Here comes the high-tech 21st century "digital pot" plant that comes with LCD (liquid crystal display) design by Junyi Heo. Various icons that can appear on the screen of the pot with corresponding meanings, from "normal" and "dissatisfied", to "more water" and "danger". The system works by measuring the soil conditions, temperature, humidity, and water in the pot and calculating the variables to express the plant's condition in facial symbols. Plants can suffer from over watering, so the pot also automatically drain excess water. It has a USB connection and cable connected to your computer to recharge and to receive information about your plant. It's an ideal gift for those who want their appartment or office a greener look and at the same time a pet plant.

I strongly believe that there is God. In my daily life, I looked up to Him, thanked and prayed for the everyday blessings I received. Even how I'm feeling down, still, I have this positive outlook in life. I know, God have His own plans for me, and ways and means to face the reality. We cannot deny the fact that sometimes we questioned His capabilities but He let us know the reasons of everything and He wants us to learn from it. If I had this feeling of doubts, worries, problems and etc., I am sure God always there beside me, never giving up His helping hand and always ready to catch me when I fall.

lost of the family

It's so sad to know that you lost another family members. My husband's aunt died early this morning. Unexpected news for us and we find it hard to accept the reality especially that she's the only sister of my mother in law but we cannot hold life the way we want us to be. Maybe God decided to take her life to rest and not to suffer more pain, which she was experienced. Not long ago, her daughter died of illness at a young age. Because of what happened she couldn't accept that her daughter lost and it makes her feel stress and depress. She confined to the hospital and found out she had a high blood pressure and resulting her to vomit and had a blood clot inside her head. That's why aunt paralyzed and she ate food through a tube inside her mouth. It's so painful to see her like that. But now she's gone and I know she will never feel pain anymore. She's with her daughter right now and I know how happy they were with God. For the people who loved her like us, we pray that her souls may rest in peace and grant her an eternal happiness. We never forget her. I know she's not with us physically but she's always live with us in our hearts.

first communion

Early this morning, one of my nephew and niece we're very excited for their first communion. They all wearing white and they all look like angels. Before the holy mass began, they took a confession. They wrote down all there sins in a sheet of paper for them to remember. As I stared them how they giggled and excited to part take the Holy Body of Christ (holy host), I remembered myself the first time I had a communion. It's the feeling of mixed emotions. I had a thought that at last, I can take a holy communion next in line with my mother and not be with her, watching beside her. After the holy mass, they received a certification of communion. How happy they were and they kept on talking how they feel on the way home. It's good to remember our first time experience like when we're much younger before.

With the help of my sister in law, I just sign up a membership of the bloggers who wants to earn cash. I'm so excited about it and can't wait of course to earn cash. Since I'm not familiarize about some words/thing in blogging, my sister in law is very much patient with me to explain everything and I try to learn it and to study at the same time. Before, I just post a blog and happy to see more visitors who visit my blog but there is more exciting; you can earn cash out of your blog. I hope more advertisers interested with my blog and more positive and valuable feedbacks from you. What I'm thinking right now is the amount of how much I can earn. Sounds bad but who doesn't want to have cash! For me, it doesn't matter how you have it as long as you earn it in a healthy way, I mean in a good way. As long as your honest to your self and be sensitive to others.

For two weeks of waiting, at last we have now an Internet connection. My hunny (husband) and I won't have a hard time going to the Internet cafe just to update our blogs or checking email messages. We're not that good in computer but we know the basic. For now, we try to discover and to explore how to have a personal layout with our blogs. We're amaze to see other blog with their personal touch of their layout. My sister in law (Vien) will help us how and can't wait to have it like them with ours. Since we have only one personal computer (Sam and Vien gave it to us), my hunny and I will have a fight of who will use the computer first. But now, we both agreed that I would be using it the whole day and he'll be at night time after his work. Don't you think I have a long time of using the computer than him?

Internet connection

I was so glad to receive the desktop computer that my sister in law gave a few weeks ago. I was so excited and happy that it finally got delivered by LBC. But I can't really use it because there's no internet connection yet. I mean I can use it for listening to music or playing games, etc. I guess, computer is not so useful without any Internet connection. Anyhow, my husband had to buy AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) to regulate the voltage power for the computer. Our voltage power here in the Philippines is 220 volts. And now, we are waiting for Smart Bro to install Internet connection for our computer. I could hardly wait so I could start surfing the net. My husband followed up Smart Telecommunications and they said they are going to visit our area for installation this Thursday. I hope it will get done this week. It is quite agonizing (quite frankly) since it has been 2 weeks from the day we applied for the internet connection. Their reason was our area is far from the city. Yeah right! Anyhow, I hope they will do what they promised to us, otherwise, I will complain again.

Facing Life

Because of the global crises that we’re experiencing today, people tend to do things which they think is the right way to overcome poverty. Some work 24/7 and some leave it to God and wait a miracle to happen. One time, I walked by at the lotto outlet and found out the jackpot price is more than 200 million pesos. Lots of people fall in line and try their luck to win the jackpot. I was encouraged to be in the line and try my luck. Who knows I’m the one who win the millions. And if it will happen, I have all the list of were my cash flows. Even how big the lotto jackpot is, we can not stop the reality of how we deal the poverty. Fortunate for those who are in business and still existing and how impressive for those who will not stop to face and not to be afraid of all the challenges that they encounter. I also questioned myself how can I be of great help to my husband financially? I do have a little business but I don’t think it’s enough for us now that we’re having a baby soon. I can not depend of waiting to win the lotto but I have to do something to be more valuable. I know someday, God will provide and everything will fall into place at the right time. I just hold on my faith to Him and trust and believe myself I can be of the best I can.

I’ve just read a book of Fr. Glenn Paul M. Gomez, SVD, entitled Enjoy Life!...in the right sense. In his book, it makes me know that life is great even how painful we have experienced and how badly we have to face at this moment. It inspires me to do more and for not giving up and losing hope for all the challenges that we encounter. It also tells me that I have the right to be happy no matter how big is the problem that may be. And I treasure what I have right now and embrace it with complete joy and contentment.

As what Fr. Glenn said; “they have tickled my bones, touched my heart and pierced my being”, that’s what I felt also when I read his book. I hope you’ll find a copy in the bookstore and happy reading...

Truly, laughter and prayer are still the best medicine.

Happy New Year everyone! According to Chinese Astrology, year 2009 is the Year of the Ox. Do you believe in Chinese Zodiac. If you’d ask me, I don’t necessarily believe in it. I remember one time somebody asked me if I believe in it, and I answered with confidence “No, it depends on how you live your life”. Don’t get me wrong for those who believe in it. Christmas Tree

Merry Christmas! We don’t have Christmas tree this year because we are renovating our place ut it’s alright. I don’t feel the Christmas spirit yet. Maybe, I would tomorrow.

By the way, let’s talk about the story of the Christmas tree. Christmas Tree started by Martin Luther. He enhanced the tradition of Christmas tree in Protestant countries. Martin Luther first added lighted candles to a tree. He was walking toward his home one winter evening, composing a sermon, he was impressed by the brilliance of stars twinkling amidst evergreens. To recapture the scene for his family, he put up a tree in the main room and wired its branches with lighted candles.

Breaking the spending habit

Christmas is just two weeks away from now. I'm not really excited about it yet. It's because I am not ready for the holiday shopping. I don't know why I always shop at the last minute. Perhaps, I found it more thrilling. But really, its a bad idea. People thought that shopping on December is a great time. I believe it's wrong. Many retail stores have some a "facade" price just to show how much shoppers could save on holidays. It's just a marketing strategy when in fact, the hidden real price is the discounted price. Would you agree with me? I know I am one of the victims - we are victims. I want to change this holiday shopping habit. However, I can't blame shoppers would shop at the last minute because they are waiting for their Christmas bonus and 13th month pay. I was like that before. And when I shop, it is like a shopping spree with a thought that I have a lot of money. I have to break this habit. If I want to shop for the holidays, I should save money from the start instead of waiting for my bonus. Think about it, what if you lose your job before holidays come? What should you do? Of course, you have no choice, right? Giving gifts on Christmas is not an obligation anyway. But this is just an analogy. We, as consumers should not spend more than we need and have to. We have to change this custom because it makes us broke and gives us stress after holidays.

buy a domain or not?

I was thinking of getting a domain for this blog- it is much safer than staying in a free subdomain like Blogger because they have the rights to delete your blog for any reasons. I'd like to buy a domain at GoDaddy or at 1and1.com, which offers free privacy. GoDaddy.com doesn't offer Free Privacy - you have to pay extra which is $10. Privacy is important when you have a domain to protect your personal info like your name, telephone no., email address, mailing address, etc. I still have to save up for this investment (should I say lol). It's just $10. But $10 is $10. And plus, I am not using US dollars here in the Philippines. Hopefully, next month I'd be able to.

My Blog Layout

I am not really sure if I want to stick to this layout. I would prefer to use e a three-column layout for this blog so I can put more widget and advertising banners. Well, I have to search the net for more Blogger layouts or maybe I will customize or edit this layout more. I am confused right now. Actually, I customized the layout here. Originally this is "Stretch Denim". I modified the header, header's font, and the colors. That's the nice thing about Blogger, I can play with the fonts and colors. Nothing much today, I will keep this blog updated as often as I can.

I noticed today that my Alexa rank is 8,xxx,xxx. It was around 13,xxx,xxx yesterday. I was happy to see it went down that means it is getting better. Let me explain Alexa rank to you. What is Alexa?

Alexa is a database of information about sites that includes statistics, related links and more. It gives traffic information for blog and websites. A good Alexa rank is great for monetizing a blog or a web site. There are many advertisers that would prefer to advertise in a better Alexa ranking blog or web site. It will definitely increase the value of your blog when it comes to ad pricing.That's the importance of Alexa. I am hoping that my Alexa figures will go down more and more.

Why does it have to lower in digits or numbers?

The lower in digits, the better. Like for example, yesterday my Alexa was 13 million and now, it went down to 8 million. As of now, I can't really explain why Alexa rank sites this way. You may install Alexa toolbar - this is a great way to increase Alexa rank. I preferred not to install Alexa toolbar in my browser because it slows down when I browse on the net. I did it before but I uninstalled it.
Invite others or friends to read and visit your site every day.

All Saints Day and All Souls Day

Treat or tricking? Here the Philippines we don't really observe and practice trick or treating. Some kids do but not really in my community. Most families prepare for the next day. "All Saint's Day" and "All Soul's Day" are one of the big holidays in the Philippines. People would go to the cemetery to visit the graves of their departed loved ones. Most people stay and spend overnight at the cemetery. And some people are going to have a small party which I thought it is really ridiculous. Tomorrow, the cemetery is going to be packed. That's how it goes in the Philippines on "All Saints Day" and "All Soul's Day".

Happy Halloween everyone! Are you going to have a party? I am not going anywhere, in fact, my family is going to prepare for tomorrow which is "All Saints Day" November 1st. In Catholic, it is traditional for us to visit the grave of our departed loved ones. So, tomorrow, we are going to visit the grave of my grandparents. We are going to bring some flowers and candles and say prayers for them.

I just recently put Google Adsense here. I picked the 728X15 Horizontal row style. It is more neat but I might change it eventually though. By the way, what is Google Adsense? According to Google's definition:

Because the ads are related to what your users are looking for on your site, you'll finally have a way to both monetize and enhance your content pages."

Yes, I can monetize from Google Adsense. Some visitors may click the Google ads and from that I'll earn money. It is a "Pay-per-click". Once I reached the total of $100, Google will send you me a payment at the end of the next month. Since this is cost-per-1000-impressions, that means per click, it's worth 10 cents. It's not much, but who knows one of my visitors might click on the Google ads and it will accumulate into 1000 clicks then I'll get $100. It's like earning money that I didn't work hard on. In other words, it is easy money.

You see my Alexa rank on right below, it is 15 million something. I am glad about it. You know why? I am hoping it's going to go down more. The more it goes down, the better rank I'll have. That how it goes with Alexa. And I am also hoping my Technorati rank will go better. It still zero as in zero. And hopefully, I will get a better Google Page Rank in one of these days.

I need to submit this site to Google so it will be cached. Let's see if I already did it. I don't remember. I am back. I just checked it if I already submitted this site to Google sitemap. I was glad that this blog is cached by Google. And I also just submitted this blog to Google so it will be indexed. Again, when you have a new blog, it is important that you submit your blog or site to Google for cache and index to have a better traffic and page rank someday.

When you have a new a blog. I learned that you should submit your new blog or site to search directories or engines. Notice on the right side, I put Alexa widget. Alexa widget is a great tool to know if I get more links and high traffic. What I have right now is just 9. All sites start at a rank of 9.
