Rogers to bring “Rogers On Demand Online”

Rogers On Demand Online

Rogers is getting ready to release Rogers On Demand Online by November 30th (www.RogersOnDemand.com). Rogers On Demand Online will have similar features to the On Demand service most Rogers cable customers are accustom to. Some of the features the current BETA is offering are as follow:

- High-quality streaming video player with full-screen option
- Dim the Lights feature
- Flexible click and drag video control
- Browsing by air date, channel, type & title search
- Most watched & Rogers’ picks lists
- Last Chance list

All this will be available to all current Rogers customers (wireless, cable, home phone, internet).

Rogers is also getting ready to release Rogers On Demand Mobile TV for Q2 of 2010. Some neat features of this are:

- Links to social sites
- Viewing rooms
- Live event streaming
- User-generated playlists
- Rating videos
- Commenting

This is something quite new for Canadians, similar to Hulu in the US.

TELUS — HTC Touch Pro2 & Snap, Now Available!

To those that have been waiting, today is the day… The new HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Snap are now available from TELUS. Both devices are Windows Mobile and are packed with WiFi, GPS, email support, bluetooth, Speakerphone, visual voicemail along with GSM roaming capabilities.

HTC Snap goes for $0 on a 3-year contract, $399.99 outright. HTC Touch Pro2 $249.99 also on a 3-year contract, $649.99 outright.

Rogers to keep 6GB smartphone data plan until September 15th

According to our sources, Rogers has decided to keep the 6GB Smartphone data plan until September 15th. Obviously to attract more students in to buying smartphones (iPhone 3GS, HTC Dream/Magic, etc.).

Rogers is apparently going to make the announcment at some point in the next few weeks. So if you’re a current iPhone user and thought you missed out, you still have another month and a half!

TELUS HTC Touch Pro2 Available from Best Buy?

According to BestBuy Mobile website, the TELUS HTC Touch Pro2 is available for $249.99 on a 3 year contract. Thing that strikes us as odd, is TELUS has still not released any information on pricing or release date! You’ll notice that the picture BestBuy is using on their page is some sort of cubed shaped (compressed) HTC Touch Pro2 – That if the device looked anything such, about 90% of the people interested in it…. Wouldn’t be!

According to the TELUS website the status of the HTC Touch Pro2 is still “COMING SOON”.

We’ll be sure to let you know any other information that forms from this. But in the meantime, take this as you please.

Blackberry Tour 9630, Now Available from TELUS

Monday marks a day that many have been waiting for, the launch of the Blackberry Tour 9630 from TELUS. This shiny new addition to the TELUS smartphone line up will run you $229.99 on a 3 year contract, those who either can’t upgrade, or hate the thought of getting tied up for another 3 years can snag the Tour outright for $599.99 with no contract. TELUS also decided to jump the gate 2 days earlier then Bell has anticipated release.

This is set to be quite the week with the Tour, HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Snap all said to be released by the 21st. TELUS sure knows how to turn up the heat – in the sense for its customers, this is a great thing.

Rogers and Blackberry Storm 9520 to unite?

Well, word on the street has it that there is some truth to this photo, taken last year at some point. According to some, the Blackberry Storm 9520 is supposedly headed to Rogers before the end of 2009. So those on Rogers, that may have even thought of switching to Telus or Bell (we don’t know why you’d want to), hold on tight, it may be here before you know it.

Rogers to get 3.5G HP Mini 110 @ $299.99 on a contract

Reports say Rogers is going to be releasing the HP Mini 110. A 7.2Mbps HSPA embedded netbook on a 2 year contract running for $299.99 CDN. The system specs, Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and a keyboard that is approximately 92% of the size of a standard laptop keyboard. A data plan is a given, starting at just $25/month (plus applicable fees) for 500MB – although, this may not cut it for a vast majority of users.

Telus to launch HTC Snap July 15th

Telus is set to launch the HTC Snap on July 15th along with the BlackBerry Tour, as mentioned previously.

Pricing for the HTC Snap are $249.99 and $29.99 with a 3 year contract.

June/July is looking to be busy months with regards to launch dates, Palm Pre, iPhone 3GS, BlackBerry Tour, HTC Snap (which looks to be coming the same date as the Tour – July 15th), and now this.. HTC Touch Pro2. We don’t yet have confirmation on pricing(we’ll let you know as soon as we know), but those who were pondering moving to Rogers for that new shinny iPhone 3GS, think a bit harder!
