After months of speculation, the New York Jets seem to be finally parting ways with their stud cornerback Darrelle Revis. This morning, Revis was given permission by the Jets to travel to Tampa Bay for a physical and to negotiate a long term contract. The Bucs would are going to have to give up their first round draft pick (13th overall), but that is a small price to pay for a team that had the worst secondary in the league last season. There was just no way for the Jets to sign Revis to a long term deal giving him 15-16 million dollars a year. I really don't think that kind of money should be paid out to anyone else other than a franchise quarterback. Revis will be the only cornerback in the league right now to be paid over 10 million dollars a year, and this is a guy who is only 6 months removed from ACL surgery! Believe it or not, trading Revis does not free up extra money for the Jets, the move actually costs them an extra 3 million dollars against the cap in 2013. If someone could explain to me how trading a player actually costs you more because that makes no sense at all.

The Jets will now have two picks in the top 15 of the draft on Thursday night. I really do not think they will draft a quarterback with either of those two picks because by all accounts Geno Smith is not a franchise quarterback, and nobody else is worth even looking at in the first round. The second round will most likely be a quarterback round because there are a lot of quarterbacks that are good, but not good enough for the first round. I think the Jets will take another outside linebacker and possibly a play maker like Tavon Austin or Cordarrelle Patterson. There is a lot of holes in this Jet team, but two first round picks will help plug two of those holes. This is a big draft for the Jets because they can't afford to draft any fuck ups with those first round picks as they need studs and they need them now.

So farewell to Revis Island, you will be missed. Hopefully Sanchez does not throw your way Week 1

2013 Masters Preview

Tiger playing a practice round with the 14 year old kid, Guan

Early tomorrow morning, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus will pipe their drives down the middle of the first fairway at Augusta, and the 2013 Masters will be underway. The 120 man field features a 14 year old kid Tianlang Guan who won the Asian amateur tournament to qualify, he drives the ball an average of 250 yards which would be good enough for 66th on the LPGA tour. No chance the kid makes the cut because Augusta National is just too long of a course, but hey what were you doing when you were 14?

Now on to the favorites. The clear favorite is obviously Tiger Woods. He already has 3 wins on tour this year, has the swagger back, and his putting has been flat out lethal ever since the tip from Steve Stricker at the Cadillac Championship. You win the Masters on the putting green, if you remember the 2012 Masters, Tiger finished 40th and couldn't buy a putt all week. That has all changed this year, as a healthy, mentally strong Tiger Woods will tee it up at 10:45 AM on Thursday along side European Luke Donald.

Phil Mickelson will be at the top of the leaderboard as usual, but I don't think he will have what it takes to win it this year. Phil does have a win this year at the Waste Management Open where he was 28 under for the week. That tournament in Arizona if there are 4 guys that played the course at 20 under par for the entire week, so Phil might have won it, but it does not mean a damn thing.

Rory Mcilroy, the number 2 ranked player in the world has struggled this season, but despite his struggles he has two top ten finishes. Rory has been playing in Texas the last two weeks to try and work out the kinks in his game and finished 2nd last week at the Valero Texas Open. Keep in mind there was absolutely nobody at the Valero Texas Open, so take his 2nd place finish with a grain of salt. Rory's career best at Augusta is a tie for 15th place. He should be lurking around the top ten this week, but I don't see him getting all the facets of his game together in time for a win this week.

Keegan Bradley, Matt Kuchar, Dustin Johnson, and Bubba Watson all have great chances to be wearing the green jacket on the 18th green Sunday afternoon. Bubba hasn't done too much winning after winning his first green jacket last year. Keegan and Dustin crush the ball, so they should have a good chance this week if they can keep their drives out of the pine straw.

My pick this week is the obvious one, Tiger Woods. I think his focus is as good as ever. To quote Friday Night Lights "Clear Eyes, full heart, can't lose"

Yankees Blast Indians 11-6

All the asshole beat writers who tried to send the Yankees fans into a panic, can relax because this Yankee team will be just fine. The main reason is that they can still hit home runs and score runs. Robinson Cano got on track today with two homers, Hafner had a 3-run bomb, and Kuroda only gave up three runs in five and a third. Guess what they have reinforcements on the way with Teixeira, Granderson, and Jeter all about a month away from returning to the club. Even if the Yankees are 5 games under .500 at the end of April, they will still have tons of time to make up that ground when they have a healthy ball club. I really don't see any teams being able to grab hold of the division and run with it. The only problem I see with this Yankee team as it stands now, is that Brett Gardner can not continue to lead off if he keeps up this lousy play. He has been absolutely useless at the plate, but they don't have many options because Ichiro hasn't exactly lit up either. Yanks play the Indians again tomorrow night at 7.

This should come as no surprise but Aaron Rodgers is in line for an enormous contract extension, and there are rumors that the Packers will pay 25 million a year. That would make Rodgers the highest paid player in the history of the NFL. Joe Flacco just signed a contract that was for six years and 120 million dollars, but he had the bargaining power of Super Bowl MVP. The Rodgers contract should surpass Flacco's by about 4-5 million dollars a year. Obviously the Packers would never let Rodgers get into the free agent market after the 2014 season, but Rodgers is only 29, and is in the prime of his career. With one ring under his belt, I am sure he will get at least one more ring, but that is dependent on the Packers putting the players around him for this to work out.

National Signing Day , The U

Phil had a chance at 59 on the 9th green, he hit a pure putt, and the ball goes around the hole but does not drop. Phil had a rough week at Torrey Pines last week, but there was no evidence of this on Thursday. Anyway Phil shoots 60 to lead by 4 in the opening round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He tied the course record as well as tied his career best round.

Heat, Cavaliers Interested in Greg Oden

Remember Greg Oden? You know the 7 footer out of Ohio State that was supposed to be the next big thing in the NBA. Well he wants to play basketball again, not this season, but next season. The Miami Heat and Cleveland Caveliers have shown interest for only one reason, he is 7 feet tall. Other than Oden's height, the guy is a injury machine, and was average in the games that he did play in. Here is the rundown on all of Greg Oden's injuries in the last 5 years:

2007-2008 Season- Drafted by the Trailblazers. Microfracture surgery on RIGHT knee. Misses entire season.

2008-2009 Season- Makes NBA debut, leaves debut with injured foot. Misses 2 weeks. February '09 he chips his knee cap and misses 3 weeks.

2009-2010 Season- In December 2009 Oden fractures LEFT patella, has surgery, and missed the rest of the season.

2010-2011 Season- In November 2010 he would have microfracture surgery on his LEFT knee, ending his season right there.

2011-2012 Season- Suffers Setback on left knee. February 3, 2012, Oden has arthroscopic surgery on RIGHT knee. February 20th, supposed to be arthoscopic surgery on LEFT knee, but during surgery there was more damage than originally thought so Microfracture surgery number 2 on his LEFT knee.

Do you see what I am getting at here? Oden has only played a lousy 82 games in the last 5 years, his knees are made of jell-o, and when he did play he only averaged like 10 points a game. I mean if he actually makes it back to the NBA, all the opposing team has to do is step on his toe and he is done for the season because he is made of cheap glass. There is no doubt in my mind he will not make it through the entire 2013-14 season. He is still only 25 years old even though he looks like he is 50, and his knees are about 80, but when you are 7 feet you are 7 feet. Good luck Greg.

A report out of the Miami new times has records from an anti aging clinic in Miami which details drugs that were administered to Alex Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera,Gio Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, and other professional athletes over the past couple years. Alex Rodriguez has admitted to using PED's in 2003, but also said he hasn't used them since then. Anthony Bosch was the person giving these drugs to the athletes, and he was also connected to the PED use of Manny Ramirez. The Miami new times investigated this story for three months before reporting it today. Alex Rodriguez shows up 16 times on the notes detailing drug use of specific players. The notes on A-Rod start in 2009 and go through 2012. Melky Cabrera was already suspended 50 games for PED use, he was mentioned 14 times on the notes from Anthony Bosch. Nelson Cruz has never been connected to HGH or PED's until the report today, the notes on Cruz show that Bosch owed him Troches which is a drug that includes testosterone. Gio Gonzalez, the young Washington Nationals 21 game winner was mentioned only 5 times in the records. Gonzalez's father was also in the records, but daddy Gonzalez insists his son is "clean as apple pie."

The notes were given to the Miami New Times by a former employee of the office, and took the notes before the place closed last month. MLB had this to say on the ongoing investigation "We remain fully committed to following all leads and seeking the appropriate outcomes for all those who use, purchase and are involved in the distribution of banned substances, which have no place in our game." After the investigation is over I am sure there will be suspensions for those who received HGH from Bosch and his clinic. The images detail some of the notes that were gathered from the anti aging clinic.

The notes detail shots of HGH for Alex R. which is Alex Rodriguez, and on the top Bosch's notes had Alex Rodriguez and Melky Cabrera in the top of the "baseball" category. Melky Cabreara and Gio Gonzalez both had career years last season with Melky batting around .350 before his suspension and Gonzalez leading the Nationals with 21 wins. A-Rod did not have a good season even though he apparently was using HGH, and he found himself glued to the Yankee bench in the playoffs against Detroit. Cruz had an average year with 24 home runs, but noting out of the ordinary for Cruz

South Florida has been known as "ground zero" for PED's and HGH. I believe there are more names that will come out because the employee could not have taken every one of Anthony Bosch's notes.

More Updates will Follow

*** Update- In a statement by A-Rod's lawyer , he states that Alex never was treated by Anthony Bosch , and never had any affiliation with Bosch. Of course A-Rod denies it , he has no other choice.

Tiger Woods Wins Farmers Insurance Open

In his first United States PGA start of the season, Tiger Woods is back in the winners circle. Fog delayed the completion of the tournament which resulted in the Monday finish. Tiger missed the cut in Dubai, but likely would have made the cut if not for a two shot penalty on a tricky ruling. Tiger has now won at Torrey Pines a stunning 8 times over the course of his career, including the 2008 U.S. The 8 victories at Torrey Pines are the most for Tiger at any golf course, in a close second is Bay Hill with 7 victories there. Open where he beat Rocco Mediate on a broken leg. Tiger's short game looked great this week, after he changed his swing in 2009 Tiger's short game took a back seat to the swing change. Now that he does not have to hit as many balls tuning his swing, he returned his focus to his short game which was lacking in the last couple years. Woods was in control of pretty much everything this week and he sent a strong message to all the other players out there, he is still the best in the game. Some might say what about Rory ? Tiger is still the best, he hits shots that nobody else in the game can hit, and when Rory and Tiger are at the top of the leaderboard at some point this season, my money is on Tiger. The par 5's this week were no match for Tiger, he was 12 under for the week on Par 5's.
This was his 75th PGA tour win which puts him 7 behind Sam Snead for 2nd place. The PGA tour goes down to Scottsdale this week, and next for Tiger is the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in two weeks.

Carmelo Drops 42, Hits Game Winner as Knicks Beat the Hawks

Carmelo Anthony carried the Knicks on his back on Sunday, Anthony had 42 points on 15-28 shooting, and tied a Knick record with 9 three pointers in the game against the Atlanta Hawks. He also had the game winning layup and a foul with 12.5 seconds left in the game. This was a good bounce back win for the Knicks after not even showing up in Philadelphia. Except for the backup big men, the Knicks are relatively healthy with Stoudemire playing at a high level off the bench, and Raymond Felton in his second game back had a double-double for the Knicks on Sunday. Next up the Knicks host the Raptors Wednesday night at the Garden.

Manti Te'o was Talking to a Guy the Entire Time

Alright by now you have heard every little thing about the Manti Te'o story, but this is just crazy. I always thought Te'o was talking to a girl that was in on the prank with Roniah Tuiasosopo, but apparently it was Roniah the ENTIRE TIME ! How do you talk to a dude for hours upon hours for a year, and not know it is a dude.? We already know Te'o was retarded, but I did not think he was this retarded. This also begs the question is Manti Te'o gay? If that was the explanation for all of this then it is not that crazy of a story, but it is highly doubtful Te'o would come out just a few months away from the NFL draft. ESPN had Te'o's phone logs and Te'o made 110 calls over 60 minutes to "Lennay", I want to know what the hell these guys were talking about for all that time on the phone. Roniah must have used a voice app that makes him sound like a girl because there is absolutley no way he could throw his voice and sound like a girl for an entire year. Is there anything else that could come out in this story or are we finally done with the Manti Te'o saga?

Heres the SNL sketch from last Saturday. I thought it was spot on.

At 3-9 on the season, the Carolina Panthers can pretty much kiss their postseason dreams goodbye. It has been a rough season for the team that thought they would turn the corner this season. Injuries and inconsistency have hurt them, and it all starts at the top with
quarterback Cam Newton.

In the first 12 games of the season, Newton has struggled to match his rookie production. He put together one of his best performances of the season on Monday Night, but was that simply a one-time flashback or something to expect during the rest of the season?

Newton threw for 306 yards and picked up 52 on the ground in his team’s Week 12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. His four touchdowns (two in the air, two on the ground) reminded people just how much talent the man has on the football field. The Eagles defense has struggled most of the year though, so some are skeptical he has truly figured it out again. However, Philadelphia statistically is about average among overall defense in the NFL.

Schedule wise, Newton has a chance to do some damage. They have matchups with the Chargers, Raiders and Saints left on their schedule, meaning four of the five games he gets to pick apart subpar to terrible defenses. The one great team left on the schedule, the Falcons, is a team he had success against earlier in the year, only to falter late.

Some fans wondered if Newton was nursing any type of an injury earlier in the season, but he showed no signs of being banged up on Monday Night against the Eagles. Now that the Panthers do not have the pressure of playing for a playoff spot on their shoulders, Newton can get back to playing a more relaxed game with very little pressure to live up to
lofty expectations.

Whether you are a fan of the Panthers, or you have him in fantasy football, Cam Newton has a great opportunity to finish the season strong. This will help his confidence, the team’s confidence and more if they can get their record to something respectable before the regular season is over. That Super Bowl add the Panthers took out in the Charlotte newspaper might have been a bit premature, but a solid finish to 2012 that leads in 2013 could put them right back on track.

The New Orleans Hornets are about to change their name to the New Orleans Pelicans by as early as next season. They also considered "Krewe" and "Brass" as other names for team. Well either way they went the New Orleans Hornets would have a ridiculous new name, and they decided to go with the most feminine out of the three. I actually had to google "Krewe" and apparently if you don't live in New Orleans than you wouldn't know what a Krewe is. A Krewe is a group of people that organize to march in a parade, specifically at Mardi Gras. What I want to know is what happened to all the other generic names for a professional sports franchise. New Orleans Ninjas is the name i would have went with, just imagine what kind of uniforms you can come up with when the team nickname is Ninja. Michael Jordan has recently said that he one day wants to make the Charlotte Bobcats the Charlotte Hornets again. What MJ wants is what MJ gets i guess.
Another name for the Jordan owned franchise might be the Charlotte Condoms because in general the Charlotte team is useless.

Jovan Belcher Commits Suicide at Chiefs Facility

The police are on the scene at Arrowhead Stadium, where they are reporting an unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player killed his girlfriend, and then turned the gun on himself. Police say that he had shot his girlfriend at his house, than driving over to the stadium and killing himself. Once there is word on who the player is we will provide those details for you, but it is a sad day as the Chiefs will still have to play the Panthers on Sunday.

*** UPDATE-
The Player has been identified as linebacker Jovan Belcher. He first shot his girlfriend multiple times, killing her, and then drove 5 miles to the Chiefs practice facility where he killed himself in front of head coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli. Belcher apparently thanked Crennel and Pioli for all they had done before walking away from them, and shooting himself in the head. Belcher was 25 years old.

Some D3 Basketball Player Scores 138 Points

Color me unimpressed by Jack Taylor. Sure he scored 138 points and that's great and everything, but he also played the lowest of the low in NCAA basketball. If there was a Division 4 you can bet your ass that Faith Baptist Bible would be in it. Jack Taylor took 108 shots from the field, jacked up 71 threes, and only made 27 of the threes. There was even a player on Faith Baptist Bible that dropped 70 on Grinnell. When you shoot the ball 108 times in a 40 minute basketball game there is something wrong with that, and maybe Jack you should consider passing the ball to a teammate. Call me when this kid plays against real competition and not the CYO kiddies league.

The End of Linsanity

Do you know what comes up when you Google "Jeremy Lin?" It's a link to a huffington sports blog question asking "Why has Jeremy Lin started shooting so many air balls this season?" The Jeremy Lin that took the world by storm last February is no more. He is now on a last place Houston Rockets team and he is shooting a putrid 34% from the field. Sure, he still leads the Rockets in assists, but at the end of the day who gives a shit. The Rockets dished out 25 million dollars to bring some electricity to the city of Houston, traded for James Harden, and so far this season it has all been for nothing. The Knicks made one hell of a call, going with Raymond Felton instead of Jeremy Lin. Felton is averaging a full five points more per game and is averaging the same amount of assists, on the way to a 7-1 start for the Knicks.

Shooting 34.2% from the field is good enough for 319th in the NBA, he is even edged out by the third string point guard Pablo Prigioni. Now for those of you out there saying "give the guy a break , its early" the numbers speak for themselves Linsanity is in fact dead. There is talent around Lin, maybe not the talent that was in New York, but the Rockets can score points, the problem is they are 27th in the league in opponents points per game. We all know Jeremy Lin is not known as a defensive Juggernaut.

Could Jeremy Lin turn it around and lead the Rockets to the playoffs? Sure. However, that is not going to happen because as it turns out Jeremy Lin doesn't have the nuts like NBA superstars have, and in the end you want a player with nuts. My prediction is that the Rockets stay in last place and Jeremy Lin even gets talked about at the trading deadline.

Andrew Bynum Out Another 5 weeks

The Philadelphia 76ers will have to wait at least another five weeks before Andrew Bynum can even think about making his debut. The team said that Bynum might need an addition 1-4 weeks after he is cleared to practice for conditioning purposes. Knowing Bynum he will most likely take about two months for him to make his Philadelphia debut, that is without further complications with his knee. The 76er's received Bynum in the Dwight Howard trade after sending away all-star Andre Iguodala, Moe Harkless, Nikola Vucevic, and a future first round pick. Also coming over in the trade was guard Jason Richardson and he has been unavailable due to an ankle injury. Bynum was the big trading piece that the Lakers had to give up in order to land Dwight Howard. If the 76ers knew that Bynum would still be plagued by his right knee I don't think Dwight Howard would be on the Lakers right now, he would either be in Orlando or in Brooklyn with the Nets. Coming off a relatively healthy and very productive season, this news has to be very disappointing to Philly fans as they were hoping Bynum would come in and dominate the paint. Even without Bynum the 76er's are off to a good start at 4-2 on the young season. Don't expect the 7 footer until at least late January, maybe even later.

**Update- It is being reported that Bynum also has an injury to his left knee to go along with the injury to his right knee. Bynum injured his left knee while bowling. Stay tuned next week to see if Bynum injures his shoulder playing tackle football on Thanksgivng.

Tyrann Mathieu and Jordan Jefferson Arrested

Looks like the band is back together !! So much for that rehab stint for Tyrann Mathieu, he was charged with simple possession of marijuana when cops showed up at his apartment, and immediately smelled the weed. According to police they found 10 bags of "high grade" marijuana, as well as a grinder. Looks like Mathieu has relatively no chance at all of returning to LSU's football team. As for Jefferson his chances in the NFL were 0 to begin with so all he does is add to his criminal record .There were two other former LSU football players involved , but nobody gives a shit about either of them . If you look carefully you might see Jefferson working at your local Baton Rouge gas station , ask for an autograph !!

Islanders Moving to Brooklyn

The New York Islanders are moving out of that dump they call the Nassau Collesium and they are going to the brand, billion dollar Barclays Center in Brooklyn. As Nets forward Kris Humphries said" billion is better", unfortunately the move to Brooklyn does not promise a better Islander hockey team. The Islanders signed a 25 year lease to play at the Barclays Center, they are set to move to Brooklyn in 2015 after their current lease is expired at the Nassau Collesium. Islanders owner Charles Wang said at the press conference that there were "very good" offers to move the team out of the state, but ultimately decided against a bigger move. The Barclays Center will only be able to hold about 15,000 fans for hockey games, which is only about a thousand less than the Nassau Collesium.

In other news, at the Islander press conference today, commisioner Gary Bettman said he is not optimistic about having an 82 game regular season. Well thats no fucking surprise because the NHL is asking players to take a 7 percent cut in the revenue sharing. The recently expired CBA had the revenue share at 57 percent for the players and 43 percent for ownership. All signs are pointing to big chunks of games being cancelled in the near future which of course puts the 2012-2013 hockey season in doubt. This is the third lockout under commisioner Gary Bettman and could be the second cancelled season in his tenure. NHL just doesn't get it, the sport is nearing all time popularity highs, and somehow ownership can't make a deal to get the players back on the ice. People always wonder why the NHL is the least popular of the 4 major sports in the United States, lockouts and cancelled games are a major factor.

Week 7 NFL Picks

After taking two weeks off, I am back making NFL picks. Through the first four weeks I think I only picked one game right, but who really cares. There is some big games across the NFL in week 7, with the AFC leading Ravens and Texans facing off, and the AFC East First/Last place rivals going at it with the Jets and Patriots.

Ravens(+7) vs Texans- Where the hell did Vegas get this line ? Sure the Texans are good and the Ravens did lose Ray Lewis for the season, but give me a fucking break with Texans giving 7. From what Ive seen from Schaub, he can't lead the team to victory if god forbid someone stops Arian Foster. I think the Ravens will find a way to stop the running game, and that spells trouble for Houston. BAL 24-17

Jets(+11) vs Patriots - As a die hard Jets fan I am going with the Jets to not only cover this ridiculous spread, but the Jets will win outright as well. I know what you guys are saying " Brady and Belichick coming off a loss, your a idiot Andrew." I got news for everybody, this isn't the normal Patriots that you are accustomed to and they are losing two in a row to fall under .500. Rex is bringing the heat all day against Tom. NYJ 31-29

Sure Thing- GB- 5 over STL. GB 42-20

CC Sabathia to undergo tests on elbow

One day after the New York Yankees were swept in the American League Championship Series by the Detroit Tigers, General Manager Brian Cashman announced CC Sabathia would have his throwing elbow checked out during the off-season. Sabathia couldn't make it out of the fourth inning of Game 4 and admitted himself that he pitched "terrible." Cashman didn't go into detail, but he did say that Sabathia's elbow would get examined "whether he wants to or not." Although this is preliminary, it doesn't seem too promising for Yankee supporters. Sabathia was placed on the disabled list earlier in the year because of discomfort in his throwing elbow, and considering CC has pitched more innings than any pitcher since 2008, this can't be a good sign for New York Yankee fans.

New York Giants rookie RB David Wilson: "I'll be in the Hall of Fame"

Wait what? Did he really just say what I think he said?

New York Giants rookie running back David Wilson believes he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame once it's all said and done. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about self-confidence, but this is straight up arrogant. After fumbling his way into Tom Coughlin's doghouse, it looks like Wilson has his swagger back after a few solid games as a backup running back and kick returner.

Wilson was quoted as saying, "I'm like birth control, 99.9 percent of the time I'm going to come through for you." I'm not sure if Wilson attended that NFL Rookie Seminar, but he should probably learn how to talk to the media better, especially with a no-nonsense guy like Tom Coughlin as his head coach. Hopefully some of the veterans in the Giants locker room can talk some sense into this dude before he makes himself look more foolish. The only thing dumber I can think of off the top of my head is when Vince Young declared he would be the "next Black quarterback to win the Super Bowl." (Yes, that is a direct quote.)

Does anyone remember the last time a backup running back with 15 career carries predicted they would be in the Hall of Fame? Na, me neither.

P.S. If it wasn't for Tampa Bay jumping back into the first round of the 2012 NFL draft to snag Doug Martin, Wilson wouldn't even be on the Giants.

Seattle @ San Francisco -7

The 49ers are 4-0 straight up and against the spread when coming off a regular season loss under head coach Jim Harbaugh and have yet to allow a touchdown in those four games. Seattle is a completely different team on the road and this game looks like it could be a let down considering the Seahawks beat the Patriots four short days ago. In Seattle's three road games, they lost to the Cardinals and Rams, with their only win coming against a 1-4 Carolina squad. (They beat Dallas, Green Bay and New England in their three home games.)

After an embarrassing home loss to the Giants last week, look for San Francisco to make a statement in tonight's game. The Niners are 10-2-1 ATS at home since Harbaugh took over (with both losses coming against the New York Giants) while opposing head coach Pete Carroll is 7-12-1 ATS on the road during his tenure in Seattle.

San Francisco averages 6.2 yards per play, while the Seahawks only average 5.0 per play. Seattle runs the ball more than any other team in the NFL, so if the Niners can contain Marshawn Lynch and force rookie quarterback Russell Wilson to beat them through the air they should be fine.

P.S. Harbaugh and Carroll aren't the best of friends and have a strained relationship that dates back to their PAC-10 days. Don't expect either of these coaches to pull any punches back in this one.

Here is the the lineup for the Yankees in game 4 against Detroit.

Ichiro
Swisher
Cano
Teixeira
Ibanez
Chavez
Martin
Gardner
Nunez

No A-Rod for the second straight game. Also Granderson found his way on to the bench. What a pathetic lineup for an elimination game, I understand A-Rod and Granderson have struggled this post-season, but Gardner and Chavez are not the answer to the problems. Chavez is a horrendous 0-14 and Gardner went 0-4 in his first start in 6 months. At least with A-Rod and Granderson there is the potential for home runs. Expect the offense to continue their struggles. Fucking clipboard Joe at it again.

Only hope is CC goes 9 shutout innings, and Ichiro singles than steals 2nd, 3rd,and home.

2012 Week 6 Monday Night Football selection

Denver @ San Diego PK

After finally starting to catch fire during this young NFL season, the books slapped me around yesterday and I'm starting to cool off a bit. After posting a 6-1-1 record during the past two weeks, I went 0-2 yesterday thanks to the Eagles choking in the fourth quarter and Houston not showing up for their toughest game yet, at home on National Television.

Everything inside of me (brain, heart, instincts etc.) is telling me to take the Broncos, but when it comes to NFL wagering, it's not that simple. In fact, when you do come across instances like this, it is best to go against what you believe and choose the other team. That is the NFL logic that I have come to acquire throughout the years. In the NFL, a team is neither as bad nor as good as their previous game, and we often tend to become prisoners of the moment, which is the last thing you want to be in the sports betting world. Denver is clearly the better team out of the two in my opinion, but that doesn't always mean they will win, let alone cover the point spread.

Now this may sound stupid and unimportant to some, but I've read various articles indicating Manning could have trouble dealing with the San Diego home crowd, as well as their secondary. Peyton has lost five out of his last six games against the Chargers, including a 23-21 loss in 2007 at San Diego in which Manning threw a career-high (and franchise record) six interceptions. The last time Manning faced the Chargers was at home in the RCA dome, but the Colts lost and Peyton ended up throwing four picks. Manning is well-known for his play calling at the line of scrimmage, but look for the San Diego crowd to get rowdy and potentially affect Peyton's ability to orchestrate the offense at the line. San Diego opened up as three points favorites so there is some serious value on the Chargers considering they are now slated as a PK. As I mentioned before, Denver is clearly the better team in my eyes, but the value is on San Diego, and in sports betting it's all about value. I also like the 'under' in this one, but I don't have enough confidence to bet it.

P.S. Philip Rivers is 9-3 against the Broncos in his career. His completion percentage in those twelve games is 63.8% and his passer rating is 102.7.

Fantasy Prediction: Antonio Gates 5+ catches, 75+ yards, 1 TD
