Okay truth be told...I'm not doing right by MadHare.

She's a perky lil warlock...ready to wreak havoc with her minions/buddies.

But when I send her out into the field, she dies. I can not seem to keep my girl alive. And it is hard to be fearsome when you are sprawled out dead and doing corpse runs. And frankly, how am I suppose to keep my minions enthralled if I embarrass them by getting consistently knocked out by "you no take candle" ratlings? My imp and blueberry are so pretending they don't know MadHare.

/sigh. Need to study "how to play a warlock"

So, I've told her to rest up a bit. She and Cynishade are all cozy in their deck chairs, working on their tans.

And I've rolled a warrior for the Sidhe Devils: Rarebit.

Ooooh aaaaah, I've never played a warrior: they are *fantastic*

Why is there always a dearth of warriors for Pugs/LFG channel?

Why isn't everyone rolling warrior?

Yes, I'm a simple gal: give me a big sword and shiny armor and let me go out and smash things.

I grabbed an orange box like Snake would have and the demons in Shadowmoon Valley did not have a clue!

Okay I was hating on my Jane Fonda headband. But Snake wears one 'cept he calls it a sweatband. And everyone thinks he is dead sexy.....................I'll tell the truth, I'm seriously considering a mullet. Me with a Snakish mullet would transform that headband into a sweatband. Am I right or am I right?

And the Blood Elfs would stop sniggering at me.

All right, here's my answer:

World of Warcraft is built on the premise of factions. This is WARcraft....it is not a game about neutrality. Ya can't be Sweden. Blizzard hammers that home straight off: you want to play? You start the game by choosing between the two major factions: Alliance or Horde.

What's a faction? As WowWiki puts it, a faction is a group of joes allied by race or the same ideological stance. Sort of like the Jets and the Sharks. Or Pepsi vs. Coke drinkers. Or those who put the mayo on the bread vs. those who put it on the meat when they make a sandwich. As you complete some quests and activities, you build reputation with various factions. (Yup, it's totally a popularity contest).

Now some factions are not at each others throats (like, oh say, the Alliance and the Horde). I'm pretty sure that the Sporeggars can give two pips about what the Netherwings are doing.

But some factions are all worked up about some other faction and vice versa. The Aldors, a bunch of Dranei, really don't care for the Scyers. The Scryers, a bunch of blood elves, feel the same about the Aldors. However, both of them hang out in Shattrah. Oooooh, what to do? They are sharing the same neighborhood. Have to walk by each other on the street.

Their solution? Divvy up Shattrah. Each has their own platform. If you are not allied with them, well they ask most respectfully that you get your butt off their platform before they kick you off it.

Yeah, I made my way out of Zangermarsh. Dude, my pants have dried out but I can't get that funky mold smell out of my shoes. And Ajax is making that sad kitty meow that says, "I freaking smell like a toad's bathroom!! Dude!!!" It's really bumming us out.

But I'm not writing 'cause of my smelly shoes or Ajax's pitiful meows:

I'm in Outland and I haven't figured out which group to join.

You haven't been to Shattrah yet? Dude, it's like high school, I'm so not kidding. You have to choose a gang: Scryers or Aldor. I mean I've got Ajax and he's definitely my best friend. But he's a cat. Sometimes you want to talk to people. Go to parties. Have a drink with a girl. You know. And in Shattrah, if you are going to hang out, you gotta join.

So I'm trying to figure it out. The Scryers seem cooler. More bad ass. More punk. The Aldors seem a bit more prissy. More uptight. More preppy. But I'm not going to go superficial in this case. Yeah I'd like to be cool like the Scryers but it looks like the Aldors throw better parties.

Here's my list of reasons for joining the Aldor's

1. Per WowWiki, 67.16 of BM hunters join the Aldor's. Almost 75%...yup, all the hunter cool kids are Aldor

2. The Aldor platform has a tunnel straight to Nagrand. Easy access to hunting grounds.

3. Moopy says that AP is more important than +crit. Yup I don't know what that means neither but it sounds convincing, huh?

4. Gitr Knows WoW and he says Aldor is for hunters

5. The Aldors have stuff you can sport that says you are one of them that are pretty nifty. I think I'm going to get the Lightwarden's Band.

Yeah I know that there are hunters out there that could give better reasons. Spell it out in numbers for ya. I'm just a simple Nightelf Hunter with a cool cat. I shoot things. And even though Blood Elf Scryer chicks are hot (capital H on that one), I'm going to go Aldor.

You start in rags...literally. Torn short shorts and a scratchy wool shirt (or the equivalent). You end up in something Elvis would be proud to sport.

What's the game trying to tell us?

1. That we are moving from snot nosed kid to adult?

2. that we are moving from cool and scruffy adolescent to stuffy adult?

3. that we are moving from poor and powerless to rich and powerful?

Cynishade is level 66 now. He's suppose to be styling and profiling, right? Ooof, I'll post a picture tonight of what he's wearing.

I didn't get the memo. Shouldn't all former English majors get some sort of Western Union telegram announcing these kind of punctuation decisions?

Or maybe it came by email and I missed it because I was sipping tea and wearing white gloves while I tip tapped away on my Smith Corona on the veranda of my Victorian porch.

Wow, I feel old. I didn't know.

Anyway here's a nice explanation of the current punctuation situation.

EDIT: oooh aaaahhh, I just found a webcomic about punctuation. And there's violence!! Violence about punctuation!! Take that as a warning all those who would dare enter into the dangerous world of punctuation. Punctuation is pretty d&mn close to puncture....just saying. /insert weak hiccuping evil laugh. (About punctuation, has violence and is commenting on zero punctuation....reading the comic really made my day)

Mother's Day Conundrum

Mother's Day is this Sunday. So as any good Forsaken should be doing, I'm trying to get a good gift for our dear ol' mum, Sylvanas Windrunner.

But what to get for the girl who already is a master of demon magic? And more importantly, how to make sure that your gift doesn't piss off someone who can turn you into a puddle of goo?

Here's the list of potential gifts I've come up with so far:

1. A megaphone for the Banshee Queen. Banshee's are keeners and screamers, so a little help in broadcasting the yelling? Or would it be seen as an insult? Like she can't work up enough wind on her own for a proper Banshee Caterwaul?

2. A chemistry set. Check it out this baby is a dozy. I think this kit could definitely work up a plague to take out humanity. But is Sylvnanas going to want to mess around in the lab? Maybe she's more of an "out in the field, killing the Scourge" kind of woman?

3. A padded saddle. Have you seen one of those skeletal horse rides? That is a bony and painful ride. Why not a little padding? Or would it sound like I was calling her a wimp with a soft tushie?

Oof! Gift giving is hard. Maybe I'll just get her a pretty rock.

Nope haven't been writing. But we are here to make amends and fill you in:

GirlFriday? Library school finals have consumed my time. I've finished them. But they've left me feeling drained and tired. Oh and the electricity is out in 1/2 of my house. So no power for the TV, no lights in the bedroom but there's light in the side room and working plugs in the bathroom. Go figure, it's weird.

DeadRabbit's workgroup Yellow Poxless has been not-so productive. (sssshhh don't tell management). You know how it is, someone calls out sick, someone else is down in the break room. We're suppose to be heading into Wailing Caverns and, as they say around the water cooler, "straightening its files and balancing its budget."

You ain't off the hook WC...Yellow Poxless will gather itself together and we will be asking to see your account ledgers...oh yeah, fear us!!!!

Squirrel is in a bit of a funk. There's rules that bind the Yellow Poxless (hey nothing wrong with some rules...they make the Anti-Pug experiment interesting). And until DeadRabbit gets to worklevel 20, our rodent friend is stuck at journeyman Engineer. And he so wants Expert Engineering. Impress the other squirrels, ftw, and goblin jumper cables, ya know? Squirrel, at this point, wants to flex his Engineering prowess. Settle down Squirrel, you'll get your chance.

Cynishade is in the Outlands and, isn't helping orphans yet, but is doing his bit to bring a little happiness to the kids.

Madhare, my pew pew lazerbeam warlock in Sidhe Devils, was in Loch Mordan getting her little gnome a$$ handed to her but the Troggs (over and over...Madhare has not quite got the Warlock "Fear Me" thing down...so far, she's more "I am warlock, stomp on me!"

and the previously mentioned, long delayed Thrall-mandated Variety Show? I swearz its coming. Ya can't rush artists! But I'll get them on stage, I promise. The curtain will rise. Legs will be broken. The show will go on.
