I hope your year has got off to a good start.

Here is an idea for a card and my first card of the year.

It is always difficult making cards for men or teenage boys. This is a card I made for a customer. She said he liked mobile phones and was always on his, so could I do something along those lines.
Well I said that I would, then went into a panic because I had nothing in my stash

.....Happy New Year......

Well that's it all bar the shouting... the presents have all been given, received and opened ( Did you get what you wanted?) and we have eaten far too much....... Thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year.

I hope you have had a lovely Christmas, whether it be the hectic visiting of family and friends and the endless round of parties, or a quiet stay at home Christmas with

Christmas Door Tutorial

I don't know what the weather has been like where you are but it has been pretty foggy here all day. As a result the poor dog didn't get his 6 mile walk today. I did take him for a run in the fields. You couldn't see from one side of the field to the other so at times I couldn't see Dan.

Oh well on a brighter note I have a little tutorial for you. I have had a couple of requests

A Bead Adventure

Normally my craft is card making but every now and then I like a change. Well this weekend I have made myself a beaded necklace.

I used seed beads and stone chips, the chips are of two different colours. Aqua and brown. I'm not a seasoned beader so I used a tried and tested simple spiral rope design . I used the seed bead as the core bead and the stone chips for the spiral

A Clarity Stamp Christmas

I have more cards made with the Noel stamp from Clarity Stamps.

This is a one layer card. The stamped Noel is masked off and the background is sponged inside the O then I have over stamped with the Camels. I then masked off Noel again but this time I have sponged in the background outside The O. I used torn paper as one of the masks to create the sand dunes.

Well it is a wet and miserable Monday afternoon. I do hope the weather is better where you are.

On to today's card .

Here I have inked up a Clarity Noel stamp with Memento Paris Dusk, laid some of fantasy fibres over the image.then placed a heat proof sheet over the top of the fibres. Then with a hot iron, ironed over the lot.

This was just an experiment but it turned out so

Just one more character

Last week I posted a couple of character cards, I mentioned I could see a cat as a card, so, here it is.

To build the face I used circle and heart punches. I have had so much fun with these.

I know I said I would post the dimensions for these cards in a couple of days. Oh well better late than never...

To make these cards I used a card fold I found on SplitcostStampers and

A couple of Side Spring Card Characters.

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since my last post.

I have a feeling you might forgive me though. I have a couple of cute little characters to show you. I got the idea for these from HERE at Splitcoststampers, there is also a great tutorial for the card fold.

These cards are both made on a side spring card. As I work with A4 card most of the time I have made these from A4 card

Draw a branch

This card was inspired by Paint Fusion, one stroke painting it's a technique I couldn't quite master. I had a few practice attempts they were ok-ish I suppose but I wasn't happy with the results . Later I got the idea to have a go with my Art and Graphic pens. After a few more practice runs I was much happier. I was now ready to draw the branch on to my card blank.

This is a quick and excited post to night. For my birthday last month my DH bought me a ticket for a balloon flight.

Waa Hoooooo .... I went this afternoon and it was fantastic, brilliant, absolutely superb.
I have taken loads of pic's but I won't bore you with them all.

Yes the balloon is in that little bag.

Unpacked.... now to blow it up....
Later we have to get in there

Window stepper card.

Hope you have had a good weekend.

I have been playing with more Marianne Design Creatables, this time I have been using a Poinsettia cutter. I love these cutters.
I like a classic looking Christmas card.

Here it is again but this time cut out in white.

The church window is a peeloff and I have cut out the card within the window.
The stamp used on both cards is a Clarity stamp.

I have another card to show. I used a holly corner stamp from Clarity Stamps to create a frame.
Then stamped a tree ( also from Clarity Stamps ) on a separate piece of card stock, cut it out and mounted it on foam pads to one side of the frame.
Inside the frame I used one of the village die cutters used in my last post.
Well that's all for now. I hope you like it. I hope you've had a good weekend.

Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago.
For this card I used the "Marianne Design Creatables" cutters
I added a sprinkle of glammer dust for a bit of sparkle.

I really like clean and simple looking cards.

The wreath on this card was made with ribbon and the greeting is hand written.
Here is a link of a tutorial by Sue Wilson.
To make my wreath I used 1.5 mtr of 3mm ribbon. I worked the ribbon until it was about 11cm.

The only tools used in making this was my trusty Fiskars trimmer, Hougie

Kanban Music

Just a quick little post tonight before I go to bed.

Here is something different for the music lover I hope. I was playing with a set of stamps from Kanban and the T H Tatty flower.....

and this is what I came up with. Sometimes when I start playing I don't know what I'm going to end up with but I was quite happy with the end result.

I hope you like it and thank you for visiting

Inking "Less is More" Challenge week 28

I have joined in this week with the challenge over at "Less is More" the brief this week is a one layer card using ink. It's been a while since I have joined in with a challenge.

This appealed to me and thought I would have a go. I have not messed about with ink in this way before.
Using distress refill inks.

For my first attempt I dropped a few spots of colour onto a glass

Another envelope formula

As promised in my last post my formula for working out paper size for rectangle envelopes.

So here goes..........
This tut is for a rectangle card

1) Cut a piece of scrap paper or card to the size of the card you need to make the envelope for.

What a beautiful day it has been today. The sun is shining here on little old Heanor.

Well I don't have a card for you but I do have a little tutorial.
From time to time we need to make an envelope for a card that dose not fit a regular sized, ready made envelope. Unless you are good at guessing what size paper you need to make the envelope it can be a bit of a hit and miss

Another Commission

This is my last post today.
I just want to show you a couple of commissions I had recently.

This card I made using my Pazzles Inspirations cutter.

I was asked for a card for a little girl for her second birthday, also for it to be pink and as simple as possible.

A friend of mine asked me to make this card for the caretaker at our local school. It was for his

Double cascade cards

Another little post while my tea is cooking.
The insperation for these cards came from a card I saw on one of my many travels around the internet ( I do a lot of blog hopping ) . The cards I saw were made with digital down loads using A4 card, designed by a lady called Carol Dunne at CraftUprint. I loved what she had done but I have made my cards using double sided 12" x 12" card

Twisted

I'm playing catch up, and this is my third post of the day

Any way I have a twisted easel card for you.

The Stamps I used in this card are new from Kan Ban. The detail in them is just beautiful. Stamped on cream card stock with Memento rich coco.

Rose Creations

This is my second post on this wet miserable Monday. At least it's warm and dry in doors.

Here is a card I made for my big buvver.
The sentiment is computer generated. The image is stamped and kept simple. I coloured the bike with the same ink I stamped it with, which was Memento rich coco.

Thank you for visiting see you again with another card soon.
