Thank you cards

Hello. Blogging has been a bit sporadic as I’ve been busy with our new baby Bea and Wilf, I say new but she’s been with us for nearly 6 months – wow it’s whizzed by. She is happily sleeping while I type, awww if only she was so restful at night.

I’ve been mildly creative on my maternity leave, encouraging Wilf to make thank you cards for his Christmas presents. This was met with a bit of resistance, the creative gene hasn’t kicked in yet, he’s much more into trains, ridiculously so, maybe we should have gone for Hornby magazine collages instead. But with some coaxing and a stack of jelly babies as bait we completed 25 cards, mmmm… delighted with the results but we might be more prompt next year if I invest in a ‘thank you rubber stamp’ or just get shop bought!

Thanks for the crazy Christmas rush – we’ve cracked open the Cadburys Roses and have just packed the final orders before we put our feet up for the holidays.

Our studio will be closed from 14.30 on 23rd December until 3rd January, when the next orders will be dispatched. Lots of love and good wishes in the meantime!

Christmas deliveries

Here is the heads up on getting your pressies before Christmas. Royal Mail suggest Tuesday 20th as the last day for sending UK first class recorded mail in time for the 25th. Any orders received before 10am on the 20th will be dispatched promptly on the same day and providing we don’t get swamped in metres of snow they’ll be there for the big day.

Plan B (if you’re running a bit late or are just a bit jittery about the timings) is to opt for a ‘next day special delivery’ which is an additional £5. If you would like your prints sent using this service please contact us and we can quickly arrange this for you. We can send any orders received before 10am on the 22nd via the next day service.

There is potential for a plan C – if you’ve been super busy and Christmas has passed you by (like us!). Royal Mail offer a ‘Saturday guarantee’ service and we can look into for any last minute shoppers. Again, please call/email us and we’ll happily discuss.

In the meantime, enjoy the festivities.

Blogging might be a bit sporadic over the coming weeks, Christmas is an industrious time of printing and packing at Bold & Noble. In the meantime, who could tire of looking at Donna Wilson’s fine woolens. Her collection has expanded, still time to make some last minute additions to the Santa list…

The World

It’s been a long time in the making, but the World type map is finally complete. The print is twice the size of our usual prints at 100 cm x 70 cm and comes in a choice of three colours – a new reflex blue, warm grey plus the ever popular sheer slate. All are carefully wrapped in tissue and delivered in robust tubes – the perfect gift for globe trotters…

Book covers at Bold & Noble

Six years ago after having worked as a book cover designer at Harper Collins and Hodder & Stoughton I decided to become a freelance designer. It’s been a hugely enjoyable time and over the last three years I’ve worked on projects for both DesignedbyDavid and Bold & Noble.

We’ve now decided to move the book cover side of the business over to the Bold & Noble Studio section, here you’ll find selected cover designs as well as commissions for a wider range of clients. I’ll still be working in exactly the same way and you can download a pdf of recent publishing projects on the site. Thanks for all the commissions over the last six years.
