Since I'm officially suffering from Spring fever, I thought it would be fun to put a post together sharing with you one of my favorite palettes for Spring! Recently featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, this lovely little duo simply has stolen my heart. Lemon and mint truly do go hand in hand... wouldn't you agree?

I think what I love most about these colors is the fact that you can't exactly take them too seriously. They truly are bursting at the seams with what I like to call the 'fun factor'. Plus there are just so many fun things you can do with these colors. I'm loving the looks of those centerpieces and bridesmaid dresses! Talk about fun and flirty! Such a fresh palette! And definitely one that you don't see often at weddings. So tell me... are you loving the looks of this perfect palette?

Looking for a way to create a festive atmosphere full of fun? Perhaps you're in the midst of planning your wedding or maybe you're the maid of honor and you're looking for a way to liven up a shower you're planning for the bride-to-be? Whatever the case may be, I happen to think that bunting is a really fun way to achieve a festive feeling when it comes to dressing up a space. And who would have imagined that there were so many ways to use bunting? Whether you overlap your bunting or drape it from the ceiling, one thing is for sure... It's a simple way to add a touch of fun!

I don't know about you, but I love the looks of this space and I can imagine that this blue decor would look absolutely beautiful for a shower!

Planning a simple outdoor affair? Unimpressed by the lack of ambiance? Why not drape bunting from a tented ceiling? It's an easy and inexpensive way to add a little color!

I love the example above because it shows you how you can use bunting in an elegant setting. Often times I think people reserve this type of decor for more of a casual setting. But it's not necessary if you ask me! As you can see, these little pops of color really add to the reception.

Happy Valentine's Day, lovelies! For me, Valentine's Day has always been a day set aside to remind the people in my life just how much I love them. A sweet handmade card, a batch of yummy treats, maybe a nice dinner out? I don't know about you but I've always been a sucker for Valentine's Day. And although gifts and special dinners are nice, ultimately it's always just nice to be reminded that you're loved. Am I right? Today I am also reminded that yesterday actually marked the Perfect Palette's 3rd birthday! Wow!! It's kind of hard to believe how much this little blog has grown. Furthermore, it's just absolutely nuts to think about how my life has changed behind the scenes since starting this blog.

I was newly engaged when I had the idea to start my blog. In the last three years, I got married to the love of my life, we purchased our first home, we had our first son who is now 18 months and we're now expecting twins this July. Not to mention the fact that I was able to turn my blog {and my passion} into my fulltime gig.

I'll always be forever grateful to my sweet and loyal readers who enabled me to do just that. My life has truly changed for the better since starting The Perfect Palette. And so because of that, I'd like to take today to remind you how much you are loved! There's nothing more sweet than being able to wake up each day and do something you absolutely adore. And thankfully, I have sweet readers like you to share my ideas with. I hope your day is filled with reminders that you're loved...because you are!

Want to know what I also love? Yep, that's right... I love color! And these colors are no exception. I love this vibrant shade of purple so much that I've long been forecasting this color as one of this year's ''it'' colors. Pair it with soft blush pink, and a touch of gray and what do you get? A romantic palette full of pretty details. I think what I love most about this palette has to be that gorgeous wedding gown by designer Papilio as well as this floral invitation by Wedding Paper Divas. Happy Friday, color lovers! I hope you all had a lovely week of wedding planning! So sorry I haven't been posting as often as usual. It's just that this first trimester has been a little more challenging for me than my last pregnancy. I suppose since we're expecting twins, it's safe to say that I'm experiencing double the symptoms! I'm happy to report, however, that both twins are looking healthy and growing just as they should! I'm also happy to report that I'm officially in the second trimester now. Gosh, how time flies!

I think what I love about this pretty party palette is the fact that you can easily incorporate fun and festive decor. For instance, how fun are these decorative poms? When it comes to defining your wedding day style, I know that some of you are struggling. ''Where should I start,'' you ask? "What colors should I use,'' you say? Well, I'm here to tell you that I know it can feel overwhelming. But lucky for you, you're not alone! I'm here to help and I'm here to break it down for you so to speak. One of my favorite ways to find new and exciting color palettes is to look to nature. Florals, to be more specific! Bouquets are truly little pieces of art, wouldn't you agree? So why not look to bouquets for some wedding day inspiration?

As you can see, there are a lot of different options out there. Sometimes all it takes is finding that one picture that speaks to you, that inspires you...

I for one am totally into pastels here lately. Especially ones that have an almost beachy feel to them. Looking to throw a beach wedding, but tired of the old turquoise and white color palettes you keep seeing? Why not use something like this?

Or this for that matter? You wouldn't think that gray and shades of pink could be used in a beachy locale, but then you see a bouquet like this and I don't know about you, but this instantly inspires me to see the possibilities...

Looking to put together an elegant affair for Fall? Tired of burnt orange and brown? Why not use a palette of rich purples, greens and grays?

And this lovely palette! Why not use something unexpected like this dreamy shade of teal with fuchsia, shades of pink and antique gold? I can see this palette looking perfect for late Summer or even Fall.

I think what I love most about this color palette are all of the fun things you can do with it. What about this color palette do you love? Yep, you read that correctly... TWINS! I seriously cannot tell you how suprised we were to learn that I was carrying two sweet babies! Needless to say, we feel doubly blessed! I'll be considered full term by middle of July. For those of you who don't know, we have a 17 month old little boy so by the time the twins arrive, we will officially have three children under 2! Needless to say, I'm going to be one busy mommy! Thanks to everyone for the sweet well wishes! We're blown away by the love and excitement that so many of you seem to have for us. We're so looking forward to being a family of five!

I don't know about you, but I cannot be more ready for Spring. Maybe it's because I'm cold natured? Or maybe it's just because I'm looking forward to changing over to my spring time clothing...Whatever the case may be, I think it's safe to say that I have a subtle case of Spring Fever. And so when I think about colors and Springtime I'm finding myself moving away from the dark and moody hues to more of a lighter palette. Isn't it funny how the seasons sort of dictate color?

{Pantone's Color of the Year}: Tangerine Tango!

Have you heard the news? Pantone recently announced that Tangerine Tango is their color of the year for 2012! A lot of you have asked me what I think of Pantone's choice? Do I like it? Would I have chosen a different color? What are my thoughts on this, you ask?

Well, here are my thoughts. While I have to admit that I feel it was a bold choice, there's clearly nothing wrong with bold. I happen to love vibrant, lively color. It's a color with beautiful red and peach undertones! One that is simply bursting with fun !

I think it's a color that puts most people out of their comfort zones. However, again I don't think that's a bad thing. Adding a pop of bright color is a great way to express yourself. Especially in weddings. And so today I thought I'd put together a pretty palette using the newest color of the year. As you might have noticed, this palette actually incorporates varying shades of orange as well as touch of Tangerine Tango mostly seen in the bridesmaid dresses and florals.

So what do you think of Pantone's Color of the Year? I suppose the answer to that question lies in whether you are a fan of the color orange and all of it's variations. Being an orange bride myself, I can't help but love this. I like this color because I feel like there's a lot of ways you can use it. Why not spice things up your wedding a bit by adding in a dash of this unexpected and punchy hue? Want to know which color I would name as this year's color of the year? Well, hello there color lovers! And Happy New Year! I can't tell you how excited I am to officially kick of the year here on the Perfect Palette! With the new year comes shiny new goals. You know, the kind that you're just so excited to work towards. For me, setting goals is a way to really evaluate my business, my personal direction and whether what I'm doing is working. Have you set any goals for this year?

I also have to point out that I think for those who own their own business it's only natural that your personal goals overlap your business goals. I know mine sure do. I've kept my goals simple this year.

One of the things I want to do is I want to continue working with each of you one one one to fulfill your palette requests. Sounds simple... but that's what this is all about for me! It's about helping you, inspiring you and making this a spot that you love to visit!

Secondly, I want to continue surrounding myself with industry professionals who lift me up. And in turn I want to continue doing my part to support my fellow blogging friend's efforts. I can't tell how great it feels to be a part of a community that is comprised of so many sweet wedding professionals. I feel absolutely blessed by the support and friendship I've gained over the past couple of years.

Thirdly, I want to continue to inspire you - but I'd like to do so in ways I haven't before. Mix things up a bit... push the envelope so to speak! Ultimately, I want to take this blog to new heights! How will I do it you ask? Well, time will only tell... but let's just say that this girl has a few exciting things up my sleeves that I'm so excited to share with you in the coming weeks.

And lastly... I don't want to work harder this year, I want to work smarter. Meaning, I'd like to streamline my work day so that I can achieve a better work - life balance. Sounds simple enough, right? I'll be sure to check in with you in a couple of months to let you know how accountable I'm being okay?

On a serious note though, I just have to say that the Perfect Palette has blossomed and grown to be a place that I can honestly say that I'm absolutely proud of. I can't begin to tell you how flattered and humbled I am just knowing that you visit me each day to get your daily dose of color.

My life is way more enriched having this little creative outlet to share my ideas. Life before the Perfect Palette wasn't nearly as colorful and for that, I thank you. I thank you for reading, I thank you for coming along with me on this colorful journey, and I thank you for your continued support and love! Happy New Year, everyone! Let's make this a year that we'll never forget!

Unfortunately, this is where I say farewell! I'm taking a bit of a break for the holidays, but don't you fret.. I'll be back in 2012 with lots of fun and exciting announcements as well as your daily dose of color inspiration. My plan is to take these next few days and really spend some quality time with my family. I hope you're able to do the same! From the bottom of my heart... thank you for making 2011 one of my best years yet! I truly appreciate the fact that you stop by each day and I hope you've all have had a great year too! Can you tell that I'm really in the Christmas spirit? As we move closer to the holidays, I thought it would be fun to revisit some of my favorite holiday inspired posts from years past! Our tree is up, our decorations are out & we're already starting the holiday celebrations at our house! Winter is such a cozy time, wouldn't you agree? {Nature Inspired}: Holiday Color Palettes

Well, hello there color lovers... and Happy Monday! Today I'm going to keep things short and sweet because, I like many of you have quite the list of 'to-dos' before Christmas next week! Oh, and by the way... can you even believe it's already Christmas next week? Where has this year gone? In any case... I thought what better way to kick of this week than to share with you some of my favorite nature inspired holiday color palettes.

Personally, I love how these images have such a natural feel to them. They use small pops of color to highlight rather than large amounts of color. When color is used like this, you can really appreciate the color for all that it is.

Are you more drawn to shades of blue or reds and browns? I can personally see the appeal of both palettes. But I'll always be a red girl at heart, especially when it comes to the holidays!

I can see these colors looking lovely for a holiday party or even a wedding. What about you? What colors are you loving here lately? Winter weddings are a time for bringing out all kinds of beautiful colors. For me, cool blues and subdued grays have always been on the top of my Winter weddings color list. Perhaps it's because these colors look perfect against a snowy landscape? Whatever the case may be... one thing is for sure, I'm smitten with this pretty little palette. Isn't this bride simply stunning? Her blue eyes are sparkling like crazy! Oh, and I'm loving how she's wearing her hair down! Not to mention her lovely hairpiece by designer, Lucy Marshall. I think what I like most about this wedding palette is the fact that it isn't overdone. It's simple elegance is the sort that brides often try hard to achieve. And who could blame them? {These Are a Few of My Favorite Things}: Holiday Favorites!

When it comes to the holidays, I think it's safe to say that most people have their little list of things they look forward to most during the season. And believe me, I'm no exception. I have quite a few favorite holiday things. So I thought... why not share them with you? So here you have it... my short list of the things I love most during Christmas time. First up on my list are holly berries...

Because what's not love about a beautiful wreath with little pops of color throughout? Holly berries are definitely one of my favorite ways to use nature in my decor.

Next on my list would definitely be ornaments! Because whether it's a handmade ornament or one that's been passed on through generations, each ornament truly does have a story behind it and I love that!

What's the next on my list, you ask? That would definitely have to be all kinds of winter fun. From sipping hot cocoa to snow sledding, there is never a shortage of fun stuff to get into during this time of year.

And since I'm such a foodie, I cannot go without mentioning holiday baking! Christmas cookies are so fun to make, plus not to mention tasty! A tradition in my family is to make batches of different kinds!

A landscape blanketed in snow is definitely on my lists of favorites. Because what is Winter time without a little snowfall? Okay, maybe that's silly to say! But you can't deny that snowflakes make Christmas feel a little more special.

Up next on my list would definitely be pretty holiday drinks! Because what better time to get creative than this? I love these festive little stirrers! The perfect thing to serve up at a holiday party.

Speaking of holiday parties... one of things I love most about them is the fact that they give you an excuse to go shopping! Because getting something new to wear is always fun! Am I right? Plus, it's definitely fun to play hostess during this time of year.
