Latest Blogsite Information & Status

       Over the passed two months much has happen with regards to the updating of this blog. In the past I would simply have written a poem, short story and or redirected my loyal readers to any one of my other exclusive venue sites. Those sites, like Hubpages and the now extinct Squidoo, which had displayed many other already published writings. These sites gained me more friends, fans and followers.

      I will, from this day forward, use this blogsite exclusively for aiding those writers, who come here in need of assistance. It will hereafter, be used to enlighten, inform and redirect to other sites that were likewise created to promote English writing. Be it English grammatical structure, literary styles and or creating content based on classic literary formats, poetic venues or any of the written material attributed to "Writing"!

     For those of you who are here to read any of the pieces similar to those that I have published before, I will give you directions to a few new sites that I am creating for those venues. My poetic verses will be found on a site dedicated to poetry. My short stories will grace the pages of another of my other sites which
exist for that purpose.

   I will be exhibiting previews of my novels and e-books on sites which will allow me to do so, in the near future. Be sure to check back here as I will use TPWS to announce all these news items periodically, my dear friends, fans and followers. This past July several notable milestones were reached. This month saw the largest increase of visitors ever in TPWS now five year history. Yes, friends on August the first The Professor's Write Site was publishing and a real online presence. The highs and lows over those years were weathered by this blog / website.This was due mainly to the support of all of it's wonderful faithful fans.

EU Laws Requirement Addressed

Yesterday evening I received the following message when checking in on The Professor's Write Site Blog presently published here on Blogspot.ca. TPWS was created and published in 2010 on Blogger.Com. I complied with all the Terms and Conditions requested by Google as the Controller of the Blogger, Blogspot site which hosts my blog.

When TPWS was published it appeared formerly and initially as a sub domain ending with Blogspot.com.Later Google unilaterally changed that to the current desigination of blogspot.ca. While unhappy with that change I still continued to maintain this site as I felt it was performing a much needed service to those who wanted it.

That there has been an increase in traffic and readership seems to bear the truth of that statement. For that I am deeply grateful to all of my readers. Now back to the reason for this post. Below I've decided to copy and republish the troubling notice which appeared on my dashboard and cause me to reply to it here in print.

The Verb that becomes a Noun: Behold the Gerund.

When is a verb, not a verb?

If you take a Verb and give it the suffix “ing” you have created a Gerund!

A Gerund??? Yes the resulting word is a noun imitator called a gerund!

The term “Writer” has been used to encompass a variety of stylists who communicate in words The myriad of ways, methods and venues, are simply staggering, when one ponders them. Whether you are an author, blogger, columnist, essayist or journalist, the term writer is applied. Introduction:

There is an artistry to making any piece of fictional writing worth reading. How successful, depends on the believability of the characters that the readers can readily recognize. Early character recognition allows the writer's audience to find, identify and choose which of the various player parts most appeals to them. The more detailed the principle personalities are presented for ones readers, the quicker their roles can be ascertained as to the impact each has in the storyline.

Descriptive writing is to print what detailed graphic art, colour and definition is to the animated film. The subtlety of a well placed adjective can be the difference between a sentence and key piece of plot development. Such constructive detailing adds greatly to the avid readers interest, appreciation and participation.

My Friends,

A lot has occurred since I or any of my colleagues have posted on this blog. The original intent of "The Professor's Write Site", has somehow gotten side tracked with the passage of time. Having now reached a crossroads, some serious reflection seemed quite àpropos for yours truly and writers on this blog site.

With age, experience and observation, comes Maturity.

But which type of maturity do you, our visitors, prefer?

Now after a few personal setbacks, some deep introspection and the passage of time, I feel that this site needs to focus for those who are still in need of help. So what is it that all of you wish to find, here and now?

I believe that the majority of you are still looking to become better writers. I believe that by having someone who has written guide you will develop confidence in your own abilities.

Maturity is something to be appreciated when it is approached from an age of retrospection. Having had the time to revisit the types of material posted here and the expectations of any serious visitor to this site, I immediately saw some issues, which needed attending to. Henceforth my many stories, poetry and fiction will be relegated to sites better suited to readers, not perspective writers in waiting.

This site will be reverting back to its original format.

Those who came here initially, did so to improve their skills without fear of rebuke. Those early seekers of wordsmithery followed me here in hope that my friends,colleagues and I would read their requests for some personal assistance. Like Yoda we would endeavour to impart from our collective wisdom the guidance necessary to help them improve their skill sets.

Grand Reopening - TPWS is Back

TPWS: It's Opened And I Am Back:

The very last posting on this site was to shut this site down for a much needed sabbatical. I was then facing a very real site identity crisis which needed to be addressed immediately due to computer malfunctioning events. The infamous "Blue Screen of Death" was the final touch that required my immediate attention.

Attempting a Rewrite of One's Own Original Piece

For all those new visitors, as well as our many faithful followers, I've just finished adding the latest touches on one of the most valuable pages on this site. Lately I have been asked about this sites "Freebies" for those struggling writers who feel the need for any programs that can aid them in their writing efforts.

Here is the latest installment for everyone who have visited "The Professor's Write Site". "The Writers Resources and Links" is my way of providing "Freebies" which I've assessed, used and or been informed about. The majority of the programs are Freeware! The majority of the links are online sites, that I have used and heartily endorse to anyone who cares to visit them.

Based on the input that I've received on my "Contact Me" page, This page had become almost invisible . This article, as such, is designed to get that section the attention that it richly deserves. The Long Road Back

No! The very idea of just quitting on Writing, had never been an option for me! For that matter to the best of my knowledge, just quitting hadn't ever been an option for my parents either! Gone in a Flash.

Over six months ago, my personal and literal worst literary nightmare occurred. Just Imagine that you have just finished a reorganization of your total literary output. You are getting better and better at grammatical composition, story diagramming and even getting the hang of self publishing. Everything is nearly perfect. All things being equal, you're now about ready to bust out in the literary scene, then the unthinkable happens.

Welcome once again, to all our great, loyal followers and very faithful fans of this site. It is my pleasure to announce that we now have more new members today joining our International family as our latest visitors to this Site.
