Season 11 | Edition 52
June 10, 2026

SUMMARY: Psalm 76 proclaims the sovereign victory of God over evil, revealing Christ as the ultimate conqueror whose apparent defeat on the cross secured eternal triumph for His people. Centered on the imagery of divine judgment and deliverance, the psalm portrays God as a fearsome yet protective King who establishes His rule in Zion, the spiritual heart of His people, where He breaks the weapons of war and subdues the proud. Though believers still journey through a world of trial, they are already victorious in Christ, who fulfills the promise of the Lion of Judah, returning to judge the wicked and bring His redeemed into eternal rest. The call to fear God, make vows, and offer worship reflects the proper posture of reverence before a holy, righteous, and triumphant King, whose justice and mercy are perfectly united in the cross. This psalm thus serves as both a solemn warning to the unrepentant and a profound encouragement to the faithful, assuring them that God’s final victory is certain and His protection is unshakable.

You are faithful, keeping your promises to thousands, guiding and directing the church to the place of their eternal rest. In the days of old, you protected your covenant people as they languished in Egypt. You watched over them when the Babylonians took them as exiles. You restored them to the place of your choosing, and the people turned to you, repenting of sin. You have given your people victory through the labor of the Lord Jesus Christ. In him, we have a sure hope of the future. Though your people are often harassed, you watch over them from your heavenly abode and bring victory to them. Please help us to trust you, our God. Please help us to look past the struggles of this life and focus our minds on the Lion of Judah. WE know he will vindicate us. We know he will conquer all his and our enemies. Please grant us a greater trust in him, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Season 11 | Edition 51
June 9, 2026

SUMMARY: This sermon centers on Psalm 75 as a profound meditation on divine sovereignty, gratitude, and the ultimate justice of God. It opens with a call to thanksgiving rooted in God’s wondrous deeds, emphasizing that gratitude is a vital antidote to discontent and complaint. The message unfolds with a powerful declaration of God’s appointed judgment, affirming that He alone upholds creation, subdues pride, and exalts or humbles individuals according to His righteous will. The sermon highlights the cup of God’s wrath in verse 8 as fulfilled in Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice, where Jesus bore the full weight of divine judgment on the cross. Ultimately, the psalm’s purpose is to inspire perpetual praise and confidence in God’s justice, reminding believers that they are protected, guided, and spared from judgment through Christ’s atonement, making thanksgiving both a response and a foundation for faith.

You have promised to protect us and vindicate us from the words and actions of evil and wicked people. You alone establish all things, and you alone will bring them to pass according to your infinite wisdom. For these things, and many more, we praise you, our God.
Season 11 | Edition 50
June 8, 2026

SUMMARY: This psalm, a profound lament rooted in the historical devastation of Jerusalem and the temple in 586 BC, captures the raw anguish of God’s people under divine judgment and foreign oppression. Centered on the cry of abandonment—‘How long, O God?’—it moves from despair to a bold, covenant-based appeal, grounding hope in God’s eternal power, redemptive history, and unchanging character. The preacher emphasizes that true prayer is not passive but engages God with reasoned arguments drawn from His nature, past faithfulness, and sacred promises, especially the covenant with His people. It calls believers to intercede not for personal gain, but for the honor of God’s name and the vindication of His cause, recognizing that the church is not human property but the Lord’s eternal possession. Ultimately, the psalm models a faith that wrestles with suffering while trusting in God’s sovereignty and ultimate justice.

Yet, Father, your discipline for us is good because it makes us more like your Son. We pray for you to use these times to sanctify us completely. We also pray for you to protect your people according to your covenant promises. Though we often see your church under attack, we also know that you will never abandon us to those who seek our ruin. We are like them, our God. We are pilgrims and exiles living in a country that is not our home. We struggle at times as we see the ruinous nature of our world brought about by sin. You have left us here to be useful salt and light in this world. You have commanded us to disciple the nations and proclaim peace and liberty to those ensnared in sin. You tell us to store up treasures in heaven and not on this earth. You command us to deny ourselves, take up the cross, and gladly follow the Savior. Indeed, you have redeemed us for these things. Yet, Father, we sometimes grow weary. Therefore, you give us times of refreshment for our souls. You give us one day in seven to be honored by your people. It is on this day that we stand and hear the Word of God read and preached, and we ask that you would make us willing to hear and do what we hear. Please grant us hearts of repentance for the many ways we have failed to seek first your kingdom and righteousness. Forgive us for setting our minds on the things of this earth rather than on you, seated in the heavenly places. Please give us receptive hearts today and move us, through the Eternal Spirit, to love and adore you. Grant us hearts that long to see your glory displayed in our neighborhoods and cities. Change us, our God, for we know that we are creatures of dust and we stand in desperate need of the bread of life. Please revive us, again, our God. Change us and help us so we can see the nations, countries, and our cities changed for the sake of Christ and his eternal kingdom. Please, Father, work through your Word today and show us your glory, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

You are the one who orders all things according to the counsel of your infinitely wise will. You have decreed all things, and nothing comes to pass without your direct care and involvement. You govern the affairs of men, and you especially watch over the actions and events of your Redeemed people. Though we are made in your image, we have been subjected to the fall into sin committed by Adam. We are, therefore, sinners, and we not only witness the effects of it in our walk with you, but we also see it in our bodies as they grow old. It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Because of sin, our bodies are decaying moment by moment. Each day, we see the effects of this fallen world on us. As we age, we feel the aches and pains of this life. We find ourselves tiring easily and struggling to remember the most basic things. We know that you have appointed unto us the day of our death, and nothing we do will stop that from happening. Yet, we also know that you are faithful to us and, in Christ, we have no reason to fear what will come tomorrow. We are held by your hand in life and death. AS we age, we are thankful that we can remember your faithfulness to us through all the years of our lives. Additionally, Father, we desire to be useful to those who come behind us. Help us to teach them and model for them a faithful, steady, and persevering walk with you. Please help us to teach them your ways and commands. Please give us strength and help us not to grow weary in doing good, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Season 11 | Edition 49
June 3, 2026

SUMMARY: This sermon reflects on Psalm 71 as a profound meditation on aging, faithfulness, and divine purpose, portraying an elderly individual whose life is marked by enduring trust in God despite physical decline and isolation. Centered on the psalmist’s plea not to be forsaken in old age, the message emphasizes that God’s faithfulness remains constant even as strength wanes and memories fade. The preacher highlights the spiritual value of the elderly in the church, urging them to continue proclaiming God’s righteousness and salvation to younger generations, thus affirming that age does not diminish one’s usefulness in God’s kingdom. Drawing from the psalm’s themes of divine refuge, lifelong worship, and intergenerational testimony, the sermon calls believers to embrace aging not with fear or despair, but with hope, continuity, and purpose rooted in God’s unchanging character.

Indeed, we see the effects of it in our lives and the many ways in which we are assaulted because we know and love the Lord Jesus. We know that all who desire to live a godly life will be persecuted. We know that your enemies are our enemies. We know that you are ready and able to help us in all circumstances. Yet, Father, it is during times of great struggle that we are prone to failure. It is then that we need your help and guidance. Please, Father, help us, your poor and needy children. Deliver us from the hands of those who seek our ruin. Deliver us from the lies that are often told. Grant us grace and peace in a world that lacks it. Be pleased to cause us to rejoice in your for we know that you are for us and will deliver us because you alone are powerful and mighty. Thank you, our God, for your constant care, we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
