While I was chatting with a friend nurse overseas, we were talking about his difficulty on doing laundry in the Middle East because of his toxic schedule at work. He told me that since he arrived in Abu Dhabi, he's been working non-stop (he's been there for a month) and regret that he didn't brought a lot of nursing uniform scrubs with him. He instead filled up his suitcase with food that he would miss in the Philippines. I suggested him to buy scrubs online and have it delivered on his place if he is complaining about his busy schedule.

While we're talking about scrubs for men, he mentioned to me about how he desire to get the new HTC HD7, a Windows 7 Phone. This new phone has a 4.3" screen and kickstand for a cinematic experience. He's also a guy who loves games so the power of XBOX Live is something that he could experience in the palm of his hands. It is also made for social networking, listening music and has numerous applications from the marketplace that he could download - perfect entertainment while doing his laundry.

I advised him to buy the phone because it is perfect for a tech-savvy person like him. Although he may not be using the phone during his work hours, he could use the Win7 phone to prevent his homesickness. I also told him that once he has the phone, he could use it to go to the internet and start buying scrubs for men.

Rounding up the big Cherry Mobile Android launch is the Cherry Mobile Magnum HD, a beast of a phone that sports a 1GHz processor and a 4.1-inch WVGA (480 x 800-pixel) capacitive touch screen and goes for a reasonable price of P18,990.
It's a beautiful phone, to say the least, just like Derek Zoolander's mug. It's clean-cut and fast, too, although we weren't able to put it to its paces just yet. 720p HD video recording is made possible via the 5-megapixel camera, and so is HD video playback. If you wish to pump out videos to your HD TV, all you need is an HDMI-D cable and you're good to go.
The Magnum HD is going up against tough competition such as the Samsung Galaxy S and yes, the Apple iPhone 4, but with a price like that, we're quite sure it'll be able to hold its own.

1. Confirm if your phone is capable of Nokia Messaging. To check, text NOKIA to 6677 for free.

2. Choose and register from the Nokia Packages below:

3. Send email, chat or access your Facebook or Twitter account.

a. For Nokia C3 users, go directly to your homescreen, select "Communities" or "Chat" or the "@" icon for email.

b. For other Nokia phone users, download and install the latest Nokia Messaging Email, Chat and/or Communites application from http://messaging.nokia.com. Upon successful installation, go to your homescreen or main menu. Choose "Applications" and select "Email", "Chat" or "Communities".

c. Select your email service provider or Chat/IM Community/Social Network.

You can now start sending and receiving email, chatting or accessing Facebook/Twitter through Nokia Messaging.

Nokia C3 Quick Guide To Minimize Data Charges

Keep off additional data charges outside your Nokia Messaging Data Plan when using Email, Chat and/or Communities apps on the Nokia C3.

Communities (Facebook and Twitter)

1. Go to your phone's home screen and select the middle zone for Communities.

2. Select Close or Cancel > Close to go to Your accounts menu.

3. Select an account (you may have to repeat steps 3 and 4 for each account).

4. Select Options > Disconnect account > Disconnect

5. Select Exit.

Disconnect all accounts and exit Communities app when you are no longer subscribed to a Nokia Messaging Data Plan to avoid additional data charges.

Chat

1. Go to you phone's menu > select Messaging > Chat

2. Select Options > Exit > Sign out all and Close

Sign out from all your accounts and exit the chat app when you are no longer subscribed to a Nokia Messaging Data Plan to avoid additional charges.

Email

1. Go to your Phone's menu > select Mail

2. Select an email service (you may have to repeat Steps 2 to 6 for each email service)

3. Select Options > More > Settings

4. Change "Alert me for new mails" to "Off" or keep it "On" and then specify at a time interval in "Alert me only during" that's covered within your Nokia Messaging Data Plan.

5. Select Options > Save

6. Select Back > Exit

7. Select Exit

Exit the email app when you are no longer subscribed to a Nokia Data Plan to avoid additional data charges.

Manual Data Network Disconnection

Your phone may not automatically disconnect from this data network. You will find a "G" or "E" icon on the upper portion of the home screen when connected to the data network. To avoid unnecessary data charges, manually disconnect the phone from it.

To disconnect the NOkia C3 from the network (no calls, no SMS, no GPRS/EDGE, no WLAN):

1. Select Menu > Settings > Profiles > Flight > Activate

2. Select Yes.

To switch back to network connection mode:

1. Press Ctrl key for 2 seconds.

2. Select Yes.

3. Press Ctrl key for 2 seconds again (this will change Profile from Silent to General.

The Nokia N97 gets a firmware update though with the only notable update being the improved kinetic scrolling. Firmware 21.0.045 promises smoother scrolling along with more bits of improvement for the browser and music player. Unfortunately, over-the-air update is not yet available so you will have to connect your phone to your PC and run the Nokia Software Updater application.
