In this world we call the highway for us Driver's it is getting increasingly hard to fill our tanks with the fuel we need to keep this country going strong. With the economy the way it is and the constant rise in fuel prices it is getting real hard for owner operators of big trucks to operate with a profit or even enough to support their families in some cases. You being in your cars are also feeling the crunch. So i am going to give you a few tips to help you out as far as getting the most for your dollar at the mileage pump.

First when filling up make sure you fill it till the top i mean very top. this way you truly get the full mileage out of your car. Next right after you fill up buy some octane or fuel injector cleaner. this will clean out the deposits that build up in your engine and take away from your mileage and engine performance . please note you only have to put fuel injector cleaner in only once to improve your engine performance.

Next , now this will be hard for you lead foots but driving the actual speed limit will help out in stretching your gas mileage. another thing that will help out in this area is take what you don't need out of your trunk. this will lighten your weight of your car and hence you get better mileage another thing that will lighten the load is our weight as well we as a poeple eat way to much junk food but that is for another blog.

One other thing that you may do but isn't really liked is coasting down hills. yes i am suggesting this simply because how can the police tell if you are coasting or not i mean really . it isn't like you are going to be using the accelerator much anyway going down hills you will be using the brake more right. but in case you get nervous use the accelerator but only a very little bit. just like when you are driving you don't need to press it much to get going and then even less to keep you going at the speed you wish to.

If you do these things you will see your mileage go up on your car maybe not by 50 miles or more but every little bit helps in these times.

okay you all this will be a small part four but a nessacry one . Now do you drivers of cars know what the fat white line is for at intersections. it is used as an indicator to you tht this is the last possible area for you to stop and be safe from getting hit by a car or semi while said car or semi is turning. it doesnt mean to stop right after it so you can be first to move lol. but alot of you like to do just tht and one day i may just forget to be safe and well if you are in my way then well you get the picture oh well it wont be my fault. please when you start to see this big fat line start to slow down tht is why it is big and fat . so you ,may see it. alright i have to go time to show you cars how to drive.

okay you guys i know you have looked at my blogs and maybe thought what ever you thought do i care no. so don't ask if if i do. but i have more to say so sit down have a coke and a smile and read lol.

okay lets talk about turn signals. in a word USE!!!!!!!!! them. i mean when you want to get into another lane on the highway especially in rush hour traffic you don't cut off another car with not using a signal that is how accidents happen . which happened to me yesterday. well in front of me anyway. lets just say i was about 10 minutes from my warehouse at 530 pm. but when this happened because of a person who didn't believe in a turn signal i didn't get to my warehouse till about 8 pm. and another thing you drivers (and i use that term loosely) do is not let other drivers into the highway when they are coming down the ramp. you guys just look ahead and not all over totally oblivious to what is going on right next to them. and when you do come down a ramp to get on the highway please for the love of god don't SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! if you think you wont make it in front of the car that is the worst thing you can do. you speed up if possible. which most times it is.

okay people now that i have eaten my dinner and have calmed down from work. i can write about what happened to me tonight while i was working.

i was in a town in north western ct called Canaan,ct. it is on route 44 and rt 7 jct. fairly close to both the mass and new york state borders. i was driving down rt 44 going away from Canaan when an suv was coming up a side road that is right next to rt44 at a curve. now mind you there are alot of woods in this area and very few if any lights as in lamp posts to see properly. Anyway, this suv decides to use their high beams in concert with thier fog lights to drive up to the intersection and rt44. now im in a semi which sits about the same height as a cars high beams shoot out so you can imagine where an suv's high beams end up against a semi's height. Thats right you guessed it right in my eyes. So now im blinded and im about to go into the curve . very lucky for me i know the road meaning rt44 very well and made the curve but i was doing it slow till i had my eye sight back enough to see. for i was going about 50 mph and to stop a semi at tht speed even though tht was the legal limit on that road is not recommended. about half into the curve i got my eyes back and saw i was headed for the trees so i surved hard and stayed on the road . after i got out of the curve all i could muster to say was shit real fucking loud. i couldnt believe how much of an idiot that person was to have their high beams on while at an intersection. but it didn't stop with just that person. alot of people that live up there drive totally with thier high beams on and wont turn them off . blinding all other drivers coming towards them . i don't know maybe im being too critical but damn people give us semi drivers a break and use your lights the right way only have your high beams on when you don't see anybody coming and look at the tops of the trees for on coming cars so you can turn off your high beams and not blind the other guy when cars do come.

okay since today is the start of a new year i thought it would be time to really get into this thing . but i am being a little cautious so one step at a time . first off this blog. i don't know what people write in these things lol. i guess anything huh. well okay then since im a truck driver how about what i see on the road during my day that people in their cars should be doing but don't for they don't have a clue.
first off rush hour; why the hell do they always have to get nowhere fast. and most times the reason for the traffic jams in the first place is some jack ass that has to slow down to a slow crawl to watch what ever is going on the side of the road . so then people who are going to fast don't see the guy in front of him or her that is slow and wham car accident. if we all just thought about something else other than ourselves all the time many things that happen in our lives wouldn't . but all everyone thinks is whats in it for me.

another thing i see out there that really pisses me off is cars that are on my right hand side but with a car in front of them and im in my semi and im up and to the left of him. the driver of the car decides not only to pass me up by passing me on my left and then cuts into my lane only about 2 feet in front of me causing me to brake hard so i don't shake hands with his bumper he also proceeds to cut the car that was in front of him in the beginning off just to get to the exit ramp tht was only about a half mile up the road to begin with . i mean talk about wanting to get no where fast . i have seen that way to many to many times be the cause of so many accidents where motorists cut other people off and then have no clue about what they did for they just drive away and bothering to look back at the carnage they have left behind just because they had to get to that exit in a split second instead of having just a little patience and waiting about 3 minutes.

i know it seems like im venting but i see this everyday that i am in my truck and it drives me nuts. and then there are the damn cell phones. in Connecticut where i live there is a law against using them while driving unless there is a hands free unit in use. but do people care let me tell you not even the cops or even the state police don't even care for i have seen them use them without a hands free unit and they are supposed to be the most observant people we have as far as spotting crime or preventing wrong doing. i mean if the police don't care about the law about cell phones why should we and i guess that is the peoples mentality about it . but for now im done venting so see ya later.
