Well, hello there... It's been a really long time, huh? It's been too long I don't even know how to write a blog post anymore. Long story short: I moved to Hong Kong to start (another) new job - which involves travelling around the world, and I couldn't be more grateful than ever.

Now after almost four months settling in Hong Kong, I'm trying to get back to the blogosphere. 11 months hiatus feels like a million years...

A Fresh Start

Dear The November Girl,

I'm sorry for abandoning you for so long. You wouldn't want to hear why, it's a cliche excuse. Work, as always, has prevent me from updating you for so long. As you may have aware, I started a new job since October 2010. Well, ever since, I literally have no time to do anything else. I use all my spare time (which is very very rare, you must believe me) to live a life outside my office/cage. Hanging out with family, friends and bf has become an occasional event as well. So I do hope you understand why I left you these past two months.

Moving on to a lighter note, it's 2011! And even though it's mid-January already, it is never too late to reflect on my 2010 and review this last year's resolutions. Let's see:

Excel in my new job > Got a new job instead :p
Buy a new digicam (aiming for Canon Ixus 100) > Accomplished!
Buy a new netbook (Acer/HP?? Recommendations please...) > Accomplished! Got myself a red Dell...
Go on a vacation in Phuket/Hong Kong > Well, I went to Hong Kong, but not for vacation.. So I'll go there again this year.
Start that clothing line!! > Visit Shop Natalie and Me, please. Need more improvement, though.
Start saving for Mom & Dad > Errr, not yet, unfortunately...
Move forward to the next level (whatever that is) in my love life > Cross that!! This one's tough...
Exercise more (likely to fail, though) > Failed, as predicted.
Continue blogging consistently > Amen!

All in all, I've accomplished so much, more than I expected in the first place. So here goes the 2011 resolutions:

Save enough money to buy MY OWN APARTMENT

Simple enough, no? Well, it's about time to have my own place, I'm tired of renting rooms, moving around from one place to another. I want to settle in. Anyway, here's how my apartment will look:

Clean, simple furniture, with red and pink touch here and there. Hope I can find the perfect place (with the perfect price, too). Now I have to work harder than ever to accomplish this. So don't be surprised if I abandon you again sometime in the near future. We've got a goal to achieve.

A Whole New World

Hi there! I'm finally back to blogging. As you may have known, I started my new job at the beginning of this week. It was great but totally exhausting. The new working hours can reach 12 hours/day on average. Dude, it's really really tiring. I enjoy it, nonetheless.

Well anyway, I wore this outfit on last weekend's night out with my girlfriends. It was a regular movie and karaoke night. Have you guys seen Step Up 3D? I think it's pretty awesome so I watched it twice.

Hmmm... I got nothing else interesting to tell. I guess I'm too tired. Am going to try sleep early tonight, because tomorrow is Monday again (!) I hope everyone's having a superb weekend. Toodles!

Back from My Hometown

Yes, I blog from my hometown, a (not so) small town outside of Jakarta called Bogor. I wanted to chill out a bit before starting my new job next week. Whoah, I can't believe it. Another new job. Another new place. And a whole lot new adventures and challenges to face. Anyway, I'm anxious, yet thrilled for it.

Anyway, moving on to the outfit. Well, I wore this last week before going on a date with my bf. I was going for a whole feminine look, all sweet and pink. That was before I knew that he was going to take me to a beach. So I ditched the dress and changed it to shorts. And threw away the heels. Save it for the next date, perhaps?

So, bf and I went to Anyer beach, which is one of very few decent beaches in West Java. It was four hours drive from Jakarta and when we got kinda disappointed when we got there. The infrastructure was not well maintained and the scenery was only OK. But we had a great time there, and that's enough to make me happy...

I think this is actually the first time I post an outfit shot at the same day it was taken. I guess I don't have much to do. Anyway, this outfit is kinda inspired by one of Jen's outfit here. The main ideas are the scarf and tights. It turns out that patterns on my tights are not really visible, but I really like it. It's really subtle, almost as if I'm not wearing any at all.

On a random note, these are some of my current TV favorites:

Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries series. I can't get enough of Ian Somerhalder, and Nina Dobrev playing both as Elena and Katherine. Love love love!
"All This Time" by One Republic, a soundtrack of TVD. I could easily got swept away whenever I hear this song.
Season 2 of Glee! There're so many hilarious scenes I can't even mention them one by one. Oh, Mike Chang finally sings! There's one...
Lea Michele's "The Only Exception" on Britney/Brittany episode. For no particular reason, I think it's really beautiful.
Season 4 of Gossip Girl, but only for the style and clothes. As for the storyline? Nah, not making any sense...

All This Time, We Were Waiting for Each Other

Hello, there! Long time no see. I just got back from my 4-day duty trip to Macau and Hong Kong, which is actually pretty fun, considering it's a work trip. Okay, let's see...

Day 1

Unlike my previous trip, we started in Macau this time. We went to several places I went before, like Ruins of St. Paul (symbol of Macau city), A-Ma Temple, City of Dreams, and The Venetian. One major plus point is that we got to watch The House of Dancing Water show, which is fantastic, marvelous, amazing, and whatever great word you can call it! Seriously, if you're in Macau, you HAVE to watch this show. It's a combination of water show, acrobatics, motor stunt show, and lot's of other great stuff. Ah, I'm running out of words to describe it, you just GOT to watch it yourself...

This time I also got the chance to snap a picture of Hard Rock Hotel Macau lobby, with my favorite The Doors quote on its wall, "Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?".

Day 2

We went straight to Hong Kong the next day, and had a trip to Victoria Peak and Madame Tussauds. And then went (window) shopping at Mongkok Ladies Market at night.

One thing that I notice in Madame Tussauds is that how tall those celebrities/politicians/athletes are. I mean, their wax statues are in real size, right? I didn't know that Obama is soooo tall. And I don't think I'm that short either. Well, I'm 5 ft 4 in. I'm pretty sure I'm normal. Anyway, I got to meet Johnny Depp, that just made my day!

Finally, at the last day, we went to Repulse Bay, Golden Bauhinia Square, had a cable car ride at Ngong Ping 360, and (window) shopping again at Thung Chung Citygate Outlets.

Our cable car cabin was glass-bottomed, which kinda freaked me out. I'm not scared of height or anything, but being able to see what was down there in such height really gave me chills. You should really try that one, too.

Here We Go Again

I finally found a jumpsuit that perfectly fits me. I've been having a hard time finding one that actually looks good on me due to my body type, but this one is just perfect. The waist line falls right on my waist, not slightly above or below it. It's just, well, perfect. Okay, that's the third time I use the word 'perfect', I'm gonna stop now.

The jumpsuit isn't my only recent purchase. This pretty pink bag from Aldo also is. I was in search for a well-structured bag (imagine Hermes' Birkin bag) which I can use both for work and play. I've searched in numerous department stores, boutiques, and small shops at two malls when I nearly gave up. Then as I entered Aldo as my last stop that night, I saw this pretty jewel on the rack and instantly fell in love. It only took me 5 minutes to check it out and I went straight to the cashier.

Anyway, let's make this a what's-in-my-bag post as well. Well, these are my essentials that I HAVE to carry everywhere:

Coin purse (Longchamp), contains small mirror, lipbalm, lipstick, eyedrops for my contacts and its case.
Glasses, in case I'm too tired to wear contacts. I'll be blind without them.
Wallet (Charles & Keith)

As I took this picture, I just realized that all of them are pink. It's kinda funny how I'm actually obsessed with the color without realizing it.

Hello, people! How are you all doing? Great, I hope. As for me, I'm doing quite okay. Not so great, but not so bad either. Anyway, it's finally official. I'll be moving to my, ahem... fifth job later this October. Well I hope this one will be a more settled one. But hey, I'm young, so I'll explore more while I can.

'Kay, about the outfit. It's practically jeans + t-shirt, as worn here and here. But the real star is that chunky ring, of course! It's great, isn't it? Rings are my old/new obsession. I used to love wearing them, but then the habit kinda stopped. Until now.

By the way, it's Paris Fashion Week already? I haven't even got a chance to catch up with London and Milan. Oh, how fast time goes by...

Meet Dina. My lovely sister. You've seen her in my previous outfit post. And now she's back, wearing a dress from my newlyfound shop, Natalie and Me. We did this photoshoot during our last holiday together at home, a couple of weeks ago. We just shot about 8-10 frames when suddenly rain poured down. So we moved the set inside the house. It was not as fun as the outdoor shooting, though...

Anyway, on another note, I guess I'll be moving job pretty soon (if everything goes well, amen!). And that would be my, errr, 5th job for the past three years. Ha! Well, let's just say I'm a very dynamic person :D

Oscar de la Renta | A Beautiful Persona

This is definitely my favorite show in Spring 2011 NYFW. I've always loved Mr. de la Renta's collection, but this one, is just out of the world. I imagine wearing these clothes will make me feel like a real lady, a real elegant lady that people will stop and stare to (in a good way). Who wouldn't want to be that lady?

And I figure that florals will still be on next season.

Prabal Gurung | The Great Balance

Prabal opened the show with a striking colored dress, which looks simple but if you take a closer look at it, it was actually carefully constructed, and not simple at all. The following pieces were in the same formula. They all look simple but truthfully, it's pretty complicated. But they all look gorgeous and I bet girls who're wearing them will feel the same way, too.

Thakoon | Easy and Breezy

I'd like to call Thakoon's girls as the girls next door. Well, not exactly next door. They're the cooler versions of it. Like, waayyy cooler...

Vera Wang | Wrapped Elegance

Vera Wang has also been one of my favorite designers. She's flawless in doing her bridal line. So when she started doing RTW, I have no doubts in her. Her Spring 2011 collection is filled with beautiful chiffon draped in stunning silhouette. Simply stunning...

NYFW Spring 2011 Recap #1

Howdy everyone? Having a great weekend? I sincerely hope so. Well, in the midst Fashion Week euphoria (London Fashion Week is starting already!), I'd like to share you some of my personal choices from this year's New York Fashion Week. I'll break it down in two posts, so stay tuned!

Derek Lam | Simplicity at Its Best

It's really easy to love Lam's latest collection. What drew me first was that high-waist flare denim with simple white shirt. Outfits in this collection is truly wearable. They are suitable for girls who, like me, are often rushes to go somewhere, and need one or two pieces that are easy to wear but still look wonderful. This is called putting the 'chic' in the terms 'effortless chic'.

Belts and gladiators are still on. So don't throw them just yet...

Diane von Furstenberg | Happy Girls

Presenting simply constructed basic outfits, Ms. DvF's Spring 2011 collection is just adorable. She's using a mix of primary colors on beautiful patterns, which is her trademark, of course. And those knotted tie details in the accessories is a perfect cherry on top.

Marc Jacobs | Giant Roses

Marc Jacobs seemed to be determined to bring the whole flower garden in the collection. The flower details are everywhere in the outfit. If it's not on the dress, it's on the necklace, or shoes. But since they're beautifully crafted, I won't complain. He, once again, proved that he will still rule the runway and we all will still love him. Hmm, I wonder what he will come up for Louis Vuitton.

See? The flowers are everywhere!

Marchesa | The Best Atelier in Town

I think Marchesa produces the most beautiful, amazing evening dresses. I started to notice this label since couple of years ago, when her gowns popped up on red carpets everywhere. In this origami-like collection, she uses a lot of chiffon, a fabric that shapes her trademark style, and my personal favorite fabric, too :)

Organic by John Patrick | A True Ready to Wear Collection

Honestly, I just recently heard of this label. But I instantly fell in love in its simplicity and the way that the clothes are truly ready to wear. These are the kind of outfits that I'd like to have in my closet for daily wear.

It's good to sometimes not thinking about dressing up and just put on a pair of jeans and t-shirt. Nothing beats its comfort. This t-shirt is not my typically favorite kind of t-shirt, but I bought it only as a souvenir for myself when I visited Macau couple of months ago. And it's actually pretty comfortable, so I won't complain.

My sister went home during the holiday and she delightfully take these pics for me. Then her boyfriend took the picture of us. I miss her (and my other sister and brother) so much, and I was really happy we can be together on the holiday. Even for only a short time.

Hello there! How are you doing? Had a great weekend, I hope. Okay, so I'm working on this project, which is related to one of my new year resolutions. And I'm sooooo excited! I can't wait to announce it to all of you. Guess which resolution it is. Nah, I'm not telling you now. I just have to finish few final steps and voila... I hope it will be great.

Anyway, this is what I wore to hang out last weekend with my friends. As usual, we went mall hopping. Same old, same old. There's not much to do in this city and mall seems to be the only feasible option to have some fun, especially when you're broke and just want to enjoy the view of some good stuffs.

Okay, I think I have to go now. It's quite late and I still have to go to office tomorrow. Blah! I hate working in an office... No, scratch that. I LOATHE working in an office. So boring... 'Kay, bye now. Have a great day!

The Color Palette - Yellow

Remember my experiments with the color palettes in my wardrobe? Well, here's the yellow one. The skirt is actually my office wardrobe. I hardly ever wear my office wear for casual events. They're just way too boring. This skirt is an exception, though. It's very comfortable and easy to mix with more laid-back outfits. The Color Palette - Red

Hey hoo!! Oh God, I woke up way too early for a Saturday morning. Before I fall back to sleep, I thought I'd post this first. So this is the second color palette from a recent wardrobe experiment of mine. Red is definitely my favorite color and I have quite a lot of it in my closet. But what I love the most is the red scarf. It's so comfortable and will go with practically anything.

On another note, I'm persuading my bf to go swimming later this afternoon. He always pushes me to jog with him every week, but I don't really enjoy jogging. So this time I'll push him to do what I want. Don't tell anyone, but he CAN'T swim and that's why he loathes it. But I don't care, I'll still push him to go swimming today. Ha!!

The Color Pallette - Blue

So I did a little experiment with my wardrobe and it turns out that I have quite a few item with similar colors. I tend to wear the same hue in one outfit. I've tried to combine few colors but it just didn't work out. It's just not how I dress... Anyway, after vigorously digging up my closet, I decided to play with several primary color outfits. The first one: blue.

Ssstt, the tights were actually dark purple, but it looks like black in the pics right? I was going to wear black tights after all... :)

Btw, I watched The Last Airbender couple of days ago and it sucks! It's really lack of quality storyline and the actor's performance is so poor. I thought Syahmalan can do so much better than that, but this could be his another failure. Hey, but that's just me talking. What do you guys think about the movie? Is it any good?

Oh, I can't wait for Sunday to come. Part because I love weekend, and part because I went to a tailor to make some dresses last week and they will be finished on the upcoming Sunday. It's actually a part of my plan to achieve a new year's objective. I really really hope that this will work. Amen! Okay, I'll leave you here. So you wanna know what I was up to last week? I took a short weekend gateway to experience the new Universal Studio Singapore. Just me and my BFF, Dian. It was really, really fun. Err.. scratch that. The rides were not THAT fun, it was so-so. Maybe because the ultimate Battlestar Galactica roller coasters (Human vs Cyclon) are not opened yet. And the queue was like hell. But considering that it's the first Universal Studio in Asia, it was worth it. I will definitely go back there to try those crazy roller coasters.

Just A Few More Hours, and I'll Be Right Home To You

So lately I've been feeling really really lazy. I'm not really sure why, perhaps I got bored... with life in general. I feel that it goes just flat, with no exciting turn of events or something like that. Has anyone ever feel the same? Or do I just watch too many TV shows?

Okay, enough of my ramblings, here I present to you an outfit shot. I think I need to buy/borrow/steal a tripod. I couldn't find a perfect angle for an outfit shot in my room. It turns out that a stack of books on a chair is not a good replacement for the tripod.
