Airline Security Proposal - Choose Your Flight Crew When Booking Your Flights

I have posted several articles discussing the legality, efficiency and effectiveness of returning airline security to the private sector.

I'm inclined to comment again on this topic because of the recent revelation that a Muslim man was fired from his job as a pilot because of suspected association with Islamic terrorism.

Let the Market Decide:
I suggest that airlines changing their booking systems to allow prospective customers to evaluate the profile of the pilot and copilot when booking a flight. You decide who you will fly with if no one wants to fly with a particular pilot there will be no need to fire him or her...

Gingrich, an orphan, has been married three times. His first wife, Jackie Battley, was his geometry teacher while he was in high school. They began their relationship when he was 16 years old, and married in 1962 after he graduated. The couple had two daughters, and divorced in 1981. Liberal and mainstream media sources have perpetuated a myth for years Jackie was served with divorce papers "on her deatbed," however, she is very much alive.

Gingrich married Ginther in 1981. The couple separated in 1988, and reconciled in 1994.

Newt Gingrich publicly admitted to having an extra-marital relationship. ""The honest answer is yes," Gingrich, a potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson. "There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There's certainly times when I've fallen short of God's standards." Gingrich contrasted owning up to his shortcomings with President Clinton's perjury and criminal offenses, "The President of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge," the former Georgia congressman said of Clinton's 1998 House impeachment on perjury and obstruction of justice charges. "I drew a line in my mind that said, 'Even though I run the risk of being deeply embarrassed, and even though at a purely personal level I am not rendering judgment on another human being, as a leader of the government trying to uphold the rule of law, I have no choice except to move forward and say that you cannot accept ... perjury in your highest officials."

Gingrich is a student of history that applies the lessons to his own beliefs and to the problems confronting society like so many others that have influenced our path such as Martin Luther, Thomas Locke, Frank Meyer, Russell Kirk, Friedrich Hayek, Henry Hazlitt, Milton Friedman, James Burnham, Ludwig von Mises, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Ronald Reagan. Like many people, several of these important individuals underwent transitions during their lifetime. The way you are educated is not your choice, however what you do with your mind after that is your choice and responsibility; that being said - it takes time to put things in order...

Gingrich's accomplishments in Congress -

All ten items in the Contract With America were brought to a vote in the U.S. House in the first 100 days (the promise was to bring them to a vote). Nine of the ten items passed the House. The sole exception was term limits which received a plurality but required a two-thirds majority as a Constitutional Amendment.
Committee Chairmen were term-limited as was the Speakership.
The Legislative branch was cut including the Speaker's office. Also reduced were committee sizes. Unnecessary perks like the House barbershop, shoeshine and ice service were eliminated.
The Congress was forced to live under the same laws as the rest of the land - OSHA, disabilities, workplace laws, members, staff etc.
A big six accounting firm audited the U.S. House's finances for the first time in history.
The Budget was balanced for the first time in a generation. When Time Magazine named Gingrich their Man of the Year in 1995, they said that because of Newt a balanced budget was no longer a question of if, but when.
Tax rates were cut for the first time in 17 years. Included were a lowering of the capital gains tax rate, a $500 per child tax credit and new tax credits for tuition to college and voc-tech schools. The cap gains tax actually ended being scored as a revenue increase, a shift in tax policy debate due to Gingrich's success.
Military spending increased for the first time in over 10 years including funding for a national missile defense.
The line-item veto passed and was signed into law.
Six of the bills were signed into law by the President. (In 1996, President Clinton pointed to 13 separate reforms that were contained within the Contract with America at the Democratic National Convention.)
More women were appointed to leadership positions in the House than anytime in history.
Increased funding for the Violence Against Women Act by 700%.
Megan's Law was passed.

Why the Left Hates Gingrich and You Shouldn't...

Gingrich has sunk a lot of Democrats. Politicians can either go along to get along or fight, Newt chose to fight. Politics is a bare knuckles fight and no one walks away without some bruises.

In 1979, when Gingrich was first elected to the house he took a seat that had belong to democrats for more than 100 years. That's not something that democrats take lightly and needless to say they wanted that seat back badly. Georgia state democrats gerrymandered his district in order to get him out of Congress and put the seat back into democrat hands forcing him to relocate into the new district in order to have a chance of reelection.

He organized the Conservative Opportunity Society (COS) in 1983 which gave rise to Reagan's massive landslide 1984 reelection that saw Republicans gain 16 seats in the House.

Gingrich and 77 other Republicans brought ethics charges against Democratic Speaker Jim Wright which forced him to resign in 1989.

He was the chief author of the 1994 Contract with America which gave the Republicans majority control of the house after the gaining 54 seats during the midterm election.

He was speaker of the house in 1998 when the house voted in favor of impeaching President Clinton.

Suffice it to say, they painted a bull's eye on him a long time ago.

As for the charges against him, he admitted that he made a mistake and that the information he provided to the house ethics committee was inaccurate. His honesty in admitting that he had made a mistake made it all but impossible to vote against the house reprimand or the fine imposed.

Syrian 'chemical, biological' weapons concern Israel

IDF's planning division head says chemical, biological weapons still flowing into Syria, wonders 'what will be transferred to Hezbollah?'

Israel has serious concerns about what will happen to "huge stockpiles" of chemical and biological weapons in Syria when the Assad regime collapses, a senior military official said on Tuesday.

Major-General Amir Eshel, head of the Israeli military's planning division, said the working assumption was the regime of President Bashar Assad would eventually fall.

"The question is when, not if. And the big question is what's going to come the day after," he said.

"The immediate concern is the huge stockpiles of chemicals, biologicals (weapons), strategic capabilities that are still going into Syria, mainly from eastern Europe," Eshel said.

"That's a major concern because I don't know who is going to own those the day after. Up till now, what has been transferred to Hezbollah? What will be transferred to Hezbollah? What will be divided between those factions inside Syria? What is that going to create?

"We are talking about huge stockpiles," he said.

The regime has spearheaded a bloody crackdown on pro-democracy activists seeking to overthrow Assad, who has vowed to remain in power, raising the specter of civil war between Syria's many religious sects if he steps down.

Eshel said the threat of civil war was a real possibility if Assad clung to power.

"If Assad will adopt this Yemenite model and leave, it might prevent a civil war," he said, referring to an agreement that saw Yemen's former president Ali Abdullah Saleh agree in November to leave power.

"But if he won't leave of his own will, we might get into civil war," he said. "If there will be a civil war, it might be a disaster."

Eshel also warned that Syria faces bankruptcy, which could create new instability.

"I think the major challenge the Syrians will face in a few months, is bankruptcy. The reserves will be zero, and this is going to create, I think, internal turmoil. We can expect refugees in many countries."

On January 10, Israel's Chief of Staff Lieutenant General BennyGantz told MPs that the military was preparing for the possibility of an influx of Syrian refugees, particularly on the Golan Heights.

More on the Threat from Syria:

For the past half century, Syria's overriding military objective has been the destruction of Israel. Yet on the battlefield, Syria has been defeated by the Israeli Defense Force in every conventional military engagement, most spectacularly in 1967, 1973, and 1982.[1] A realistic assessment of its conventional military performance has led Syria to adopt a new four-track strategy in hopes of thwarting Israel by other means: (a) state sponsorship of terrorism, (b) a quest for weapons of mass destruction, (3) a steady build-up of offensive and defense missile systems, and (d) active weapons proliferation. For these reasons, although Syria's conventional forces remain inadequate, the unconventional threat from Syria has become considerable.

Since the early 1980s, Damascus has openly provided material and political backing to the militant Islamic terrorist group Hezbollah, gaining Syria a prominent place on the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism. In its ceaseless struggle against Israel, Hezbollah has committed terrorist acts against Israelis and Americans, including the suicide bombings of the U.S. embassy and the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, as well as the firing of low-flying Katyusha rockets at Israeli civilian populations.[2] In addition to its support for Hezbollah, Syria aids and abets radical Palestinian terrorist groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad, which have been largely responsible for the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in recent years.[3]

In addition, Syria has actively sought to acquire weapons of mass destruction. According to a 2003 CIA report, Damascus already has a stockpile of the nerve agent Sarin, but apparently is trying to develop more toxic and persistent nerve agents as well as biological weapons with the aid of foreign sources.[4] John Bolton, Undersecretary of State for Arms Control, recently testified before the House International Relations Committee and reiterated that Syria has acquired "what is now one of the most advanced Arab chemical weapons capabilities" and is "continuing to develop an offensive biological weapons capability."[5] In addition to this chemical and biological weaponry, the CIA notes that Syria has a nuclear research center at Dayr al-Hajar and has access to considerable Russian expertise, should it consider pursuing nuclear weapons.[6]

Syria's sponsorship of terrorism and quest for weapons of mass destruction is especially troubling due to its steady build-up of offensive ballistic missile systems. Syria's missile program, which dates back to the 1970s, includes Scud B, C, and D variants, SS-21s, M-9 and M-11 variants, and Frog-7s. It is currently one of the largest arsenals of offensive weapons in the Middle East, thanks largely to Russia, China, and North Korea. Assistance from the former Soviet Union has included sales of Scuds, SS-21s, and Frog-7s. In recent years, China has sent diplomatic and technological delegations to Syria to discuss strategies for boosting Syria's missile capabilities, the focus of which has been to extend the range of Syria's Scuds from short to medium and even intermediate.[7] North Korea has concentrated on helping Syria to establish a solid-propellant rocket motor development and production capability.[8]

In recent months, reports have indicated that Russia plans to sell of number of new missile systems to Syria, including the made-for-export SS-26 Iskander missile, the S-300PMU-2 air and missile defense system, and the shoulder-fired SS-18 Igla anti-aircraft missile. Most worrisome is the SS-26 Iskander's reported range of 280 kilometers, which would allow Syria to attack nearly all of Israel.[9] Syria is also negotiating the purchase of the Russian S-400 air and missile defense system, said to be comparable or superior to the U.S. Patriot PAC-3 interceptor.[10] Including these recent developments, it is apparent that Syria's offensive arsenal, if armed with chemical or biological weapons and protected by a sizeable air and missile defense shield, poses a serious threat to Israel, as well as U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East, and even a democratic Iraq.

In addition to its own missile capabilities, Syria engages in dangerous proliferation behavior. In January 2004 and afterward, Syria sent Scud C and D missiles as well as chemical weapons to the Sudan. The arms shipments were recently revealed when Sudanese President Omar Bashir, fearing U.S. sanctions, ordered the missiles and chemical weapons removed from his country.[11] In addition, it has been revealed by Major General Ze'evi Farkash, head of the Israeli Defense Force intelligence branch, that Hezbollah recently sought to acquire short-range ballistic missiles armed with chemical weapons from Syria. Farkash noted that Hezbollah might already have as many as 30 missiles that are capable of traveling 215 kilometers.[12]

Taken together, the threat from Syria looms large. Until Damascus abandons its state sponsorship of terrorism, WMD programs, steady build-up of offensive and defensive missile systems, and active weapons proliferation, it will remain a significant cause for concern.

How Many People Will You Turn Your Back On - 118 million?

Isolationism is a nice way of saying abandonment....

What we are watching in the Islamic world could easily be the opening moments of WWIII. This conflict could be a much larger conflict spread across virtually the entire planet and come with a much bigger holocaust than either WWI or WWII.

The holocausts of WWI and WWII came close to exterminating the target populations within the relatively small, in comparison to the Islamic world, region under Nazi control. In the regions where Nazi Germany had political control 90% of the Jews were killed. Applying these statistics to target populations in the Islamic world gives us a worst case estimate of what could happen during WWIII.

The region in question was previously populated by a collection of other religions along with agnostics and atheists. Remnants of these pre-Islamic cultures persist in virtually all Islamic countries despite varying degrees of persecution ranging from paying additional taxes to ethnic cleansing and genocide.

In spite of what Islam defenders claim, there is no doubt that Mohammed's book demands exactly this type of violence against the non-believers.

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

In virtually all of the collapsing Arab Monarchies fundamentalist groups have been prohibited from running candidates and organizing politically - which provided a limit to how much of Islam's agenda of bigotry and hatred they could implement as the law of their land. With the Monarchs out with the naive if not complicit support of many western leaders, the Islamists have been unleashed from their political prisons along with a lot of pent up rage and hatred which they will direct at the so called nonbelievers.

How many non-believers live in predominantly Islamic nations?

Using very rough estimates we see that in just countries with Islamic populations over 90% there are more than 39 million non-Muslims. The number jumps to 71 million if we consider non-Muslims living in countries with Islamic populations of over 80%, to 86 million if we take into account those living in countries with Islamic populations of over 70%. and to 118 million if we consider countries with Islamic populations of over 50%.

The situation is actually much worse

Using the aggregate Muslim population to estimate the potential victims of unleashing a pent up Islam inspired holocaust across the Islamic world ignores internal conflicts. Sunnis consider Shia to be non-believers and vice versa. Whereas non-Muslims have by and large been deprived of their means of self-defense even minority Muslim populations have access to arms via the black-market. This difference implies that Muslim on Muslim violence is more likely to look like a civil war than a holocaust.

Putting the Animals Back into their Cages is Impossible

Anyone that has lived on a farm or worked in a prison knows that once unleashed there is no easy way to put the animals or criminals back into their cages. The chances of reestablishing a degree of control with the existing government structures is virtually non-existent in the predominantly Islamic world because it is the Islamist criminals themselves that are in control of the government institutions that one would normally look to

This is not the time to pretend that we live on an Island. A little less than a year ago when the Arab Spring had yet to begin, I wrote that non-Muslims living in Muslim countries were facing an impending holocaust and I was unfortunately correct.

We waited too long to get involved in WWII because of the ignorant policy of Isolationism and that cost millions of innocent people their lives Never again is right now and contrary to the Isolationists interpretation it doesn't mean we would never again defend the innocent or our allies.
