The Nikon D3100 just released just a few weeks ago might be the best digital camera for the holiday 2010 holiday season due in part to the ease of use, full HD video recording and excellent low light capability with and included zoom lens that offers not only image stabilization built in, but an outstanding zoom range as well.

Megapixels is still how a lot of the best digital cameras are rated and the Nikon D3100 does not disapppoint with 14.2 megapixels using the fast and new EXPEED 2 processor an 11 point autofocus system and low light sensitivity up to 12,800 ISO.

HD video recording is a must for any digital camera in 2010 as popular websites such as facebook and youtube continue to grow in popularity, more and more consumers want to buy a digital camera that will not only produce great still images but also HD video as well. Video recording is now easy and affordable with the Nikon D3100. Full HD at 1080p and full time autofocus and sound recording all come standard on the Nikon D3100.

Ease of use is definitely the theme with the Nikon D3100 and everything is well thought out whether you’re a photographer beginning in the hobby or an advanced amateur who just wants a small lightweight DSLR without the weight and bulk of a full pro dslr kit, the D3100 includes and excellent 18-55mm zoom lens with image stabilization built in to the lens, the Nikon also offers an easy to use guide mode that walks you through the settings you need for the shot you want or need.

Not only can you use the LCD display to review your photos and videos on the big and a bright LCD display, but with the touch of a dedicated button, the Nikon D3100 turns the LCD into a live view viewfinder allowing you to shoot with the Nikon D3100 much like you would a point and shoot digital camera.

The Nikon D3100 is a small compact camera with an impressive feature set that’s hard to beat for the price

The iPod Nano 5th Generation has rapidly become one of my favorite tech gadgets and I take it virtually everywhere I go. First of all, let me say that I am a pretty big fan of all Apple products and I’m always looking forward to new products in their line-up or upgrades to their products. When Apple announced the new iPod Nano I knew that I had to have one. I love doing reviews of the products I buy so I took the time to do an iPod Nano 5th Generation Review.

The first thing that strikes you about the Nano is the small size and light weight. You cannot even feel this little tech toy in your pocket and the sound it produces is mind-blowing to say the least. With a good set of lightweight headphones, you will just not believe the sound quality. I especially like to use my iPod Nano for workouts. I use to carry my iPhone with me a lot but it is very big and bulky when trying to get a workout in. There are 2 other very cool features I use when working out. i love the fact that the Nano has a pedometer installed. I just turn it on and it records the number of steps I take. I also use it in conjunction with the Nike+ website to keep a record of my workouts. It works very well and i highly recommend that you sync your Nano with the Nike website. It’s free.

I use the stopwatch feature a lot also to time my runs and walks.

Did I mention video? That is the absolutely number one reason I bought the Nano 5th generation. You cannot believe the quality of the videos this little gadget produces. It’s very easy and you can take it with you anywhere. I’m very impressed with the audio that it produces also. Take a video and then simply plug it into your computer. it will automatically detects a new video and downloads it to your computer. If you have been looking for a very small mini video player, consider the iPod Nano 5th Generation Camera as your new “carry it with you everywhere” camera.

It has only been a few days since the new iPod touch 4G was released and already there has been an awful lot of interest. So let’s take a look at just why it is so popular and what some of the new features are.

The fact is that the screen technology has moved on a pace. With pixels smaller than ever before the display is super smooth and seamless. Text and images are much sharper than ever before. And owners are really excited about just how smooth the touch screen now is.

With the ability to play games with others in real time the new iPod touch 4g really is a leap forward in terms of technology.

But it is the addition of 2 cameras that has really got people excited. There is an outward facing camera for taking normal photographs, and you can also film in HD. But what people really love is the face time application. There is a camera that faces us so we can either take self portraits, film ourselves or actually have direct visual conversations with others who have an apple account.

It is definitely the face time application that has got people the most excited. The ability to see others as you talk, just as they can see you, is a large step forward in terms of interactivity. This is definitely a far cry from a simply mp3 player. The new 4th generation iPod touch really has so many new additions it would be hard to list them all. But with better processors, faster speeds, interactive gaming and the ability to edit film directly from the screen it is a tech gadget that we will see more and more people be interested in over the coming months. This is certainly going to be a very hot item at Christmas time.

High Frequency Trading (HFT) is big business. By some estimates, it accounts for up to 70% of trading in the US Equities markets. But how has it evolved to this point? Who are the key players that lead the way in the development of high frequency trading systems?

Let us start by looking at the various types of participants there are in the marketplace. First of all, you can split the participants into the “buy side” and the “sell side”. The buy-side are the firms (or individuals) who actually take positions. They range from individual investors like you and I, who might have a portfolio containing a number of chosen stocks, to multi-million dollar fund managers managing mutual funds and pension funds that contain vast positions. Also on the buy-side are proprietary trading firms who trade for their own account, as well as hedge funds, who manage money on behalf of a select group of investors.

The sell-side consists of the investment banks and brokerage firms who act as intermediaries in the market, that is they take an order from a buy-side client and execute that order in the marketplace. As such, they don’t hold positions themselves but the bigger firms may execute many millions of transactions per year on behalf of their customers.

So, let’s get back to high frequency trading systems. Which market participants are really driving innovation in this area? Well, first of all, you may be surprised to learn that the real innovation is happening at some of the smaller proprietary trading firms. These firms are constantly tweaking their algorithms and quantitative models to ensure they keep their edge ahead of the rest of the market. Typically these firms are not taking a “long view”, they might in fact only hold a position for minutes (or even fractions of a second). Because they are constantly trading in and out of the market for small profits, they have to ensure that their systems are faster than everybody else’s.

Some of the more innovative hedge funds pick up on what those trading firms are doing and adopt similar technology. That then filters through to bigger, more established hedge funds and sell-side firms. Typically the last ones in the chain to latch on to this high frequency trading technology are the asset management firms, mutual fund managers and retail investors, which is probably why they are the ones who are most vocal in their criticism of HFT!

If you would like to find out more about high frequency and algorithmic trading, please visit the High Frequency Trading Review, where you will find a number of interviews with leading practitioners in the field.

The latest Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera, model DMC-FH20 14.1 MP, has 8x optical stabilized image zoom. It has a 2.7-inch LCD, red in color and is considered as a comparatively good digital camera with respect to its cost-effectiveness at 200$. It has a 1.1 mega pixel lens and is being hailed as the best that the market has to offer today. It is being rated highly for its quick snaps with amazing resolution quality. Apart from these, it has a 28mm wide-angle lens, which ensures more space for large group photos, and even wider space that is not available with the usual 35mm cameras.

One of the main attractions of the Panasonic Lumix Digi Cam is its 8x optical zoom for images. There are other cameras within the same price bracket, which don’t offer an 8x optical zoom and provide up to 3x zoom only. Hence, one is not able to capture various objects closely. Some of these include animals and other far off objects. Hence, the 8x optical zoom is the outstanding feature of the camera making it a front-runner in the competitive race.

The camera is a must-have and an instant guide to anyone who is not willing to learn the nuances of photography and can enjoy the Auto Mode feature installed on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 digital camera. The auto mode features helps in clicking the best possible snaps at the best possible resolutions and settings. Hence, the iA mode of the camera chooses the best possible settings for clicking snaps that even we can’t choose for the right or the perfect snap.

Apart from its amazing snapshots from the 14.1 mega-pixel lens, it can also record high-definition movies at resolutions 1280 x 720 in the feasible JPEG format. And the 2.7-inch LCD is important for capturing some breath-taking photographs and recording videos in yet low light settings.

All in all, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 is an easy-to-use and easy-to-carry digital camera, which will become your companion in no time. Most importantly, the 8x optical zoom is the one feature that helps in capturing even the distant objects clearly and helps in taking high-resolutions snaps. But there is a slight glitch to the technology that it’s not available with HD video recording.

With respect to the cost and the effective 14.1 mega-pixel lens, the DMC-FH20 is a good digital camera. Its portability along with a tripod makes it a decent choice on tours, traveling and outdoor shoots as well.

Being concerned with security is a normal feeling that everybody experiences every day. From the moment people go out of their homes, thoughts about safety are already in their minds. Knowing that security threats are everywhere, it is very important that preventive measures are done in order to provide protection. As human beings, it is an instinct of survival to preserve and protect one’s life.

The security systems of the past have evolved. From the old, traditional door knob and padlock to the new and more secure keyless door lock. This safety system can be used on homes, apartments, offices, warehouses and other entry points wherein you want to put a door lock. They are made from state of the art technology to meet your security needs.

These door locks don’t require a key therefore sparing you the hassle and burden of bringing one. There are a lot of keyless locks being sold out there in the market. There are locks that require a certain combination of numbers and there are also those that require the fingerprint of the authorized person. With this method, restricted access to homes or office is prevented, giving peace of mind. It doesn’t only stop unauthorized entry, but it also limits the people who are entering into a certain zone at the office, thus limiting the number of people responsible in case something is lost or goes wrong in that area.

Because of the increase in theft, many companies and homeowners have chosen to use these advanced security systems. These door locks are gaining more popularity because of the better security yet much easier access it provides. No more key duplication required and you will never have to be troubled by the idea of losing keys. Biometric deadbolts are one of those keyless door locks that are more secure. This is because it has deadbolts that are resistant to picking.

These keyless door locks were once expensive when they are first introduced. But now, their prices have decreased due to the increasing demand of a much better and safer security. These devices are simple and uncomplicated to install and don’t require a lot of work. Most of these locks can fit on holes that are from traditional locks. There are also designs that are complicated but it really depends on what you like and what suits your establishment. No matter what design or feature you choose, the bottom line is that you, your family, your business and the other important things in your life are protected.

Outsourcing is becoming a huge money saving operation. The most common jobs being outsourced to other countries are customer service jobs. Call centers rely completely on their communication equipment, and many, many call centers are using communication devices from Plantronics. With over 40 years of supplying the world with communication applications, Plantronics is one of the largest suppliers of communications applications for contact centers the world over. Have a look at the latest products from Plantronics to see which ones would suit your needs best.

Plantronics CS55
The CS55 is one of the newest headsets in the cordless division. The new CS55’s battery can last up to ten hours without having to be recharged. Additionally, it recharges up to eighty percent battery power in only one hours’ time. If you are looking for a cordless headset that can last long hours at a time, the CS55 may just be the one for you.

Plantronics CS361N
The CS361N is a great model that sits snugly on your head. A pair of clear speakers and microphone with specialized noise reduction makes this the perfect model if you work in a loud atmosphere with other employees on the telephone nearby. Ideally, you would want high cubicles for call center jobs, but some contact centers do not provide this. Make the best you can out of it with the CS361N noise reduction cordless headset.

Plantronics CS70N
This light earpiece rests nicely behind your ear. Completely wire free, you can answer calls and talk to clients even when you are busy typing or walking the office. The CS70N system is ideal for busy executives or hard working professionals who need to multitask. The CS70N microphone is not good for loud atmospheres, as it has no option to reduce noise levels. If you need a good set for private offices, though, it works great.

The Canon T1i is the best selling digital camera from Canon for so long now, in fact this small and compact dslr has graced the best camera lists for over two years and counting.

And when you add up the small size, price, and the fact that it will record high definition video, offers 15 Megapixels of resolution, and comes standard with a small yet capable zoom lens that offers image stabilization, not only is the Canon EOS Rebel T1i a great deal, it’s fun to use.

I find that now that I’m older that dragging around a bag full of lenses and accessories is not only not fun, but it interrupts my shooting style. I still might bring all my photo stuff when I’m out shooting but sometimes you just want to tuck a capable digital camera under your arm ‘just in case’ and I find the Canon EOS T1i is a perfect fit for just that task.

That’s not to say the Canon EOS T1i isn’t a professional digital camera, because it is and is easy to use, shoots high resolution video with fast operation and start up times and it offers 15 megapixels of resolution and that’s enough for great looking high resolution prints up to 20 inches wide.

One of the best things l love about my Canon EOS Rebel T1i, aside from how cheap it was, is the video recording, because it’s so much fun. Your subjects expect to see either a small camera like a flip recorder or a big camcorder and because this digital camera shoots video, but still looks like a still camera – I find I get lots of neat angles and video I wouldn’t get with shooting with other more standard video cameras.

To summarize I have no regrets with the Canon EOS Rebel T1i and I fully recommend it to anyone looking to buy a digital camera that won’t break the bank

What are the things that you need to know before buying the Panasonic DMP-BD85? Well, this is one of the premier Blu-Ray players from Panasonic, but you should learn about the advantages and shortcomings of this player before you get one. This will get you prepared for the performance of your player once you have installed it with your home theater system.

After the success of the BD80, Panasonic came up with new players that has additional features. It took the limelight from the BD80 when Panasonic DMP-BD85 and Panasonic DMP-BD65 were introduced. These players have the same image processing technology and 7.1 channel analog audio output. Panasonic never fails to bring out vibrant colors and true sound with its players.

Let’s start with the impressive features that this player has. The Panasonic DMP-BD85 has the Motion Adaptive Chroma Upsampler which is responsible for the amazing picture quality of this player. Also, the upscaling of DVDs is great and you can watch your movies and feel like you are in the cinema. The sound delivery of the DMP-BD85 uses 5.1 or 7.1 surround system for high clarity audio without artifacts. With an HDMI connection, you get wonderful image and true sound quality.

However, there have been negative feedbacks on this player. This Blu-Ray player, despite the Quick Start option, has a very slow booting speed. It takes several second to load a standard DVD and half a minute to start a Blu-Ray disc. Also, the access to BD-Live content requires you to get a separate SDHC or SD card with at least 1G memory. Most annoying of all is that Wi-Fi is not built-in. You have to always remember to plug in the square adapter for you to go wireless.

You will get use to the limitations of the BD85 as you continue to use it. The player indeed has great video and audio output, despite the fact that t is quite limited in terms of Wi-Fi and booting speed.

These days, WordPress is the venue of choice for the majority of new blogs, and quite a few non-blog sites as well. And why not? It’s extremely flexible, easy to use, and free!

I recently finished reading the book Build Your Own Wicked WordPress Themes, which was written by a group of people who do exactly that for a living: write and sell WordPress Themes. So what does it take to be a WordPress theme designer?

Well, as it turns out…not that much! A WordPress theme is just a collection of PHP and CSS files, most of which have already been created for you; while you can start from scratch, it’s much easier to use premade components and save yourself a lot of work. Such components, called theme frameworks, provide all of the basic functionality your site needs, which leaves you free to concentrate on the site’s look and feel. Accordingly, you can create an entire custom look just by writing one CSS file.

But what if you don’t know CSS? Fortunately, it’s not hard to learn; in fact, I got a crash course in it myself just by looking at the existing CSS files for the theme framework I was using and modifying them to get the look that I (or, more accurately, my wife) wanted; I also read three chapters in a CSS book to learn the basics. In less than a week, I had a new theme put together that looks better than 99% of the available free themes and fits our website’s content much better as well. Win! Don’t settle for the same look at thousands of other people – built your own custom WordPress themes!

I’ve written in more detail about the experience on my book review website, where I’m also in the process of posting reviews on numerous other technical books, mostly by O’Reilly.
