    How will you be spending halloween? We will be at home handing out candy to this kids. Well, more likely I will hand out candy to the kids and the dogs will be upstairs with their dad. All three are not very fond of kids. Perhaps I will make Patrick participate. We’ll see. Either way, the boys will be dressed in their Halloween best!

    Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends and Columbus day to the American ones  (even if it is 11pm… it still counts, right?) . Did anyone do anything fun for the holidays?  I had to work so the dogs only had a normal day.  Poor them.

     The fall holidays are accompanied by some much needed rain here in Southern California.  Most people here hate the rain, but I love it.  It must be my Canadian roots.  Plus, the rain makes the mountains green and that is awesome.

Either way, no luck. On Monday I broke down and ordered one. It was only $7 and I received it today! Can’t getmuch better than that. Nothing much to report here, so I’m just going to post come pictures because it has been a while! Hopefully everyone is doing well!

    We went to the local dog park for the first time today.  Against my inner voice I brought Jack along too.  He was SO GOOD.  He wasn’t mean, he didn’t park or growl at people or dogs.  He didn’t try to scare the children that came after him, and best of all he seemed to have some fun.  Patrick as always was super loving everything and everyone. He even had a love affair through the fence with a pitbull (I think?).

    The park was great.  They have a small dog section and a big dog section.  For the first time ever all the small dogs were actually small and pretty docile.  The crazier dogs were all in the “all dog” section.  There was a grassy area, a dirt area and a shady area. The are pooper scoopers and a water spot for people and dogs. 

    I was so happy with Jack!  Hopefully we will be making it back often!  Also I hope to ofind my camera cord!

    Jack did OK with the little girl, but she did not do well with dogs. So I just kept them locked up with the by every morning. Patrick would come up to her to kiss her and she would yell at him and insisted he was scratching her. He was a very good boy – so I just kept him away. Jack didn’t get that close, but he also didn’t really protest so I was happy.

    The plants we potted are all dead. I am a HORRIBLE plant keeper. Does anyone have some good plant suggestions that are easy keepers and not poisonous to dogs?

    Aside from that we didn’t really do a lot this summer. Relaxing and Chillaxing. Maybe now that my work schedule is winding down we will do some fun stuff. How was everyone’s summer?

    This week was a bit crazy! We had two little girls stay over for 3 nights. Patrick was awesome as usual. Jack was only a little bad. I honestly expected a lot worse. The little girl that comes in the morning is proving to be more difficult. She doesn’t like dogs so it is hard to get the comfortable around her if she is nervous around them. Again, Patrick is doing pretty good but at this point I’m just putting Jack in bed with his dad. I’d rather no interaction then bad ones!

    Today we went outside to pot some plants. The dogs of course were “helping”.

He throws them, and hits them, and really just sticks with them. Tonight while I was searching for the treat pouch I pulled out this oldie-but-goodie. 

    I filled it with some left over boiled chicken from dinner and he was off!  Here is the video Petra asked for ages ago. He is still going at it almost an hour later.

One of things I grabbed was a treat tug toy. You put treats in it and the dogs play with it to make treats fall out. At first Jack was very interested.

    Patrick took over. He is always much more diligent with food toys than Jack.

    It still remains to be seen whether this will be a favourite toy or not. Jack still loves his tug-a-bloom best and Patrick fetches his ball. The treat jug doesn’t seem to be as interesting as a normal kong. We shall see.
