Hey guys, I hope your day is going great so far! Today we are talking trend, in this case, apó also known as raffia, straw or wicker. These bags are everywhere on Instagram making them highly trendy. This trend has really been on for two years and I am just jumping on them, it's really not late to jump on them if you have not copped one yet feel free to hop on the trend causes it seems they are not going anywhere anytime soon. They scream summer, it just has a way of reminding me of the beach, it can easily be transitioned from the beach to street. Are you loving the trend? Surely I am.

They are so versatile, they can be worn with any outfit; styled with a tee and jeans or a maxi dress, anything would work. Its neutral texture makes it easy to wear it with anything screaming summer. They are also a statement piece because people really be looking anytime I rock it. I had one of my friends ask me if I wanted to use it to fetch water lol.

I am just here to tell you that this bag is a summer staple. Apart from the bag having summer all over it, it also gives off a retro vibe. Since I got it, I have literally carried everywhere.

Road trip to Osun

Happy new month beautiful people, hope your day has been great so far! So I took a road trip to Osun state and I am here to tell you all about it. It was an official trip turned excursion. So basically I told my bosses that I want to do more of site engineering than structural engineering and they were like cool, we going to Osun the next day.

My journey started around 8am, stopped somewhere in Ibadan for a meal, I was expecting the meal to be half the price because people say Ibadan is the cheaper version of Lagos apparently they were lying. By 12 noon I got to Ile-Ife (OAU) for a quick meeting, then I thought to myself I have a secondary school friend that goes to the university so I decided to text her, lo and behold she was around, she was actually heading for a lecture but she cancelled to come to see me because I was supposed to be leaving for a site visit in 30 minutes, we got carried away with our gist that we walked far away, before I got back to the car pack my Project manger already left me. I decided to use that time to tour OAU and damn that uni is big! By the time I was done with my tour my PM was back to pick me up, then we headed to Ilesha where the real work was at. All I did was measure plots of lands and figure out if the lands were feasible for construction, easy right? Yeah, I know! So that's what I travelled the distance for.

I enjoyed my trip, Osun is beautiful, I loved the scenery, it has a lot of geographic aesthetics and details.

On my way back home, the stars were following me, I named one of it phebz. I lost it by the time I got to Ibadan, I hope to see it again.

Book Review || The Exit by Helen Fitzgerald

Hey guys, here is another book review.

The story is told in three folds, Catherine 23 and Rose 82 and 10. Rose suffers from dementia so she goes back to when she was 10 every once in a while. The book gets a little confusing because it switches from all three folds.

Catherine was a young 23 lady and her mum thought she did not have any direction, and her mum is a control freak got her a job at a care home and she accepted it reluctantly. Rose is a successful children author and she lived in the care home where she figured out creepy things were going on in the care home, room 7 to be precise but anytime she spoke up no one believed her because she had dementia.

Catherine starts to investigate the sinister occurrence going on according to Rose just because her mum moved into the care home, she was ill, she had a deadly illness.

The end of this book was so creepy, you should read it if you love dark stories but if you get irritated easily skip the last chapter.

Rose was right all along room 7 indeed held a dark secret.

I enjoyed this book, I need to get myself some more of Helen Fitzgerald’s book.

A day at Illashe Private Beach

Hey TPJays! What’s good? It’s been a minute. I am sharing an experience today. I finally crossed something out of my list (I have a list of places in Lagos I want to visit) Illashe private beach happened to be one of them.

It was a link up with one of my friend we had not seen in a long while so he planned like a mini getaway with a couple of his other friends, we were like 12 which made the whole trip inexpensive. We all linked up at the pavilion, chilling and chatting whilst we were waiting to be complete. When everyone got there, we got a boat from the pavilion to illashe which was approximately a 30 minutes ride. The view was so beautiful. On getting to illashe it was so quite, I felt we were the only ones on the beach but apparently not cause when we were heading home I spotted an extra group of three.

On getting to our space, it was okay, I mean that was what we could afford. It had a swimming pool, a volleyball court and the beach was in front. I love the beach, the sand, the ocean, I am a beach person so that was like the perfect destination for me to unwind and escape reality. For someone that can’t swim my love for the pool and the ocean was a little risky but I really could not just sit whilst people were having fun in the pool, so trust me I dived in. The pool was not all that deep so I was fine and I had people watching out for me and literally teaching me how to swim, how to avoid drowning and all (now I think I have forgotten everything I learnt). Oh yeah, I went into the ocean and trust me to go deep into it playing with the waves and all it was so much fun.

The only thing that went wrong was food, they were not selling food the day we went so it is advisable to go along with food or snacks at least.

I would love to go to Illashe again because I had so much fun and I would recommend it to anyone that needs a getaway.

Only for me to get home and reality dawned on me sigh.

I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures, I was living in the moment. Have you been there? What was your experience like?

Anti Boys or Nah??

Hey guys, today we are doing something entirely different, this should be fun. I thought it would be interesting talking about boys and relationships on the blog. I am not anti boys I love them so much that's probably why I get so stressed when anything about them comes up.

Warning: Lengthy so grab something to snack on!!!

Okay let's first start with relationships; I have a few questions for people in relationships; are you both compatible? What attracts you to your partner? Is it the opposite attraction or birds of the same feather? For me it's majorly our similarity but we'd definitely have our differences too and that's fine. I would like to classify the thing that make or break relationships into 2p's and 2v's which are; personalities, principles, values and vision. In my opinion you should talk about all four before getting into a relationship so y'll know what you are in for.

Personalities: These are your characteristics and what makes you you. Your personalities most definitely affects your relationship but it is up to you both to get the positive side of it or the negative side. Your personalities determine the quality of your relationship. Most times couples have different personalities and that's okay because some difference strengthens and spices the relationship. Variety is needed sometimes.

Principles: This can be simplified to your beliefs. For me it is important we have similar principles and beliefs. For example i won't be in a relationship with someone that does not believe in God that's a no no.

Values: This is basically standards of behaviors, it includes your ethics, morals e.t.c. In order words the things you rate highly are your values. Your values determine how you view life in general. In my opinion couples values should be somewhat similar. Being clear about your values and what you stand for is really important when you are in a relationship. If you and your partner view life differently, clashes are bound to happen.

Vision: This is the ability to think about or plan your future. You'd not see me with someone with zero vision. When it comes to vision we have to be on the same page, there are no two ways to this one. If you guys do not have similar vision just keep in mind that your relationship has an expiration date.

Relationships are not meant to be stressful so if it is stressing you its is not right.

Now let's move to boys.

If he stresses you cut him off.
If he makes you double guess yourself drop him.
If he just wants to benefit from your goodness but does not want to put in any effort tell him boy bye.

It is easy to cut him off when no feelings are attached, that's why it is wise not to catch feelings immediately because it is usually a trap. Yeah I know it is not easy but you can do it. You don't need no stress but peace of mind.

Guys that do not respect you are going to keep disrespecting you if you don't shut it down as soon as you notice it. You notice he is disrespecting you tell him before you make a decision, if he does not changing just walk away. Talk it out because in actual sense you need to show people how to treat you meaning if you are being treated in a way you do not like you accepted it from the onset.

It's 2018 and we are all adults so we can all come to the conclusion that boys just want to hit most of the time. And there is no problem with that in all honesty because there are girls that just want to hit too. But some boys need to watch how desperate they act when they want to hit because sometimes it comes across as rape culture. I won't shake this table today. As for me if all you want is to hit and that's all you have to offer then you and I don't have any business being in a relationship be it 'friends with benefit', 'situation-ship' whatever you want to call it.

We women are too caring we need to stop caring for men way too much especially if they do not give back the same energy. I might be wrong but all men do is take! They take everything from you leaving you drained physically, mentally, financially, emotionally and all the lly you can think of but they never give back and that's sad. Funny thing is you do not realize they are draining you until you walk away. They just take advantage of your caring nature, i am not you mum boy. They always take advantage of everything.

I am sorry not sorry I am putting myself first, my happiness first, my peace of mind first, my everything first. I deserve all the love and care I dish out.

This one is for girls that have been single for so long sometimes you feel you have been alone for a long time and you just allow the next Tom, Dick or Harry into your life. That's a wrong move sis. No matter how long you have been single ensure to wait for someone that'd treat you right, the wait would be worth it.

At this point i think it is safe for me to say men should leave me alone I am tired. So are you anti-boys or nah? What is your take on boys and relationships? Drop a comment let's have a conversation.

Book Review || Dating Game

Hey guys, so here is another book review and I hope you like this one. This book is relatable and the book was easy to read.

So in this woman's mind she had the perfect marriage, with the perfect husband and two beautiful grown up children. Until the day her husband decided to come out, he told her he was seeing someone after 24 years of marriage. He was willing to throw everything they had in 24 years because he met someone younger can you imagine? That news was really hard for Paris to take in.

Paris was my favorite character can't really tell why maybe it's because she was the center of the book. Life came at her so fast, even though she did not know how to handle all the hurt initially, but her hurt turned to happiness at the end. She handled the situation the way i'd have handled it i think.

My favorite part was when she finally made up her mind to adopt a baby, she did that for herself not caring about what other people thought. You can learn a lesson from that move, do what makes you happy regardless of other peoples opinions.

I love that Danielle Steel portrayed that you can always find better when your relationship does not work with one person. There is always better out there.

For the title I was expecting it to come from a male's angle, him being the player but it was about a woman trying the dating process all over again and it was really difficult for her because she married the first person she dated and now they were over. It was a game for her because she did not know if she was going to lose or win reason being she thought she was too old to date again. Paris tried different men, she gave them chances even though her boss turned friend turned family (Bix) forced her most of the time. Bix and his partner were one of the people that made Paris feel at home when she newly moved in. It just showed that some times we need certain peoples friendship to get through certain situations. They were her support systems so to say.

If i could add anything to the book i'd add that Peter's new wife left him for someone else, it would have been messy but just so that people understand that you lose them how you get them.

Depression & Anxiety || Raduno Africa

Hey TPJays, so I am partnering with Raduno Africa on this one and we are fighting depression and anxiety together, you are not alone.

There is a big chance that you know someone suffering from depression or anxiety, it could even be you. Do not think you can't be depressed because you are black or African - male or female. That's a scam anyone can be depressed. Once you notice any significant sign see a doctor or speak to a loved one.

In my opinion, both depression and anxiety come from the same place which is sadness. It is okay to be sad, it's healthy but do not dwell on the things that make you sad always remember to snap out of sadness by doing the things that make you happy. In fact treat yourself to something you have always wanted just to calm your nerves. You deserve it. "Happiness does not depend upon who you are. It solely depends on what you think" - Dale Carnegie.

Do not wallow in negativity, it builds up to depression. "Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results" - Willie Nelson.

I can't really pinpoint what causes depression but here are some of the things that leads to depression; life events (the loss of a loved one, divorce, relationships, financial problems e.t.c.), personality traits (an over-thinker has a higher chance of getting depressed, a perfectionist too), drug abuse.

We all need to take our mental health seriously and learn to cut everything that tries to come for our mental health.

Preventions;

Constantly get out of depressed moods such as feeling sad, empty, hopeless.
Cut yourself some slack and stop pressurizing yourself.
Be active.
Don't isolate yourself (I know sometimes isolation seems to be the perfect coping mechanism but know when to be out and about and when to be in).
Don't punish yourself for being a bad place instead do things to cheer you up.

In conclusion, when sadness is greater than happiness it tilts towards depression and anxiety, strive to be happy all the time and remember your happiness comes first.

In order to fight depression and anxiety we need to come together, so you all really need to come out for this event. Save the date, hope to see you there.

How to: Take care of your skin in a tropic region

Hey TPJays! What’s good? It’s been a minute. Please just ignore my inconsistency, bare with me. It has been a while we have discussed beauty so I have decided to share tips and products I use to take care of my skin in a tropical region.

I recently learned that it is not good to use bar soap on your face because they are harsh on the face and can strip the natural hydrators from the skin which can leave your skin inflamed and red from broken blood vessels. instead of bar soaps use gentle facial scrubs or facial wash.

Fresh look: I use this facial wash, it’s for my dad but he does not use it so I use it now and it’s really good. Who told men they do not need skincare routines? Anyways I use this to exfoliate my skin, it deep cleanses my face leaving it smooth. I use this in the morning when taking a shower instead of a bar soap.

Body shop face wash: I use this at night when I am washing off my makeup, i obviously use face wipes first. This foam wash helps to brighten the face and it also helps to keep your true complexion. It is really soapy so I advise you use a little portion which makes it long lasting.

Day cream: I use this in the morning after having a shower for a healthy looking skin. It also helps to keep your true complexion.

Serum: This is used at night and it does the same thing as the day cream.

Face mask powder: This leaves my skin feeling refreshed and restored. It is vegan-friendly. I use it once a week.

Sun-screen: I strongly advise that if you live in a sunny region like Lagos never step out without applying sunscreen. I feel like a majority of us sleep on the importance of sunscreen. Sunscreen helps to shield us from UVB rays that can cause sunburns and UVA rays that can cause deeper skin damage. It is advised to apply 30 minutes before being exposed to the sun. Reapplying is as important, if you going to be in the sun for a long time, reapply every hour.

Soothing after sun: Just because i am extra like that, I apply this after being in the sun to cool, moisturize and soothe my skin. It keeps my skin smooth too.

Always have a pair of sunglasses in your bag as well they help to prevent harmful emission from the sun. So that’s it for today I hope you have learned one or two things? And if you have any tip to help take care of our skin share in the comment box.

I GOT DUPED BY BARE WHITE PEOPLE

Happy new week TPJays. Today is story time and I am going back in time to five months ago when I saw the opportunity to follow my dreams (modelling).

I can’t remember how I stumbled on this ad but I saw a modelling ad and they were like email us a picture and I sent a picture from here. They got back to me saying that their manager loved everything about the picture and I have been shortlisted I was so gassed, in my head, I was like baby girl is finally going to be a model and all. So they sent me an SMS of the details of the office and stuff I need to bring along like 5 different outfits, a clean hair, no make up face and all. While reading the SMS I was like yes this is it, I am about to make it. They called me to book a slot for my appointment, before the call ended the guy mentioned I had to pay a deposit, at this point my normal self would have hung up but the other part of me was like you need to invest in your dreams before you blow, so BOOM I brought out my card and paid for the deposit.

Before the day of the shoot I had already checked out the company on Instagram and I was not impressed, this should have been a red flag but I really wanted to be a model I wanted it to be true so I let that go.

I skipped something, during the call they told me they had modelling plans like I would have to pay for soft copies and all in my head I was like I was going to skip that because I really did not need the soft copy, I just want to be a model.

Few days before the shoot I was having a second thought but I was told that I would have to come into the studio to get my deposit back so I was like okay let me just go to get my money back.

It was the d-day I had packed my suitcase because I had to travel from London-Coventry and I was told to bring some outfits so I took them along too just in case.

I got to their office right on time, okay let’s pause right here, so in my head, I imagined the studio was looking nice and shit like a modelling studio you would see in an American movie. I was disappointed when I saw the studio (this was another red flag but I carried on still).

So they started my makeup and bruh the makeup was shit and I went on to snapchat to rant about how a white woman did my makeup and it was shit. I really could have beat my face better and I am not the best at makeup sigh. At this time I should have packed my baggage and left but man wanted to be a model so I stayed. The photo shoot started and it was the worst!

After the shoot, I was told to they were reviewing my pictures, that I should go grab some lunch and by the time I am back they would have a feedback for me.

I went to McDonald's for lunch but I did not want to eat because I was watching my weight I mean models do not have a big stomach and I was also anxious about the feedback so I just had a smoothie.

So I got back to the studio and I met with the manager and she told me I was top 2, do you guys know how I felt? Like my childhood dream was finally becoming a reality and in my head, I was like I am top 2 but I am not 2 lol.

She went on to say I needed to pick a package so that they would be able to promote me to brands, this involved more money and i was getting uncomfortable because I really did not have much so I asked her if I could pay when I get more money and she was like once I leave its all gone (this was another time for me to carry my bag and be going but I stayed damn!) could not let the opportunity pass me by. So I chose the basic package because I could afford that if I emptied all my account and that was what I did, I emptied my three accounts right there, I did not want to lose my spot. After paying I signed some documents and I left the studio heading back to Coventry.

On my way home I was not feeling good because I just dropped my last money and I did not know when next I was getting money how was I going to survive before money comes? On the train was when I remembered that by that time next month I was not going to even be in the UK because I was moving back to Nigeria, at this point, I realised I had fucked up. I picked up my phone to ring them saying i need a refund because I am moving back and I won’t be back in the UK anytime soon and I was told i could not get a refund after leaving the studio and they have modelling agencies they work with in Nigeria so I would be fine but it would take about three months for them to sort it out. I still had hope guys but I already knew by now that aye mi the mi ti ba mi.

After 3 months I emailed them no reply. I have emailed them about 100 times and still no reply and then I knew I was scammed by white people. After converting the whole money I invested in my dead dreams it cost me 100,000 plus Naira. I don’t care but that is a lot of money for you to get a reply at least.

No one should tell me that I have a model body or face because I will fight you.

I want to share your dreams and home one day. Be my man and I’ll be your girl. I see my future in your eyes. I have never really fallen in love, so I am ready to give you all my love. I want to fall in love with your soul first. Oh, My GOD! I can’t wait to meet the love of my life. I know you are going to treat me like the goddess that I am so I am not going to stress.

I pray for you every night before I go to bed, even though I have not met you isn’t that crazy?

Book Review || Murder on the Orient Express

Hey Tpjays how are you all doing? Hope your weekend is going alright?

Today we are doing something totally different, it's a book review and I plan on reviewing one novel every month (let’s hope I am consistent with this). This is me trying to cultivate a reading habit.

This novel is somewhat interesting as it keeps you guessing. For me, it started getting interesting in Part 1 Chapter 5.

The book is all about a murder that happened on the orient express.

The deceased Ratchett was killed by his enemy, he was killed because he kidnapped a little girl and then killed her after collecting the ransom. The news of her death caused some other death of her family members. People within her home felt her death because she was greatly loved by all.

Ratchett was able to leave America (where he committed the murder) escaping justice. This made the people affected by the child’s death to plot for him. Part of their plot was to strategically position Mr Hardman and Macqueen in his life as his employees to monitor his movements.

One of their accomplices works on the train Mr Ratchett booked for his trip, so they all decided that was a perfect time to carry out the revenged so they all booked that same train and were all put on the same coach. There was an extra space on the coach which they booked in some one's name that does not exist because they did not want an outsider to interfere but unfortunately for them, Hercule Piorot (a detective) needed to travel that day, that space was given to him since the person that booked never showed up.

Just after midnight, the Orient Express stops because of the snowdrift at this point a muder had occur. Ratchett was stabbed 12 times. Piorot was persuaded to solve the crime, his kiler was on the train because there were no footprints on the snow to show what direction the murderer went. After a long day of investigation, he came up with two conclusions;

Conclusion 1: A stranger boarded the train and murdered Rachette.

Conclusion 2: All the passengers conspired to murder Ratchet.

After his conclusion, Mrs Hubbard confessed that all 12 of them were involved in the murder but the other two men involved in the investigation along sides Piorot decided to tell the police conclusion one was the case.

Hey, Tpjay’s how are you all doing? Today we are talking about fashion hostel a.k.a FH. I know you all would be wondering what fashion hostel is? Anyways it is a boutique located in Surulere (9, Ishaga Road Mabo Junction, along Luth Road). I am here to tell you what the brand is all about and urge you guys to check them out if you are looking for classy, trendy, chic and affordable outfits.

Outfit 1: This outfit is so classy, corporate-ish and easy to style. You might not be able to wear this to the office because of the leggings but you can easily opt for a black pair of jeans and wear it to the office on a Friday. Whole outfit from FH including; earrings, knuckle rings and wristwatch.

Outfit 2: I am so much involved with this top because of the details on the neckline and sleeve, this outfit can definitely be worn to the office. Full outfit from FH.

Outfit 3: This is a so chic but laid-back look. Can be worn to hang out with the girls. The kimono can also be worn as a dress. All pieces from FH except jeans.

Outfit 4: This top is everything and can be styled up and down. The frills on the statement would give your whole outfit a statement.

2018: My year of Recovery

Happy new year TPJays, how is the new year treating you? I wish you guys all the best this new year, this going to be our best year yet.

Today, I am just going to be reviewing my 2017 and telling you why 2018 is my year of recovery.

In all honesty, 2017 was not it at all, in as much as there were bad days there were some good days too (i literally lived my best and worst life in 2017). One of the things I was able to achieve last year was focusing on myself, it was just me, myself and I. The highlight of 2017 was graduating, that was the most fulfilling thing that I have ever experienced.

I hope 2018 would treat me right and I can’t wait to see what it has in stock for me. 2018 is my year of recovery because I lost a lot last year from money to time, and I just want to recover them all this year.

My NYSC Experience

Hey beautiful people, how have you been? I wish you guys could hear the excitement in my voice right now, I have really missed you guys. I am really sorry for ghosting like that, but I had so much to sort out and going for NYSC orientation camp was one of the reasons I ghosted and that is what we are talking about today.

I got back from camp about a week ago and I had one hell of an experience. I got posted to Edo state (my state of origin) due to a mistake I made as I was working to be posted to Lagos (i mistakenly put Lagos as my state of Origin). The journey to Edo state was four hours and some minute, the trip was annoying because all the police that are not supposed to be on the road decided to stop us at each stop it was just tiring. I finally got to Okada (the location of the camp) and they did not let me inside because I did not have my medical report, so I had to go to the nearest general hospital, that was another level of frustration as there was only one doctor in that hospital and guess what! He did not even test us to know if we were fit for camp, he just wrote we were fit in the report like he literally just used his eyes to know if we were fit or not (Nigeria is a funny country). Went back to camp, I was let in got a mattress and then got assigned to a bed (the women giving slots liked me for some reason so they gave me a bed by the door and window) but on God that accommodation was horrible, how do you stuff 200 ladies in a room without fans (after we complained, they managed to put two fans, two fans for 200 people wow!)

I tried to register the next day but the queue was too long and I hate stress so I went back to sleep, just for me to wake up and see others with their kit (khaki and the other NYSC uniform) I felt so left out so I went to try register and I realized I was supposed to queue up in another line because foreign-trained. Long story short I could not register that day because I did not have my international passport with me, that was another stress cause registration was closing the next day and I was not sure I was going to get my passport the next day (i got right on time). Since I registered late, I did not get my kits in time to swear-in that means I did not promise to serve Nigeria come rain come hot sun haha. Talking about kits, I have one question for NYSC, whilst filling the form online, why did you ask us for our sizes if you knew you were just going to throw us any size?

I went to camp with i cannot kill myself mindset and I did not stress, i was always either sleeping or chilling while my mates were parading. How I got away with it i do not know. The only thing i enjoyed in camp was the man o war drill and the Miss NYSC and Me Macho pageant.

Being me, i got in trouble with some soldiers, all because i stood up for the girls (nobody sent me) basically, male soldiers usually come to the female hostel and i was confused because they did not need to there were female soldiers on camp. The nasty comment the soldiers made was what provoked me; one of them said ' i have seen plenty breast and bum yours would not do anything to me' or something like that. There was one of them that derived pleasure in coming to see breast and bum KMT. I came out for them twice and they dealt with me in their own way but oh well. Or did i forget about the soldier man that seized my cap and id and was calling me names because i did not give him money to buy drugs, please am i your mummy?

There was nothing i did not see in that camp. Oh! You know i cried when i heard that there was no water closet but pit latrine, pit latrine and it is almost 2018 SMH!

Shout out to all the girls i met at purity hall, the last two night in the hostel was my fun in camp and shout out to all the friends i made in camp.

Oh! I got redeployed to Lagos!!!

Lagos Fashion and Design Week || Day 3

Hey beautiful people, how is your week coming along? Today we are going to be talking about all thing Lagos Fashion and Design week and I am going to be giving you the tea of LFDW day 3 as I could not attend all days of fashion week. LFDW has finally come to an end and I am glad I was able to attend at least one day as it was a fun experience. I did not attend expecting much so I was not disappointed with my overall experience.

For the third day of LFDW, I decided to go simple so I wore one of my favourite dresses from The Ragged Priest which is currently my favourite clothing brand. Unfortunately, i did not get to take loads of outfit pictures because I went on my own and I was not really there to socialize I was mostly there observing.

Let’s talk about the Lagos street style shenanigans that happens before the show start; in as much as people want to make it to the top 50, I think most people overdo it and forget what fashion is actually all about. One of the things that actually got to me was the way people actually dressed knowing that Lagos is hot AF! The people that did the Lagos street style for me were Demi Akin and Tgjonah (just to mention a few), you know they know what fashion entails.

OK! Now let’s talk about designers.

Tokyo James: This was my favourite runway show that night, I just loved how he was able to put everything together in order to make sense because some designers get distracted by creating aseptically pleasing pieces that are not wearable.

Andrea Iyamah: I loved everything about this collection, it was oozing all sort of beach vibe. They were so relatable and wearable and the bridal showcase was lovely and elegant made me consider getting my future wedding dress from a Nigerian Designer.

Lisa Folawiyo: I loved the way the designer was able to modernize traditional outfits, I mean she is known for fusing modern western styles with African prints. She inspired and gave me loads of ideas for styling traditional pieces.

Mia Atafo: His collection was everything and I think his showcase was the perfect way to end LFDW day 3 from his runway show to his beauty and the beast presentation. One of the things that made me love his show was his beard gang collection, that was just too beautiful. I really need to lay my hands on one of his beard gang shirts!

Maxivive: This was actually my least favourite collection because I did not understand the designer's concept, his collection made him look confused (my opinion).

In conclusion, I discovered new, creative designers even though I choose to attend Friday’s show because most of the Nigerian designers I follow and keep up with were showcasing their pieces on that day.

Life Update + Lagos Lately

Hey guys, how did your weekend go? I know I have not been consistent lately, I really want to be but I am still in search of a photographer in Lagos, so if you know any photographer in Lagos please help a sister.

So I asked my insta fam for what they wanted to see on the blog between; Fenty beauty review and a life update and majority of them said life update hence this post. Whilst I was writing this post I realised that nothing much has happened since my last post.

It has been three weeks since I moved back to Lagos and I have been up to nothing really. The heat in this city actually makes it impossible to think. I am currently hoping to get into NYSC's next batch. At this point, NYSC is pissing me off as they keep changing the date of registration, the new date is tomorrow hopefully they don't change it.

I went for an O Wa N'bę on Friday and it was actually fun, I mean I have been home since I got back so going out was fun and going out made me realise that I was not ready for Nigeria mentally. Omg! You guys I went to computer village on Saturday and my goodness those men there actually irritated me so much they kept touching me to patronise them, I really can't explain the scene. Lol, I just remembered what happened on Thursday, if you ask me what my most embarrassing moment is/was I would say it is this; so basically I went out with my dad to take passport photographs for my NYSC application since the place was close to home we decided to walk, on our way there was a group of small boys that saw me they started saying stuff in Yoruba but I did not get cause I was not really paying attention to them, so they started speaking English, one of them was touching me (i really hate people touching me) I was trying to catch up with my dad because he was walking fast and I thought it would make them flee. I eventually caught up with my dad and I told him what was happening some of them left by the time they saw my dad but some of them continued, one of them was like 'aunty please give me fifty naira' one of them said 'aunty is it because of I love you that you are doing like this' when my dad heard this he changed it for them that statement and my dad's reaction cracked me up. It was actually embarrassing because it was on the road and people were watching. After gisting my mum this story, she came to a conclusion that they were trying to steal my phone.

Lagos has actually been a joke for me, anyways Lagos Fashion and Design Week starts this Wednesday and I am anticipating that and GTB fashion weekend is next month! Still not sure if I am attending LFDW but I am definitely attending GTB fashion weekend.

My 10 Insecurities and I

Hello, my dear TPJay readers. Happy new month and I hope this month comes with so many blessings. According to today's title, we are going to be talking about my insecurities and this was inspired by some bloggers as they were sharing theirs on their Instagram and blogs and I would love to do same as I think that was brave of them.

Going straight into it.........

1. My stomach, I have a really big stomach because I eat a lot these days. So I can't comfortably wear a crop top right now.

2. I have really big ears, I really do not care much about it these days because I wear hairstyles that cover them.

3. I have ugly feet I really do not like open toe shoes that is why most times you will see me in my trainers or covered shoes. My ugly feet are the reasons why I hate doing pedicure, I can't stand someone looking at them.

4. I use to think i had big lips, i don't think they are all that big or maybe it is because now big lips are cool, everyone wants big lips. Before it was cool I used to be insecure about them especially when you point them out to me.

5. I hate my laughter when I am I the public I will just smile at your joke (don't take it personally my laughter is really ugly.)

6. I used to be very shy and that made people walk over me when I was younger, could be shy sometimes.

7. I hate being called cute by guys because one guy called me cute and he meant the opposite lol (you would not understand this but it is sort of deep).

8. I hate feeling like I am stressing someone reason why I hardly reach out to people or ask for help.

9. My height! I never really cared about my height until recently it dawned on me that I might not be getting any taller and I am quite short, but I guess that is where my heels come in play.

10. And I am insecure around new people. Do not know why but I am.

Some of these insecurities still exist but minimal and I have outgrown some of them.

10 things I wish i did in Uni

Hey beautiful people, how are y'all doing? I am good thanks for asking. It is September and it is back to school season, I know most of you are ready for the new semester or not. I am going to be telling you some of the things I wished I did when I was still in uni.

Right into it....

1. I wish I said NO more often, saying no could be hard sometimes but it prevents you from doing what you do not want to do and it also prevents you from being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

2. I should have saved and budgeted properly. This is so essential to surviving in uni.

3. I would have networked better both blogging wise and engineering wise, I wish I was able to relate to white people and other people of other culture. Networking is really important for job search and other related opportunities.

4. I wish I had started a business something I could call my own. It is always good to have something doing whilst you are done with university.

5. I wish I did not stop going to the gym and I was eating healthy regularly. And also wishi was not waking up 30 minutesto my classes, should havegivingmy self some time to prepare for my classes.

6. I wish I did not stop going to church in my final year, my final year was just too much for me to handle and i thought avoiding the house of God was the solution. How dumb of me.

7. I wish I had done a year placement, I really wanted to but my university did not put me on the right track so I missed the opportunity of having a year experience in my field.

8. I wish I had gone home frequently, I was never really home sick but I just know I should have gone home.

9. I wish I worked smarter, I definitely worked hard towards my degree but I am certain I would have done better if I worked smarter and there is a big difference.

10. Make sure you enjoy your uni days because once they are over you really can't relive that life!!!

Hey, beautiful people. How are you guys doing? Thank God it is Friday!! Any plans for the weekend? Today I am going to share the things that I am currently anticipating, loving etc.

So let us get into it.....

Anticipating: Lagos!!!! Yes, people, I am finally moving back to Lagos, I am excited about it at the same time I am not because I kinda have a love-hate relationship with that city and I do not know what to expect in Lagos. But I mean the home is home!

Appreciating: The gift of life.

Craving: Ewa going and agege bread but I guess that would have to wait till I get to Lagos.

Determined to: Work harder, reduce how much I sleep and just put in more work. I am also determined to make every day a productive day.

Listening to: My favourite upcoming artist, he recently just dropped his first single titled tripping. You guys should please give his song a listen Here

Loving: Myself more and more.

Not sure of: So many things but I have decided to leave it in God's hands.

Reading: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It is a storybook lol don't laugh at me, reading it just to wet my reading habit. As I bought loads of book to read this summer but I have not gone far with them. I was reading blessed child by Ted Dekker but I was just not feeling it so I dropped it and started with the wonderful wizard of oz.

Regretting: Nothing really. Zero regrets but loads of lessons learnt.

Watching: POWER!! Okay let me calm down, just maybe I am over hyping this series but season four is the best one yet and if you are not watching power, I think you should. The way season four finished, season five is going to be more lit!

Wearing: Vintage and loving it, see how I styled it here! and I am still wearing off shoulder tops with exaggerated sleeves, can they ever go out of fashion? See how I recently styled them here.

Wishing: I had a lot of money so I could change my phone (it is broken).
