Season 11 | Edition 50
June 8, 2026

SUMMARY: This psalm, a profound lament rooted in the historical devastation of Jerusalem and the temple in 586 BC, captures the raw anguish of God’s people under divine judgment and foreign oppression. Centered on the cry of abandonment—‘How long, O God?’—it moves from despair to a bold, covenant-based appeal, grounding hope in God’s eternal power, redemptive history, and unchanging character. The preacher emphasizes that true prayer is not passive but engages God with reasoned arguments drawn from His nature, past faithfulness, and sacred promises, especially the covenant with His people. It calls believers to intercede not for personal gain, but for the honor of God’s name and the vindication of His cause, recognizing that the church is not human property but the Lord’s eternal possession. Ultimately, the psalm models a faith that wrestles with suffering while trusting in God’s sovereignty and ultimate justice.

We know that you have warned us time and again about your moral law and your command that we love you and others. We also know that we fall short of your demands, and we lament it. Yet, Father, your discipline for us is good because it makes us more like your Son. We pray for you to use these times to sanctify us completely. We also pray for you to protect your people according to your covenant promises. Though we often see your church under attack, we also know that you will never abandon us to those who seek our ruin. You are faithful and kind. You are good to your redeemed people. You have given us your Son, and in him we are no longer condemned. We are like them, our God. We are pilgrims and exiles living in a country that is not our home. We struggle at times as we see the ruinous nature of our world brought about by sin. You have left us here to be useful salt and light in this world. You have commanded us to disciple the nations and proclaim peace and liberty to those ensnared in sin. You tell us to store up treasures in heaven and not on this earth. You command us to deny ourselves, take up the cross, and gladly follow the Savior. Indeed, you have redeemed us for these things. Yet, Father, we sometimes grow weary. Therefore, you give us times of refreshment for our souls. You give us one day in seven to be honored by your people. It is on this day that we stand and hear the Word of God read and preached, and we ask that you would make us willing to hear and do what we hear. Please grant us hearts of repentance for the many ways we have failed to seek first your kingdom and righteousness. Forgive us for setting our minds on the things of this earth rather than on you, seated in the heavenly places. Please give us receptive hearts today and move us, through the Eternal Spirit, to love and adore you. Grant us hearts that long to see your glory displayed in our neighborhoods and cities. Change us, our God, for we know that we are creatures of dust and we stand in desperate need of the bread of life. Please revive us, again, our God. Change us and help us so we can see the nations, countries, and our cities changed for the sake of Christ and his eternal kingdom. Please, Father, work through your Word today and show us your glory, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

You are the one who orders all things according to the counsel of your infinitely wise will. You have decreed all things, and nothing comes to pass without your direct care and involvement. You govern the affairs of men, and you especially watch over the actions and events of your Redeemed people. Though we are made in your image, we have been subjected to the fall into sin committed by Adam. We are, therefore, sinners, and we not only witness the effects of it in our walk with you, but we also see it in our bodies as they grow old. It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Because of sin, our bodies are decaying moment by moment. Each day, we see the effects of this fallen world on us. As we age, we feel the aches and pains of this life. We find ourselves tiring easily and struggling to remember the most basic things. We know that you have appointed unto us the day of our death, and nothing we do will stop that from happening. Yet, we also know that you are faithful to us and, in Christ, we have no reason to fear what will come tomorrow. We are held by your hand in life and death. AS we age, we are thankful that we can remember your faithfulness to us through all the years of our lives. Additionally, Father, we desire to be useful to those who come behind us. Help us to teach them and model for them a faithful, steady, and persevering walk with you. Please help us to teach them your ways and commands. Please give us strength and help us not to grow weary in doing good, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Season 11 | Edition 49
June 3, 2026

SUMMARY: This sermon reflects on Psalm 71 as a profound meditation on aging, faithfulness, and divine purpose, portraying an elderly individual whose life is marked by enduring trust in God despite physical decline and isolation. Centered on the psalmist’s plea not to be forsaken in old age, the message emphasizes that God’s faithfulness remains constant even as strength wanes and memories fade. The preacher highlights the spiritual value of the elderly in the church, urging them to continue proclaiming God’s righteousness and salvation to younger generations, thus affirming that age does not diminish one’s usefulness in God’s kingdom. Drawing from the psalm’s themes of divine refuge, lifelong worship, and intergenerational testimony, the sermon calls believers to embrace aging not with fear or despair, but with hope, continuity, and purpose rooted in God’s unchanging character.

Indeed, we see the effects of it in our lives and the many ways in which we are assaulted because we know and love the Lord Jesus. We know that all who desire to live a godly life will be persecuted. We know that your enemies are our enemies. We know that you are ready and able to help us in all circumstances. Yet, Father, it is during times of great struggle that we are prone to failure. It is then that we need your help and guidance. Please, Father, help us, your poor and needy children. Deliver us from the hands of those who seek our ruin. Deliver us from the lies that are often told. Grant us grace and peace in a world that lacks it. Be pleased to cause us to rejoice in your for we know that you are for us and will deliver us because you alone are powerful and mighty. Thank you, our God, for your constant care, we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Season 11 | Edition 48
June 2, 2026

SUMMARY: This sermon on Psalm 70 presents a powerful cry for divine intervention in the midst of personal suffering and opposition, emphasizing the urgency of turning to God in times of distress. Centered on the psalmist’s plea for God to act swiftly, the message highlights the spiritual reality of godless individuals who live in moral confusion, delight in the suffering of the righteous, and seek to destroy through slander and deceit. Yet, amid this turmoil, the believer is called to respond not with fear or retaliation, but with joyful confidence in God’s sovereignty, declaring ‘God is great’ even in poverty and need. The preacher underscores that God’s timing is perfect, and though He may delay, His presence as help and deliverer remains unshaken. Ultimately, the sermon calls the faithful to approach God as a loving Father with urgent, trusting prayer, knowing that His power surpasses every earthly threat.

June 1, 2026

SUMMARY: This sermon centers on Psalm 68:1–3, drawing a stark contrast between the ultimate fate of God’s enemies and the enduring joy of the righteous. It emphasizes that while the wicked—symbolized by melting wax and dissipating smoke—will perish before the holy and powerful God, the righteous, who are made right through Christ’s imputed righteousness, will rejoice with jubilant, unshaken joy. The preacher underscores the reality of spiritual warfare, highlighting that believers are pilgrims in a hostile world, opposed by both the ungodly system and Satan, yet assured of divine victory. Rooted in the doctrine of justification by faith alone, the message calls Christians to find hope and strength in Christ, who is their ultimate Captain and the source of their security. The tone is both pastoral and convicting, reminding listeners of their identity in Christ while urging steadfast faith amid present trials.

Though you have saved us and placed us on the solid rock, which is Christ, you have purposed to leave us in this sin-wrecked world as your servants and ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ. As such, we find that we are often attacked by those who hate you. We see the opposition of all that you call good and right. We see people who hate you and your Word calling evil good and good, evil. We know they will come to an end. We know that the days of exalting themselves will soon perish as wax melts before the flame. We thank you, our God, for your care and protection in this world. We thank you for saving us through the righteousness of Christ. For that, we can praise you and find true joy in a godless world. Please continue to bless us and help us, we pray and ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We are especially thankful for your wonderful work of redemption, by which we are made able to come before you and pray and plead for the things we need. We know this privilege did not come without a great cost, for it took the death of your beloved Son to give us this access into the very throne room of the Most High. We come as beggars today, pleading with you for your grace and kindness. We ask you to pour out your favor on us as you did for your redeemed people of old. It was then that you showed you are a God full of lovingkindness. You took them by the hand and led them from their place of misery to the place of rest. We ask of you, our Father, to make your face shine on us as the noonday sun. We pray for your ways to be known in the world and among the nations. We pray for you to move all men everywhere to praise you and sing for joy because only in you is the fullness of joy. We thank you for making us love and honor you. We ask that we would do so with the help of your Spirit this day and every day. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
