It’s that bad time of year again! It’s allergy season and allergies can affect not just how we feel, but also how we look.  Many women experience what we call ALLERGY FACE™.  It’s when you get a puffy face, red nose and watery eyes with allergy symptoms. I have to say I suffer greatly from allergies and I also get really red puffy skin especially around the nose.

It usually happens around the nose and eyes because I live with a tissue box next to me this time of year. It’s all because of the allergies.  According to a recent survey by the makers of ZYRTEC®, 96 percent of women suffering from allergies experience ALLERGY FACE™.

My tip for getting rid of allergy face is I take something like ZYRTEC® to fight the symptoms of allergies and try to use a great cover up and soft tissues. The less you can irritate your skin wiping the better.

In this amazing part one video, “Tackling ALLERGY FACE™, One Tip at a Time, With Carmen Ordoñez,” Carmen introduces her tips to help disguise a red nose, a puffy face and watery eyes.

Her tips include:

How to Disguise a Red Nose: Use a foundation or bronzer with a dewy or shimmery finish instead of a matte finish, which will only highlight dryness.
How to Contour a Puffy Face: Using an angle brush, apply a bronzer with brown undertones parallel to your jawline to help contour your face. Make sure it’s only one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone as you don’t want to overdo it.
How to Distract from Watery Eyes:  Dab a white or silver shimmery eye shadow in the inner corner of your eyes.

These are such amazing tips that I will be using for sure. I’ve always known I should use more bronzer, but I wasn’t sure if it would work. I now think I should really give it a try after seeing this video. I also love the tip to dab eye shadow in the inner corner of your eyes. I would have never thought to do that.

Some other useful tips Carmen had to share are:

To help your Nose: To help offset redness around your nose, apply a corrector or primer with a green tint, followed by your foundation.
To help your Face: Add a pearly nude eye shadow to the top of your cheekbones to help them stand out. This will help distract from your ALLERGY FACE™ and illuminate your face.
To help your Eyes: Draw attention away from puffy eyes by defining your upper lids with a navy liquid liner. Go for a stylish cat eye, which is a favorite among celebrities and has been all over the fashion runways. Start at the inner corner of your eye and create a wing effect once you get to the outer corner of your eye.

I love that I can sit and snuggle and watch some shows with our kids with our Netflix. It’s nice to know they have something we can all enjoy watching.

I recently watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Road Rally with our youngest of 3 and it was fantastic to see that we can stream his favorite show any time we’d like.

I love watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with him as it’s honestly the most adorable educational show for kids.

Having Mickey talk to your kids while you watch and seeing how excited your kids get is priceless. I will sit and watch a million episodes of Mickey Mouse Club House to see those smiles.

What makes Netflix even better is you and your kids can watch your favorite TV shows and movies anywhere, any time you want. Netflix is available on hundreds of devices, which you probably already have at home! You simply Download the free app on your device (we use an iPad), click on the Netflix app on any device or visit Netflix.com on your computer, and sign into your account and you can stream.

We stream from ours iPads. I have a iPad mini and a regular iPad and I always hand the iPad to the kids when we’re on a road trip or traveling or when I need to clean. It keeps them in an area away I need to be in, but they can still enjoy and watch their shows.

We love Netflix and I’m honestly not just saying that. I don’t know what we would do to keep our kids entertained or what we would do on our family movie night with out it.

As you all know I love my camera’s and taking photos. As I learn more and more about photography and better my skills, I find I can’t leave the house with out my camera.
