, wearing an Easter Bonnet, and walking on two legs around the garden!

Here are my top picks of what to buy and do this Easter:

1. Emma Bridgwater Happiness is a bunny rabbit baby mug
I love all of Emma Bridgwater’s designs. This brand new pattern is utterly adorable and perfect for an Easter table!

2. Donna Wilson designs for Rococo Chocolate Easter eggs
Talented textile designer Donna Wilson has collaborated with Rococo Chocolate this Easter to make a limited six-piece collection. Each design is hand-painted by Rococo’s skilled artisans. They are almost too beautiful to eat!

3. Easter egg hunt at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
Find out which exotic animals are hiding all the Easter eggs with this fun quiz Easter egg hunt. Will they be tucked away with the flouncy flamingos, the giant rabbits, or the mischievous meercats? All you have to do is take your own cheeky monkeys along, solve the clues, and win a prize!

4. Sisters Guild Easter Ornaments
If, like me, you love having a big vase containing branches for hanging Easter ornaments on, then look no further than the online boutique Sisters Guild which has a wonderful selection, including these pretty pastel hanging Easter egg tins by Maileg.

5. Wetland Centre Easter Eggstravaganza
Want to get out of central London this Easter but don’t want to venture too far? Why not head to the wonderful Wetland Centre in Barnes, where children will delight in seeing and learning about newly hatched ducklings. There is also a special Easter trail to complete and win a small prize.

There is a little known ultra super food hiding behind the over marketed and over priced big brand products right here in Chelsea. I have been using Chia Seeds to supplement both my clients’ health and mine for years and have been baffled as to how difficult they are to purchase here in the UK. The sales clerk in Revital Heath Shop on the King’s Road very nervously served me as I bought her entire stock whilst demanding to know just how long they have been selling them.

I originally took to Chia after reading of their healing anti-inflammatory properties to help with joint pain from an injury I sustained. In a short period of time, not only did my hip start to feel better, I noticed a small drop in my weight without changing anything else in my diet. Since then I have added them into my diet to help with weight management.

These tiny seeds were the main food source used by the ancient Aztec, Mayan and Inca cultures. They used it as “running food” as a spoonful contained enough energy to keep them running all day. Not hard to see why – they contain 20% protein, 34% beneficial oil, 25% dietary fibre, huge levels of antioxidants and are the richest source of Omega 3 and 6. What is ultra super about them, is they are totally natural, produce no toxic effects, bugs hate them so therefore pesticide free and have a 5-year shelf life.

Chia is also known as the “dieter’s dream food” as all the healthy oils contained in them help you metabolize fat and bulk out food recipes displacing calories with out compromising on flavour. They are very low calorie and the dietary fibre cleans out your intestines and helps food digestion whilst creating a physical barrier between carbohydrates and the digestive enzymes that break them down; this means the energy from food is released steadily.

I add these little seeds to everything. I always start my day with a teaspoonful in a splash of grapefruit juice, or add them into a fresh smoothie or as a porridge topping. In cooking, I’ll add them to stews and use them to bind homemade meatballs and burger patties instead of using breadcrumbs. Sprinkle some crunch to your salads and stir them into soups, add them to baked goods and mix them into junior purees. No one would be the wiser.

Revital Health Shop, on the King’s Road, are selling little pouches for a wopping £2.99. Get your self down there and try adding a little Chia Power to your day.

A few months after I first had little darling, I remember going along to Gambado (a soft-play area) with a group of girlfriends and their babies. We were all very much in that post-baby haze (and hence obviously hadn’t done our research properly), but we walked straight in, took one look, and walked straight back out again! Places like Gambado (garish & loud!) are fun for kids but just awful for adults. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to recently discover the magical haven that is Maggie & Rose!

An exclusive family members’ club in leafy Kensington, Maggie & Rose is everything that you and your little darlings could possibly wish for. Set up in 2006 by Maggie Bolger and Rose Astor, (both young mums), Maggie says, “At that time I was a mum of 3 – two girls and a boy all under three. I was in search of the perfect place to go with my kids where parents could hang out and make friends just as much as the children could. I wanted a place that was cool and homely at the same time”.

And this has certainly been achieved with full stars! Housed over two (farrow and ball-ed) floors, there is a wonderful play area with an indoor slide and heaps of toys, a patio garden, a fully-equipped kitchen for your mini chefs, a cosy den with a funky tepee and cinema screen, an art studio, a mini shop selling cute toys and the club’s own brand of activity books, and also a café with delicious pastries. Phew! Maggie & Rose is to yummy-mummies what Soho House and The Groucho Club are to media hipsters!

Whilst we were there, little darling was lucky enough to sample a Messy Masters Art class (lots of glue, creativity, and learning about colours). Classes are kept to a maximum of eight so it isn’t too crowded, with parent participation being very hands on, and…. what a huge relief that someone else clears up all the mess afterwards!

Maggie says that the key to the success of the club is, “our down to earth and fun approach, as people really feel they are a part of our family here and that is pretty special to us. We have so much fun (maybe a little too much!) working together to deliver the Maggie and Rose experience and a happy team equals happy members”. Little darling and I totally agree – sign us up please!

Gardening is a form of self-expression. Especially in the British garden. Designs may look laid back. Haphazard, even. But surprising juxtapositions rarely happen in the flowerbeds by chance. Such daring dualities are at the heart of London Blooms. The new trio of Jo Malone scents. Adorned by breathtaking botanical drawings. Reflecting the spirit of modern gardens. Synonymous with emotions. Open to the sun and rain. Somewhere to show off. Hide. Or simply to be. Your true expression. Just like your fragrance.

Peony & Moss
A contrast of the dainty and the dirty. Delicate peony, clad in the moist earthiness of moss. Laced with cordial-intense cassis. Encircled with ivy. A fragrance of gossamer lightness, grounded in rich verdancy.

White Lilac & Rhubarb
A celebration of seductive contrasts beloved by modern gardeners. Tart-vibrant rhubarb cuts through delicate florals. The softness of lilac. The femininity of rose. And the almond scent of sun-loving heliotrope.

Iris & Lady Moore
A fascinating mingling of spicy-fresh, common-or-garden geranium and noble iris, powdery and poised. Two characterful purple florals, rustling above an elegant dry-grass bed of vetiver.

I was invited along to the Champagne bar at the Grosvenor Hotel to find out about a distinctly cheeky package it has launched for the indulgent romantics amongst you.

The days of Courtesans are long over but the at the Grosvenor they appear to live on. Not that I’m saying the Grosvenor by any means offers illicit services, but to celebrate the hotel’s 150th birthday they have created a rather romantic suite named after the 19th Century courtesan, Miss Cora Pearl. Festooned in what one might call the 1870′s version of ‘bling’ the room is an lesson in Napoleonic grandeur, with roll top bath, custom made furniture and the decidedly naughty touch of nipple tassels and a diamanté riding crop. We haven’t got a clue what you’d do with those.

The experience is one that comes with all of those unnecessary indulgences, such as champagne on arrival and a seven course dinner at the Grand Imperial Cantonese restaurant. That’s followed by a rose petal bath prepared by your personal butler (who doesn’t stay, we promise). Then you are left alone in your own personal haven until morning, where you’ll be served an in-room breakfast of strawberries and champagne. Decadent, playful and decidedly naughty, but that’s the only way that Cora would have wanted it.

A two night Cora Pearl package costs £1,862 including private check-in in the Executive Lounge.

For full details of the package or to book please visit www.guoman.com/cora_pearl.

For all other bookings please visit www.guoman.com/thegrosvenor or call 0871 376 9038.

Often described as the ‘ultimate red carpet experience’, and an encounter that is more frequently shared by passengers such as Her Majesty The Queen, Simon Cowell or indeed Lord Sugar, for many, riding in a Rolls Royce is recognised as the ultimate aspiration. Driving one however is quite something else.

The Rolls Royce Ghost is the newest edition to the portfolio – smaller than the rest of its family, it nonetheless projects just as much presence both on and off the road. The overriding takeaway from this 6.6L, 2.8 tonne beautiful machine is that for a car of its size and enormous V12 engine power, it is possibly one of the quietest vehicles you’ll ever drive. Pressing down on the accelerator elicits the gentlest of roars and requires some bat like ears to hear it.

The ride is equally as soothing – perhaps just one of the other reasons that this car is often favoured as transport of choice by anxious brides-to-be. Forget the wedding cake though, on an ordinary day out in the Ghost Extended Wheelbase, the closest you’ll come to royal icing is the feel of the tyres on the asphalt; unprecedentedly smooth. And as you glide along the motorway or through the city streets, you’ll find heads turning within seconds.

From the snug sheepskin that cushions underfoot to the extra legroom that the EWB back seats boast, the Ghost possesses everything you need for a first class journey. Fixtures and fittings are light and simple to operate, although you may find the single flappy paddle gear stick takes a little getting used to.

Clever quirky additions that distinguish this car from the rest include the head up display system that projects onto the lower part of the windscreen, letting you watch your speed, check your directions and speed limit, without having to look away from the road. Active cruise control and lane departure warning take the fatigue out of long journeys, allowing you to maintain a predefined gap from the car in front, and warning you if you slip out of lane. There are cameras to project a 360 view of parking (although, let’s face it, this car is never destined to parallel park) aided by a night vision system that allows body heat from passing pedestrians to be detected from up to 300m away.

Minimal effort, maximum impact. This car won’t fail to impress.

As the newest recruit to your team of bloggers here at The Notebook Magazine, I thought I should allocate my first post as a means of introducing myself. My name is Cee Fee and I am a personal trainer here in SW3, most commonly spotted exercising with my clients in the beautiful Battersea Park and roaming the aisles of Waitrose on the Kings Road loading up groceries for my clients’ weekly food shop.

I run a fitness, nutrition and wellbeing consultancy where I provide a discreet and bespoke support service to the residents of Chelsea and surrounding areas. I am delighted at the opportunity I have been given to voice my piece on the subject of healthy living.

As a pro-female trainer, I am all for celebrating the new trend in ladies training to be fit, strong and powerful, rather than frail and skinny. I am simply DONE with the old school trend of dieting forever and running 8 miles a day in order to shift a couple of pounds. I am DONE with the endless pursuit for a body to rival that of a prepubescent schoolboy. I am also DONE with the sheer amount of misinformation so readily available.

Over the coming months I intend on bringing you fresh news from the fitness scene, putting one or two myths to bed, filling you with recipe ideas, products, healthy places to lunch, latest sports wear fashion, tips for kids and fabulous exercises all to ensure you rock those skinny jeans this Spring.

I am happy to be always on hand to answer any questions regarding your health. Next time you see a 6ft blond girl in pink boxing gloves dancing on the Peace Pagoda, it’s probably me so stop by and say hi! – in the mean time, check out The Notebook and read more on my blog.

Love Cee Fee x
