Okay so I'm pretty sure most if not all of you know the Disney movie Frozen.

I'll admit that it was just last week when I saw it the first time but that's all it took for me to fall in L-O-V-E with it. All those who worked on it did and amazing job with the animation and story line. I personally really enjoyed the songs the most. "Let It Go" and "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" have embedded themselves into my brain.

Why am I posting about a animated Disney movie you ask?

Well, I'll tell you. I found this hilarious and very well done parody to Disney's Frozen "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" It's called "Do You Want To Go To Starbucks?" After watching this video I thought to myself that 'genius like this should not go unnoticed!' So here it is, ENJOY!
I'm Theresa. I like to introduce myself as a Devil Pup (My Dad is a U.S. Marine) by birth and a Navy wife by marriage. I'm a Soon-to-be-Mom of a little boy and am an adoptive mother to my fur-child Sophie. I compare my and my Husbands relationship to Roxy and Trevor LeBlanc's relationship from the now canceled series, Army Wives. We Knew each other for a short time before getting married. We met in July and were married by September and have been married for almost 8 months now!

Since becoming married my Husband has been gone for a total of about 3 months, will be going out again, and is scheduled to deploy. We are currently stationed in sunny San Diego. We haven't lived anywhere else together but my Husband has been a few different places since joining the Navy. We did visit Washington to see his family and boy, oh boy is it beautiful! (Check out my series 'Our Road Trip Part 1' for pictures)

Something I wish people knew about being a military spouse is that most, if not all, of us are very proud of our Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Soldiers. I'm a very proud Navy wife! My Husband does so much for me. Even when he's gone I'm proud, yeah it sucks when he leaves but he does it to protect our country.

I have quite a few family members in the Military. And I have always found it inspiring to see that there are those in the world so willing to help our troops try to make a not-so-easy situation, an enjoyable one.

This is why I'd like to tell you about a company called SoldierSend.

Mick Garrison, the Founder and CEO, started SoldierSend after attempting to send a care package to a friend overseas. What he did not realize was the time it would take to gather supplies and ship them internationally. While ashamed to admit to giving up he thought; there must be a better way for busy supporters to do just that, support. And so . . .

"SoldierSend.com was born with the sole intention of making it easy for regular working people like me to directly support some of the most important people in this nation—those defending it." --Mick Garrison, Supporter and CEO

Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and The Coast Guard can utilize the site to create a registry of items they would like to receive. With this tailored list supporters can easily log in and select items to send. Using SoldierSend eliminates the hassle of A.) going to different stores to gather supplies and B.) having to deal with confusing shipping procedures.

One of the best things about this company is that they are here to support the ones who defend us everyday.

What are you waiting for?

Go check them out!

And help spread the word about SoldierSend to your friends and family!

If you'd like to read about their mission or their services you can click here.

Don't forget to register on SoldierSend!

Just because you don't know the person doesn't mean you can support them.

*This is the final part to our journey. If you haven't read Part 1 yet click here*

It was already 5pm by the time we left Forks, a whole two hours later than we had planned for. We knew there was no way we would be able to make it to a hotel in time with all the fog and twisty road that was ahead of us. Then we thought why even stop at all, let's drive through the night.

The sky darkened once we entered the wall of trees, the road threw about a billion sharp 15mph turns at us, and the fog only got thicker. The conditions we were driving in made me a Nervous Nelly, and I could tell I was starting to annoy my husband every time I said "slow down." Thankfully I had my trusty body pillow to help me fall asleep.

A few hours later I woke up to my husband pulling into a gas station.
I said to him, "for the love of all that is good, please tell me no more twisty roads?"
Well I'm not that lucky.

The longer we drove the more I grew to resent the night. It felt like we were stuck on a giant treadmill. Not even the occasional passing of a town broke the illusion. Soon the only car left in a sea of big rigs was ours and it was my turn to drive.

We had finally passed the Oregon-Washington border and I was hungry. I'm not sure where we stopped but which ever town it was had a 24 hour Mcdonalds and a truck stop.

I technically have slept in a car before but usually we are an hour or two away from home not 800+ miles.

For the next four hours I continued to wake up and fall back to sleep. The alarm the Mr. had set on his phone went off at 4am which woke me but did not wake him so I turned it off and we slept in till 5am. It was still dark out and we were both tired. I followed my husband inside the Pilot store were we bought him coffee and I an apple juice. We filled up the tank, grabbed some Mcdonalds and were back on the road.

Fog,

fog,

and more fog.

I couldn't take pictures because the flash just bounced off all the fog.

Being unsure of where we were makes me unsure about how long we had been driving for. Again it was my turn to drive, luckily we finally had some light from the sun. With every passing hour and every mile driven, we grew closer to home. We drove through the California-Oregon border stopping in Weed, Ca.

We made it into Redding by 7am and realized that if we wanted to we could make it home by 9pm. So instead of stopping and resting we continued on and with my husband at the wheel I fell asleep. I woke after passing through Sacramento and insisted on taking over driving for a while.

During my turn I saw a sign saying In-n-out next exit which only caused me to start craving their pink lemonade. We stopped and ate. I insisted to keep driving, after all we were just hours away from home and I was getting anxious.

The sky grew darker and I began to worry we wouldn't make it home before 9, then my husband took over. He pushed through those last few hours. At around 8pm we were within 30 minutes of home, then 20, then 10, then down the street, and finally we made it.

The only thing on my mind was I want a hot shower and to sleep in a bed.
It felt so good to be home not in a car.

*Thank you for reading the last installation of the 'Our Road Trip'*
Yesterday was my youngest cousins 8th birthday and she had chosen to celebrate at the one, the only, Tom's Farm!

Tom's Farm is a Southern California family fun destination. They opened back in 1971 as just a produce stand and have grown quite a bit since then. They are now home to attractions like train rides, a magic show, pony rides, and more. If you aren't convinced yet here are a few more reason why this is a great place.

The food is amazing! In the mood for a little mexican? Visit Senior Tom's, they sell everything from the simple taco to the deep fried ice cream. If you are more of a burger fan try out Tom's Old Fashioned Burgers where they also serve breakfast from 7am-11am.

When my family goes to Tom's we usually go to the Wine & Cheese shop. They sell some of the best pizza and sandwiches around! And after all the fun is done and we are ready to leave we head on over to The Sweet Shoppe for some hand made candy and fudge.

Tom's Farm is more than just a destination for food and rides, they also offer a Home Store for furniture and if you are in need of a shed head on over to Shed World.

Tom's is an all around great place for family and friends to hang out, eat great food, and have fun.

* If you'd like to check them out you can click here *

In other news, I' m in the middle of redecorating and getting organized for baby. I can mark off new blinds, door knobs, and painting off my list but I am far from being done. With our closet being so small its hard to fit anything in it without someone losing out on space, and with all of baby's things the little bit of space we have will become nonexistent. So for the next few weeks I will be posting on the topic of organization. I would love to hear your organizational tips as well.

I'm off to Home Depot, goodbye for now!

*This is a Part 3 of a series, click here to go to Part 1*

So it was finally time to make our way back to California but first, a little side trip. I am a little embarrassed to admit it but I am a Twilight fan, It's not something I tell everyone due to how evil some people can get about it. Yes everyone, we side tripped to Forks, Washington.

While still dark out we started our 6 hour trek to the western part of Washington. With no real bumps along the way, the drive was quite enjoyable.

What was supposed to be a single day stay at the Navy Lodge on Coronado Island ended up being a 2 day vaycay. With the stress of everyday life we are hardly ever get the chance to just enjoy each others company. We are just so happy that we were able to have that time to grow our relationship before he has to leave again.

I know what you are thinking. What happened to 'Our Road Trip Part 3'? Well I'm here to tell you not to worry it IS coming. It would have been up yesterday if it weren't for this "pregnancy brain" I have. Yes being pregnant makes me forget things easily, my grandma had it bad, my mom had it worse, and I have it terribly. Besides all that I do plan on posting it today at noon, I believe that's 3PM for those on the East Coast.

I just want to thank you (my readers) for being patient with me while I get a hang of blogging.

For those who love, or like, to read books I picked one up at the NEX. It's called "The Aviators Wife," I'm curious if any of you have read it and if you liked it? I just started this book so I don't have a reliable opinion on it yet.

*This is a Part 2 to a Part 1 , I've added a link for all those who'd like to read that first.*

Both the Mr. and I had awakened around the same time, 5AM, we had a long day of driving and wanted to try to get ahead of the morning traffic. We gassed up and hit the road by 6.

The drive was pretty easy for most of the way and then came my turn to take the wheel. This was our first time road tripping through the Redding/Shasta area so neither of us knew what was coming next. Turns. Lots of twisty turny road that, since I was a kid, had always made me uneasy. But it was either drive or be made fun of the rest off the trip for being 'yuppy' (The husband loves Duck Dynasty) so I gathered my courage and pushed through.

Knowing how close we were to the border of Oregon started getting me anxious. I so badly wanted a picture with the 'Welcome to Oregon' sign. Being the captain of the car for the moment I took it upon myself to pull over when the time was right.

Here's me trying to contain my excitement for this sign.

And here's my husband who seems less amused.

For the sake of my husbands sanity and mine, he took over as captain for while. Thankfully he did, I was dying to get some pictures for my family to see when we go back to Cali.

Here is one as we are entering Oregon.

And a couple others.

Just up the road from where I took these, we stopped to get gas and snacks. A quick fact about gas stations in Oregon: you don't pump your own gas. I was a little weirded out about handing over the debit card to a stranger but who am I to get in the way of someone just trying to do their job.

Sometime after the stop at the gas station I must have fallen asleep because when I woke up we were already near the Oregon/Washington border.

After passing through all that scary fog we entered Washington the state of . . .

Because we were in the middle of nowhere we had to back track to another town to pick up some food, adding on 10 more minutes to our destination. As it got darker and the fog got thinker I became more and more nervous about going off the road. For almost an hour we drove through that thick fog, I'm talking the kinda fog where if you take a picture with the flash on you can blind yourself. It was bad. But soon we were out of it and I had never been so relieved in my life!

As the hours past we grew closer and closer to the house of my In-laws. Never having met them before made the last few minutes feel like days. I didn't know what I was going to walk into. Were they going to like me? After spending with them I can officially say I have met them and I love them! I happy to be able to say that I love my In-Laws, its not something you hear everyday. Also seeing the joy in my husband getting to be with his little brothers again was a treat for me.

And the Walmart up there is HUGE! I didn't get a picture of its awesomeness but I did take one of a Valentines card,

ooh Walmart.

*That's not the end of our trip. On our way back to California we took a little detour.*

Being pregnant I get hungry a lot. I eat 3 meals a day, multiple snacks, and drink plenty of water but still my stomach rumbles. For weeks I have been trying to find something that will hold me over for longer than 45 mins. Now, waffles with peanut butter and jelly it may not be the healthiest snack choice out there but it does help fight off mid-morning hunger.

All it takes to make is:

2 Waffles (frozen or fresh)

Peanut Butter (any brand, creamy or chunky)

Jelly (any flavor, any brand)

Spreading knife

&

a little imagination

First off make your waffles to your specifications.

Once cooked spread on your peanut butter and jelly.

SPOILER ALERT! Spread the peanut butter on while the waffles are still hot and you will have a delicious

gooey mess.

Congrats! You just made your first waffle sandwich,

Way back in late December of 2013, the Mr. and I left sunny Southern California for the cold, pine covered state of Washington. Why you ask? It's where my In-Laws live! I was unfortunate enough to not have met them before Mr. and I married due to distance and the Navy working hours. But, thanks to my husbands leave I was finally getting the chance.

We had prepared for weeks, the car had been rented, the hotel was reserved, and the route planned. We were ready. What we didn't expect was what actually happened.

Mr. needed surgery. The day before Christmas eve he started complaining about a horrible pain he felt on his lower right side. The symptoms he had seemed consistent with those of appendicitis, and I thought he should get checked out. The next day he went on over to urgent care to get checked out. Unfortunately they couldn't rule it out due to the lack of ultrasound systems so they sent him over to the Temecula Hospital.

One urgent care visit, two wrong turns, and three hours later he was diagnosed with appendicitis.

Thankfully the doc okay him for travel because a few days later we were on our way to pick up our car rental.

We should have read the fine print.

The rental company couldn't rent to us until one of us was 21 years of age. We wasted an hour driving around trying to find a place to rent to us. Either our age was the issue or the lack of available cars. Once we had realized this we were almost two hours into our trip, still in San Diego and hungry. Finally we gave up on the car rental, threw some gas in the tank and drove.

We made it to our hotel in Red Bluff around 8PM, that's 14 hours after the start of the road trip, a drive that should have only taken us 10 hours. We were both tired and hungry. My husband, whom had driven most of the way, drove up the street to a McDonalds while I used the shower to rinse off. By 10PM it was lights out for us.

*Come back tomorrow to see what happened next on,*
Being new to the blogging scene, at least for me, has been very overwhelming. Though there are a lot of resources out there to help the start up process (which I am so grateful for) It's all the choices and decisions that's the difficult part.

Blogging to me is like trying to plan a wedding. You have to choose the dinner menu, the invites, who to invite, where to have the reception, which dinning wear is best, and what about the cake?! All those designs and flavors!

The one thing that I don't have difficulty with is finding the inspiration to keep posting. I have become very passionate about it. Sure it has its ups and downs but most things in life are like that. And I know I haven't been blogging for long, this is my sixth post, but I already know that I don't want to stop.

I am posting on this topic because I am hoping one day I can inspire someone as I have been.

Before I started blogging I was just a reader and still do read. I have quite a few favorites, most are written by other Military wives. After a few months of following the lives of others through their online posts I felt like it was something I wanted to do, and so The Petty Officer's Wife was born.

Before I started I wanted to have a name for this site. I wanted something that I thought no one else would have. Something that is representative of my life. Immediately 'Navy Wife and Mommy' popped into my head but I thought this is too common, someone else is bound to have it. I really didn't want to steal anyone's idea. Instead I tried something with my husbands rank. I liked it, it flowed nicely so I went with it.

As for design, I'm still working on it. I want to make my own soon. I also hope to make tutorials that future bloggers can use to assist in the creation of their own. I'd very much like to show you all the many sides of me, the crafty, the caring, the silly, and hopefully the daring. Pull up a chair and stay a while, I'ts sure to be a bumpy ride but I'm not going anywhere.

Last night the hubs and I went out to Denny's for date night. I, however, had an ulterior motive for wanting to go. I was craving pancakes.

Normally when I bring up the idea of Denny's for date night the Mr. cringes, so just imagine how joyous I was to hear him agree. Maybe he is finally understanding you never mess with a pregnant woman's food. Unless of course you hate your hands.

The night started out like any normal night. The hostess sat us, we ordered our drinks (strawberry lemonade for me),

and continued to stare at our menus. After looking around at other tables, awkwardly meeting with the eyes of strangers, and a few "do you know what you want's," we were ready to order.

While waiting I took these,

This is the husband,

And this is me sipping my straw all silly like because I just can't takes pictures like a normal person.

In no time our food arrived and like a civilized cave man, I took pictures of all the deliciousness before digging in.

After a long day we headed home where I slept like a hound dog lyin' on the porch in the middle of July.

How did you all spend you night?

Post a comment or send me a tweet!

By now you all know that my husband is going out to sea again. The other day he had asked me, "how is this so easy for you?" I was a bit shocked by his inquiry. That he actually thought that it's easy for me having to say goodbye over and over.

Once I collected my thoughts I replied, "It's not easy. It's not something I'm used to, I just live with the reality that you have to leave often. I can't change that fact no matter how badly I want to."

I really would keep him home if I could but, because I can't do so without being arrested, I'm just going to have to make the best of our situation.

Once my hub gave me the news I asked him if he needed or wanted anything specific to take with him. He sent me the list via text message. Yesterday I took that list with me to my local Target, and after acquiring his supplies I thought to myself, 'what else can I get him to make this time going out more enjoyable?' And, Well, I just couldn't help myself.

These are the items that are on the list he sent me,

and these are the extra items I picked up for him.

I'm planning on sticking it all in a nice gift bag rather than handing it to him in plastic store bags.

As for tonight the husband and I are going out for a wild night on the town! Okay, I lie, but we are going to Denny's. Something about breakfast for dinner sounds amazing to me, and you know what they say 'It's 5 o'clock (A.M.) somewhere!'

Dogs are like people, they are all different and they all have their own personality. Some are very laid back and defiant while others are active and loyal. My pup Sophie falls under her own personality category, she's a Sophie.

You are probably wondering what I mean by 'she's a Sophie.' That saying actually started out as a joke between all who know her, but became a way to describe her. She is toy driven, nose driven, hates sirens, digs where ever she smells a gopher, loves to chew on dirty socks AND underwear. It's gross! I have had to throw out countless amounts of chewed up clothing because of her dirty habit.

This little cutie is such a handful sometimes. A mischievous, loving, defiant, loyal, active, sleepy, handful of a pup. Sometimes it's hard to believe that so much attitude can fit into such a small dog.

Yesterday I was leaving the house to run some errands and much to my surprise sitting just outside my door was a rather LARGE package. Contained in the package was a mixture of baby things my grandmother from up north had sent down for our baby shower,

A bunch of onesies and footsies,

Newborn sized diapers and 200+ wipes,

In other news we finally replaced our less than appealing, beat up, cherry wood blinds with a whiter, very clean, still intact version. Say what you want about white (boring, plain) but personally I think it will go better with our future wall color. We also picked up some darker door knobs to switch our gold ones out with. Making our room into ours is a slow process but I know the end product will be worth it.

We also received some not so great news that my husband is having to go out to sea again for three weeks. I am very proud of my husband for joining the Navy, I've always looked at joining the Military as an honor but it still sucks when he has to leave. On the bright side he will be training to become more qualified for his job and will still be home for our baby shower which I can not be more happy about.

First of all I’d like
to say “Hello! Welcome to my blog!” as you can tell this is my very first blog
post, it’s very exciting and nerve racking at the same time. Any ways let’s get
to it.

I’m Theresa, a 20 year old Navy wife, mom-to-be,
and a fur mommy to my little rascal Sophie. Our little boy is due in July and
we couldn't be more excited for his arrival. I am a Southern California native
and my Husband is from Washington state currently stationed in Sunny San Diego,
California.

K and I have only been
married for 6 months and in about 6 more he’ll be on our first deployment. It
makes me sad to know he will be gone for 10 months of our child’s life. The
only thing I am looking forward to during this deployment are his emails and
getting to send him care packages, and of course his coming home.

This blog will contain
all of my thoughts and experiences, from the good days to the bad and all the beauty
in between. So come along with me on my adventure as a Navy wife.
