My Rite Aid Deal Yesterday:)

So yesterday was FUN! I scored 27 toothbrushes, spent $41.96 plus got $74 off UP rewards back! That means I actually came out about $30 ahead!! This how I made this deal work. Reach toothbrushes were on sale for $2.99 with a $2 Up reward. I had BOGO Reach toothbrush coupons, ALSO I found out online that the whitening reach total toothbrushes were generating heart healthy UP rewards if you spent $30 and another $10 if you spent $50! SO here is the breakdown ( I did this at 3 different stored and in 3 transactions but will combine here) I bought 27 toothbrushes= $80.73, used 13 BOGO coupons= $41.96,and received 27 $2 UP rewards ($54) and 2 $10 UP rewards ($20):) It is important to note you have to do this in atleast 2 transactions because only 20 UPS will print per receipt! I have had a few great Target trips over the last 2 days. Yesterday, I found HUGE plastic bins-the largest size regularly $18.?? on clearance for (drumroll please) $2.24!! I bought 9! Then I bought 14 cheap freezer items and got back 2 $5 gift cards, got some target cleaners for $.39 and called it a day. Today I went and used the gift cards to buy 12 smart ones and 2 bags of veggies, total out of pocket $22 minus a target $5 coupon and a manufacturer $5 coupon=$12 plus $10 in gift cards:) YEP JUST $2 for 12 smart ones and 2 bags of veggies! Then I found the purex laundry sheets on clearance for $4, used my $3 coupons to get them for a dollar each! YEAH! I love a good bargain:)

Why Stockpiling Makes Sense !

So today I was going through my pantry and I realized that I am running low on a few things. I was shocked! Clearly I have been slacking on my couponing duties:) Now for a normal person, I have a nice pantry full of items but for me-not so much. You would probably think I was crazy if you saw my pantry, or even worse my back up toiletry closet. The treasure trove is full of 30-40 packages of diapers, 15 packages of wipes, 20 shampoo and conditioners, 10 toothpastes...Each has it's own story and each saves me BIG. I do not even remember the last time I paid full price (or even sale price) for any of these things! Your grocery budget goes a lot further when you never have to pick up that $3 bottle of shampoo or toothpaste. In my daughter's entire life,she is 16 months old, I have bought ONE package of full priced diapers-I was out of town without my stash and underpacked...all thanks to coupons, sales, and stockpiling.

The number one factor when it comes to stockpiling is TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A GREAT DEAL. For instance, my Kroger store doubles $1 coupons. Every once in a while they put an item on sale that will be free with the coupon. A normal couponer buys one or two, depending on how many papers they have bought. I, on the other hand buy 12-15, depending on my need. I get extra coupons from ebay or a clipping service and take FULL advantage of the deal. For a specific example, next week Rite Aid will be having a great deal on Purex laundry detergent and Johnson's and Johnson's products (covered in other posts). I have already ordered 20 coupons and printed 10 for the Johnson's deal, and 20 for the Purex deal as well. Looks like my closet is about to get even fuller:)

Now to the question you are thinking...why would anyone need that much?? The truth is most people do. Stockpiling requires you to think ahead...way ahead. The more you have, the less chance that you will ever have to pay retail. After my cost of coupons, I will be paying about $.10 each for a bottle of baby lotion, just ONE bottle would normally cost between $2.79-$3.79. So I am getting basically 28 for the price of ONE! Think of how much money you are wasting when you just "run to the store" to pick something up and pay sticker price!! Next time, wouldn't you rather just shop in your closet like me:)

Heads up.... This deal is on at Walgreens Their purex 3 in1 laundry sheets are BOGO andsome people got a $3 off of one coupon in Sunday's paper. So, buy 2 for $7.99-2x $3 coupons=$2 for 2 boxes! Not bad! You may want to order some extra coupons from a clipping service or ebay so you can stock up:) My favorite clipping service is The Coupon Clippers I just ordered 10 off of ebay for $3 so my total will be about $1.30 per box, this coupon can be used on the bottles too, but only if they have the purex with zout so we shall have to wait and see:) That would be an even better deal so I am hoping!
