I have never seen such a beautiful dragonfly before.

Now I call it ‘The GoldenFly’.

Just a few lines I thought of when I was thinking about this woman. I just thought of her kids waiting back home for their mom to return with daily income which buys their food. And their life. Good luck lady.

A sunset from 30 Dec 2012. Yes I know it would have made more sense if this was from 31st Dec. But I didn’t get one that day. So need to adjust with what I have

I will never really get bored with sunsets or sunrises. Would you?

A Great Cormorant eating its catch after fighting for protecting it. The flock of cormorants swims in groups. Then suddenly all of them dive underwater only to emerge a few moments later. Sometimes one of them catches a fish and suddenly everyone around tries to grab the fish. So every fish theyeat is well-earned.

Story behind the photo:

I met these kids in the photo on a trip in rural areas in Pune district. The kids were from a village situated in hills and had very less contact with outside world. Only one or two buses visit in a day, no other means of transport… so these kids walk almost 7-8 kilometers everyday to school. And best part is they did not mind it… they were happy to walk because they wanted to go to school.

That day, they got lift to their school in a Mitsubishi Outlander.. (one of my photographer friends was driving the car all by himself, he was more than happy to give them a lift..)

A grasshopper … God knows where he is going… most probably to hop over the grass… One thing I admire about these little insects is their ability to stay at same place for long time… which unfortunately, has been something I have tried to learn (for years) and failed…

But again, if I wasn’t jumping around in bushes around my house so much (with my camera), then I wouldn’t have gotten this photo..

First photo from my new-old Helios M44-5 f/2 58mm screw mount manual lens.. I got it from Ebay, cheap. And results of the lens are pretty good for starters. Though the coating on some glasses is gone but I am not sure what would be the effect of this on photos.. but there only one way to find out.. and I will soon.

Please let me know if anyone else has such a lens and please share some tips/experiences.

Whoever finds the fish first will eat it.. of course.

But I observed these Painted Storks a while.. the one on the left was kinda bully and would make the other one fly away to other area for fishing. This was a rare moment when both got along for some time.
