Technology seems to have grasped the world we live in, but believe it or not 66% of people still do not have a SmartPhone. Its true! You know that friend - the one with the flip phone. Well our friends at Loopt cant take it anymore, and have officially declared this week SmartPhone Intervention Week.

Even the @chicgeekgirl had a Motorola DynaTAC 8000x as her first phone. It was HOT, and I mean sizzling hot against your head, but boy did it look awesome. The only thing hotter than the phone was Zach Morris, or Zach Morris with is Cell Phone. But we digress...

Website Wanderlust Part Deux

The next cool site we have been playing around with is Lover.ly. We have been beta testers for this fun website for a few weeks and find it the perfect place for just about any designer or bride. Still in its infancy, this quaint little site is gaining a following with many of my fellow creatives.

So what is Lover.ly? It is a visual search engine and online cloud driven scrapbook (is everything on a cloud now?) for design inspiration. It has clever content, search technology and fabulous photography all in one proper little place.

It also boasts an archive of over 100,000 images organized by various blogging editors, contributors and a community of users, with a database "updating and evolving daily." It is not as content rich as some of its sister sites, as it leaves room to create a palate without overwhelming.

Lover.ly is the less flashy, but still uber stylish, country cousin to the flashy and colorful Pinterest. The website itself has a vintage and warm feeling, embracing the rustic princess bride looking to design a low country affair. Its a softer, less flashy approach and will appeal to just about any sweet young bride.

Check this quaint site out today to discover, search, save, and share inspiration for all things loverly.

Website Wanderlust Part 1

We are constantly researching blogs, websites and magazines for the hottest colors, trends, fashions, social media facinations and fabulous frivolity that will inspire our clients and take their senses to a new height.

This picture blog allows you to not only look at/upload beautiful pictures that are your inspiration, but to "re-pin" pictures from others, creating easy digital inspiration/story boards. Pictures can be sorted by topics, recipes, quotes, or simply by colors. The searches are endless, and so are the "pinners" or people who have posted photos.

I downloaded the Pinterest app to my iPad and now can use it to show clients, the P3 Team, or to anyone who I choose to share cool things with. I will leave you with one of my favorite images of all times that comes from Pinterest. It is of thousands of Paper Lanterns at Loy Kratong (Floating Lantern) Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is the most blissfully romantic sky, inspiring so many wonderful travel lust dreams. I am in love. In love with Pinterest, and I hope you will be too.

Austin Ranch By Intern Emily

August 18, 2011 PeaPod did an event for Dr. Armstrong and all her patients. It was located at Austin Ranch in Grapevine. The event was a back to school anniversary party. There was something for all ages at the party; there was fishing, swimming, a DJ, face painter, a photo booth, cupcake station, balloon artist, pool tables, ping pong tables, and of course food.
The PeaPod Group did an excellent job with this event. Everyone was on key, and ready to go!

All ages got in on the fun!

Over-all the event was very successful and everyone had a great time! The kids, along with the parents, had a great time. It was a great way to close summer and get this school year started with a bang.

Original style can be described as looking different from others, but still has great fashion sense.
The best examples of "original style" would be Vera Bradley, Lilly Pulitzer, and Kate Spade.
Vera Bradley is a name brand company that specializes in hand bags and other sorts of bags.
Their bags have a stitched looked with different colors and patterns. Vera Bradley is one of my favorite companies to shop with when I am looking for a new bag. When it comes to Vera Bradley there is something for everyone.
Vera Bradley offers a wide variety of products, everything from purses, wallets, stationary items, and beach towels.
The "hipster" is my favorite bag! The bag is perfect for outings, its hands free and efficient. It goes over your shoulder and sits on your hip. It has three pockets inside of it and a outside pocket, as well as a outside zipper pocket. On the back is a bigger zipper pocket as well. With the bag being cloth it gives a little more than your average purse.

The beach towel is another on of my favorites. It is rather big and really soft! The towel keeps its color after washes too! that's a big plus.

The Euro Wallet is in my opinion the best wallet that Vera Bradley offers. It is not to big, but stores a lot. There is a total of eleven places for cards and things and one spot for an ID. Two sections for cash, and one zipper pocket on the outside for coins. It is ideal if you carry smaller purses.
If you are looking for a style that is sophisticated but yet casual, Lilly Pulitzer is the way to go! Lilly Pulitzer offers women's fashion and children's fashion. Many of their clothes have a wide variety of patterns and colors on them, as well as many simple staple items.

This outfit is something I would consider a staple outfit. The shirt and shorts can be worn with many other different colors and as different styles.

These shorts truly resemble the Lilly Pulitzer fashion! The shorts are vibrant and the floral pattern is something Lilly Pulitzer is known for.

Lilly Pulitzer has a feature on their website that shows you all of their current prints and what styles comes in those prints. There are fifteen different patterns to choose from on the website.

For example this pattern comes in all of these styles.

Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley are popular choices when it comes to orginal style. Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley are sophisticated but yet causal. When you are looking for orginal style look for things that are different and that not everybody wears. Look for bold colors, and vibrant prints.

When the time comes to put away all your tank tops and shorts and you hit the racks for your new fall fashions; look for bold, bright colors. Try and step out of your comfort box and go bold, the colors for Fall 2011 are bold, fierce, and intriguing.

Here are a few examples of the 2011 fall colors.

Electric Blue
There are many variations of blue out there, but this fall electric, and cobalt blue are the most popular.

Burnt Orange
There is a big difference in orange and burnt orange, when choosing colors for your fall wardrobe look for deeper oranges. Such as; pumpkin, or burnt orange.

Bright Red
When you wear anything red it screams fierce and confident.

Lemon Yellow
You normally see yellows in spring collection, but experiment with mustard yellow, and canary yellow.

Magenta
This fabulous color is my favorite. You can mix and match with this color or it can be worn alone. You can wear anything black, and throw in some magenta and your outfit can be transformed from blah to chic.

Creams and Beige
These have always been popular and a great choice if your trying to achieve a sophisticated look. These colors also can be mixed in matched with the other fall colors for an endless number of outfits.

Super Bowl Party Tips & Tricks

We just can't help but be so excited about our involvment in the Super Bowl!!! So to keep the spirit going, we give you fun tips for your own Super Bowl party. This is your chance to get crazy and fun with football.

1. Keep it simple:

Here is a party where no one is expecting a 3 course meal so, order food in!!! The stress of having grown men jumping and yelling around the television is scary enough! Chips & salsa, hot wings, and a couple varieties of beer will keep you going to the last quarter. Whatever you do, DON'T. FORGET. THE NAPKINS!!!

2. Get creative:

Try out a fun table display like this one from Hostess with the Mostess. Turn your table into a football field with green felt and little football figurines. Don't forget the ref!

3. Keep it fun:

The PeaPod Group is helping out with the official one, so how about hosting your own "Craziest Fan Contest"? Or a "Touchdown Dance" contest. This would be especially fun if you are having guests who will be rooting for different teams! Have pompoms, noise makers, and a big open space for your guests to go crazy and show their spirit. Winner gets a homemade crown to deem him/her ruler of the crazies!

Arlington Presents: Craziest Fan Contest

We've been about ready to burst at the seams with excitement about our upcoming events with the Arlington Convention & Visitor's Bureau, and now we can finally share!

The “Craziest Fan” contest to be held at Lincoln Square (near Petsmart) on Saturday, February 5, 2011. The winner deemed the “Craziest Fan” wins two tickets to The Big Game in Arlington on February 6.

Joining the Craziest Fan contest as Master of Ceremonies is Ross Mathews, known to millions from his appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Chelsea Lately with Chelsea Handler. Whether he is covering movie premieres, the Winter Olympic Games, the Academy Awards, jumping out of a plane or shopping in London with pal Gwyneth Paltrow, Ross' unique approach is always fresh, outrageous and fun. E! Entertainment Television named Ross one of the 30 Most Outrageous Celebrities, solidifying his spot as one of the most exciting personalities on television today. PartyFest 2011

The PeaPod Group is super busy working towards the SuperBowl next month. But we've got some awesome events coming up this month that you need to know about!!!

This Wednesday, January 12th, is PartyFest 2011! Exclusively for vendors, this event is going to bring the newest and most amazing event industry trends and hot-ticket items for 2011. A tradeshow and a few educational seminars will get you prepped for an amazing year. For registration information hurry over to their site!!

The PeaPod girls will be there for the second showing of our new Chic Bling stations and some other really neat stuff! We will be also be giving out VIP tickets for the Dallas Bridal Show coming up on January 29th & 30th. But you have to stop by our booth to get them!

Rawrcast's 100th Episode

As many of you may be aware of, our Director of Marketing (DOM) - Denise Duke - is a World of Warcraft Podcaster on Rawrcast. Her weekly show hosted alongside her longtime partner Rusty (Hafrot) reached a major milestone last month.

Playing World of Warcraft (WoW) isn't just a game, it's a business for Denise. After broadcasting LIVE on Ustream for nearly 2 years, they published their 100th Episode. During this time, Denise has networked with gaming companies, fellow podcasters, social media management companies, public relations specialists, and fan community websites around the world. Her dedication and interest in a documentary film featuring the WoW community resulted in "The Raid" Event.

In October, PeaPod Group and Rawrcast were proud to host the first ever corporate sponsored WoW fan community After-Party at the close of BlizzCon. Our nerd-sense set the bar and made "The Raid" the most talked about event on Twitter. The event was broadcast live on the internet to over 2.1K people all over the world, and featured music by Big Daddy!

In addition to pulling together "The Raid" Event in October, and networking within the gaming industry at every opportunity, Denise also manages a staff of 12 writers who contribute to Rawrcast with blogs and audio segments. All of the staff are volunteers, and through our contacts we tend to get the inside scoop on WoW-happenings and breaking news!

So, while gaming makes us geeks, marketing makes us smart geeks! Congratulations to Denise and Rusty on their 100th Episode, the WoW Nerds are looking forward to the next 100!

The Knot Party 2010

Two weeks ago, the PeaPod group was lucky enough to be the official planner of the Texas Knot Party for 2010 It was held at the Omni Fort Worth and it. was. amazing! The Pea, herself, Ms. Marla Watson, really went over the top for this dual-themed shindig and little did the guests know that the "Texas Chic" theme on the outside would transform into the loud, colorful, and authentic "Club Havana" experience inside. So many amazing people helped make this event possible, and we just have to thank them for everything!

Gorgeous designs for the programs, menus, and drink tags by Ms. Mandi McGee from Creative Invites.

We have to thank Deanna Ogg and the Omni Fort Worth for going above and beyond to make this party awesome. The food and custom drinks, especially, made a huge impact on the party vibe. Above is the specialty Jalapeno Martini guests were served. It definiately had a kick!

Elizabeth from Le Popcorn in Southlake set up a beautiful gourmet popcorn station with crazy, yummy flavors like puppy chow! Yes, please!

With two separate and unique themes, the linens played a huge role in making sure the transformation really happened. Of course, Ms. Linda Sergeant with BBJ Linens, came prepared with the most stunning linens for both rooms.

And, how about these amazing cakes from Delicious Cakes? Amazingly detailed and, not to mention, tasty! Our peeps at Delicious Cakes always go over the top!

All of the beautiful decor, furniture, and floral elements were so expertly crafted by our good friend Travis Lee More of Functions Event Group.

But, it just wouldn't be a party with out Chris "Big Daddy" Andrews and Big Daddy Productions. People can't stay off the dancefloor if he's in charge.

The Knot Party also served as the debut of "Chic Bling by PeaPod". Our girls made gorgeous pipe cleaner cocktail fings for the guests on site and everyone (even the boys) had a blast with these. The great thing about these is that they are completely customizable and make awesome favors for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, or anything you can think of! Haute Weddings at the Adolphus

This past weekend, the PeaPod girls made an appearance at the Haute Weddings Show in Dallas, Texas. From inside the Century Room at the beautiful Adolphus Hotel, we were blessed to meet so many wonderful brides and catch up with friends in the industry.

Catching up with the PeaPod Girls

It has been a busy, busy few months for the PeaPod girls.

Last month, we helped throw a stellar Sweet 16 party for our girl, Kristen at BluDoor Studios. Kristen wanted a blue, night club themed party for her family and friends. Everyone had a great time dancing the night away! Thanks to our peeps at BluDoor Studios, Celebration Event Rental, Fuddruckers Catering, Randal Stout Entertainment, and Bling Bling Cupcakes for making this hip shindig possible.

Then, earlier this October, the team traveled to Aledo to help put together a beautiful Fall wedding for the new Mr. & Mrs. Steve Martin. The wedding was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. We couldn't have done it without Creative Cuisine, DJ Mark Pederson, Kim of Carpe Vita Photography, Bling Bling Cupcakes, Rental Stop, Macaux Floral, and Celebration Event Rental.

And most recently, we helped throw a Texas Hold 'Em themed 60th birthday for the lovely Dianne Roberts. Again, we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather. A big thanks to Celebration Event Rentals, Amazing Cakes and Cookies, Out of the Garden, Up in Smoke Catering, Encore Entertainment and the Jeff Taylor Band for keeping the guests going into the night!
