Type O Negative's Peter Steele Dead at 48!

Peter Steele of Type O Negative passed away yesterday. The band's manager said Steele likely died of heart failure, but this hasn't been confirmed. He was just 48 years old. RIP Peter Steele.

TYPE O NEGATIVE's official web site has just been updated with the following message: "The [official TYPE O NEGATIVE] forums have been re-opened. Please play nice and expect statements from the band and family later today. "Thank you for your understanding and support." As previously reported, TYPE O NEGATIVE keyboardist Josh Silver confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that Peter Steele passed away yesterday (Wednesday, April 14) at the age of 48. No official cause of death has yet been released, but it is believed that Steele died of heart failure. According to unconfirmed reports, Steele had been ill for days leading up to his death. Steele was born Petrus T. Ratajczyk on January 4, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He stood 6' 7" (201 cm) tall, and had a low, bass-heavy voice, which was one of the most recognizable features in TYPE O NEGATIVE's music.

Since I don't "YET" have an Amazon Kindle, I now have an excuse to download Kindle application for my Mac-- and it's Jennifer Hudock's new "On Raven Wings." Just the other day she released an excerpt on her website and as always, she leaves you on the edge of your seat.

RIP Corey Haim - dead at just 38

Sad news today, yet another young star (yes 38 is young to me) dies from an 'apparent drug overdose'. Haim was found unresponsive in his apartment on March 10, 2010 and according to reports, he was likely found by his mother. Haim starred in several movies with Corey Feldman (who I totally would have thought would have died first). They even had a short lived reality show called ''The Two Coreys'' a few years ago. California Senator Roy Ashburn (R) represents the state's 18th district, in Sacramento. During the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Ashburn was arrested for drunk driving. In addition, Ashburn, who is an opponent of gay rights, was allegedly arrested after leaving a gay bar and a male passenger was seated next to him in the car. According to CBS13, Senator Ashburn was at a gay nightclub called Faces in midtown Sacramento. He was taken to Sacramento County Jail and was released after paying a $1400 bail bond. The blog Queerty pointed out that Faces serves $1.00 drinks on Wednesdays.

Suzanne Harthern (Hinn) is the wife of televangelist Benny Hinn. In early February 2010, it was reported that Suzanne filed for divorce after 30 years marriage. According to reports, the couple were legally separated on January 26, 2010, and Pastor Hinn moved out of the family home and into another one of the properties that he owns. She is reportedly being represented by high-profile divorce attorney Sorrell Trope, whose clients have included Nicole Kidman and Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren. After the news of the pending divorce, Benny Hinn Ministries released a statement saying, "Pastor Benny Hinn and his immediate family were shocked to learn of this news without any previous notice. Although Pastor Hinn has faithfully endeavored to bring healing to their relationship, those efforts failed and were met with the petition for divorce that was filed without notice."

Woman killed in freak NHRA accident

A woman was killed at the NHRA Arizona Nationals when a wheel flew off an out-of-control dragster at Firebird International Raceway on Sunday, February 21, 2010. The woman was hit with the rear tire off of hot-rod driver Antron Brown's Matco Tools, U.S. Army dragster vehicle. According to reports, the woman died after she was airlifted to a nearby hospital. As of Monday, February 22, 2010, the victim's name had not been released.

Samantha Bell is the daughter of Joseph Andrew Stack, the man who crashed a plane into the IRS office in Austin, Texas on February 18, 2010. In an interview with Good Morning America on Monday, February 22, 2010, Bell said she considers her father a "hero." She also suggested that Stack, who killed IRS collection agent Vernon Hunter, should be respected for speaking out against the IRS by saying, "I think too many people lay around and wait for things to happen. But if nobody comes out and speaks up on behalf of injustice, then nothing will ever be accomplished."

Joseph Andrew Stack was named as the pilot who crashed into the office building in Austin, Texas on February 18, 2010. According to several reports, Stack may have set his home on fire before crashing into the office building, which housed offices of the CIA and IRS. According to FOX the teenage-daughter of the pilot told authorities that her father had set fire to the house and took off in a plane. Local NTSB authorities said the plane crash may have been intentional. Two people were injured when the single engine Cirrus SR22 crashed into the building, located in North West Austin.3 4
