“No Moral Victories”

2020-10-04T09:14:00.000-07:00

For this Bengals fans I could care less about personal stats, swagger, “lose: but feel good about things” kinda vibes. And I’m glad Joey B feels the same:

“I'll never be about momentum or positive experiences to me," Burrow said. "I'm about winning. I expect to win. I know we expect to win. No moral victories around here."

Not to mention moral “ties”...ugg. Folks at 0-3 I’m already tired of the losing. That’s right, even with a rookie, last time I checked rookies have won SB’s right : Rapelessburger fans?

So was I expecting an SB this year? Of course not, but a Bullock Bungle, and another tie to the sucking Beagles? + a loss to the Clowns? I’m already tired, and getting more pissed every time I see Burrow get smashed. Unless we start winning soon, how long can that humble dude take this mess without suffering life long nagging injuries, not to mention the mental side that no wins can bring. Joey B will never suffer from losing like this fan of 50 years has. So he wont play long enough at this physically abuse rate, so don’t sweat it Joe, there’s always traction and bone pins and rehab. I am starting to doubt even if Joey B can survive the Mike Brown led Bungles.

Joe Burrow: "It’s my job to make that guy miss and make a play. I don’t get paid to take sacks, I get paid to make plays."

Once again the young dude taking ownership, but since we don’t have wins I guess ill join the “search for something good club” and post some favorable Burrow stats.....yawn...

Rookie QBs with at least 800 pass yds, 5 pass TD and less than 2 INT in their first 3 starts:

Joe Burrow.

That's it.

That’s all we got. And As I see the flurry of no name OL being signed off and on the scrub squad I SMH hold my breath and hope to see Burrow survive the next jarring blow. WIN !

Say it ain’t so Ole Mikey Brown, tell us you have some compassion left in that cheap Scrooge heart ?

What I respect most in Joey B after his self imposed grade of D, is that this simply shows his drive and expectation. He has made no excuses and owned a 'Good' 1st start for a rookie without pre-season games, and without all the normal prep work given to teams during normal seasons.

Quick Takes:

- Burrow had 2.1 seconds to get rid of the football, the worst in weak one. The O line has to get better or be improved, to protect the young franchise. I heard a-lot of Bobby Hart Sucks discussion. Jonah Williams will get better heck he hadn't played in two years. (Mo Egger Show @MoEgger1530

- Where was Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd: Part on Joe part on play calling. This will be fixed with Joe's growth.

- Defense? Not the strength of my Bengals, well it was a against a journeyman NFL Qb. but we will take it.

- Browns game? I feel good :)

Hmmm lets take a Field trip around the league on a Monday Morning to see how the "Teams" and performances on all our Buckeye Greats did yesterday:

- JK Dobbins Ran it up on the Browns: WIN !

- Haskins (1 TD NO INT'S ) and Chase Young (1.5 sacks tons of pressure) WIN with a HOG reborn Defense (8 sacks),

- Joey Bosa's (1 sack and tons of pressure) At the expense of my Bungles: they earn their name back when they DONT Bungle it) WIN.

- I’m sure I’m leaving out more Former Buckeye success...

Meanwhile in my 'nATi:

Joe Burrow shows amazing poise on a final drive, throws what could have been called a tip toe TD by Greene, and rightly so (?) pushing off is called. So allll the kicker (no named to protect him who BTw had not missed a chip shot in what 44 attempts?) has to do is punch through a chip shot to tie and DOINK, he Bungles it and sprains his TuTu and Bengals Lose.

If my Buckeyes were not good enough to quiet Joeys Ego by taking the National Championship, thanks Refs 😡 (a Big issue I would have had, if the Buckeyes played LSU in the NC game lol), then I can only hope the Bungle curse has a good chance ! Say it wont be so Joe!

No Mr Wizard theres no Bengal Curse, theres no Bengal Curse, theres no......

Even Joe Burrow can’t stop the Bungle curse, well not yet....

2020-09-13T16:45:00.006-07:00

No need to wait for Monday: Joe Burrow put the Bengals in a position and the kicker pulled his groin or Tutu or something to lose the game, welcome to the nATi JoeyB

In a NFL world where a swaggy QB named Patrick Lavon Maholmes II:

- Is all about The Swag

- Backs it up with his play and then kisses his muscles

Joe Burrow, with that statement, lets us know his confidence is on point, and may be a hint at some score and swag when it happens. After years of Mr Nice Guy Andy Dalton NEVER making a statement like that, I for one, love it. Old guy sitting on his couch get used to it, embrace it, and enjoy it! Confidence/Cockiness a fine line, Joe Burrow do your thang 👍!

Ok #WhoDey fans its been a little bit, But guess what: Im Back ! Why you ask? Hmmm lets Ponder Jungle Brethren:

- The arrival of Joe Burrow? Ok new life, Ill buy it.

- We can't be as bad as last year, can we? I disagree, maybe not as bad a team but yes, possibly as bad a record: Rookie QB, Bad O-line, same D, all points to a losing season, so yes I don't see more than 4 wins, more makes me happy! :)

Relax Everyone Relax: "Mellloooow Melllooooow" "Are you mellow man?"

Ok, take deep cleansing-day-after-breaths, it was easy as this:

-The Texans played Great D, they should have being top 10 in the NFL

-So Did My Bengals D

-Dalton Floated A Few Passes

Bengals don't Drop balls, even Eifert Tower (Thinkin about You Paris!🇫🇷)

Eifert Dropped 3 huge ones:

Bengals TE Tyler Eifert: 'I played awful' IKR? Thanks Eif I know you and AD will be connecting nicely again soon :)))

- WhoDeys are 8 -1

- This game COULD and hopefully will be a huge wakeup call.

But Ill tell you this: Cincys hardest test to date will be @Arizona and with Palmer who played amazingly against the Sea Chickens.Former #9 your not missed because the Red Rifle will have more than BB's this Sunday ;) Pow Pow ! Get em Andy!

- and Finally Andy, you've had thick skin your entire career, even keeled, nothing riles you, your great with controversy, so don't let thick Head JJ get in yours !

Relax and Enjoy the season WhoDeys !

Bengals Achilles Heel: The Secondary ! And Why WhoDeys will be 14-2 !!

2015-11-13T12:11:00.000-08:00

Post Texan Collapse Edit: Ok Ok 13-3 ? And Andy you've had thick skin your whole career don't let thick head JJ get in yours ;)

Stay Strong WhoDeys !

I have to single out our two vets. I'm sure they have drawn my ire and focus because they are always on the field..thus they get much credit for huge stops and wins this year, all that being said, i have my doubts:

Dre Kirkpatrick and Old Man Pac Man.

I know, I know, Adam Jones is having a Career Year". Dre has been attempting to create a baby Revis Island lately, but whatever you do, don't google his coverage of Steve Smith in the Bmore game ;) I cant shake this feeling that once we play "elite" QB's: Quiter Palmer and Peyton, these two boys may be exposed for non elites..Pac Man: he is elite! He takes amazing risks, jumping routes etc... It has been paying off. But its those risks that could result in a receiver flying free towards the end zone. His punt returns are electric, and he might need some to make up for ??? Hey Pac just watch that fake flying arm fair catch sign that didnt work lol. Am I the stateing the obvious?: all players have tough games, but this season will be under a much bigger and focused microscope, so if there the is too be an "exposure" of any weaknesses (aka Jeremy Hills NFL low yards per carry etc..) lets not have it happen in crunch time eh ?

I know everyone reading this (all 2 of you, thanks MOM, wait, she hates Fball lol...glad THAT apple fell far from that tree !) is waiting for my predictions on an undefeated season, but i don't do predictions, normally. Its hard not to think of what games we could lose, undefeated ? In Ochos word "Child Pffft Olease" One thing marrero: a strong playoff run and ultimately a game in SF ;) That being said we will be no matter than 14-2:

V. Texas, JJ Watt and the Bald QB ? Is Hoyer back yet? Who cares..thats the point. There Offense is weak, thus D is on the field too much...but Cincy cant have Let down we better not!

Bengals Win 9-0

V. Cardinals, I will never wish an injury on anyone, we've seen Quitter slumped on the ground before don't want that, but if Palmer is seen getting up slow from under a Dunlap/Atkins sandwich: Sweet!

Bengals 1st Loss? Maybe....cards remind me of The Panthers, but not as mean.WhoDey question is answered for 1st and only time?

Bengals Lose 9-1

V. Rams and @ Brownies, Battle of OH #2

Bengals Win Both 11-1

V. Steeler week #2, Hmmmmm, no contest:

Bengals win Big! 12 -1

V. @ Niners, trap game? Nope.

Bengals Win 13-1

V. Broncos, I will be home in the 'NaTi with all my Boyzzzz.... Will I be the sacrificial lamb fan and take one AT HOME on Monday Football for the WhoDeys ?...maybe... maybe not !

Bengals WIN 14-1

V. Bmore, Sketchy Rey Rey (see blood trail and weird recent video) will NOT be coming out of the Ohio River to assist Falco, Fargo, whats that QB name whose team has disappeared ? who cares....lol

Bengals win final 15-1

wait...my headline said 14-2, I know, I know, but there is another loss in here somewhere...I'm just NOT trying to be Debbie Downer, but we will lose 2, maybe three games. And then, 1st round bye to Play in the Jungle, BTW I hate that vibe for a team on a roll: time off = complacency for teams that don't have winning experiences after byes. Google it, Bengals are not world beaters there. Folks this year as the last 0-12 years have: goes through Patriot Land. We must have Home-field to advance to THAT game in the Bay, and yes I will be there ! WhoDey !

The Father of Professional Football: Paul Brown ! And The Trophy is Called "The Lombardi" ?

2015-11-08T13:49:00.000-08:00

Ok, if were not going to change the name of the Super Bowl trophy why isn't the Coach of the year Trophy called the Paul Brown Award !!?

http://www.nfl.com/videos/a-football-life/0ap3000000573462/A-Football-Life-The-Father-of-Professional-Football

No one person has ever made an impact on a sport like this:

- 1st coach to use a playbook

- 1st coach to use video tape

- 1st coach to put coordinators up in the booth (in order to see the whole field and call plays)

- He Invented the 40 Yd Dash ;) that's right : Invented it! “We timed Jerry Rice in the 40 nine times,” said former Dallas Cowboysg general manager Gil Brandt. Brandt popularized the 40, but he wasn’t the first to use it. In the 1950s, Cleveland Browns coach Paul Brown is believed to have timed his players in the 40 in training camp as a means of evaluating potential starters. Why Brown picked 40 yards is a secret he took to the grave"

- Paul Brown Invented The Draw play!

- After QB Otto Graham's face got gashed, he and an engineer at Ridell designed and created a face mask, THE 1st one ! " In 1955, G.E. Morgan, a consultant to Riddell, and Paul Brown, the coach of the Cleveland Browns, invented the BT-5 face mask which is the single bar design.

Paul Brown was a teacher and an innovator ;) The year after the mask was invented the BT-5, a single wave radio was installed in a players helmet "so the coach could give the play to the quarterback over a radio frequency. It only resulted in game time interference but the experiment (he) was ahead of its time."

- Paul Brown invented and implement the 1st plays using the West coast offence !

The Coaches that served under Paul Browns tutelage:
Bill Walsh: Multiple Super Bowl Wins
Bill Cowher: Multiple Super Bowl Wins
Don Shula Super Bowl winning Coach

Paul Brown led the way in Pro Football integration, one of the 1st coaches to sign black players. When on road games if hotels made black players use the back entrance, Coach Brown would not have his Bengals Stay there.

Coach Browns "coaching family tree" is amazing! Google it !

You tell me, but it seems this coach should be honored, how about :

The Paul Brown Trophy For Coaching Excellence

No #WeDeys on the #WhoDeys 7-0 !!!

2015-11-02T21:15:00.001-08:00

No WeDeys on Sunday 'Burgh. !!!! That was the kind of ugly game Cincy always lost. And for those of you who are giggling at my 6-1 (loss) prediction, I know, where's my faith ?
Our D was incredible, holding a gimpy yet always Dangerous RBurger to 10 points and picking him off twice in an ugly game that didn't see the Bengals go ahead until a Greene TD late. Dalton, had a momentary "Opie" moment, but kept slingin the rock until the end. These resilient Bengals at 7-0 are the class of the AFC North, and this season continues to rock !

Bring on the Browns baby !!!

Sorry Fellow #WhoDeys Bengals gonna be 6-1

2015-10-26T12:17:00.001-07:00

Some of you are going to quickly label me a pessimist. If you've never read this blog you are unfamiliar with my salt shaker:

The Bengals Decade of the 90's jaded me for ever. The Carson Palmer era almost brought me out of it. The turncoat Cali Boy did his best yellow belly move not honoring his contract. I don't want to hear that "Well it was Mike Browns fault". There were over 50 other players that honored their contracts and showed up, it's not just you and your contract Cali boy it's about the Team you let down. One day (with the help of a Ring ;))) I will bury you along with the decade of the '90's "Bungles" from my consciousness. The 2015 Bengals are doing much to help my condition, thank you boys :)So you see I am a damaged realist, not a pessimist at all. That being said Fellow WhoDeys we take one on the undefeated chin this week V the Yellow and Black:

Tomlin (Much Respect, BTW if we had him over "Sarcastic King Lewis" We WOULD have a playoff win in the last 4 years) has said RBurger returns v. Bengals in week 8.

Squealers swept us last year, they win Sunday. There coming off a tough loss, and their backs are against the wall in the Big Ketchup bottle . Should the Bengals play this season point towards a

Bengals win, maybe? But my gut sais that after the bye, we slow our roll, Bengals lose this Sunday and then DRUB Cleveland on Thursday Night Fball. Don't worry Bengal fans we beat The Burgh in
the second game in the jungle ;)

4 things may prove me wrong (hopefully ;)
1. Roethlisburger doesn't play (or Dunlap WWE's him and whacks the ankle)
2. It's a 1pm game, Andys "Prime Time"
3. Bengals D has best game of the year, mainly our sometimes shredded secondary's, is Denard ready yet !?? ;)
4. Dalton continues his never before witnessed kick-ass-ery

Go Ahead and prove me wrong 'Nati Bengals I'm cool with that ;)

1st let me apologize for my "few years sabbatical" from this Blog: Career change etc, not that anyone noticed, but if your reading this: thank you ! :)

Yesterday's Heart stopping, hand wrenching Comeback by My Bengals: An Instant Classic !

For a few years now a dear FB friend (well, and fellow HS Alum) has affectionately dubbed/Glossed Andy Dalton with the moniker: "Opie". Why you ask ? Probably his happy go lucky, fixing-his-cool-Ginger-hair-due-on-the-sideline, smiling and "awe shucking" 0-4 Playoff self. Well that is over ! Tonight (while watching the Bolts hopefully humble that yellow and gold team from the Burg ;) I will toast The "New" Andy Dalton/AD/The Red Rifle and ceremoniously bury the name "Opie" from my
rants.

Why ?: His never say die play and attitude, his "demanding a play from the sideline" when he wants the up tempo to roll. His leading of two amazing comebacks already (Bmore and Seattle). He's earned respect, admiration and us True Bengals fans Having his back !

There will or never should be any booing of Op... See ! Lol.. Andy at a celebrity softball game in Cincy again. He's earned that! Of course the inspired Defense, the amazing wealth of targets he has, Coach Hue Jacksons creative play calling (did you see the line shifts early on ???) are all necessary ingredients to this fun start ! More please !

Even Coach Marvin Lewis In his own strange way is doing his part to motivate Andy (from my FB page last nite: I just heard Marvin's post game comment on Dalton "He hasn't Changed, the players around him have raised there...." Huh ? The main reason We're winning is due solely to the play of
Dalton!!! He's probably staying with the "keep all pressure of Andy" thing :)

The entire team gets credit, heck maybe even Ol' Mike Brown ;) #WhoDey ? Next !

Surprise Surprise Surprise! Bengals delivered an unexpected season and fresh anticipation !

2012-01-27T22:53:00.000-08:00

Surprise Surprise Surprise

I know it's been a while since my last post, which wasn't because of the disappointment of MY Bengals loss, You all know I'm very loyal, but once our season is over, my season is basically over. Yes of course I watch the playoffs and Super Bowl, but with a non-analytical, fun perspective. I have no interest in the remaining teams, I simply watch for for the fun of it, I'm only interested in one team win or lose: my Cincinnati Bengals.

It will never be easy: Pittsburgh twice/Bmore twice, Beat them and you've prepped yourself for the playoffs: Right Bengal Nation? (forget 2009, (division swept in reg season) and 1 and done to Jets, nothin but a rare a Bungle meltdown, right? Right?) So lets embrace this division and strengthen your mettle: Andy Dalton. 2012/2013 is coming! First let's take a quick look back and put a period on our final game.

Losing is losing, it sucks even if it's a young team with no expectations, so watching Bmore beat rookie TJ Yates they showed what it takes Cincy Didnt so its time to tell you whats been stewing:

A more disciplined, talented defense wouldn't let TJ Yates beat U twice, (see the huge dropped INT by Crocker) Yates was bound to make mistakes, Ravens capitalized (twice on Yates miscues) Bengals didn't.

"It was a touchdown if I would have caught it," Crocker said. "They (Texans) made those big plays and we didn't and that's why they're moving on."

And I'll say it for the last time: Bengals didn't beat the winning team all year and as Marvin said "We have to get beyond this"

And AS a Winning team gets: Cincys schedule will present that (winning teams) from the get-go next season and with two 1st round draft choices (thanks Raiders ;) and time for Dalton to grow and hopefully get hungrier, the future in Bengal nation is to say the least: interesting.

So in the infamous words of Gomer Pyle (aka Indys own Jim Neighbors) SOUPrise SOUPrise SOUPrise!!
Cincy We have a football future :http://youtu.be/J6_1Pw1xm9U :) so let's embrace our boys potential, cause nobody predicted this!

WHO DEY IN 2012/2013!!!

Bengals Finally Beat A Winning Team (after the fact) oh..& Deservingly: "Back" into the Playoffs

2012-01-03T23:40:00.000-08:00

Bengals.com (Old Fat Rey Rey missing the future of the Who Deys ;)

The winning team they beat you ask? Why the Titans! By winning their last two games, the Houston Oil...err Tenn Titans(that was Earl Campbell old schoolish) ended 9-7 and thanks to losing to Cincy, Bengals win tiebreaker. While boringly losing to the Dirty birds in game 16 and watching Ray Rice slice up the jungle like a cat in our litte box, we backed in. But "Won Enough" And Were in! Yea...Oh sorry...YEA! We lost and we got in, not the strongest way to enter the postseason, where playoff intensity is diff than the reg season. My tweet of the power and mystery behind the magical fate ;)

CincyGy Steven S

“Tim Tebow's latest miracle: Sending My Bengals to playoffs”

and

CincyGy Steven S

"I read his lips while he was Tebowing: "Please Let us lose so Steves #Bengals can get in the Playoffs" I'm sold now! The power of Tebow ;)"

So I'm now over the dissapointment of losing to Ravens, not establishing that "signature win" that would be nice for Andy to hang his 10 gallon texas hat on. These boys deserve the playoffs for playing their hearts out all year, while a new O coordinator, (brother of Chuckie) was getting his OJT along with our exciting rooks. And you know who else deserves it? WE DO! Thats right Bengal nation, we put up with the Batman and Robin showboat, Palmer quitting, and general Bunglenes, setting up what we all thought would be a disaster season and our Boys gave us much more! So we will take it!

So everyone is picking Cincy over Texans, wish I was THAT confident, but I am....confident, that is and you know why:

Andy Dalton is 4-0 at Reliant Field from his TCU Days....and He's comin home: I like ;) Also, this is notyour 2009 Bungles who laid down v Jets in Final game losing what was already dissipating momentum, no your 2011 Bengals played hard till the last whistle!

And Finally, yours truly:

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS!!!??

1985, Miramar Naval Air Station, VF-51 BEQ, Toga party, (You know Im always repping the Nati ;)

WHO DEY? Tehas ?

And it comes down to this: Bmore at PBS, as WhoDeys "flip" Cards!

2011-12-25T15:47:00.000-08:00

bengals.com

Quick Thoughts:

- So I was off by one game, I said 11-5 (that included beating Ravens) the game I messed up on: Texans, had it won though didn't we? bit.ly/vcG9vZ

- If Playoffs started today, guess where we (6 seed) would play: 3 seed @Texans ;) Retribution? (hard to call a playoff win for this young team on the road but it would be fun ;)

- I hope Dalton doesn't get injured, you know Bmore is gonna send the farm

- Simpson's flip? sweet, just a taste of the excitment this team has brought us all year ;)

- Once again we beat a losing team, (9 times 9 wins) now as i said: bit.ly/tFmEFI we have one more chance to beat a winner, we will either carry the "Beat losers only label" (see Reds 2010) or head into the playoffs knowing we beat a quality Defense, thats right, Flacko Offense is the least of our worries (but the D must still play one of there best games of the year! Why? Their D definitely will play huge! Nugent be ready! This could easily be one of those 12-9 games.....

- Whatever Happens Cincy you've given us an amazing and surprising year, and I would be one of the 40K down at PBS watchin ya ( I don't blame anyone that has chosen not to spend money on a team that hasn't won a playoff game in 20 years) Win It! Win Anything and they will come!

- A Merry Bengal Xmas to all!

- WhoDey on into 2012 !

Gotta Be In IT, To Win IT, and guess whos back in IT WhoDeys ;)

2011-12-18T22:30:00.000-08:00

Bengals.com

Well here we go again, with the win over the Rams today, the National media is talking about Cincy playoff possibilities. Thats 8 times we we have played losing teams and we have won them all. At this rate, theres only one winning team remaining on our sked that can keep us from the Playoffs: Baltiomore! Final Game at PBS. If Jets and Cincy win out, its comes down to strength of sked. From Bengals.com:

» The Bengals and Jets are tied for that last AFC Wild Card spot at 8-6 overall and 6-5 in the AFC. But if they finish tied, ESPN.com says the Jets still hold the tiebreakers based on best winning percentage in common games. Plus, the Jets have a higher strength of victory percentage at .396-.304

Winning only against losers (the what if's loom large now: what if we had just fallen on the fumble v Texans, what if we could have sucked it up a few more minutes to beat the Steelers) is getting old, but it is what it is, and those W's are great stepping stones for the young squad. We have one more chance (at least) to overcome that sad status versus B'more.

Superstar: Green, as he breaks the 1000 yard mark with another 100 + game he is now 3 yards (or somethin like that) from #80, Collinsworth rookie yards record. Coincidently the long lanky one, recieved his bombs from another #14 one Kenny Anderson, nice karma for young Dalton ;)

Thoughts/Tweets during the game: (One thing that was itching me wrong were the fans frustration over Rams playing us tough in the first half, folks, we are a young team on the road, since when is this team so entitled to beat the Rams up? This team is still forming, we should barely be favored on the Road v anyone!)

O BTW Jets play Giants in Meadowlands (hmmmm) and @ Dolphins (double hmmmm) I like ;)

At The half: when the stat worst team in the NFL was beating us with chip shots 6-3:

Bengals.com

Previous Winning excitement has turned to reality that after playoff talk throughout the NFL, the Bengals playoffs hopes took a huge hit in the loss to the Texans. It wouldnt be that bad if we werent beat by some QB named:

1) Yancy Gates (oh sorry another "...ates" he was busy beating something else, rediculously enough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgbvdFW5qoQ) ....or....

2) Tony Yates, wait he was a UC player (Champ team 61/62) and Coach during MY, UC years (Metro Conference BBall We sucked!) ....or......

3) TJ Yates ??? yea thats its, wait, who? You know what, I dont care, not even looking it up, but it was huge for The Texans, From SI.com: " Yates led the biggest drive in Texans history on Sunday, one that put them in the end zone and the playoffs." My Post game tweet:

" @CincyGy Steven S Congrats #Texans Youve deserved this for quite sometime! Youv'e got your division, #Bengals I had no expectations So No Dissapointment: 2012!" ummm some sugar coating there......then....
" @CincyGy Steven S Losing 4/5 cant see #Bengals winning 2 go 10-6 so that may b it! Next?: #NHL baby! #CBJ #Canucks and the boys! #SpringTraining #Reds! CYA!"

Even an exciting mid-year run cant stimy the dissapointment brought on by the hype of a young Dalton Led Bengals. But its all good, cliche quote of the year: "Wait till next year." No cliche ever spoke more truth, this WhoDey squad promises hope, and Bengal fans, going into an offseason, thats better than most years. sigh...Low Expectations Cincy, Low Expectations, stay real, peace, out!

We Were Who I Thought We Were, and Its All Good Bengal Fans!

Nov 27:

"12/4 @ Pittsburgh 28-27 Steelers......hmmmm, I really wish that first loss 3 weeks ago would have been @Heinz, because we could say: paybacks! Well heres to saying the same, but at Pitt, for Rookie Dalton it may be too much: Steelers Win, but wait what if, just what if Bengals shock the world? and Go 8-4, well then You know what? Playoffs! But for now it will be: 7-5"

Theres really not much to comment on, the kids just were not ready fo primetime today. The only prob was the final score, 35/38-??? the game was no surprise to me, chalk another learning experience up for the young boys....onto next week, and the D getting their swagger back, and Andy and the O getting there grove back: Onward!

Texans will not be easy, they continue to win with a strong D no matter who the QB is. Rams in dome, new environment for Dalton, then home v Cards & Purple Birds, 1 week at a time Cincy!

WHO DEY? !! yes Pitt i Know WE DEY: this time! ;)

Sunday Night Football update:“@CincyGy: Coach Dungy on @SNFonNBC sais #Bengals have leg up on WC with three homegames: Texans/Ravens will be tough, But who am I 2 argue ;)”

Yawwwwn..oh sorry: Bengals Sweep Battle of Ohio II : Next ;)...not really, Relax Brownies ;)

So we beat Cleveland...my immediate reaction: Yawwwn. Thats what winning will do to a fanbase, when you beat someone your supposed to. But wait, any win in the NFL is huge right? Rich Eisen on the NFL Network said we "evaded disaster" by beating our northern Ohio rivals. So not only Bengal fans, but popular talking heads are now "expecting" Bengal wins over certain teams. Green shined as very few recievers can in the NFL right now, the Rookie will soon be giving Dalton and Cam a run for their R.O.Y. honors. Gresham was huge, Benson rushed for 100+ until late conservative play calling and tough Browns D line erased a few yards. It was as Eisen called it a
"hard fought" win for Cincy. But some are now becoming: expected. And since our expectations are now being realized lets analyze where we may be after 16 games, since Cincy continues to be mentioned in the Wild Card picture:

12/4 @ Pittsburgh 28-27 Steelers......hmmmm, I really wish that first loss 3 weeks ago would have been @Heinz, because we could say: paybacks! Well heres to saying the same, but at Pitt, for Rookie Dalton it may be too much: Steelers Win, but wait what if, just what if Bengals shock the world? and Go 8-4, well then You know what? Playoffs! But for now it will be: 7-5

12/11 Texans: To close to call but well go out on a limb, cause if we lose to Pitt we CANT lose at Home and if we beat Pitt then we will beat Texans, Dalton has biggest day yet, D plays huge: 34 - 17 Cincy: 8-5

12/15 @ Rams: Cincy 28 - 17 why? expectations: 9-5

12/22 Cardinals: Cincy 21 - 10 why? ditto above, with the final two games at home, this should propel Cincy to two strong home games: 10-5

1/1: Ravens: here it is the season finally, possibly Daltons most important game, this result could get Cincy in the playoffs Cincy has it retribution and beats Bmore at home: 21-20, 11-5

The problem is this is to good to be true, the Texans and @ Rams could definitely go differently, thats would be a swing of two games to 9-7, either way that may be good enough but theres 3 teams within 1 game of Cincy who If season ended today after 3/4 of the season. That's right Bengals fans I said: Playoffs!

Ok, enough dreaming, its not even Xmas and there aint no sugar plum fairies dancing in my head or playoff thoughts: Its too early for all that, but its not to early to stop BEING CONSERVATIVE ! Jay Gruden we aint complaining, just wondering, 1st and goal, 3 Benson runs to play it safe, what if Nugent ganks it? Why not a simple play action pass on third down instead of the I formation? With the confidence of Dalton at an all time rookie high ;) wouldn't it have been nice to see an attempt at 6? Is the rook ready? I would say so, look at champs (Brady/Peyton) they go for the jugular, and if the pass wasn't there, Andys smart enough (sais his wunderlick of 29, QB average is 24: http://www.holyturf.com/2011/03/wonderlic-test-scores-from-the-2011-nfl-combine/) to throw it out of the back of the end zone. My point is, Cincy for years has been conservative, there will come a time when a surprise, using the strength of our QB may payoff: Just sayin ;)

Finally the Bengals pointing gesture at the name on back of jersey, Greene coined it and now Gresham was emulating it. Here's Green using both thumbs to bring attention to who made the play in case you didn't know it ;) :

Bengals.com

Heres AJ Green again , forcing the Browns to read his number, no pointing required:

Bengals.com

And as long as he's doing that, well look the other way when he's reminding us who just made an incredible play.

Being old school I prefer the team concept over bringing attention to the name on the back of the jersey (we had a receiver that did that for 10 years, even changing his family name to an inaccurate Spanish translation for his number. Eighty Five is: Ochenta y Cinco but thats Ok Chad, I'm from Cincy and growing up in Clifton while in college at UC after late nights drinking away Bengals losses and sometime victories, we thought Del Taco was authentic Mexican also ;) I digress: Gresham also after this incredible catch and TD:

Bengals.com

Immediately afterwards Gresham did the same gesture making sure we knew who made the play. To this Bengal fan all that matters is that it was a Bengals with stripes on his uniform that made the play, not the name of the player. We know we have great receivers in Greens and Gresham, and there something to be said for winning with humility.

"Give me a man one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory. ~ Douglas MacArthur

I know that would be impossible to expect from all of today's players, so I really don't, but when you see a player hand the ball to the ref, and hustle to embrace his players, O what a difference. We love ya Green and Gresh. Winning as a team is the ultimate prize and that, I hope, is the players goal!!

Press on Who Deys!!!

Thanks(for)Giving us a Rejuvinated NFL Season Cincy Bengals

This season and its results have come out of no-where and we are fortunate. I am thankful for such a quick resurgence into slight NFL respectability in the post: Palmer-Chad Era. Notice I didn't mention TO, he didn't add much, but did cause a "better getcha popcorn" false bravado that never quite "popped".

I suffered no disappointment in Cincy's loss to either Pitt or Bmore, even though our rising young talent is starting to tease us with their capabilities and possibly dare I say: Wild Card Chances???? I have/had no expectations for post season, which is why I guess I had no disappointment in loosing to the #2 and #3 defenses in the NFL. We were "in" both games, and just missed upsetting the Ravens with the help of a blown call, that was a TD by Dalton to Gresham. You be the Judge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYxkeJNNSkw ,
AND even with that, I wasn't the slight bit disappointed: Why? THE POSSIBLE FUTURES OF ANDY DALTON AND THIS SQUAD!!!

Some might say: WIN NOW! Thats always my motto, but when I see the rookie drive THIS team on THOSE teams down the field time after time, It makes me giddy! Should/Could we ever have Super Bowl type expectations from this rookie? Well, no other rookie has done it, so lets chill out on the over hyped expectations, you know who you are: the always disgruntled Bengal Fans, that were whining about blown calls after the loss to the ravens..Yes it would be great for this Cincy rook to "win now", but lets be realistic: none of this was expected, and what do we have? A young explosive defense with Peko and Rey Rey, an O line that has members talked about as maybe the best in the league: Thank you Mr Whitworth, and even our hyped, oft-injured top pick from 'Bama is starting to pay off, isn't that right Mr Smith? And were glad your keeping your shirt on when the red light goes off, uggg.... just in case you forgot and you'd like some man-jiggle image to help that Turkey digest:

Cortesy ESPN

Andre, do us all a favor, when ya hit the beach, hook up a XXXXL singlet or something, savi? Enough makin fun the young man whlo is playin and playin well....thats why we signed him, with the Moobs, afterall the SEC dominator is one reason why Mr Dalton is excelling!

And if you need a few more reasons not to be disgruntle by two losses in a row, Dalton and squad is doing all this with NO full preseason and the last two weeks, and NO AJ Green (O, and BTW a Bengals TGiving Update @ http://bit.ly/rYFJfl GREEN IS A GO ! in Buckeye battle II)

Oh and the Tgiving nightcap 49'ers at Ravens Twitter comment:
" @CincyGy Steven S If that's the best the NFC has to offer I'm not impressed, Rookie Dalton carved up the Bmore Defense last week, Alex Smith is overwhelmed #WHODEY!

That's why this Bengal loyalist is happy and thankful for what has been served to us so far on TGiving 2011

WHO DEY ON!
